Budget (including currency): Under 3000$ CAD ideally but flexible. Country: Canada. Qc Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (COD/Warzone, Cyberpunk, Homeworld 3, Stalker2) and video editing Other Details: I am currently using an older EVGA x99 classified board with a Core i7 5930k with an 1080ti, and a 1000watt EVGa G2 psu. Ripjaw 4 F4-2400 (4x 8gb). Got access to a 2070 Super OC2 Greetings forums; Long time reader here! I am turning to you folks today for guidance and recommendations. Been so long since my last build. I am looking to gradually upgrade my current rig to a whole new rig in the coming weeks/months. I will replace Mobo, CPU, RAM and GPU and case. Don't think the PSU will need to be replaced since it's a 1000w gold plus already. My good old X99 has been serving me well over the years, but I am afraid I am hitting the limits of its capacity, correct me if I am wrong. It's currently running a 5930k so I got 40 pci-e lanes. And I am using a 1080ti for graphics. With 32gb of ram I am only gaming in 1080p since my current 3 monitor setup doesn't include any 4k displays and are only 60hz I would like to change my main monitor to a 4k down the line but at the moment the main focus is the rig it self. But if it is achievable within the budget I would upgrade right away. Cable management in my current case NZXT H440 is not very easy, so I would love to replace it with something with ample space and room for a CPU AIO. And since I am no longer running good old spinning drives I won't need a full size tower anymore. That this is tall AF. What do you guys think? Upgrade GPU first or Mobo CPU/Ram or everything at once? Is my CPU plenty for now? What would be the best bang for my canadian rubles...

Budget (including currency): 2000CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I play mostly AAA games, like cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate 3. I don't play fps or online games. But I do want to try playing with Linux virtual machines, I don't know what this requires, CPU, maybe memory? Please educate me on this. Other details: (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'll be using it with a 27-inch 2k monitor, and I have no plan to update my monitor at least in a few years. Motherboard : ASUS TUF Gaming B760M-PLUS WiFi Intel® B760 MATX CPU : Intel Core i5-13500 or 13400f (haven't decided CPU Cooling: DeepCool AK500S Air Cooler GPU : ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 White OC Edition Or ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 Twin Edge OC Which one with a lower price RAM : TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert Overclocking 10L DDR5 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) 6000MHz (PC5-48000) CL30 Desktop Memory Power supply : FSP Hydro G Pro 750W, 80 Plus Gold, Fully Modular Power Supply I spent a few days reading posts in the forums and on the internet and the above is what I came of. And here are some questions: Do I need to get the 13500 or 13400f is fine for what I'm gonna do with this machine? Are these parts compatible with each other? Should I spend a little bit more on the power supply and get an 850w with ATX3.0&Pcie5.0 for future proof? I plan to update after 5 years. Thank you for your feedback!

Hello there, I am seasoned software engineer with little bit gamming background in early days (University days ), recently I am thinking to upgrade my workstation to suite my software dev Workstation and Simulation games mostly Flight sim and Racing sim. Current system AMD Fx6300 Titan Black + GT630 16 GB DDR3 Looking at Ryzen Gen 3 and Intel 12th gen with DDR 4 since DDR 5 is far away I believe. I drive 3 Displays - 1 * 4k + 2 * FHD - but for gamming I am okay with 1440p or 2K Budget: 1000 to 1200 CAD only ! since new Apple mac 2021 M1 is already in wish list.

So I've been setting up a new network in my house and started dabbling into Remote Desktop Connections. Just for fun I decided to start up a game on the computer that I was remoting too (Doom Eternals) and it was super laggy is there any way that I could make it faster? (Via: 1000000000GB ethernet cards and networking cables and or Routers with EPYC CPU(s) just what would it take to game on a computer in the other room with a RDC or something similar?)

Hello guys, I'm new and not really knowledgeable about pc parts compatability, that's why I need your help. I previously had a laptop, asus rog, that I used for gaming and now for premiere pro video rendering. But the old guy can barely make it anymore, so I'm thinking it's upgrade time, and I would like to go big boys realm (Desktop). I'm from Romania (EU), as stated I would like to use this for gaming and Premiere Pro video rendering. I was thinking ryzen 3990x and rtx 2080 ti, Set up with 2 monitors, one high refresh rate and one with good, true colors. I'm not really into overclocking and RGB is not a must. I would like to get the best memory freq for this cpu and also a motherboard that has enough features to support my work, but not thing that I'm never going to use... My main issue is with balancing these out.. Budget is 2-3k euros (only tower and gaming monitor are a must) Can someone recommend something? Or corect my assumptions? Any help is appreciated Thank you

Hey hello, I am re-planning to buy some parts to build my own computer, (I started planning in last year, and i decided I could wait to see how the Ryzen possessors were performing)I was doing the research, and I also asked in this forum and the people that helped me were extremely supportive, more than I was expected and I am really grateful with those who helped me. I would like to get the best for my budget, it will be my first build, however I have some experience assembling computers (I use to upgrade the one that I had) the only part that I have never changed or even removed from the motherboard is the processor but that shouldn't be problem, and for what I've seen its quite simple. I need some help to pick the parts that would give me the results I am looking for, after talking with some members of the forum and after some time we came with this: PCPartPicker part list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b66dd6 Price breakdown by merchant: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b66dd6/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($479.00 @ Shopping Express) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($115.00 @ IJK) Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($225.00 @ PCCaseGear) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($299.00 @ Centre Com) Storage: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($445.00 @ IJK) Storage: Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($158.00 @ Shopping Express) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW DT GAMING Video Card ($845.00 @ Shopping Express) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case ($199.00 @ PCCaseGear) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 650W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer T9E PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($88.00 @ Shopping Express) Monitor: LG 27MP58VQ-P 27.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($189.00 @ Mwave Australia) Mouse: DLAND ZELOTES Wired Optical Mouse Total: $3042.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-03-04 14:31 AEDT+1100 but with the new release of Ryzen I'm not sure anymore. here is some information: 1. Budget & Location: I live in Australia and my budget is around 3000 $AUD which is almost 2300 american dollars, I am willing to spend a few bucks more if it is worth it. 2. Aim: Will be used mostly for gaming, but i might want to do some streaming and video edition as well (so the computer should be able to run the game, skype and also the streaming software at the same time) kind of games?, well I can only think of star wars battlefront, and probably some VR in the future that's why I chose that video card. 3. Monitors Right now I am using a full hd monitor (1080p, 27") it doesn't have any display port that I can use (I don't know why as it is a brand new LG monitor...) and I am probably buying another one (also after assembling the rig...). 4. Peripherals: I do not need any peripherals such as keyboard or mouse, but I am unsure to which windows should I use and if I should purchase it, or just crack it....I do not like the new windows 10, I am currently using windows 7 and I really like it. 5. Why are you upgrading Because I am currently using a core i7 920 CPU, 8 GB of ram and a radeon HD 6800. A very old rig and I can not play anything on it, beside I think it is time to have a good computer that can last for years and that I can use if I buy a VR headset. Extras:I want to buy the gtx 1080 FTW DT but might be another edition (definitely GTX1080 but not sure which one)

Hi all, I'm going on break soon and have plenty of time to enjoy myself to game after a long hard quarter. I have a dell xps 15 , and I'm playing quite a lot of low spec games like visual novels and psp/roms ported games. However these games comes at a high cost to storage space. My original C drive space is 200g, but I mainly wanna save this space for school work applications and don't wanna clutter it during school with games and other distracting applications. So I knew when I was younger, I put starcraft 1/halo 1 on a usb 2.0 stick and played them together at LAN parties, but is this a viable solution to play games? Should I be getting a external hard drive dedicated to games? Is there a speed threshold I should aim above now like usb 3.0+ or thunderbolt? How about heat? Is cooling an issue, I've noticed my usb devices get quite hot with data transfers. Thanks!

So i want to buy my first new pc and I’m checking Newegg, Amazon etc. I’ve found something interesting on new egg but I don’t know if it’s worth the price. Can you advise me if it’s a good deal ? And if not, have you a better idea and place where I can buy one? I don’t want to build it myself (not enough time). Thanks for helping me !!! https://www.newegg.ca/abs-computer-technologies-summoner-ali205/p/N82E16883102471?Description=Abs%20summoner&cm_re=Abs_summoner-_-83-102-471-_-Product

I want to see Linus build a gaming PC in the case of, or close as possible, of the Apple G4 Cube. The G4 Cube was a beautiful computer design! Let's see if Linus will see this and accept this challenge!

Known for their crypto ASICs but built a GPU... I know it’s not meant for gaming but it would be fun to watch Linus try to make it game. https://www.innosilicon.com/html/ip-solution/14.html

I recently built my first PC and I don't believe that I am getting the frames I should be getting. Here is a PCPartPicker list of components. In GTA 5 I can rarely break 60 frames a second. I'm basing my idea that I should be getting higher frames from this video I found when I was trying to figure out why my framerate was so low. I have overclocked my GPU using MSI Afterburner and that didn't improve my performance in games. I have not overclocked my CPU yet but I am going to do that soon. When I play Minecraft it can't get above 60 frames and there is a lot of stuttering when moving. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?

So I don't know why this happens but it's intersting, I have a Dell Inspiron 7567 with a GTX1050 average performance So normaly I get 35 to 40/45 FPS (yellow letters) on AC: Origins with this settings at 720p But today I connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI and when I started to play It felt pretty smoth a lot better, so I cheked the performance info in the settings menu and it showed an average of 75FPS and I never got that before, why did this happened? anyone nows why? I haven't try with other games but Origins is the most modern that I have installed untill now so I will try now with other settings to see how it changes

Hey, I always bought pre-built PC's and my current PC got too old so I decided to build my first ever desktop. I will mainly use this PC for programming out of which android studio will probably be the heaviest IDE including minor photoshop editing. Besides that I game casually but I am not really a hardcore gamer I usually just play a round or 2 of league of legends (sometimes a few RPG games but not a fan of ultra settings) and continue on with my coding stuff. I don't really want to spend too much on the PC but something that can be easily upgraded in the future would be nice. I estimate 500-700 bucks as a budget idk if thats good enough or too low. I am really interested in the 8400 cpu with a good motherboard but idk if thats too much for my budget. Any sugguestions would be appreciated

Does anyone have any experience with this monitor? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-g2260vwq6-22-1920x1080-tn-freesync-1ms-gaming-widescreen-led-monitor-black-red-mo-034-ao.html PC has a RX480 in it and looking at monitors with display port. This is the cheapest I've seen and at less than £100 it is very tempting.

Hi guys! This is my first post here, even if I've been watching so many videos of Linus in Youtube, so... Here I am! I am Mac user, a really convinced Mac user for many years. I had MacBooks Pros, I had a couple of iMacs, and now I have the top of the range iMac 5K which I mostly use for work and some random play time in boot camp (i7 6700K 16GB R9 M395X 3TB Fusion Drive) Last year, (just before buying the iMac 5K) I decided to go back to the PC world. I love building systems (in fact I have a computer company and I spend all days building/fixing computers for my customers) and I was angry with Apple's limitations to upgrade the GPU in order to play demanding games... So, I've got all this from Amazon: Asus Rampage V Extreme USB 3.1 Intel 5930K Samsung NV951 SSD 512GB nvme PCIe 32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX 3.000MHz 4x8GB Corsair h110i GTX Corsair 780T Corsair AX1500i PSU All Individually sleeved red cables ASUS Strix nVidia GeForce 980 Ti 6GB ASUS PG278Q Corsair Keyboard K95 RGB I carefully build my system, it was so nice and fun. The strix have the fan off when not using 3D, so is the Corsair AX1500i... Is amazing, even in games the PSU fan was off. I was honestly blown away by the stability and power of this PSU. Of course the power of that machine was also amazing when playing games. But, I finally decided to return it all and get the iMac 5K, here the reasons: 1) I was totally unable to get the RAM to work at 3.000MHz. And I mean totally unable. I know how to build computers I've been doing that for years. I had the latest BIOS, I followed every single tutorial in internet, I asked for help in all forums, ROG, 3DO. Tried to mess up everything... After more than a week trying I just gave up. Standard speed 2166MHz for 3.000Mhz certified Kinston modules in a motherboard that supports 3000Mhz and XMP 2.0 (so the modules) no luck. 2) Strangest thing ever. The SSD NV951 PCIe, was very fast, yes, but I noticed that when booting a system with that PCI I lost some FPS, and in fact when running 3DMark I had a noticeably lower socre than when booting the system using a traditional HDD using SATA. Which brings me a simple question... Do PCIe SSD take some bandwith from the GPU or the system? Anyone had this issue before? I honestly don't know, but I saw myself spending almost 10 days in a system that I couldn't make it work at standard speeds, I spent a lot of money, more than 4k Euros, so I returned it all and bought the iMac 5K which ran perfectly smooth out of the box. Now, 6 months later I am thinking that my lack of knowledge of the gaming world was probably the issue. So, here I am starting again with the hope of building my dream machine, and get it at least work at "supposed" speeds in less than a week For starters, I should totally check the motherboard compatibility memory list, and make sure I buy a part number which is specifically supported. Sorry for the long story!

gaming pc build £1200 these are my parts https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ should i go with and i5 6600k and gtx 980ti or an i7 6700k with a cheaper gpu?
