  1. Hey there. I am not sure if there would be anyone here on the forums who could help me out with this predicament I am having. The thing is, I want to be able to live-stream and capture gameplay from my Nintendo 64 via S-Video (as I am aware that S-Video quality stands out much better than Composite (yellow) video). I know that my Elgato Game Capture HD is compatible with signals from S-Video and Composite, though I have not been having much luck getting it to work properly, as I am not sure if it is the TV and/or monitor I use, the console, the S-Video cable (as the composite one still has problems for whatever reason) or the capture card (as it still worked perfectly with component and HDMI signals). If anyone here has done something like this before, I would appreciate feedback of what I am to do please. I want to give this forum a chance before I contact Elgato themselves. Thank you for your time.
  2. Hello, Fellow Techies, I am in desperate need of help and I actually have a $20 Bounty on the Table for the first person to give me an actual work Solution for my Ongoing Problem... I use my Condensor XLR Microphone through a Focusrite 6i6 USB Audio Interface which is connected to my Windows 10 PC w/ an Intel 7700k CPU, GTX 1070 GPU, and 16 Ram, which has my ELGATO HD60s Capture Card connected to it which is also coming from my PlayStation 4. When I am recording live audio or Voiceovers for my Videos and Streams I am A OK.. The problem comes about when I am playing online on my PS4 in a Party with friends like when we do our PS_Lovers Community Game Nights and we are in PS4 Party Chat. I should be able to also record my friend's voices as well as mine using the ELGATO CAPTURE LINK Cable that I purchased extra but I have yet to be able to figure out the correct combination of connections and settings and programs to use to correctly get all of this to work. Like I said i have a $20 PSN Card up for grabs for the Person who is able to help me record Party Chat using all of the components mentioned like I am supposed to be able to. If I used a USB Microphone like a Blue Yeti or Snowball then I wouldn't have this problem, I have seen videos how to set something like that up but because I am using a USB Audio Interface I am not able to get this all to work so i can also record my Party Chat which is very important to me for my future videos.. Please Help Linus Tech Tips Community... p.s. Yes I have already Google Searched this and watched many YouTube videos and still no luck..
  3. hello all. so im looking to reconfigure parts of my setup, and for the purposes of doing so, im looking for a capture card thats compatible with an older 3,1 model mac pro, now im not sure whats all available to support the mac pro, and im trying to stay below the $200 mark. my aim, is to capture 1080p60f.
  4. The question of the hour is, what would be generally better for recording. The Ryzen 3900x or the Ryzen 3950x. Now I am aware that Nvidia has Nvenc which can yield a better encode but the problem here is the system would have 2 Elgato 4k 60 capture cards and as far as I'm aware Nvenc has issues capturing from multiple sources. It could also be noted that this could be split between the GPU's Nvenc encounter and the CPU but for practicality if a person wanted to switch between recording and streaming what would be the best option for a high quality encoding. 3900x or 3950x Software of choice here is OBS, Resolution is 1080p and FPS 60 at Placebo speed. (would it be possible to achieve Placebo speed?) So in this instance what would be the best option? For high quality editing that can encode 4K footage from two sources and scale it down to 1080p for the CPU's and would it even be possible to achieve the Placebo speed on a 3950x? Is the 3950x worth the extra bank or is it simply a wiser decision to buy a 3900x?
  5. During update avermedia lgp lite update portable error. The device does not turn on anymore and the lights are not lit. (My English is bad sorry.) How do I fix this? İf you want picture and video. I can share. Thanks.....
  6. Hey Everyone, My name is Johnny and I am reaching out to you because I am an aspiring Live Streamer. I happen to have two systems. The specs are as follows: Widowmaker: Threadripper 1950X Gigabyte X399 Aorus Gaming 7 G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200MHz DDR4 Dual Channel 2x16GB (To cut costs) EVGA GTX 1060 SSC 6GB (Going to upgrade to a 1080/1180) Enermax Liqtech TR4 280mm AIO Razer: FX-8370 Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 G.Skill Sniper 1866MHz DDR3 Dual Channel 2x8GB 2x XFX RX 470 4GB Limited NZXT Kraken X62 240mm AIO I am wondering if I were to use my Elgato HD60 Pro to capture my desktop game-play if I would see better performance through the Elgato instead of doing "Game Capture"? Any ideas, suggestions, or tips would help and be appreciated. Thank you, JustGamingJohnny
  7. As the title says I am looking for a recording software that can capture at 300fps. Most of the game recorders max at 60fps. So Is there anything that can capture every single frame when the game runs at 300+ fps?
  8. Hey, I have a pretty much troubeling problem right now. Do I NEED 2 monitors to be able to use Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro? On the elgato software I can see from the bottom which applications are open, but I can't see if they are on screen (only home screen is visible). I can only see the apps if I drag them outside of my monitor, when I'm unable to see the app but it shows on elgato software. I'm really confused and would really need help right now, and fast! THANK YOU
  9. I was looking into Elegato for PC game recording, and it's apparently possible to record your gameplay with only 1 PC. As in, gaming on the same PC your Elegato video source is feeding to. But is there any benefit of that over just using capture software? Obviously the drawback with OBS, XSplit, etc, is it puts a huge load on your CPU because of the encoding and compressing and all that stuff. If I used it with just my one PC, would it take that load away from the CPU? I don't understand the technicalities of it. But I assume the Elegato takes care of the encoding and all that difficult stuff on it's own.
  10. Hey guys, I'm trying to stream from my Elgato HD60 capture card and for some reason the audio is coming out of the TV as well as my headphones. Problem is, I want to stream without the game sound coming from my Razer Kraken's. If I mute Xsplit in system sounds, then no sound is going into the stream. So is there a way to stream in XSplit without the capture sound coming out of my headphones, but going into the stream directly? Thanks! ;D
  11. ok, i have a PS3, and i plan on getting a PS4 during the holidays, and i want to record game play from both, onto my pc. i have a beefy computer, so weather the card itself encodes the footage or the PC does doesn't matter. from the research ive been doing this: http://www.amazon.com/AVerMedia-Recorder-C985-Capture-Stream/dp/B007UXJ6LE/ref=as_sl_pc_ss_til?tag=bescapcar-20&linkCode=w01&linkId=&creativeASIN=B007UXJ6LE looks like one of the best options, im just wondering if the community has any experience with it. thanks
  12. Hello, I was unable to find a post on this subject. so i thought maybe i'd get out there and ask around. after days of research i have a headache. let me tell you what i am trying to do. i am a big fan of streaming gameplay. i am not a professional i am far from it, but i love quality. after trying xsplit, action, shadowplay, obs, and others i found that if i try to stream from the computer that i am playing on it maxes out my cpu. now my system isn't baller or anything *specs below* but it seemed to work ok but the video quality suffers. so i started looking into video game capture devices. first instinct was to get the elgato hd60 because it says it records in 1080p at 60fps but what they don't tell you is that it won't stream at 60 fps (from what i have read). then i looked into the Avermedia Live gamer portable sounds like a great deal the software is always said to be the best but it doesn't stream at 1080p 60fps it will at 720p 60fps is that enough. so without going on and on i will say i have been looking around if anyone has any insite i would greatly appreciate it. oh i would like to stay under $200 possibly around the $150 mark. CPU: G3258 *OC 4.5Ghz GPU: PNY GTX 970 RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Storage: 2TB WD Blue Boot: PNY Optima 240GB SSD please help
  13. Hi guys, I'm looking for a way to record gameplay from my PC, but software recording like OBS isn't quite cutting it. I have to turn my game settings way down to accommodate for the extra CPU usage, and even then the recordings seem to have poor quality, even with a high bitrate. Does anyone know of a way to get higher quality recording without buying a new CPU or an Elgato? I would like at least 720p (preferably 1080p60) recording but don't want to spend $130+ on an Elgato. Is there some kind of a cheap H.264 accelerator for my PC or something similar that I could use?
  14. Hello people! I just started making YouTube videos and am looking for some help setting up Dxtory for optimal performance. My computer is a Intel I7 5820k OC 4.2, Asus GTX 970 strix, 16gb ddr4 2133 mhz ram (the ram says 2800Mhz, I just did not do xmp). I am playing games like GTAV, Minecraft, League of Legends, Smite, Final Fantasy VII, Rocket League, Etc. This program has a lot of setting and I want to make sure I can make high quality recordings. I have hoping to record at 1080p 60fps. My main drive which the program will run off from (not record to) is a 500gb evo 850 ssd. It will be recording to either a 3tb WD black drive or an external 2tb WD passport external HHD (using 3.0 usb). My cpu has 6 cores 12 threads and is overclocked to 4.2Ghz. I see there are settings for cpu control so any insight on how many threads should be used and how high the priority should be would be nice. I already noticed that if I record, the video will be black unless I play it in Adobe Premiere pro. Anyone know why? I put the Lagarith Lossless Codec in Dxtory. I was wondering what settings I should use for that? like RGB, RGBA, Yuy2, Yv12. I assume I should pick multi threading. The enviroment shows both of my monitors, I will be recording on the 144hz if that helps. I posted on the website I bought Dxtory, but the admin was no help. http://forum.exkode.com/index.php?topic=1607.0 I think I covered all my bases. Any help will be much appreciated. I did the environment information so here is that: [Dxtory] Version: 2.0.132 UID: 1c458b70-ee2e-495c-b6ad-88417cfcff71 [Dxtory Files] InstallPath: C:\Program Files (x86)\ExKode\Dxtory2.0 amd_ags.dll 15. Hello, im plan to buy the Elgato Game Capture HD 60. But i read that it increases CPU usage. On the Elagto Website https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/game-capture-hd60 they say it is a hardware based h264 encoder. So normally it should not use much CPU as i expect it will only save the encoded h264 stream via usb to the internal harddisk. Is that correct? Thanks - Jones
  16. I was wondering if anyone had information as to the best way to record gameplay. I am aware of ShadowPlay, but I've heard of people taking large performance hits while gaming. Seeing as I'm on a laptop (Lenovo Y50-70), I can't really afford to take performance hits of more than a few fps. I'm also looking for something completely free, ideally. Thanks so much in advance.

  19. I have been looking everywhere for a decent program that I can tell to record multiple audio tracks at once, I can't seem to find one at all. I basically want a program like Dxtory, but the reason I'm not using Dxtory is it just doesn't want to run on my computer and crashes when ever I hit my record button (most likely a bug with AMDs drivers as it's the only thing that has changed in my computer since the last time I ran it) I simply want to use my Virtual Audio Cables to record my Gameplay, Microphone, Game Sounds, and Skype/TeamSpeak all on separate tracks! I have the Cables setup but I just don't have a program to use them so if anyone knows a program that can do all of this and put it in one file, please share it. Or if you know of a program that does something close to this I would love anything at all that could help me get something close to what I want. Thank you ~Upstagebuffalo
  20. This is a simple one for you all, I want to know what would be the best for gaming and streaming to twitch at 720P/60FPS. I have a fixed price point of $650 and this will be a gaming and streaming PC and I am having a hard time picking what build would be the best. Both will have a capture card in the price to stream at 720p/60FPS and maybe 1080P/60FPS. The problem I am having is, atholon x4 750K with a 750TI from MSI or a 6300 with a 750 from EVGA. I don't need a SSD, monitor, keyboard, HDD, OS, or mouse. This is what I got for the atholon x4 build PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($79.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI A88XM-E35 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($67.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($63.99 @ Best Buy) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($149.99 @ Newegg) Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 ATX Mid Tower Case ($34.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($19.99 @ Newegg) Other: Avermedia live gamer HD ($174.99) Total: $591.92 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) 21. Whats going on guys. So after 4 years my e6300 finally decided it was to move on . Which also means i need a new build So the plan for this build is to be used to game and render out youtube videos. I live in Canada and my budget is flexible but under $3000 (Just for the Build Peripherals will be separate) Still having trouble deciding between IB-E and Haswell. Upgrade wise i currently have 9800GTX+ and a 4670(for 2 extra monitors 1280x1024) and a WD Raptor 74gb and 640gb Cavair Black all in a Xclio Windtunnel. So anything would be better. Would also like a NAS recommendation i have multiple external HDD's and want to have it centralized(Nas Budget not in the build ) For case i am looking for something sleek and minimal so anything like a Define R4. Want to run games maxed out at 1920x1080 and at 120fps( wondering whether i need to run at 120fps to get 120hz refresh rate to be worth it) to get the best performance out of my monitor. also i need a Live Gamer HD and a Decent Sound card Need an OS but dont include it in the total build price. Maybe Watercooling in the Future so yeah. Just out of curiosity do you guys reccomend another pc for game capture or will the live gamer hd be taxing the cpu while gaming? Peripherals : I am getting the Xl2420T and RL2455HM (will need another monitor to use with the Xl2420T because RL 2455HM is dedicated for console use). Keyboard I plan on getting a Corsair K65 mouse still deciding between the Mionox Naos 8200, Func MS-3, and Deathadder 2013. Headset im planning on gettin the AD700x.Speakers a refurb a Corsair SP2500. A Mic was Planning on a Snowball or AT2020. Mouse Pad still no decision Thank you guys a lot and let your imaginations run wild!
  22. NCIX: N/A Amazon: http://geni.us/1yrw Our review of the AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable Lite is here. We love the AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable - did they take too much away from the Lite, or is it the same fantastic product in a more affordable package?
  23. Hello Everyone, (I know this is a lot of information, I understand if it is too long for some haha) I have been contemplating building my own PC for the last couple years now and am finally expecting to have the kind of money I will need to buy all the parts at once soon. As a bit of a background, I am a US college student about 6 months away from finishing my degree. I major in Multimedia Design and Development and hope to work in 3D environmental design for things such as games and/or animations. I will also possibly be working with web page design, video/image editing, programming, and illustration. I would also like to record my gameplay, edit, and upload to YouTube/stream to twitch. I want to build a high-end gaming and workstation PC in the price range of about $1500 to $2000, including some peripherals, that will be able to last me for several years and will be fairly versatile in general. As of this point, I have been doing a lot of research, consulting my computer enthusiast friends, revising, and have come up with a parts list with pcpartpicker.com. I would like to note a few things before I get to the parts list though: one, I already have a mouse, so I do not yet intend to get a new one. two, I am expecting to be able to have Windows 7 provided for me by my school for free. ( I do not like Win 8 and might be interested in Win 10 at some point in the future if it proves to be a reasonably good OS) three, I am pretty set on the case. I really like the Carbide Air 540 by Corsair and was a part of my original builds, but recently my attention has been brought to the newer Air 240, the mATX form factor case, and I really feel that, after consideration, the benefits of having an mATX form factor fits my plans for this build. My thought process goes as such: I do not intend to have more than 2 graphics at any point, I like that it will be fairly compact and portable, and I will be able to save some money without hindering my expectations of the build quality. four, there are several parts that I currently do not yet intend to buy and might possibly upgrade to later. At this time, 16 GB of RAM will be plenty (but I enjoy the thought of possibly upping that to 32 in the future), I am comfortable with a single powerful graphics card (with option of adding a second later down the road, probably SLI), and I do not intend to OC this build at this time and have been advised by a few people that I do not specifically need a replacement CPU cooler at this time (but am considering added components such as a closed loop liquid cooler for the CPU). Also, I am considering replacing all fans with Noctua, or possibly some other quiet set with LEDs built in, at some point. five, I would like WiFi compatibility as well as possibly an HD gameplay recorder for my consoles. The current build as it stands is: ( http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kibex55/saved/wfsj4D ) CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core (I think this is a bit overkill but I like the idea of going big with the CPU, have considered a xeon but if I do want to OC later then I am told that it is not good for that and the base clocks are more important than amount of cores for games so it better to go with i5 or i7) MotherBoard: MSI Z97M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1150 (really like this board, "decent" price with a lot of features) RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 (price range possibly around 80 to 180, i would like to keep the color similar to the board unless another RAM is significantly efficiently valued) SSD: A-Data Premier Pro SP600 256GB 2.5" SSD (I would like an SSD for boot and frequent programs speeds, maybe 120 up to 256 so I can hold OS, programs, and some frequent games, reasonable price range seems around $80 to $140) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM (looking at around 1 to 3 TB for my first HDD, price range around $60 to $120) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW ACX 2.0 (I was originally looking at the MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V, but I feel like the case might have a height problem with that one. I am looking for a card with maybe 3+ GB, probably Nvidia 900 series or a very powerful 700, like the 980/970 or 780ti. My price range is very dependent on performance. I could say possibly between $240 and $560, with going over $400 needing to be very worth it. if I go over $400, I will likely need to cut back on expending on something else like maybe the CPU, but I would rather keep that pretty powerful because of the editing I plan to do) Case: Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower (love this and the Air 540 case, don't think I will be willing to change to any other) PSU: Rosewill 750W ATX12V / EPS12V (price range seems reasonable around $60 to $140, gold seems fine, I would like to keep it at least semi-modular) Monitor: Asus VG248QE 24.0" (definitely interested in a high-end monitor within the price range of about $100 to $300, I would like to get a G-sync monitor, but they are way too much, maybe I could upgrade later down the road. For now, I would like something around 24" with a high refresh rate, low response. 16:9 is completely fine, but I just can't help but consider something like 21:10 (maybe something like LG 25UM64-S). also, I would be interested in a monitor that has HDMI in and out so I can play games without any added latency and run the output from the monitor into my computer so it can record. at least some reasonably good freedom of movement would also be nice.) WiFi Card: Asus PCE-AC68 802.11a/b/g/n/ac PCI-Express x1 (seems a bit over the top, but with the builds price range I am being a sucker for the pricey good looking stuff haha) *HD Capture: AVerMedia C985 Live Gamer HD * (like I said, I would be interested in getting a good HD capture card for a reasonable price like around $80 to $180, this one looks good with decent software available, HDMI pass through, minimal latency, audio ports, adapters, and 1080p 60fps recording, etc.) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 (I am looking for a good quality, easy to clean keyboard, probably with a number pad and even a few M keys, this one looks great. I am probably just going to go with the cherry mx red and add rubber o-rings to shorten the distance and quiet the bottom out since I bottom out often.) alternatively, I am still considering going above and beyond by getting the Air 540 case and going with a bigger build with an ATX board and possibly even 2 graphics cards (though that sends me over my price range). I have a secondary build list with this setup here (http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kibex55/saved/Ngn7YJ ) just in case.
