Hello trusty adventurers in the realm of the great mighty linus! and ... okay i can go back to a more norman voice? ... okay ... confuse people? ... i get that. I am here to start my build proccess to build my first computer all on my own. The computer my uncle around build 5-6 years ago with the beastly i5 2500k and my trusty hd6970 has done me well through all these years, yeah i allways droped a few settings but only last year my buid reached its limmits. Dropping everything to low and going 720p didn't help to get those sweet 60FPS. the offenders? nearly every new game! So the baseline is: I am going for an ultrawide 1440p drop some settings system as i plan on upgrading my gpu but i am going for a good monitor right now. I do some rendering and some software development as a hobby but i dont need any brand specific features as they are usualy not realy important. my basic idea is to go for a system with the Ryzen r5 1600 or 1600x and i am concidering to wait for Vega, even if it wont be that good some competition could make my dream buid come true. the problem is i am not that savvy concerning the other parts so i need your help good people! My budget is around 1200€ or the equivalent in Germoneys and my location is Germany. What do you think, will my dream of a nice build come true? Cheers, UltimateCube

I am currently finished assembling my 2nd server for Rust, which is basically a re-branding of an old-ish gaming PC I built myself about a year ago. Included is a Silverstone 600W SFX fully modular PSU, which worked perfectly here in Europe thus far. The only problem is that the original power cable shorted out/burned when I plugged it into an outlet in an older building on base..... The PSU is completely fine, but I was out of a power cable for about 4 months. Today I bought a replacement cable, but rules with regard to voltage, ground, and wattage requirements are a bit beyond me. The only power cable they had at the BX was an SDF Universal AC Power Cord. A no-name manufacturer that I DO NOT TRUST, but was my only option at the moment. I've included a photo of the front and back of the packaging (mostly because I'm a n00b when it comes to the science of electrical currents, resistors and other things like that). I've looked on forums to remedy my ignorance on the subject, but to no avail. The PSU product page didn't give me much information in the way of compatibility either. I'm an aspiring IT specialist... Who is completely lost. Extremely humbling, but this is a place for me to learn something new all the same. Other cables are plugged into the wall just fine with similar specifications to the one I just bought. The only difference is that the ones that are safely working are native-US cables with a prong adapter attached to it. The new one is EU-native, so it shouldn't be a problem, right? I don't want another PSU to catch fire or pop again. Any help or information that I can use as a reference (to help familiarize myself with PSU tech and electricity in general) will be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance

Hi everyone! I'm new to the pc world. I basically got involve through Linus videos in this beautiful madness that is computer world. Right now I have a Lenovo y50 core i5/ 8 gb ram/ nvidia gtx 860m laptop. It's a good pc with the worst screen ever and the worst touchpad ever made. But I love him <3 I'm an artist you can say. I'm still in the learning process and I need a pc (only tower) that I can work with. I will be using Photoshop (in extreme ways that this laptop is having problem workin with), Zbrush (I want to learn to all, texuring, mesh, color ect) and a Rendering program for it, and some other adobe programs. I would like to learn some animation too but we will see about that. Also I love gaming. Not much online games more offline long story telling kinda games like Horizon/Witcher ect but...I will sacrifice the game performance if the computer will be exeptional with the programs I need. I know my bugdet is not much but It's all I can spend on it. I'm from poland so I can buy from Amazon.de or more local stores like Allegro or Empik (We don't have a polish amazon but sometimes we get better prices from those sites) I have a new monitor BenQ GL2760 with HDMI DVI and Vega imports (27 inch display) and in the future I want to buy a Huion GT 220 graphic display that needs lots of ram. So...1200-1500 euro budget work (maybe gaming) pc ONLY tower with at least 16 gb ram. Also would you recomend nvidia 1060 GPU or nvidia Quadro M2000? 'Cause I calculated that I can only spend about 200/300 euro for the GPU and the M2000 is really outdated. Thank you all fro reading these long post and thank you in advance fro your responses.

I need to edit a face on to the 500€ bill. I thought I could easily find some sort of generator/template with a Google search, but quite that's not the case. I found some stuff, but nothing like what I was looking for. What would be the best/simplest way to do it? Do I have to use an editing program and do everything from scratch or is there a simpler solution?

Hello, I'm new here so if I'm doing something wrong just tell me. I would like to get myself a decent gaming pc with a budget of 900-1000 euro. I want to buy the parts separate because the prebuilds always have something I don't like. I won't be building it myself but let a store do it for me. I had a bit of a look for parts, but I don't have a huge knowledge of this. Intel Core i5-6600 Asus B150M-A motherboard Crucial - DDR4 - 8GB - DIMM 288-PIN (would buy 2 of these) EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB I don't want a fancy case, just one who will do the trick. I think a have a 650 or 750 watt feedingstuff (sorry I'm Belgian and I don't know the name for this part :p). I don't need a keybourd or mouse. And I'll be using 2 monitors, 1 HDMI and 1 older one VGA (and/or DVI-I or D don't really know about this) but I think a have a VGA to HDMI adapter. If I missed something just tell me. Thank you

Hello everyone, I'm shopping for a new phone, but I do not have a that big of a budget. I was looking at the Huawei P8 Lite because it has good reviews and is under 200 euros, but I'm curious if there are other choices for a good phone under 200 euros that is fast, has a good resolution and is not small. I hope you guys can help me out. And I've already seen the Asus Zenfone 2 but it is pretty weird because it has multiple versions? I don't get it and on the biggest tech comparison website in the netherlands it doesn't even have a price set to it... And there are multiple versions that have exactly the same name but different specs? I'm not enjoying looking into the zenfone 2 shit because it confuses me. So don't tell me that the only other option is the Asus Zenfone 2...

Hey everyone, Im in the market for a new monitor right arround the 500€ price range for my 980ti i am currently using a 21 inch 1080p panel so anything would be an upgrade ( well not everything but you get the point ) I do not need productivity monitors Im only going to use it for gaming for the type : Im not sure whats best thats why Im asking for general input minimum res should be 1440p though 4k should be fine since my 980ti overclock is pretty decent (GTA V with maxed settings [anything but aa and framescaling] gets me 56 daytime and about 67 at night) Id like to hear If what you guys recommend -> is IPS worth the price premium for gaming ? ->is 100hz+ worth over a higher res ->widescreen or one of the two above mentioned things Thanks, lookin forward to you guys answers

Hi there I am new to the LinusTechTips forum but I am also fairly new to PC building and upgrading. What do you think about it? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/k9gbMp The budget is around 800€. Keep in mind im in Europe so the prices are messed up (that 700$ becomes a 830€ at the moment on Amazon). Feel free to correct it, comment and so on. PS: First build. Let me know if everything is compatible. I don't wanna trust too much the pcpartpicker auto-compatible-thingy. THANKYAW.

Hi, recently i bought a new phone but they didn't came with any earphones. So I was wondering if you guys can help me find some for around 25 euro, since i don't have so much money. I wanted to buy the Sony MDR-EX110AP at first, but a lot of reviews said that it's really treble heavy. And I can't find any better earphones that are as durable as those are. Please help.

1. Budget & Location So my budget is around 500 euros-ish, and location, as in my name, Ireland 2. Aim I plan to use this for gaming with my friends, I'd like to run games such as GTA V or H1Z1 60fps on normal settings if possible. 3. Monitors I still need to get a monitor so any suggestions would be nice around the 100 euro-ish range. (I don't mind response times and all that. Not included with the PC budget.) 4. Peripherals I still need a keyboard and mouse, although I can get those pretty easily, any keyboard and mouse would do me as long as they work, and look cool. I don't mind response times and all that. The build I was told to build by my friend was this : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/GfmGpg , so any comments on whether or not to get that would be helpful too. <3 Thanks in advance <3

Hello. As the title says, I have a huge problem. I have about 1000€ and I need new headphones. But also I want to save for my first car. I would need to save about 5000€ more for my dream car. But then again I have headphones that has only one working speaker... I don't want to buy any cheap headphones because they may be cheaply made and can break easily. I'll tell something about me: I'm a 16 year old student. I would need to wait for 2 years to get my drivers license So what would you do? How much is too much for headphones? Should I save for a car or should I go to store and buy headphones? As my profile picture says, I like Mercedes-Benz. Thank you for your help and advice.
