I found a good deal on a used workstation which includes my desired gpu, a Quadro p4000. Said pc is a Dell precision t5500 with aftermarket parts, I only want the gpu & power supply but I believe in using what I have before spending. Therefore, if I try to flip the parts I don't want, the case is biggest, least desirable, and most expensive to ship. My ideal x570 board is the MSI Creator EATX, if I get lucky with an affordable Threadripper, those boards are also EATX. Will the t5500 case fit an EATX? Would it be cheaper to make an EATX fit in the franken case or simply build a case from scratch? Budget (including currency): $50 (for case mod or construction) Country: U.S.

I recently got a new Motherboard, CPU and RAM so i had to build with my old powersupply and case. When i installed everything i noticed that the 12V EATX cpu power was the wrong kind so i went to amazon to find a replacement, but my current powersupply has a 10 pin female connecter, with the 2 middle lanes being empty. Every cable on amazon had a 8pin, would the 8pin work?

I am trying to build a Dual-CPU Linux system that will run three 3060 12GB GPUs (which will be used for AI Research). I purchased these : X99 Dual-CPU MOBO: http://www.huananzhi.com/en/more.php?lm=10&id=311 PC Case: https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/define/define-7/black-tg-dark-tint/ The case is described as supporting E-ATX, but my mistake was that the maximum length is 285mm. The motherboard is 340mm. Are there any PC cases that are actually big enough to support this motherboard?

So, I purchased my new mobo; and I kinda "oopsied" and didn't pay attention to a slight fact that it says "E-ATX" ( https://www.newegg.com/msi-meg-x570-godlike/p/N82E16813144257 ) Well, that presents the issue of a case, because currently I am using the: https://www.newegg.com/black-darkflash-tempered-glass-atx-micro-atx-mid-tower/p/2AM-008X-00002?Description=darkflash&cm_re=darkflash-_-2AM-008X-00002-_-Product&quicklink=true On the FAQ. It mentions specifically that it does not support E-ATX. So it looks like a new case is going to be required, which is saddening (my mistake). However, I have a very particular case style I like. Which is mostly clear tempered glass, not busy, etc. So after poking around, I saw this one which is nice: https://www.newegg.com/black-segotep-phoenix/p/2AM-005R-00009 However, it doesn't mention E-ATX, so I think I'm S.O.L. with that one as well. What are my options here... keeping the price point of $200ish reasonable. I like to spend money on my hardware, and not as much on the case. I just like them clean looking. Would the Godlike even fit in that Segotep Case?, if not, what are my options. Thanks.

Hey all, I bought a Mobo, Cpu & Ram Bundle (Elite Force) from my local tech store (Maplins, Its their own boxed bundle) - CPU: Intel Quad core i7-6700 Mobo: Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard Ram: 1x8Gb DDR4 Single Channel Vengeance LPX PSU: Corsair CX550M (550w) Bronze The problem is that the ATX (EATX) Power Cable 8P plug (male) from the PSU is not the same as on the Mobo. I have looked so many places both on the net and in the local stores where I live for a place that sells or will make up some thing that will sit between these too. Neither Corsair or Maplins have an adapter to fix this. A tech guy in a store said I should put it in and it should be ok but that just seams like a bad idea, I mean the pin shapes are different for a reason right! On my Mobo it is - Sqr | Rnd | Rnd | Sqr Rnd | Sqr | Sqr | Rnd On the Psu cable it is - Rnd | Sqr | Rnd | Rnd Sqr | Rnd | Rnd | Rnd All I can find when I search is cables that will fit the Mobo but nothing to fit the PSU end, does any one have any Ideas as to what I should do or where I can go to get this made up (pref. in EU but US will be cool too as I'm in the Uk). I did consider making this up my self then decided not to as it would be the first time and I don't want to risk the £550 I spent on this if I do it wrong. Ok so heres the photos, sorry for the over exposure on the second, just realised my diagram above is upside own

hi everyone,,,, i know the question i'm about to ask has a bit personal preference taste to it,but i want to know your opinions... i recently bought an EATX motherboard (asus rampage v edition 10) and now i want a full tower case for my new build....i want to know what are the best E-ATX supporting cases out there,,, i want a simple matte black minimalistic look on the case with side window and nothing fancy like gaming cases but i want it to be high end recent model...so are there any models that fit into these specifications? i like the coolermaster master case maker 5 but it doesn't support E-ATX....thanks...

Hey everybody, Does anyone know of an e-atx case that is somewhat small? I know that cases for eatx boards are on the larger size but I am really hoping to find one that would be about mid tower size or smaller. I have done a lot of looking and I can't find very much on the small side. It might be a long shot but if anyone knows of one I would really appreciate it if someone could share a name of a case with me. I don't need a ton of drive space or really any bells or whistles at all as long as it can fit a 12"x13" eatx board.

I'm building my new dual Xeon server rig, and I'm looking for suggestions for a case. My needs are: Sexy NAS Storage (4 or 6+ 3.5 drives, or 2+ 5.25s for conversion) BIG Window EATX/SSI-EEB form factor PSU shroud preferred, not needed Water cooling friendly is a must Any suggestions? Budget is flexible depending on features and sexiness. ?

Looking for case recommendations for a build I'm planning. I've been looking at the Thermaltake Core X9, so please hate on that if there's anything I should know. Requirements are: EATX Mobo (MSI X99 XPower Gaming Titanium) 8 PCIe slots (Might expand to Quad-SLI) 2x 2.5" SSD Bays 6x 3.5" HDD Bays 2x 120mm radiators (But would like 4) 1x 240mm or 280 radiator At least 2x 120mm fan mounts for case airflow in addition to radiators Would like 3x 5.25" Expansion Bays (2x for fan controller, 1x for HDD hotswap bay) but if there's a better way to do this, I'm all ears. I'd like to be able to sleep next to this while it's under load, so big fans in addition to the radiators are a must.

Hey guys Basilisk here. After changing the config of a build I have planed I unfortunately realised that the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv doesn't support the EAXT motherboard I was looking at using. That being the ASUS X370 ROG Crosshair VI Extreme. So I was wondering what is a case that will support an EATX motherboard such as the above listed and maintains the sleekness of the Enthoo Evolv. I would also like to keep it in a similar price range to the Enthoo Evolv unfortunately ruling out most CaseLabs cases as they would be perfect. This case would also need to be able to support up to a 360mm Radiator and have room to fit a full custom loop by EKWB. Hope you can help. Basilisk

Looking for a cool looking E-ATX Mobo. I've already ruled out the Cooler Master H500P, due to the high price tag and the build quality of a McDonalds toy. Looking for one that goes well with this motherboards colour:

Yo! So, I'll be moving to a different country soon. For this, I'll dismantle my PC and bring the parts, then get a new case over there. I'm planning out my desk setup and I want to get a white PC case. Now, there's a few caveats. My motherboard is EATX, which limits my case selection a bit. Also, I plan on swapping it out later because I'm running Intel right now, and I have a GTX970. I've been itching to go back to the red team and this seems to be the perfect time to do it. BUT, I want to do a fully white build and apparently there's no white motherboards for the TR4 socket yet (If I'm gonna swap to AMD I want to get the very best they have, it'll be useful for my 4k video editing). Also, even among the white cases, most are still black inside, which is a no-no! So I guess it'll be a step by step white build. First I'm moving my current components inside a white case, and then I'll slowly swap out the internals for white stuff. I guess one route I could go is get black stuff with RGB lighting, but this will create more of a black/white theme. I'm trying to go fully white! Any suggestions?

I'm looking to upgrade cases. Currently have the Phantom 820. My problem is, I need a larger PSU but I'm running into length clearance issues since I have a 280mm radiator on the bottom of the case as well. Can someone recommend me a case? No maximum budget, go crazy. Looking for: -Minimalist design, a la Enthoo Elite. -360mm+280mm rad support, at minimum. Rads are 60mm. -Support for SLI -Support for Corsair AX1500i -Preferably all-aluminum and tempered glass

Hello! I've been looking around, and i can't seem to find any good cases that fit my specific needs. i'm looking for a good case with eatx motherboard support, big case window/tempered glass side panel, and enough space to support a 360mm radiator both on top and in front. i've been looking around for awhile, and it's surprisingly scarce out there. case budget is $300. the case needs to be a standart atx format (no cubes or gpus extending to the other side of the case). the case can be new or old, just so long as it has a good internal view and has good clearance for both a top and front 360mm radiator setup. and looks clean. so a case like the dark base 900 pro is very nice, but because of it being so modular, the motherboard is too open, leading to a lot of visible cables. also good airflow is a priority, so a case with a blocked off top or front with only side vents like the h500p is not ideal. i refuse to use anything from ThermalFAKE. system will have 2 3.5inch hard drives, 2 2.5inch ssds, and one nvme m.2 which goes on the board. i also plan to expand, so good drive support is also needed.

Hello. I am looking to build a new main system featuring all of the newest amd parts. cpu will be a 1950x cooled with either a 240 or 360 clc at the front, a zenith extreme mobo with dual vega 64 liquid cooled edition cards powered by a 1200w platinum psu. the only question now is case. there's some things that i would like to see: tempered glass eatx mobo support full/super tower if possible. ample space for all the rads (240/360 at front for cpu & 2x 120 on top for vega rads) very few visible cables (options like dark base pro 900 have a lot of open space around the mobo tray, leaving lots of cables visible. basically asking for a solid mobo tray area) white/light in color to help bring out any rgb strip colors much better. although any color will do. if possible, a 90 degree setup to have the gpus standing vertically. although a normal layout will do. price range is $300. i refuse to use thermalfake. any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. i am not picky on time (i'm actually waiting to see if vega 64 lce goes down in price at all). so options that are out of stock now but will be back in stock later are fine with me.

I have an odd issue. Im using an ek dual pump res combo unit in a 5.25 bay. I also have fan controler and optical drive. I want to upgrade to a new case. Im in love with the corsair 570x but its too small and no optical bay. I have full custom loop and run an eatx build. I want rgb( i can add this), tempered glass, and rugged design. My budget for case is 400 or 500. I also would love rgb suggestions that can be syncronized. I can spend more there. I also would like to mount my 2 slot gpu vertically. I have a 3 slots of other pcie cards. Is there anything on the market? I know of the phantek elite but thats silly money.

Hey guys I need a favor. Can someone with a 900D measure the inside of the case. These are the measurements I need: the depth (inside from the motherboard tray to the inside of the side panel.) and from front to back (inside front starting with a hard drive cage inserted from the side of it to the back of the case). It would be nice if the measurements in metric (cm OR mm). A little preface as to why I am not doing this myself in my own case. I'm overseas trying to use my fathers workshop tools and acrylic to make a midplate and I left my measurements back at home.

Hey everyone! I am looking for advice and tips on case selection for a new high powered office environment build. I am building a system expected to generate a ton of heat from two graphics cards as well as both CPU and motherboard. I don't want to worry about maintenance, so I want to go air cooled and just vacuum dust filters every now and then. That said, I am hoping to also not end up with something excessively noisy. Flow-wise I would like: Intake: One or two side-panel mounted fans pointed at the two graphics cards. Two or three front panel fans blowing as unobstructed as possible at the motherboard (build target is NVME + SSD only). Exhaust One or two bottom-mounted fans sucking hot air from the graphics cards out without going over the motherboard and CPU first. Two or three top-mounted fans speeding up exhaust from motherboard and CPU. Balanced Direction of back fan would be dependent on the balance of the fan options in a given case. Given the current market swing for transparent side-panels, I have had a tough time locating good options offering side-panel fan mounts. Given my above wish list, this is the best option I have been able to locate: http://nanoxia-world.com/en/products/cases/deep-silence-series/deep-silence-6-rev.-b/209/deep-silence-6-rev.-b-dark-black?c=127#prettyPhoto I would be very curious to hear recommendations on alternatives or if people have experience with this specific model, opinions on that would be super helpful as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this far.

I just want to put my story out there in hopes that someone can learn from my experience and avoid the same fate. Back in May I decided my Mac Mini was no longer sufficient as a Plex server, and that it was time to build a new one. I had been reading about the awesomeness that is used LGA1366 Xeon cpus, and decided to take that route. I bought a used SuperMicro X8DTi-F board on eBay as well as 2 x5650 processors, a pair of cpu coolers, a 120gb SSD for the OS and 12 4gb sticks of ECC DDR3. I figured I’d throw my current HDDs in there for storage until I was ready to start adding more drives and finally go RAID5. It was going to be a sweet 12 core beast for pretty cheap. Unless you’re super into server boards, you may not be aware that the X8DTi-F is an E-ATX Mobo. We’re talking full the 12x13” standard size, not the 12x10.7” size that Asus and Gigabyte use for some of their gaming boards. I knew I was going to need a big case, since I’d have to house not only the board, but a bunch of drives, too. After browsing Newegg for far too long at work, I found the CoolerMaster Master Box 5. It was advertised as supporting full size E-ATX boards, and had the option to add additional hard drive cages (up to 4 for a total of 8 mechanical drives). So, I ordered the case, and planned to buy the additional cases once I was ready to expand (read: Once the wife would let me by more drives). That point came just after Christmas. I picked up a few 8tb easystores to shuck while they were on sale and quickly realized I had an issue. I didn’t notice until that point, but the motherboard hangs about an inch over where the HDD cages would mount. Shit. I reached out to @Coolermaster on twitter in hopes they could point me in the right direction and I was just overlooking something obvious. Do what now? I quickly checked the listing on NewEgg. Motherboard Compatibility: Micro ATX / ATX / Mini-ITX / E-ATX. Ok, maybe they were mistaken. I responded with a screenshot of their marketing materials showing it clearly printed as supporting up to E-ATX. Yes, Coolermaster support suggested I shove an 3.5” HDD into an SSD bracket. *facepalm* I questioned how it could be unofficial when it was printed all over the marketing material on every Master Box 5 listing on NewEgg and Microcenter, and discussed in several reviews. After several days without a reply, and a few friendly reminders that my issue was still outstanding, they finally responded that they were forwarding my issue to management, and that I should hear something soon. I got a response a couple days later stating that they weren’t responsible because I purchased the case through a 3rd party. This was an interesting response considering I had already provided them a copy of my order summary from Newegg showing that the case was shipped and sold directly by Newegg, which I reminded them of at this point. At this point, NewEgg reached out to volunteer to help, but since they weren’t directly responsible the most they were willing to do was provide an out of warranty return without a restocking fee. While generous, this would still leave me paying more for something my current case should already do. I will say, the Newegg reps were wonderful to work with and really sympathetic to my situation. They reached out to Coolermaster on my behalf and confirmed that Coolermaster removed E-ATX support at some point after my purchase and never bothered to notify them. On 1/16/19, they went ahead and updated their product listing to prevent this issue from recurring. (screenshot) SIDE NOTE: Microcenter still shows the original marketing material with full E-ATX support (screenshot). So, on my way home from work that evening, I decided to call Coolermaster support and see if I could explain myself and get a response in a reasonable timeframe. I talk to a rep named “Stephen” who seems super understanding. I give him the whole story and advised that he would talk to his manager and see what they could do. I ask for an ETA and am told that “everyone’s in a meeting right now, and all day tomorrow, and we’re only working a half day on Friday, and... (I zoned out at this point) …on Monday, so probably Tuesday I’ll have an update for you.” Sure, whatever, it may be a week away, but it will be an answer. An end to my story. A resolution. That was sent Friday (SWEET! 4 DAYS EARLY!) at 12:30pm, probably on his way out of the office for his half day. FUN! I quickly responded by reminding him that it was still plastered all over Newegg’s product pages until I brought it to their attention 2 days prior, and reminded them that it’s still on Microcenter’s product page. I’ve still yet to receive a response to my email. I tried to reach out to support by phone on Monday, but the number rings into full voicemail box for “Michael Cohen” and immediately disconnects. I finally gave up and contacted sales, where a rep answered immediately and greeted me with “Coolermaster Support.” I explained my situation and was advised that he didn’t have the ability to do anything to help, I asked to speak with someone above him who may be able to help and was transferred to another person who never provided his name. He explained that when Coolermaster was designing my case, they never actually thought anyone would try to install a 12x13” eATX case, even though they advertised that they supported it. He then tried to tell me that Newegg hasn’t carried the case in years, so I must have bought it from a third party. I tried to explain that I had sent screenshots of my order summary showing that it was sold direct by Newegg, but was interrupted and told it had to be a marketplace sale. I asked him to talk to the previous rep and look at the screenshots I had sent, but was ignored. I tried to again state my case, but the employee slammed the phone down, hanging up the line. So, at this point, I’ve given up on trying to get Coolermaster to stand behind their products and marketing materials and do anything to resolve my issue and will probably end up returning the case to Newegg and buying a Phanteks Enthoo Lux. I just wanted to share this story in hopes of saving even just one person from buying from Coolermaster and getting screwed over by them and their terrible customer support. TL;DR: Bought a Coolermaster case based on advertised features. Case doesn’t actually support advertised features. Coolermaster doesn’t care, lied to me, then ghosted me. Don’t buy shit from Coolermaster.
