I have tried a lot of things to somehow downgrade an asus tuf bios, nothing has worked for now, i tried to create a bootable usb following this tutorial: Luckily i tested it on my old laptop first, the motherboard is now completely bricked and i am somewhat terrified of trying any other method on my pc now Also, the asus ez flash utility 3 does not let you downgrade your bios, it doesn't even bother to explain that it doesn't want to downgrade to an older bios, it just tells the user that the bios they are downgrading to is an invalid file If someone has experience with this, pls share your wisdom.

UK BROADBAND SLOWS AND SUSPENDS NEW INSTALLATIONS Today the UK "Daily Express" reports on how the UK's ISP Infrastructure, Openreach take drastic action to suspend ALL, NEW INSTALLS for home broadband (with few exceptions) from today amidst the outbreak of COVID-19. Many current Customer's have their stream quality downgraded to 480p without warning including Amazon Prime Video Netflix , Disney+ , YouTube and download speed restrictions across console gaming from Playstation Network and XBOX Live In order to ease some of the pressure on the broadband infrastructure across the UK during the public health crisis. I'm getting a new pc (with lower specs than my current pc) for private use in my bedroom. The CPU will be a huge downgrade, it's going from my current Core i7-2600k to a Pentium G4560. I was wondering if I could simulate the 2 cores, 4 threads 3.5 Ghz on my i7. I DON'T have an overclockable motherboard (yes, that's weird because I have an unlocked CPU) but can I simulate the performance with 3rd party programs? I want to test the performance of a simulated G4560. There aren't many (trustworthy) benchmarks of the G4560 and I just want to see how much performance I could get out of it. Thanks in advance.

So I accidentally flashed a new version of a BIOS onto my motherboard thinking it would fix the issues I was having with the old version. About 5 minutes later I realized that it was the complete opposite. The new bios wouldn't even let me into the bios without having the motherboard speaker beep at me. The motherboard I am currently using is the Gigabyte H270-HD3 Rev. 1

Hello, I recently purchased an Asus ROG laptop GL502VSK. It came with Windows 10 Home. After spending several hours getting rid of bloatware and configuring the OS I had enough. I can't stand Windows 10 and I would like to downgrade back to 8.1 which is the OS I run on my desktop and old laptop. Will I lose any hardware related functionality from the downgrade? How can gather all the drivers before I swap or format the harddrive (I haven't decided if I'm going to format or use the opportunity to get a bigger SSD) to make the transition smoother and make sure everything works on windows 8.1? Any advice is appreciated! HIPB

Hello! My Logitech G930s 7.1 doesn't work and I got told that maybe using the headset with a USB 2.0 port would fix my problem, I have 2 USB 2.0 ports on my case, but I can't use them because both of my usb 2.0 headers are in use. So I thought that maybe if I would downgrade one of my USB 3.0 ports to USB 2.0 I could test if 7.1 would work again. Is downgraded USB 3.0 the same thing as a "original" USB 2.0 port? And can I just downgrade one of my USB 3.0 ports instead of all of them? Edit: Forgot to say that all of my USB 2.0 headers are in use Thank you!

Hi. I'm planning to downgrade my windows 10 1809 to 1803 due to recent weird performance in some games such as bf1 etc. My question is, is there any way I can downgrade without losing my main drive data, just the windows is downgraded? Or will I have to format my C drive and just do a fresh install? Keep in mind that I want the programs to work correctly after downgrading if I choose not to do a fresh install. Is that possible? Thank you in advance.

Gigabyte z270x Aorus Gaming 5... I've experienced some performance drops since i installed the latest bios which contains a "cpu microcode update" and I would like to go back to one of the following: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270X-Gaming-5-rev-10#support-dl-bios Let's say i don't care about the security patches and i roll it back to the F7 version, the biggest question is... Would that remove the cpu microcode update? Or is it pointless since it won't remove the microcode update from the CPU? Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

Hello, I have a lexar 64gb usb 3.0 drive that worked well for a year almost, reading with almost 400MB/s and writing with about 250MB/s on average. Yesterday it just downgraded to usb2.0 speeds and reads/writes with 40MB/s . I tried format i tested in 3 different pcs with windows with linux, no change. Windows tells me "this device could perform faster if plugged into a usb 3.0 port" and i'm like You don't say ? I've been using it for a year i know for sure it's in a usb 3.0 port. What can i do to make it work at usb 3.0 speeds again ? can it be a hardware problem ? I'm pretty tech savy and don't mind reflashing it's firmware it's just that i have no experience dealing with this particular type of problem.

Hi, I have a problem with installing LineageOS on Huawei Y560-L01. I'm stuck in the bootloader unlocking stage. When I enter the command to unlock the bootloader, the error "OEM unlock is not allowed" pops up even though it is enabled in the programming options. I have read that this is done by the system version named B046. I am now trying to downgrade the android to B040 via update from external sdcard, but I get the error "Can not install this package. Error (Status 7)). What should I do now? neither can I try to android or upload twrp. As you all know, GPUs are not cheap, especially where I live, so, instead of getting a 1060 6GBs, I've been considering the idea of the 1050 Ti that one store owner offered me. It's more or less 40% cheaper than the 1060s that I have found. Thing is, would this 1050 Ti be a downgrade? Some numbers are lower, but others are higher. The 1060s are a lot more pricey, but I still can pay it I you guys think that the 1050 is not a good idea. I'm not really searching for an upgrade, I was pretty fine with the 280X, but don't want a downgrade either. I'll leave the specs of the two cards here. I'm not good with these numbers. I was wondering if I could just downgrade my version of windows from 1709 FCU to 1703 CU, since my blue screening problems that I keep getting could probably be blamed on the OS itself, based on when Microsoft recently admitted that 1709 FCU caused problems like this for many other devices. Since you could update to newer versions of windows via running the setup from a flash drive without losing the data from the boot drive, could it be possible to downgrade via the same process so I don't have to lose my data. (I assume it wouldn't work since it's older than my currently installed version) I couldn't rollback because I recently reformatted my boot drive and reinstalled 1709 hoping it would fix itself with a completely clean reinstall. The BSOD would always show this error: VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (what failed: nvlddmkm.sys) -This would always happen when I run Adobe programs for their emphasis on using the GPU, and sometimes while gaming -Only ever happens when my laptop is plugged in I could've just checked for myself whether this would work but the ISO file for 1703 is still downloading as of right now.

Yeah, complicated title... Essentially my laptop shipped with windows 8, later updated to 8.1, and then its MoBo died, and it got replaced, and the HDD got formated and the PC came back with windows 8.1. Meanwhile I upgraded it to windows 10, but it just doesn't fit my personal preferences... Is there any way I can downgrade to Windows 7 using my current activation key? pls halp

My current rig is great with games, but I want to edit videos as well. My hardware can barely handle it, so I'm looking at some new parts with better specs on paper. I want to know if it's an upgrade, or not worth it. Current rig:https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mRjFsJ Potential Upgrade: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/P82nnn

So, I just found this video showcasing nvidia having problems with the new Halo 5 Forge game. Basically, nvidia cards do not show the water effects at the same quality level as AMD cards. The user, who uploaded the video shows us the same scene recorded with four cards (gtx 750ti, gtx 950, gtx 1060 and the rx 480) and all nvidia cards failed to deliver the same quality as the rx 480. There were actually four games this year, that had nvidia cards reducing graphics settings ashes of the singularity, rise of the tomb raider, Doom (as showcased by Tech yes city) and finally halo 5 forge.

Hi! So, i'm in a bit tricky situation where i have an Asus laptop with Windows 10 Pro in it and i have some parts ordered for a PC build that are on their way. Of course, i forgot to get an any kind of OS with it (newbie mistakes ?) I don't have alot of money right now (most of it went on the PC parts) and i need to get a OS for it from somewhere quickly. My Asus laptop originally came with an OEM Windows 7 and i upgraded it to Windows 8 Pro some time ago. And i've performed the free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for it. Sooo... I thought that because my laptop came with an OEM Windows 7, could i downgrade it to its original OS and still use my Windows 8 key on the new build? Thanks!

So I've been seriously considering dropping down a tier of performance for my gaming PC (listed in my signature). Since building my server, it really has nullfied the need for my 5820k (and now I also rarely play games). As fantastic as my X99 PC is, and as much as I love it, it went from not being utilized much to pretty much never, its seriously overkill for my needs and anything I would need it for my server can do twice as fast. The items I would be selling would be my CPU, motherboard, RAM, CPU cooler, and PSU. Whats the lowest I can downgrade my CPU/motherboard and still be able to power the top-tier GPU for the next 1-2 years? i5-6500? I would like to go to skylake for the newer tech but im fine with something like a 4690. I will probably sell my 390X and get a 480 (or two!) if it lives up to expectations as well. How much money do you think I could make selling my 5820k, motherboard, CPU cooler, power supply, and RAM if I sold them individually? I know my CPU is a good overclocker too, does that factor into its value at all?

Hey all! I hope many of you got to enjoy the Beta, I sure did, I ran it with a 980 Ti with 4790K. Cranking everything to max, 1080P. Personally, I thought the game looked fantastic. I read the thread claiming Ubisoft downgraded it, I believed the thread as well, but the PC Beta proved me wrong. The visuals was fantastic with details everywhere. In fact I find it disappointing just how much of what you see is just shiny walls. Nothing can be interacted with. Like seriously, running for minutes is annoying when there are bikes all over the place... I digress, what do you guys think? I added a poll. Let the vote begin! Please, don't vote on the pole unless you seen/played the PC beta on max settings

Hi guys, This is my first post here but, I am really curious as to know which i5 processor I can downgrade to from my old i7 950. My primary focus is gaming and the reason why I am thinking of downgrading is because my i7 950 runs on a ASUS P6T deluxe which is a LGA1366 board and those boards are not available in my country (I built my PC in USA and then moved). Good news is that now my country has all the latest tech so please suggest. I run a EVGA GTX 780 and would to find any i5/motherboard combo that doesn't bottleneck on my graphics card. Thank you very much. P.S.- Not entirely against AMD but, come on. P.S.- My motherboard blew up thats why I am downgrading.
