I've spent the last 2 nights looking for a cart on wheels for my Fractal Design Define R6 tower. Pulling this thing out from under my desk is killing my back. Anyone know of a cart that's 9-10 in wide, and 22 in long? All the carts I find are short, and that would make it impossible for me to pull out the filter screen without having to take it off the stand. I'm trying to avoid picking this thing up if I don't need to. Also if a short cart would support this heavy beast on the thin filter frame. Pretty sure it would snap immediately. I can't build my own since I only have no power tools. Could really use some help. ~ Jo

Hey guys, So last year when i first build my computer (i said first because i added some other parts over the time) i took the Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5 RGB not because of the RGB (there's not one single light in my computer ahah) but because it was cheap, big enough and i didn't payed attention to what make a case a good case. So lately i managed to use the front panel of the MB500 on it and 2x140mm NF-A14 from noctua (running at 1100rpm) to improve the airflow of my case and i noticed that on the cpu AND gpu there was a 10°C of difference but now i have an another problem, i want to add more Hard Drives to my computer but there's only two HDD trays so i'm gonna change my case and saw that the Fractal Define R6 seems to be the case i'm looking for (and not too expensive too) and my question is, can i put the front panel of the Meshify C on the Define R6 to improve the airflow ? I saw on a Gamer Nexus review that thermal performance was pretty good on the Define R6 and if i can i really want to improve that even more. Thanks for those who will reply and sorry if my message is hard to understand, i'm not really good in other languages and even in my native language (so french) i don't know how to be really clear ahah

I built a PC for the first time last summer. I installed a GIGABYTE Z390 UD LGA 1151 motherboard into a DIY case, but I was never able to get the IO shield to snap into place. I eventually got frustrated and gave up. I am going to rebuild that PC into a Fractal Design R6 case. I hope to gain more experience (without having to buy all the components of a new PC) and ideally do a much better job of cable management. I haven't started to disassemble it yet, but I have tried to install the IO shield and I just can't seem to install it. The next time I buy a motherboard, I think I will look into one of those MSI boards that don't use a separate shield, although I am pretty sure that would be an example of the tail wagging the dog in terms of motherboard selection. But is there some trick to installing an IO shield or does this model just suck in this regard?. I would appreciate any (helpful suggestions. Thank you.

So I was wondering if they made a distribution plate for the R6 or if there are any that are known to fit in it? Also, I am really annoyed by the full length of the PSU shroud that the R6 has and was wondering if anyone has seen a mod that has it cut back or would it affect the structural integrity of the case.

My AIO had some problems so I RMA'd it and I'm replacing it with the Noctua nh d15, the only problem is that I have high profile Trident Z 3600 ram. The case is a Define r6 with a max cpu cooler height of 185 mm, the noctua is 165 mm tall. I can mount the front fan higher to get clearence for the ram (13mm ish), technically everything should fit but i'm a first time pc building noob and want to make sure. Will the cooler fit in the case with the front fan mounted 12-16 mm higher?

Hello, I'm looking to grab some adressable RGB strips and fans, and were wondering how I could make this all work. I have an ASUS z390-f gaming motherboard, that comes with only one 5V 3pin ARGB header, and 2 non-Argb 4pins. I would like to have about 3 ARGB fans along with at least 2 ARGB strips. I could not find anything straight up about this, all the connectors are unclear for me so I need help! It is important for me to find the cheapest solution (I know about ROG Terminal but thats just too expensive atm (saving up for 1440p 144hz monitor and a gpu that can run games on that), altough if it's the only option to meet my standards i will list below i will have no other opportunity then to go with that?) So what I'm looking for is your best ideas for: ARGB fans that are ASUS AURA compatible and as cheap as they can get, ARGB LED Strips that are also ofc AURA compatible, and as cheap as they can get, And a best & cheapest solution to make these all work with a mobo like mine, with only 1 ARGB header. So I need a controller of some sort too. This is what the PC looks like now, feel free to tell me how you think I should configure the rgb for it! Also, an off topic question (that I still do have so ill ask anyways) Does anyone have experience with LED strip placement in the Fractal design Define R6? I wonder how many strips I should get, and where to put them, and also, I'll buy the GPU riser from fractal design, but the gap between the vertical slots and the tempered glass seem pretty little, so if I bought a beefier card in the future, something like a 2070S strix or aorus ed, would you think that it will fit? My GPU is in process of RMA right now, if you were wondering where it was. It's a strix 1060 6gb, it had faulty LED-s. (yes I RMA-d it for its LED-s, it's important for me ok?) Ty!

I bought the Define R6 case. I like everything about this case, except for the void created when you move the hard drive wall back. I've been informed by someone at Fractal Design that the "PSU Cover Bracket" from the Define S2 "Can technically fit in the R6." Quoted the email from Fractal Design. Fractal Josh, could you help me out if you see this? Anyone else, do you have an S2? Are you using that cover? If anyone has a gray one they aren't using, I would love to get ahold of one! This part should really be included with the R6. I have white cables, so they are VERY visible from certain angles. Any help would be GREAT!

Hi I am running a custom loop in a Define R6: It has the following specs: Fractal Design Define R6 Blackout - Tempered Glass USB-C Corsair HX1000i power supply Cablemod Pro Modmesh C-series kit ASUS PRIME Z270-A motherboard Intel i7 7700K (4.2-4.5gHz) - @4.8gHz G.Skill DDR4 Neo 16GB (2x8GB) 3600Mhz C16 - (f4-3600c16d-16gtznc) Samsung 960EVO 500GB NVME - Win 10 Samsung 860 EVO 1TB - data IOGEAR Bluetooth 4.0 adapter MSI GTX1080Ti GamingX x2 + 2x EK-FC1080 GTX Ti TF6 Waterblocks EK D5 PWM + 250mm EK-RES X3 RGB Aqua-Computer Aquaero 6LT Aqua-Computer High Flow sensor USB HWlabs Black Ice Nemesis GTS360 radiator x2 EK Supremacy EVO cpu waterblock EK chrome fittings, PETG 3x 120mm NF-F12 Industrial PPC-2000 PWM 3x 120mm NF-F12 PWM Chromax 1x 140mm NF-A14PWM Chromax I'm waiting out Zen 3 to build a new system, which I will likely watercool again. I'm thinking of a single RTX3080 or RTX3090, either a ASUS Crosshair Hero or Aorus Master X570 board and then a 4xxx cpu. A 4900x could be a candidate, but a 4700x as well. I use the machine with a 21:9 1440p 144hz monitor, for office work, the occasional Davinci Resolve and Adobe Lightroom and a bit of gaming in the evening as well. I have a 16" macbook as well for most work activities.. While the current machine is no slouch, it is not as quiet as I would have hoped. Performance wise the 7700K is holding me back in newer titles and SLI is, well, dead... I keep the Delta T around 10 degrees with the Aquaero and even in games that don't use SLI (Like AC:Odyssey) the fans ramp up fairly high to maintain that Delta T. Also the pump has to run near max rpm to achieve a flow of 180L/h. The pump also induces some kind of rattle on certain rpm's, that I think is caused by substandard mechanical de-coupling the pump / res from the chassis. The front of the R6 has a crack in the bottom frame (I believe from ripping it off it's studs often to access for maintenance, this is likely contributing as well, but it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what the cause is. So, for an update I would re-use my cooling gear where possible. I love the Noctua fans, HWlabs radiators and the Aquaero. I heard the pump/res combo from EK is not the best for noise reduction and have been advised to consider a Heatkiller reservoir for a much better mechanical de-coupling. I also have a HWlabs SR2 360x60mm lying around from a previous build. So, I would like less fan noise, less rattling and if possible also less pump noise. The heat load should go down, from 500+W on the twin 1080Ti's to 350-ish on a GA102 based GPU. A new CPU with more cores might add a bit more heat, but it should not be more than what I run now. I also consider undervolting components whenever possible. The flow should go up ideally. Slim GTS rads reduce the flow a lot, but in a new situation with a single GPU, I would have one GPU block less. I have been considering switching the R6 out for a O11-Dynamic XL and putting the 2 slim rads in the top and rear, and the SR2 in the bottom with a new set of Noctua's NF-F12 PWM Chromax. An SR2 has very low flow resistance... The SR2 does not fit in the R6, only 2 GTS's fit together. The construction to hide the flow meter under the reservoir and add a drain required a few extra 90 degree angles and T-pieces... Maybe I could try and simplify that as well to allow the flow to increase so I can lower the pump RPM a bit... Is there anyone here who can give me advice on a strategy to have an understated looking PC (the thing has RGB, but it's turned off most of the time, it intentionally looks "generic business" apart from the TG panel), that has excellent cooling for a 3080/3090 + 8-12 core cpu and does so with the least noise possible, I would be grateful... Keeping cooling hardware is nice, but not essential...

Hi everyone, I just finished my first PC build and it's awesome! Got it to work on first boot. There is only one question which boggles my mind a bit, which is this: How can I get the three stock case fans that come with the Fractal Define R6 to adjust their speed according to load? My motherboard is the ASUS Z370-E. See two attached images for better understanding: Currently I have my two 4-pin CPU fans connected directly to the motherboard on headers CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT. They work just fine, adjusting their speed via PWM as CPU temperature increases. The three stock Fractal case fans which are all 3-pin are connected to the three 4-pin headers of the Define R6 fan hub which is in turn connected via 4-pin to the CHA_FAN1 header on the motherboard. I tried connecting the case fans to the 3-pin connectors on the hub first, but in that case the RPM didn't get reported at all, it showed as 0 even though the fans were spinning at 100%. Now RPM shows around 930 and it seems to be fixed no matter the load, even if I set CHA_FAN1 to DC manually in the BIOS. Does anyone know what I can do here so the 3-pin fans can at least be controlled via DC? Or is 930 RPM at idle acceptable for case fans? My main concern here is durability and longevity, noise is acceptable for me, it's not too loud. Thanks for your help!

Hey, I'm upgrading my current pc with some parts after my GPU died, and wasn't sure what the best airflow setup would be, hoping for some advice. The new case I'm getting is the Fractal Design Define R6. The only thing I have set in stone in my mind is for the 280mm rad to be front mounted. I'm running a 1080ti was thinking of going for the top two fan's and the back fan on the exhaust and probably an intake on the bottom or something like that so the to try and gain a neutral pressure and avoid negative pressure. Thanks for any of the help.

Hello guys, I'm new. Please welcome me pleasingly, thank you. Anyways I can't decide if I would want the Corsair 500D or the Define R6 for a future build. They seem very sleek and nice to build in. They both feature nice tempered glass front panels. I have seen many videos of both of them and just can't decide. The 500D looks like airflow is not as good as the Define R6. I also will be adding a 240mm rad on the front if you also needed to know that. IMHO, I would get the Define R6, but I want to know your guys opinion on which case I should get. This is my first topic, I don't know if its short or not. You can just ask questions down below so...

Hello! I've been wracking my brain and scraping at the walls of the Internet this whole week and I need to settle before I lose my mind. I'm making a R7 2700x build with a Noctua NH-D15. I know I went for one heck of a furnace of a card in the ZOTAC AMP Extreme 1080 ti but it's coming on Friday and I would rather complete this build this coming week. My idea so far is: CPU: NH-D15 (leave the stock fans on there) Front: x3 120mm NF-A12x25 Rear: x1 140mm NF-A14 I would rather keep the top on, but that's not always a given. I do NOT have the entire thing in front of me and of course my mileage will vary, but I am calling upon the brilliant minds here to see if there's been a close enough comparison or personal experience to be close to what I'm about to get in to. I have used the search function but not seen much close to this, and other sites devolve into "why not water" situations. I am NOT using an AIO. This will be air only. Should 1 exhaust be okay, or should I cram another in/yank PCI slot covers to allow a better throughput?

I know a lot of people have purchased this case for water cooling and are not using all the hard drive trays. I'm planning on building a media server in this case, but I need more trays. I live in the Ottawa area, Canada. I'm hoping that there are enough people on here willing to part with 1 tray. I need a total of 5 on top of the 6 that come with the awesome case. If you are that somebody please let me know. Thanks.

I'm considering buying the Fractal Design Define R6 White Tempered Glass case as a future upgrade for my build, but I have a few questions about it before I upgrade. Would it be able to fit a hardline custom loop with a CPU, 2 GPUs and a large pump/res combo in it? If was to remove the drive cages in the front of the case, would I have anywhere else to mount 3.5" drives or would I be stuck with 2.5" and M.2? Should I bother with a radiator on the bottom, or skip it since I'm already planning for a 360 and a 420? If I remove the front HDD mount, would I be able to put a thick 420 rad with push-pull fans and a thin 360 on top at the same time? Thanks a lot in advance! Hope you have a nice day or night depending on your time zone.

Cheaper than the solid side panel version!!!! Ends Saturday I'm not sure. It's now Monday and it's still on sale, with no exact "end by date" July 20th according to Fractal's Instagram post posted 5 minutes ago https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352078&cm_re=r6-_-11-352-078-_-Product

Greetings everyone. As the title suggests, I am planning to do a quiet/silent gaming PC. After extensive research, I have arrived at the following list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/s6FbRJ Here are my justifications for the list: I chose an aircooler and not a CLC because I read on multiple forums that a big air cooler is usually quieter. And I chose the NH-D15 in particular because of the quiet fans that it comes with and the ease of installation. I chose the Strix Z370-E motherboard for the fan controls implemented in the BIOS. I'm not that good with choosing a motherboard, any other suggestion is welcome. The MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X was praised in many reviews by how quiet it was, and I think that this is due to the beefy heatsink and the two large diameter fans. This is one of the components that I researched the most, because the graphics card is usually the loudest component in a high-end configuration. The Define R6 is known as one of the best noise-insulating cases on the market. I chose the one without a TG side panel for obvious reasons (both sides have noise-dampening foam). Also, the fans that come with the case (Dynamic X2 GP-14) are very quiet, according to this article. Some might think that the PSU is way overkill for this configuration. But I purposely chose a high wattage PSU because that way the fan will not rotate at all (or rotate at a very low speed). The only thing that I'm worried about is the HDD. I don't have much experience with Seagate drives, I only owned a 2TB Barracuda for about a year and a half, and I couldn't even hear that drive, there were other components in my previous system that made more noise. This was my previous configuration: ASRock Z77 Extreme4, Core i5 3470, Thermalright True Spirit 140 BW (rev. A), Sapphire R9 280X Dual-X, 2 x Be Quiet Pure Wings 2 140mm fans (in front), 1 x 140mm stock fan (came with the case), 1 x Noctua NF-S12A top, a Super Flower Golden Green 750W PSU (these are usually found in Europe, Super Flower is the OEM for EVGA; I live in the U.S. now) all inside a Phanteks Enthoo Pro Windowed version (replaced the front 200mm fan with the two Be Quiet fans). I would like to remain in the around $2,000 mark. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Hello there forum. I recently purchased a Define R6, which I'm very, very happy with. I've also recently acquired a 8700K that is baller as hell compared to my old 3770. But the Noctua Dh-9L cooler I have doesn't really cut it and I want to run my CPU colder. My temperatures are fine at 65-71C after a few hours of gaming but I've decided I want better cooling anyways. Then comes the age old question of aircooled or watercooled. I'm well aware of the pros/cons of both systems by themselves, I just need some input on what would fit my application the best. It all comes down to my case and how I've configured it. I'm running three GP-14 intake fans(two front and one bottom) and one GP-14 as exhaust(back). This is fairly effective of cooling everything, plus the added bonus of less dust buildup due to the positive air pressure. EDIT: I returned my 8700 non-K and got an 8700K. So here's my actual question: If, for example, I run a 280mm cooler up top, pushing air through the radiator and out the top as exhaust. Will I have to add another intake to keep positive pressure in the case? Alternatively, if I remove the rear fan and use the radiator fans as exhaust, will my cooling really be that effective? My case isn't particularly hot inside from what I can tell. My aircooled alternative is a something like a Noctua DH-15 with the fan pointed towards the rear exhaust and the top port closed off, like my current setup. Thanks in advance! Here's a picture of how it currently sits. I do not run any HDD's in the bay except for one at the very top which doesn't block any airflow. It's completely open behind the cover.

Hi all, I am hoping to fit a 1080ti w/ Raijintek Morpheus II and a 1060 6GB FE into a Fractal Design Define R6. I would like to stick to a mid tower for this build if at all possible. My plan is to mount the 1080ti with the raijintek morpheus directly to the motherboard, along a the wifi card and tb3 card, then mount the 1060 FE with stock cooler on the vertical gpu mount using the pcie extension on a lower pcie slot on the motherboard. I want to know if this will all fit in a Fractal Design Define R6 (No TG). I want to stay away from water cooling because I will be moving this computer around quite often, and am not really interested with the maintenance involved with a custom loop. I could potentially consider a hybrid cooler for the 1080ti, but I would like to keep this build as quiet as possible. I plan on running the 1060 blower fan as low as possible, hoping I won't have to get a different cooler for it (I already own the card, don't want to have to buy another one just for the cooler). So I've had a Define R6 White TG on pre-order through New Egg since Jan 17th of this year. I have been waiting very patiently and using my test bench in the mean time. Now Lian Li just released the PC-O11 Dynamic (also in White) and I don't know which one I want more. I think the Define R6 has a more classic and elegant look, but the Dynamic just looks sweet. It looks like the Dynamic may also have a little more room for a custom loop with more radiator support. I'm running a 360 and a 240 radiator with a pump/res combo. Also 1070's in SLI. Just wanted to see what the community thinks would be the better case. Ultimately I know it comes down to which I like more, but I can't decide. Any input is welcomed. Thanks guys!

Is there any way (other than hunting down other R6 owners) to get additional HDD/SSD trays for Define R6? R6 is capable of 11x 3.5" and 4x 2.5" disks. But package includes only 6x 3.5" trays and 2x 2.5". It sucks. Especially considering R5 natively supported 8x 3.5" or 10x with simple generic 5" -> 3.5" adapter available everywhere.

I am contemplating my next PC case I currently have a Corsair 760t. I am looking for something that will comfortably house my Corsair h150i AIO (360mm radiator).

Hey, i know i can put a Optical Drive into the R6. My question is, can i still do it when i put the panel that's near the Tempered Glass back to the level where the Mainboard sits? What interests me is, is the Optical Drive mounted in the back site of the panel? Or does it even matter? I don't know how to explain this in a better way.+ I put a Picture in here so you see what panel i mean.

So this might be a bit of an odd question to ask, but I figured I would ask anyway. In the near future I'm planning to upgrading from my old 3570k CPU and I've been playing with the thought of buying a Define R6 along with it. The thing is currently I have everything running in a Define R4 case which I bought two years ago and is still in perfect condition. Honestly I love the R4, I removed the upper drive-cage and my thermals are okay, the CPU is cooled by a Dark Rock 3 and my GPU is a Palit 1070 Dual which is a bit loud but that's down to the card itself. Over the past months I really fell in love with the whole idea of tempered glass cases and really working on the insides of my rig, I'm even contemplating jumping fully on the RGB train, moving my PC from below to onto my desk and have it double as a semi-serious desk light but I feel like I would add 150€ to my upgrade expenses for something that isn't really worth 150€ all things considered. I watched many reviews about the R6 already but haven't found any direct comparison between the R4 and the R6. Would I lose any noticeable real-world performance on the noise-damping and thermal front? I know the long drive-array of the R6 can't be removed and I watched Luke's workshop video on airflow but I still feel like I might lose out on something. Also could it be that the white variant of the R6 still isn't available in Europe? I only see the various black colors in online-shops. Thanks for any input in advance

Hello guys, I am wondering if there is any news, gossip or signs that Fractal Design might release an upgrade to the Define S to update it with features similar to Define R6 or release some kind of Meshify S the same size as Define S(which would be even better cooling wise). Fractal are a bit slow when it comes to updating their cases, not long ago they didn't even have tempered glass options but I am hopeful that they will revise the S at some point in the not too distant future. What do you think?
