Hello, I'm going to buy a PC. I've been thinking about the processor I had in mind: the Intel Core i5 12600KF or the Ryzen 7600. I'm going to use my PC for gaming, broadcasts, video and photo editing programs. And there something a little heavier. Well, where I live in Peru. The price of the 12600kf is $198 and the 7600 is $227. What do you recommend (for performance and updates it is worth paying $30 more for the AMD one)

Hi, I'm buying my first gaming PC. Well, I was looking at two processors to see which one to choose, one Intel and the other AMD. I will be using this PC for gaming, streaming, and video and photo editing programs. Well, they have recommended two processors from Intel, it is the Intel Core i5 12600KF and from AMD, the Ryzen 5 7600. Well, I currently reside in Peru. Below I am going to put the prices of the processors in the most popular stores in the country where I live (It should be noted that I also put the Ryzen 5 7600x since I think it has a bit of oc) These are the stores: IMPACTO: INTEL CORE I5 12600KF: DOES NOT HAVE RYZEN 5 7600: $227 RYZEN 5 7600X: $266 CYC COMPUTER: INTEL CORE I5 12600KF: $244 RYZEN 5 7600: DOES NOT HAVE RYZEN 5 7600X:$270 MEMORY KINGS: INTEL CORE I5 12600KF: $218 RYZEN 5 7600: DOES NOT HAVE RYZEN 5 7600X:$279 SERCOPLUS: INTEL CORE I5 12600KF: $198 RYZEN 5 7600:$227 RYZEN 5 7600X: $256 Just in case the PC I'm building is mid-range I have a maximum budget of $1100.Thank you

Hello newbie here, I just buy my new CPU that is Ryzen 5 5600 and I test benchmark using cinebench 24 it goes lower than I search in google. here's the rest of my system specs : •AMD Ryzen 5 5600 •Sapphire Rx 6600 Pulse 8GB •MSI B450M-A Pro Max (already updated the bios before installing the cpu) •FSP HV 85+ Pro 550W Bronze 80+ •2x XLR8 8GB 3200 MHz •PNY 256GB m.2 NVME SSD •Windows 10 The First Test -GPU : 6335 pts -CPU (Multi Core) : 236 pts -CPU (Single Core) : 75 pts -MP Ratio : 3.16x The Second Test -GPU : 6335 -CPU (Multi Core) : 296 pts -CPU (Single Core) : 118 PTS -MP Ratio : 3.19 I already do some research about it and when I open my task manager it show the CPU doesn't show 12 logical threads and instead it shows Cores : 2 Logical Processors : 4 But when I do some research on Google, it should show 6 cores and 12 logical processor. Please Help

One of the last remaining desktop CPU makers was recently disbanded. Their last prototype, codenamed Centaur Hauls, promised much more than a normal processor could do…

I reacently upgraded my PC yesterday. The new CPU I have which is a Ryzen 9 7900X3D and I have a new motherboard. I was testing games yesterday and for some reason in Overwatch it defaults my GPU to the integrated graphics in my CPU. What's wierd is that I was achieving 164 frames but there's so much screen tearing and it didn't feel smooth. The fps doesn't drop at all and it's not stuttering it just feels unsmooth. However apparently you can disable the integrated graphics on device manager and I disabled it and the game does switch to my main GPU according in game settings it says my GPU's name. But it felt like the exact same just screen tearing and unsmoothness. I'm guessing the game is still using my integrated GPU somehow. It's dumb that this indie game company can't even add a simple setting what display adapter ur using. I did change my motherboard and it was a TUF gaming b450 plus am4 socket motherboard and my old CPU was a Ryzen 7 5800x. My new motherboard is now a MSI PRO B650-P WIFI AM5 AMD B650. I tried everything I could to fix this screen tearing and unsmoothness it even screen tears on the menu of the game. Any fixes?

I am losing my mind. I have received a new motherboard, CPU, and power supply after previously RMAing the last ones. When everything arrived I reassembled the PC to try again. At first it booted to the BIOS as seen below. No bootable devices detected but that's okay. Friend says CPU fan plugged to pump so let's power off and fix that. On the next boot, I get a solid VGA light: the 4090 is not detected. I unplug it and unseat it, power on. Absolutely nothing. The board receives power, as its RGB is on when plugged in. But the front power switch and power switch on the mobo do not turn it on. At this point I'm going mad. I check all the connections: CPU, motherboard, SATA, everything. Nothing is loose. I try again. Failure to start. Having failed to troubleshoot one problem before another propped up, I have to ask myself: is this new HX1000i faulty? I try my old EVGA 850w power supply that I know for a fact worked last week before I powered off my PC to salvage parts. Answer? Yes, it still works! The RGB on the mobo comes on. I try powering the PC on again. Same problem. I am beginning to think every PC I build is developing sentience and refusing to work for me. Please help. This is causing me no shortage of anxiety. OS: Windows 10 64-bit BIOS version: 2613 CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D GPU: RTX 4090 Mobo: ASUS PRIME X670E-PRO 2 M2 ssds, 2 2.5 ssds, 2 hdds PSU: Corsair HX1000i HSF: Dark Rock Elite 10 fans connected to Thermaltake fan hub (Important: I flashed the BIOS to the recent version the day before receiving a new CPU. I don't know if this hurt anything, but the fact it started before after the flash appeared to be successful according to instructions makes me believe it didn't.)

So I'm looking into PC compatibility issues, and one point of concern that I found out is that CPUs have a memory speed limit. Specifically, I'm looking at 12700k, which has a memory speed limit of up to 4800 DDR5. So will running a higher speed than this be 1. Still beneficial, over the same capacity 4800? And if so, by how much as compared to a CPU that supports it? 2. Simply run the memory as 4800? or 3. Cause a worse performance than 4800, or even simply be incompatible (crashes, not booting up)? P.S.: How important are ram timings for things like casual gaming / everyday use? Would a difference between 16.5 ns first word latency and 12.5 ns first word latency even be noticeable, or what change in fps in games?

Hello All, I'm taking the step to building a dedicated streaming build. I have both the 5800x3D and the 10900KF lying around, which I'm going to use to build with. Is anyone able to assist in giving me a suggestion as to which one to use: Which one has better encoding performance? Which one would be better at processing quality? Any advice about the CPUs will be appreciated massively. Please note, this machine will solely be a streaming PC. thank you in advance.

Build: CPU: 12400f Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin Mini 120 Thermal Paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Motherboard: MSI Pro B760-P Wifi DDR4 Case: Cooler Master K350 Case Fans: Front intake, bottom intake, rear exhaust. All case fans are Arctic P12s Idle temps are in the 30s, high 30s if I had already pushed the CPU since boot, low 30s if not. Ran Prime95 for 2 hours and temps held stable at 92 degrees with 0 throttling. With the stock cooler I was reaching 100 and throttling but not enough to cause crashes, just lowered clock speeds. Idle on the stock cooler was in the 40s. Aren't these temps still high considering the CPU?

Hi, I got a Ryzen 7 5800X and it's running always at top clock speed and I don't know why. I'm worried about its health and the damages it could cause, can you guys help me and enlight me on this subject ? Is it normal ? excessive ? and what should I do ? It has always been that way, and even after fresh restarts (reinstalling windows) it's still the same. Like when windows is absolutely naked, it runs at 4.2 GHz at 0% usage. I'm worried I even changed the motherboard, and I guess this excludes all kind of overclocking (which I didn't do) because it's been the same before and after the switch. Please help

Why don't we have one time zone that is the same everywhere, however in some places in the world i.e. Australia it would be light at 1am and dark at 1pm. This would therefore create a less confusing situation between people in different countries. Surely that's a more effective way of doing things. The time zone would be the current time at the ecuador equator, therefore above the equator and below the equator would both be the same time. North for example may be light at 1am and South may be dark at 1am.

For my final paper in one of my classes I am writing about the progression of CPU hardware. I am pretty knowledgeable about everything DDR3 and newer but lack a lot of perspective before that. What CPUs, new or old, should I look into for a starting point? What CPUs had a major impact and which ones are particularly interesting (FX-9590)? Thank you for any assistance!

Hi all, I want to upgrade my Ryzen 3600X to either the 5700X3D or 5800X3D. I've never upgraded my CPU before, I've always just gone to the next generation socket that requires a new MOBO in the past. Other than upgrading the BIOS to support it, Is this process just a simple swapping process? - Would I need to reinstall Windows? - Uninstall old drivers or something beforehand? Thanks in advance people.

Hi, So i have repasted 4 times like in a 6 months period and i have even replaced the both laptop's fans with new ones but i see no improvement in temperatures. What i'm doing wrong? few things from side: - Using laptop Cooler - Vents are clear - Bios Up to date - Room temp not high - No virus or anything, fresh installation I can not under-volt because of my Bios update version with Intel XTU, neither under-volting works with throttlestop. So under-volting is not possible. CPU temps go to 100C even with loads like 10-30%, where as GPU is fine at 99% of load. Please help.

I have a Ryzen 9 3900x and I just fully reset my PC in an attempt to fix this overheating issue. I had an ID cool AIO and yet it was at 70 C at idle. So i popped the stock cooler back on to see if it was the cooler that was causeing the issue but it continues to be at 69-70 C at idle.

I am having problems with my CPU overheating. Built 9 years ago and AIO changed 1.5 years ago. Firstly specs: GPU: GTX 1080ti CPU: intel 8700k RAM: 16GB TridentZ RGB 3800Mhz Watercooler: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB (6fans push pull) Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming I think that the AIO is the problem as I cant think of a reason the CPU would heat up this much. At idle its around 70-80C and when loading anything it goes to 90-100C (checking temps with HW monitor). I can feal the very start of the AIO tube warm and the return at room temp. The pump header is at the AIO_PUMP of the mobo which is set to PWM at 100% no mater the temps. Normally I could overclock the CPU to 5-5.1GHz but went back to normal mode when problem started. This has happened 3 times now last times after a couple of days it gets back to normal with idle temps at 40-50C and peak at 80C with playing + streaming or other programs. If I unplug and replug the AIO_PUMP header I hear the wind of the pump for a bit and then it seems to stop so I think the AIO pump is probably the problem. Is there a way to confirm this? Or anything else I can do to troubleshoot or fix it? The AIO is still under warranty but I would need to send it to the reseller that will send it to EK for confirmation that its the problem and if not they will charge me for all the transport costs. As the problem appears and disappears seemingly after some time I am a bit scared to do this to not loose the money. Also I would not be able to use my pc while all of this is happening... Any help appreciated!!!

Potentially damaged CPU contact potentially preventing POST
Wittle posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi chat! Let's preface with my build specs CPU: Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX Motherboard: Asus Rog Zenith Extreme TR4 RAM: G. Skill Trident Neo 3000MHz 32GB C16 (not on the QVL but not my main concern) PSU: EVGA SUPANOVA 1300 G2 BIOS: 2601 (Most current) I've got a unique problem. I've been having startup issues with my pc ever since I got a new CPU. My current build is listed up above, and I've got another ram kit (G.Skill Ripjaws 2800MHz DDR4 32GB C16), unfortunately not on QVL either. However that's not my main concern, I believe there is a damaged or unstable contact pad on the middle section of the CPU, which I'll show. When I do power on, the DRAM error lights up, and the Q code cycles until it hits 00 and says detect memory. Switching to each recommended slot layout does nothing to change it. Just wondering if the cpu needs replacing or if it's just a ram issue. -
Budget (including currency): 5000PLN Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Can't exactly tell - i play games very rare, i just need a powerful pc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I would like to go with this Ryzen 7 7800X3D - that is for sure. I have GPU from previous PC - RX 6800 16GB. I would like to know if MOBO i choosed is okay - maybe there is someting better in this price range? Maybe i overlooked something? Is RAM okay? I wanted it to be low profile, so it won't collide with AIO cooler. Maybe i should change? Will AIO cooler fit without any problems with these parts? Maybe there is some beter AIO that will fit this case? I want the AIO to be on top. AIO: be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm or Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID ML240L RGB V2. Cooler Master AIO looks better for me, but it has RGB not ARGB. My MOBO has 3xARGB and 1xRGB - will it work with mixed configuration such as 2xARGB, 1xRGB? Would prefer the Cooler Master. My parts are: CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D MOBO: ASRock B650 PRO RS RAM: GoodRam IRDM, DDR5, 32 GB, 6400MHz, CL32 GPU: XFX RX 6800 16GB PSU: be quiet! System Power 10 650W SSD: Lexar NM710 1TB M.2 Link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sQ2GgB Please, tell me what you think. I would like to accept the build and buy it, i need new PC as soon as possible for my work.

Hey all, I've been troubleshooting a PC with the titled mobo. PC powers on as normal, but I cannot get a display on a processor that isn't a first gen Ryzen. I thought an old BIOS would have been the issue, so when I popped a Ryzen 5 1400 in and got a post I was encouraged, but then saw that the current BIOS version on the mobo was fairly new, only being one release version old. I still updated the BIOS to the latest version, and it still booted/posted normally with the 1400, but as soon as I pop back in a third (3600) or fifth (5600X) gen Ryzen, it's back to showing no display. Both of these other Ryzen CPUs are known working, and I have tested multiple working GPUs as well and it's the same result. Both RAM sticks have been tested and are working, multiple different coolers have been tried as well. I'm at a loss at this point, and am wondering if there is just something whacky going on with the mobo. Any ideas or insight would be appreciated!

Hello all, I recently have done a gaming pc build with a 5600x, 3060 rtx, mag b550, also a deepcool ak620. The case is a thermal take v100 midtower. I did install one fan at the top back spot, and I did have another in the front for intake but I disconnected it because today I noticed while having counter strike 2 open my cpu temp was in the 90’s, so I’m not sure if I messed up my airflow possibly. I’m a bit concerned because I thought with an aftermarket cooler the cpu wouldn’t run so hot while gaming but I did read something about how the 5000 series is built to run at 95c. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it thank you.

MY SPECS: WIN 11 I5-11400F RX6800XT PHANTOM DUAL OC 16GB DDR4 2433 1TB SSD after updating my gpu and reinstalling my os my cpu perfomance is noticably worse. previous gpu was rtx2060. In some cases its fine, and in some cases its way worse. in valorant for example i was hitting around 200-220 fps consistently with my gpu being the one bottlenecking my cpu, but after the gpu upgrade my perfomance is way worse, oscillating aroun 140-200fps with my cpu being the one bottlenecking my gpu, while on the same, lowest settings, the same applies to cyberpunk for example, with my 2060 i was able to reach 70fps with dlss, with the gpu holding me back, but now i cant get stable 60fps with my cpu claiming it is at 100% usage, what i have noticed lately is that msi afterburner reports only 60 70% of usage max, never more while amd adrenalin and resource manager both show 100%. the cpu clocks and temps are fine, also the threads are being used, but i am 100% sure im getting worse perfomance after the upgrade with my cpu being the weaker part, where before update i had better perfomance with gpu being the weaker one. Any ideas what could be the cause/fix it?

Budget (including currency): About 600€ Country: Slovakia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, I want to be able to play the newest titles. Other details: Not so long ago I've upgraded almost every piece of my PC except for my CPU, since then I've been trying to find what CPU to even buy (I have an Radeon RX 6800XT and Ryzen 5 3600 rn) which obviously creates a huge bottleneck. According to the bottleneck calculator it's 29%. I am playing at 1080p, 144hz, because that's what my monitors allow. I've found a reddit thread about what CPU to match with this graphic card, but when I popped them into the bottleneck calculator they all showed like 15%+ bottleneck. I don't know if I should just try different CPU's in the calculator and just buy one with lower bottlenecks or if the calculator is somehow inaccurate ?

I bought this CPU about 2 years ago, and bought a cheap LGA2011 motherboard. The CPU did not fit so it has just been on a shelf for 2 years. CPU is a 12 core 2.60GHz Xeon E7-4860V2
