  1. Corsair and Cooler Master Link

I have a Cooler Master Mastercase Maker 5 and want to add some Corsair HD140 RGB fans. Can I use the integrated fan controller hub thingy on my case with some corsair fans or do I need the specific corsair fan controller?
  2. What peripherals should I get?

I wanted to ask: what I should get for Project OM3GA? Project OM3GA (Or project Alpha if I happened to accidentally rename it something else) is a multiheaded gaming computer that has multiple GPUs and has a 10GBE (Gigabit ethernet) interface for connecting to my beefy pfsense router and for acting as a backbone for my home network. not to mention being a transmitter for my in-home game streaming for me and my friends (if I choose to do so.) I am looking for suggestions to keyboards that are mechanical and that have media keys (with or without an extra usb port integrated onto the keyboard.)
  3. Controller with pc

How to connect an xbox one wireless controller to a gaming laptop via Bluetooth (without the usb adapter)
  4. Ok, So I want to check out retropie but Im not too sure what Controllers I would need to buy. I have not seen much about it. I want to use it to try out games of Olden Times. I am planning to Buy 2 NES controllers w/ USB ports. So, would this work w/ other Emulated consoles, or would I need Console Specific Controllers? Ps, I prefer Amazon.
  5. Hi, ok so to start off, I've had multiple problems with windows 10 since purchase. (I actually had less issues with the insider betas before launch) this is the latest one. When I have my T500RS connected my gamecontrollers window won't open (if you don't know what that is, you probably can't help me sorry) and if I open it, then plug my wheel in, the window stops responding. How can I fix this? thanks -James
  6. As BeamNG Drive is further expanding, I was wandering if somebody could make a mod to enable dual controller support? Not necessarily 'multiplayer', but 2 controllers being used on one PC. Reason being is that if you are directing crashes, you have to control one car, and get the AI to control the other, as we know how good AI is, I think you understand my point... So, if there was dual controller support, (and possibly 2 cameras used like a split-screen) I believe that would be fantastic, especially for all the other BeamNG YouTuber's out there. Personally I'd love to see more split-screen games, because it's great when you have friends that don't have PC's good enough to run these titles. I know that in the future, near or far, BeamNG is planning to add online multiplayer to this game, but I'd be great to also have a split-screen mode. So the question is: Is a split-screen mod possible?
  7. i thought oh i can ask a controller for some steam games with secret santa, but those fuckers are expensive as hell holy balls. and from what i read the third party ones are cheap pieces of shit. is there some licensing fee for creating third party controllers so the console manufacturers have some kind of monopoly and can just mandate whatever they want? i mean what is so expensive in a controller that justifies 50 euros. not to even mention the fucking xbox one elite for fucking 130 euros.
  8. I just got back from Steam Dev days the other day and I'm surprised nobody's posted this on here yet. At the event, Valve was prototyping a new virtual reality controller. I did not get to personally try it (there was a pretty big line), but I did get to see people using it. It attaches to the hand like a clip so that you do not have to constantly hold them. There are also sensors that detect if your hand is open or closed. Supposedly, it is capable of tracking individual fingers. Those who got to use them say they're much more comfortable than the Vive's controllers and even venture to say they're more comfortable than Oculus Touch. There is no word if this is going to be apart of next gen's headsets or if it'll be released as an upgrade for current Vive owners; or even if it'll be released at all. The controllers hold on nicely and the straps are supposedly only there to make people comfortable with throwing their hands around. http://www.roadtovr.com/first-look-at-valves-new-vr-controller-prototype/
  9. Windows gaming

So long story short, im looking for a controller (Like this: steelseries.com/gaming-controllers/stratus-wireless ) For my windows laptop to play some basic games from the windows store (Dont hate!) My Price range is less than 20 British pounds. I dont mind if its USB or Bluetooth. Thanks for the help! Even suggestions would be a great help as I dont have a clue on where to start!
  10. The most afordable PC controller

Hi, I am building a PC and I need a controller for (not so much) piloting jets and helicopters in Arma 3 And battlefield and a few more games. I need this controller to be available in the UAE ( United Arab Emirates) and also I need it to not be expensive. So what's the cheapest controller available that is compatible with most games on PC? THANKS FOR READING
  11. I know the Xbox One Wireless Controller Adapter supports 8 players (to my understanding xinput only supports 4). Has anyone tried 8 player stuff to see if this works? Can game audio be transmitted through the 3.5mm jack? Can chat be transmitted the controller (input and output)? Can more than one person use a headset at the same time (for chat). Can the Xbox Elite controller buttons be mapped to anything in game, or does it mimic another controller button?
  12. The Wooting One is initially offered with 55g clicky or linear switches, with the option of swapping for different switches when they become available. The switches use MX style stems, meaning the keyboard will be compatible with most aftermarket keysets. The keyboard is fully programmable, with options for inputs to register as a gamepad using Directinput or an Xbox controller using Xinput. Estimated delivery is November 2016, with retail availability coming some time after. Backer options left are: $156 USD (€139) Full keyboard with either color switch Four switches of the other color Two spare switches 1x keycap/switch puller $224 USD (€199) Full keyboard with either color switch A full set of the opposite color switches Extra exclusive top plate 2x keycap/switch puller Exclusive "Sprinkles" backer t-shirt Source: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wooting/the-analog-mechanical-keyboard-for-precise-movemen Wooting website: http://www.wooting.nl/
  13. So I've been wanting to play around with the air pressure inside my case and get an optimal healthy airflow going. I'm looking for a software program that will let me control my fan speeds. I've been told that speedfan is not compatible with Windows 10 so I need something that will be able to work with that. I have a gigabyte mini itx board and a corsair 250d case with an H100i cpu cooler. Using one 140 Corsair Static pressure in the front, and two 120 Static pressure on the side on the rad and then of corse the fan on the gpu on the opposite side. All are intakes and I have a positive pressure so the air is flowing out of the back just fine with no rear 80mm fans. Just want to play around with it a little bit.
  14. Hello guysSo the thing is, I want to connect my PC to my Smart TV through HDMI and purchase two controllers to connect to the PC and play with friends when they are over at my house.I was wondering, what should I get? PS4 controllers or XBox One controllers? Which one would work better for my setup and I strictly NEED THEM to work WIRELESSLY, (im not sure how this works, USB Dongle or Wi-Fi transmiter? Also do they come with it in the package or do I have to purchase them separately?) if not then this setup is for nothing and I'm canceling it. I have no idea how they work as I never used a console before, I was a PC guy since forever.I appreciate everyone's future input, thanks in advance.
  15. Micron has acquired Tidal Systems, a company specializing in SSD controllers founded in 2014 by industry veterans from companies such as Sandforce, SK-Hynix, and Skyera. This acquisition finally completes Micron's portfolio - they can now make all three vital components of an SSD; the NAND, DRAM, and SSD Controllers, all in-house. Samsung is the other SSD manufacturer that can do this, and now that Micron can as well, it might mean some serious competition may be coming in the SSD market soon. Quote from KitGuru. Source: http://www.kitguru.net/components/ssd-drives/anton-shilov/micron-technology-acquires-tidal-systems-gets-ssd-controllers/ http://www.tomshardware.com/news/micron-tidal-aquisition-ssd-controller,30232.html
  16. So I got a PS4 controller for my PC, and apparently it was one of those first wave controllers. You know, the ones with the sticks that peeled easily. And the inevitable happened. Soo, now I'm looking into some replacement sticks, and I'm torn between metal ones or Xbone ones. Has anyone here done this before? Which ones would you guys recommend?
  17. Bulk storage setup planning

Having had a beast build in mind for a few months, now it comes down to the actually planning and decision making part. My general thinking, storage-wise, has been to use M.2/PCIe (though I suppose NVME is a thing now) for the boot drive, 3 or 4 SSDs in RAID5/10 for the "working" disk space, and then fairly massive bulk media storage, 6-8 3TB WD Reds in RAID... but there's where I start to lose whatever certainty I've had about how I want (or need) to go about it. I guess what it boils down to is: I'm going to need a controller card [edit: for the HDDs], but whether I just need SATA expansion in JBOD mode for software RAID, or whether I should go with a full-blown RAID card... I just don't know. Additional: this being my first time in the market for such a card, I don't quite "get" them, specifically, the connectivity between the card and the drives. I see things like 2-port SAS/SATA cards out there, but I gather that the number of ports isn't actually the number of drives one can connect to/through these cards...? Or am I looking at investing in a 8-port controller card? I've tried reading manuals and specs online, but... MEGO. Suggestions/recommendations would be most welcome.
  18. Hi folks, I did a quick google and a forum search, didn't find anything about this topic so I feel compelled to start a discussion here. I've basically had two ideas for this kind of thing lying around in the back of my head. One is that back in the day I sometimes fired up an amateur-made tram simulator, which (oddly enough) didn't support keybinds to all the different controls, so I was left with clicking things with my mouse, and it felt particularly inconvenient when I had to turn the camera to reach the pedals down on the floor. So I thought, it would be cool to be able to control those using real pedals, but without having to plug in the wheel. I never made it happen unfortunately. Then recently, PC footboards caught my attention. They're useful for many different things, including - one that's particularly interesting for me - giving the user an additional interface for frequently used keybinds, such as voice comms, weapon dropping etc. in FPS games. But I don't really like the idea of spending a bunch of cash on something that I may potentially already own. I'm talking about the pedals bundled with the Logitech Driving Force GT. I'm curious if they can be plugged directly into a PC, because they seem to have a standard RS232 connector with 2 pins missing, and if so - is there some kind of software that can make them work as a standalone game controller? Or perhaps Windows 7 can recognize them on its own? I imagine Logitech Profiler won't be of much help in this regard. What are your thoughts, guys? Have you had any experience with this kind of experiments? I'm asking mostly because my motherboard doesn't have an RS232 port in the rear I/O, so I would have to go get an additional bracket for it (otherwise I'd probably just go for it, because well, yolo), and also because I'd like to know what to expect and what to consider when tinkering with it.
  19. Hi LTT forum! I am wondering if a logitech f710 or a ps4 dualshock 4 controller would work on gta 5 for pc. If they both work, wat controller would you pick to use as a controller for gta 5 pc? Logitech F710: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000117-Gamepad-F710/dp/B0041RR0TW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1431996363&sr=8-2&keywords=logitech+gamepad PS4 Dualshock 4: http://www.amazon.com/DualShock-Wireless-Controller-PlayStation-Black-4/dp/B00BGA9X9W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431996630&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4+dualshock Thanks!
  20. Would it be possible to get third party xbox controllers running on the wireless Xbox adapter for pc? Asking because third party controllers are more affordable.
  21. I spend most of my time on this forum in this very "Peripherals" section. Time and time again, somebody will come along, asking about what sort of mouse to buy, not giving up a whole lot of information about how big their hands are, their budget, etc and before I can even speak a word I see two words - "Logitech G502." So I would like to clear things up. When asking about what sort of peripherals to buy, please include the following. For mice: Include your budget for one.Include your hand size in centimeters from the first bracelet of your wrist to the top of your middle finger.Include what sort of grip you use, whether it's palm, claw, fingertip or some hybrid of the two or three. If you have any other requirements like macros or a preference of sensor, please list these. For keyboards: Again, budget.Your key switch preference. Ignore Cherry MX switches if your budget is fairly low (under $80 USD usually).Form factor of the keyboard, whether it is tenkeyless, full size, +macros, whatever.Other things that could go here. Some people like the ISO keyboard layout (big L-shaped Enter key) for example. For controllers: Budget.Games you'll be playing with the controller. The controllers you've enjoyed previously.Anything else you might want to include. Remember that anything that plugs into USB can technically be "Peripherals" but please keep in mind that things like microphones and gaming headsets and whatnot belong in the "Audio" subforum and people here generally won't be able to help you so much. Here's a list of things I would consider to be "peripherals." Mice Keyboards Controllers/racing wheels/flight simulation controllers Mousepads Numeric keypads Desks Chairs Webcams Some common things mentioned in peripherals that I don't personally feel belong here as they don't contribute to the usage of a computer in a way that makes it more comfortable. Printers/Scanners Random adapters Headphones/audio in general Pieces of random components. A monitor panel replacement, for example, is not a peripherals subject. Optical drives (technically storage) For people who recommend things in this subforum, PLEASE READ THIS. STRMfrmXMN'S RULES TO LIVE BY (kinda) The G502 is not the be-all and end-all of gaming mice. The Corsair K70 RGB is not the be-all and end-all of keyboards (good luck finding them in stock too...). Always ask the potential buyer for an outline of what they're trying to buy. Budget, specifics like hand size for mice and key switch preference for keyboards, and even things like country of origin should be thought of before "BUY X KEYBOARD." Remember, not everybody understands what Cherry MX Reds feel like or why a laser sensor may not be great for FPS gaming. They will likely need help. In the words of Wil Wheaton: "Don't be a dick."Thanks to all who read this. This just covers things that I would wish be solved around here. If you have any questions about peripherals, PM me and I'll help you out -STRMfrmXMN This is @'s Guide To Constructive Criticism and you should read it.
  22. Hey, Can somebody give me a heads up on what kinds of controllers are compatible with the Nvidia Shield Tablet? Thanks
  23. Manual Fan controller.

Hello everyone of the Linus Tech forum! I have come here to seek shopping advice. This is what I am looking for. I have four 3 pin Blue LED fans in my computer case. They are all being controlled through the Corsair Graphite 760t White full tower case's front panel fan toggle button. Although this toggle switch is nice, it would be nice to get a manual fan controller that is powered by a molex power input connector and have a 4 output 3 pin connector to connect to my 3 pin fans. I want one that has a temperature sensor that tells me what the current temp is, but lets me decide if I want to adjust my fan speed on the fly. Can anyone suggest a good one for a nice price? Please post links, with price information, and tell me why the models you suggest are ones to consider. Thank you in advance! Josh_Grid21
  24. Hi guys, I'm going to try and keep this simple as possible. We have 3 Domain Controllers, 2 File Servers, and a few other servers that individually handle certain services. Now, up until Tuesday of this week, AFAWK (W=we), users (non-administrators/IT, aka general users) have not been able to log into the above mentioned servers via Remote Desktop. But now they can. And no one changed anything. I wasn't here, and I'm the one who manages them on a day to day basis. They have been able to access shares (as they should be able to) however. The way we realized they could access it with just their personal username/password was because, while logging into one, it listed every user logged into the server. And it was pretty much a list of every single user we have. This has never been the case. And the only logical reason (I could come up with, being inexperienced) that would be is if it treated shares that way (i.e. if you were connected via a share, it listed you there) even though, again, that's never been the case. So we disabled Remote Desktop until we can figure out what is up with that. The even weirder part is that it asks us, IT, for credentials when signing into said servers via remote desktop, but it doesn't ask general users for them. Even though we are part of the Domain Admins group, and no one else is. How does that even work? So, in light of all that, and the fact that I'm inexperienced in managing permissions on a domain (as are my co-workers, to be honest), and the fact that only 1 of us knows how the domain was constructed since he did it, but it's never worked correctly anyway (I don't blame him for this for varying reasons.), so I can't just trust that things are setup correctly anyway. But I can't tear the whole thing down and start over because that'd require disabling everyone's ability to work for a weekend without guaranteeing that I will do things right (or whoever will do it). And I only know how to edit permissions for shares, and manage what groups people are in, but I don't know how to manage who can log into what computers. I'd assume this is done from the Active Directory Users and Groups under Computers, but I have yet to find anything that specifically looks like it's causing the "Anyone can log in" problem. I know having Authenticated Users in permissions is an issue since that's basically everyone logged into a Domain (so long as they have credentials as a user on that domain), and most shares I've seen automatically have that (i.e. everyone has access to it), but I haven't seen that in the Computers section of the AD Users and Groups under Computers. Where do I even begin to troubleshoot this? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Vitalius.
  25. I think this is important. Many companies made accessories, mostly headsets, that worked on X360 (and PC at the same time) and now we are hearing they won't work on Xbox One. Nice waste of money I'd say.. And I was getting ready to buy one. Nice dodge.. Microsoft confirmed to Joystiq only Xbox One controllers and accessories are supported by the new console. The new system won't support the Xbox 360 controller or Xbox 360 Kinect. When approached, a Microsoft spokesperson provided us with the following statement: "Xbox One was designed from the ground up with entirely new technology to deliver a new generation of experiences for both games and entertainment For example, the Wireless Controller will connect to the console using high speed data transfer to enable higher fidelity headset audio and future controller add-on experiences that are not possible with Xbox 360 wireless technology. Additionally, the all-new Kinect sensor's ability to locate the wireless controller is dependent on new technology. In order for Xbox One to deliver robust, meaningful gaming scenarios for all users across all experiences, only Xbox One controllers and accessories will work with the new console." Microsoft previously confirmed to Polygon and Engadget the Xbox One won't support the Xbox 360 controller or Xbox 360 Kinect respectively. Neither is surprising, given Microsoft's new system has a redesigned controller and a next-gen edition of the Kinect sensor. However, while it isn't explicitly said, Microsoft's statement seems to indicate the Xbox One won't support any Xbox 360 accessories. When asked on Twitter if the new system supports Xbox 360 headsets, Xbox Support reiterated the statement we received, saying, "Only Xbox One accessories will work with Xbox One, which helps us deliver better headset audio and other benefits."
