Budget (including currency): $700~ Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Final Fantasy 11 Online Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I build PCs for fun and for friends. My buddy has asked me if I could build him a PC for Final Fantasy 11 Online. He is a truck driver and has a laptop setup in his truck but would like to upgrade to a small form factor desktop. Here's the catch: he plays 6 different characters so would like to be able to have 6 instances of the game running. He also uses a program called Windower 4 for resolution upscaling and add-on management. I don't know much about FF11 but based on the minimum specs I could find online, it doesn't appear to be very demanding. Based off of that, I put together a parts list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/d7ftt7 Any feedback, comments, or helpful advice would be much appreciated!

Budget (including currency): $500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Office Suite, Cricket Connect. Other details: I was recently asked to build a PC as a replacement for a 10ish year-old PC. The budget as set around $500 and so it was between buying something refurbished and building a computer. Thankfully, with how computer component prices are right now, it was a better deal to build one. I already ordered these parts, but I have been asked quite a lot to build reliable office PCs around this price. I am curious, how might I improve this selection of parts for around the same price in the future? Hello, So I am currently working on a build for my work. I am running an GA-A320M-S2H motherboard with 8gb ddr4 ram, Amd Ryzen 5 3600 processor, and a 450 watt power supply with some older msi video card that I found. I am trying to get my motherboard to recognize the SSD that I am using which is PNY CS900 120 GB so I can use it as my boot drive and nothing is working! I have used multiple different SATA cord and power supply is plugged in. I also plugged in a Disc drive and it was recognized, but for some reason hard drive and ssd are not being recognized. Please Help!

Hello, My name is Michael, but I go by High Voltage anymore....so, I was browsing the internet and found that this site, which I'd never taken the time to register an account on till today after about a year knowing of this site, had articles about people asking this same thing here, that being about wooden pc cases....well, My situation is a tad unique in respects to what I'm after and the cost efficiency of a wooden hand made case being too sweet a deal to possibly just pass up as "not going to do it for this or that reason" because the alternatives that would work for what I'm after (mainly space savings by popping two full sized pc systems into a single case, and the storage drive bay requirements for a high density backup server needing something far out of my cost afordability range) being toooo perfect to not consider a custom hand made case, at which point something using mdf board is just perfect for affordability to me. soo, my curiosity is a few of the following things: 1. does anyone know of any thermal simulation software (free and or open source) that one could run either in a windows vm, or on linux natively, to be able to test the termal dynamics of any possible case/fan cooling setup I could try and make a 3d mockup prototype of before sitting down, buying the materials and making the thing before I know if it would even be a viable temperature setup option? 2. does anyone have any recommendations for how to make a dual system single case design for a HUGELY populated (disk wise) storage server for down the road as I add more drives to the thing? because it would have a high end backup server of my own building with the eventual possibility of 20+ hdds, AND a high end editing rig for video and audio editing for podcasts and other video projects I manage (note, 20 core xeon cpu and eventually dual 1080ti's and to begin with dual 970s for the gpus once that system is built finally).....so, cooling and temperature simulations are a hugely requested helpful plus to test the thermals of these two systems 3. the cases I have looked at and was originally pricing out at doing prior to thinking on building the case by hand out of mdf board, were these: http://www.mountainmods.com/ascension-duality-mirror-black-powder-coat-original-top-p-463.html http://www.mountainmods.com/ascension-cyo-custom-computer-case-p-483.html http://www.mountainmods.com/u2-ufo-duality-mirror-black-powder-coat-solid-top-p-390.html the original design idea for the system to have both computer systems inside of were based on those, and the original case labs Magnum tx10-D Dual pc system, that has since been discontinued, but those were the inspiration for this idea for a pc case, however I'd like to take these designs and flip them on their head a tad, and instead make them in place of dual vertical pc systems, make it a dual horizontal pc system for the case, using either the 120mm fans on those cases as hard drive fan bays, or make dedicated vertical hard drive cages tower style with dedicated fans in front of them, maybe use a 3x 5.25 bay to 5x 3.5 hdd bay adapter style thing for hot swap capabilities with dedicated fans, but hot swap is not a requirement for me, more so the cooling is than the hot swap abilities, but thats for later either way, I just need some thoughts on what all you guys think I should try to do, given the situation here... anyone able to bounce some ideas for possible design design attempts around with me please?? budget is as low as possible, preferably not much more than 100-200$ USD monitors are not an issue at all either, the backup server will be using a spare quadro card I have lying in a drawer, and the editing server will use either some spare 970s in that same drawer for now and eventually have the 1080tis for hardware accelerated gpu rendering, monitors range in sizes and resolutions that I have at my disposal so thats not an issue either nor can I pinpoint the exact resolution they will be using and as for the peripherals, I have all of those as well in storage for spares, keyboards and mice. as for the why I'm upgrading, I'm not really, just re-purposing spare parts I have at my disposal for the xeon cpu, ram, and motherboard as well as the other spare parts. I'd be very much appreciative if someone could help me with that...

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2W3dzM This is my first gaming pc build plan. This build is mostly for gaming and Maybe a little bit of recording and editing. I'll plan on playing fps games like cs go,overwatch and bf1 and some open world games like gta V and Ark survival all at 1080p and on a 144hz monitor. I also need recommendations for a monitor that supports a 1070 strix and 1080p 144hz

I was going to get a laptop for school but I was given one by a family member. So I decided to build myself a desktop gaming computer for some general gaming. I don't game 24/7 and I don't need to play the new triple A games. I like to play minecraft with mods (a lot or not a lot it depends), I like playing modded Skyrim. Things like that, generally not to intense of games, nothing like Ark, Tomb Raider or anything like that. And one of my friends has been building for a while now and had a spare FX -6300 because he had upgraded his to an 8350 a while back. He said since this would be my first build that he would just give me the processor for free so he could help me out. I was wondering should I take it? I know that the AM3+ platform is very very dated but it is a free 80 dollar processor so I could throw the 80 into a better graphics card, SSD or so one. Is this wise? I have a sub 450 dollar budget and I know I could upgrade intel down the line but please I do not want people ranting about AMD sucking because they are AMD I just want to know if an AMD FX-6300 could still be considered good by todays standard. I would be upgrading by the end of 2017 most likely to Zen because I will have a new credit card and will make monthly payments but for now I do not have much. So again is the FX - 6300 good? Will it lag doing general things or ruin my gaming experience? Thanks a lot guys this is my first post so thank you again for all your help!

Hello all, My budget for this build is £750 but can squeeze up to £800 if needed for delivery costs. This will be my first custom build as I have only upgraded per-built systems in the past. I plan on using this for heavy browsing and medium to light gaming (mostly simulations), think Just Cause 3 at 60fps. So I'm looking to build a moderately good gaming computer for under $300 yet still squeeze some pretty good performance out of it. I already have a GTX 1060 paired with some older server parts that function as an ok machine to hold me over along with a Corsair CX750m (so those are already out of the budget) and a case is optional. I also wanted to open up my options for overclocking to "future proof" at least a little bit. (it's impossible to future proof xD) So some suggestions would be great, just to get the ball rolling but other than that, I'll list the current specs to my PC below. Oh, I also quite obviously wanted it to exceed what I have already. Intel Serverboard S5000PSL 2X Intel Xeon X5460 16 GB FB DDR2 2X 256GB SSD GTX 1060 3GB

Hello there! I have been eyeing a desktop computer build since 2014 when i accompanied my aunt to buy 3 computers for her company. (They were prebuilt) I finally have enough money to buy a decent desktop computer. (It's a pain when i can't use my father's iMac which i fried the motherboard while gaming once, but it's not under warranty anymore.) About 2000-2200 SGD which is 1430-1580 USD to buy parts. Here are the list of things I have: Cooler Master Elite 431 Casing ACBEL 400W PSU with NO 8 pin connectors 500GB 2.5' HDD (came with my MBP) 240GB 2.5' HyperX Savage SSD (currently in my MBP) 16/32 GB of standard green-colored DDR4-2133 RAM (hopefully my friend would give it to me, it is from his Acer Predator which has 64GBs of RAM!!) 2 x 320GB WD 3.5' HDD (from old computers) I was thinking of two options, go with an ugly but performance per dollar build (4K monitior) or a sexy black/white themed build. UGLY: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/w8dW7h (the GPU to be changed to VEGA gpu of same price) SEXY: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Xc2W8K add NZXT Hue+ maybe? (the GPU to be changed to VEGA gpu of same price) Take note, even though I'm from Singapore, the prices of parts here is extremely expensive, (150USD for a S340 Elite), luckily there is Amazon.com free international shipping over 125USD for participating vendors and as long as its within the weight and size limit. (Try not to go over 290USD per order or else import tax {YEY!}) Alternatively if the item is not available on Amazon, I'll use ezbuy.sg to ship things. (pretty affordable price) If i were to get a case from the U.S., ill probably have to pay an additional 40-50 USD to ship it across (depending on the weight and dimensions of the case)(If you help me construct a part list, reserve 70 USD for shipping). Games I want to play: GTA V (and 6 when it comes out), FIFA 17, CS GO, F1 2017, Forza Horizon, Cities Skylines. Also doing coding (Python, JavaScript) I would love if it could be AMD RYZEN based because this computer will be used for 5 years and I may upgrade it to a Ryzen 3rd Gen CPU in 2-3 years compared to Intel which is basically Coffee Lake and that's it. I'm incredibly confident of being able to build a computer by myself as I have tested a couple video cards and upgraded CPUs, applied thermal paste and the CPU cooler, installed RAM with absolutely no hitch. I would definitely appreciate any tips though! Thanks for taking the time to read this post and have a great day!

Hello, I’m building my first computer and hoping someone could guide me away from making some complete beginner mistakes. I’m building this for video editing and also creating 3D projects in programs like After Effects and Maya. I wanted to leave room for upgrades in the future, while still having the most powerful machine possible without dropping several thousand dollars. Since I never built a computer I have no idea if these components are compatible together or even make sense going together. At the moment the programs I use don’t utilize the GPU fully, as well as never really use more than 10GB of RAM at any time (although in the future I hope to upgrade the RAM). I always store my media on external drives, and will only have the programs on my SSD so a lot of storage is not a necessity for me. (I will most likely upgrade the internal storage in the future and work in a safer RAID array). Any help will be much appreciated!...I listed the components with links below. Thank You! It's currently at $1868.99 and I'd like to keep it at this price or less.
