Hey, this is my first post I am working on a system with the following design: I have 3 Remote Desktop Servers with the session host role installed on them and a third one with the broker and licensing role installed on it. The Remote Desktop Session Hosts are configured as one collection. I also have 20 Thin Clients with IGEL OS installed (a Thin Client Linux OS) I am looking for a way to make sure that when I connect to the collection, I will always be directed to a server that is online. Right now, I am using a DNS round-robin on the Domain Controller to resolve the session name to one of the RDS Servers. But when a server is down, round-robin still returns it's IP-Address and I get a timeout. I use a regular RDS-Connection (FreeRDP) not a conenction via WebRD or similar. Is there a way to make sure, that when i connect to the collection, i will be directed to an active RDS which will communicate with the broker to load balance? Thank you

Hi Everyone, I just started folding recently and haven't had any problems until this morning. I have one WU that failed to send its results back to the collection server. When looking at the unit, there is no collection server listed: Is there a way to fix this? Thanks for your help.

Hi, so a friend and I had a discussion earlier regarding companies collecting our data and how we felt about it. There was the camp that is concerned about data collection and actively thought about what sorts of things was acceptable to be collected, that's me. Then there was the camp that isn't concerned as there are reasons data collection is happening for things such as tailored advertisements, this was my friend. So I decided out of curiousity to open up the floor for discussion on why people might/might not be concerned about data collection and what it means for our digital livelihoods. I liked the point my friend gave regarding targetted advertisements, if they actually had been relevant to me, that is. I use Amazon very frequently but no internal or external advertisements have ever gave me something relevant, so I can't work out what's so inaccurate about my particular advertisements when Amazon collect this data anyway. For the record, I am okay with data collection as long as it's relevant to my own digital footprint and the companies are not profiting off of my internet usage, such as X company gathering my information such as my location and selling it to Y company for their personal usage. So I wondered, are you guys concerned or not concerned about data collection from companies, and why? What bits of information are you okay and not okay with giving, and are you concerned about a particular company that might be using a piece of information for malicious intent? Also, please don't involve Governments too deeply into this if you do mention a particular country's legislation, no political debates please.

Hi! I'm buying MSI lightning cards for my personal collection. If someone owns an r9 290x or gtx 980ti quote the price and location and we might make a deal!

I was debating whether putting this in the Console gaming section but figured it might fit better here for software suggestions. TLDR: Looking for Software to catalogue my physical game collection. These days I'm building up a sizable yet modest collection of physical games. I've yet to count the total but I'd say I'm around 100 or just over that with physical games across multiple platforms mostly Nintendo but some for my PS4 which I fully intend to keep for many years. Now granted I'm not one of those guys on youtube with every NES, SNES, and N64 cart in existence and my collection is pretty much from the GCN on however, some of those titles to my surprise have become rare and are climbing up in price. I don't have the intention of selling my games off but rather I'm looking for a way to one keep track of my games and two in a way insure them if God forbid something were to happen (theft, damage, file a claim for personal property etc). I've heard there is software out there for this where you put in the barcode and catalogue it all. Of course I'd prefer a simple 'free' utility but realizing you get what you pay for and programmers need to put food on the table as well I'm willing to purchase software as well as this is one of the more important hobbies of mine. I would prefer to stay away from subscription based software if I can help it though. Thanks again for your suggestions. Physical games I have are for the following platforms (along with the systems) GCN GBA DS 3DS Wii Wii U Nintendo Switch PS4 Xbox 360

Update #8 Just went live! I'm so so ready to get back into this project and to really start to focus on what i can find and get ahold of for the project. I have alot of really interesting prospects, and am really looking forward to the next few weeks, as i think they are going to be very exciting! Ok, so for a long time i have been collecting CPUs. The goal is that I want to be able to try to get my collection as complete as it can be. Anything from an old Windows 95 to a dead CPU out of your last Windows 8 machine, I want to collect them all! What I'm Looking For: Any CPU! I don't really care if the CPU works or not. If it has bent pins, or is scratched or beat up, i just want to collect as many as i can! So if you have a dead or otherwise useless and worthless CPU i would love it if you would consider sending it my way! Anything from any processor family is appreciated, got an old Windows 95 or XP machine your getting rid of? Pull the CPU out and send it my way! Got a damaged or dead CPU that you cant RMA and your just gonna throw out? Send it my way! Any and all CPUs are appreciated. Whats in it for you? Every CPU I get is credited to the original owner/sender. Every CPU is displayed along with other CPUs within the same family and manufacturer. I plan to make small engraved nameplates to go with every CPU that will have what each CPU is, the name of the sender, as well as a date. These CPUs will then be displayed in a large frame in my house. How to Get it Here: If you are interested and you want to go ahead and send it my way, its not very expensive to do so! most CPUs are small enough and light enough that you can send them in a regular envelope! It is advised tho to wrap the CPU in something the will protect the envelop so that the sharp CPU edges wont rip or tear in shipping. PM me for more details. I am willing to pay for shipping, and if you are interested we will discuss more about that when we move ahead with the process! Thanks! WOW, the post just got its "hot" status. Thanks so much guys, it really does mean lot. The support is amazing, and the amount of CPUs that I've managed to collect has been amazing. Here is to much more to come! Thanks again! Oh Canada, In news that shouldn't really be surprising to anyone else, the CSE (NSA equivalent) collects emails and stores them en masse, for whatever reason they deem prudent. The reasons the do give is to collect as much data as possible to be better prepared against cybersecurity attacks against the nation, but I can imagine some people will still be pissed that their emails are being collected. https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/02/25/canada-cse-pony-express-email-surveillance/

So as the title says, my friend rather have an XboxOne with just the master chief collection and a Wii U with Smash Bros rather than a PS4 with all its games and upcoming games (not exclusives, all games). I told him that is just an opinion but he claims that it's true for all people. (i know that part was a bit of a troll). My Friend didn't watch E3 2013 or 2014 and he doesn'y watch or read hardly anything about games besides subreddits and he barely knows any current or upcoming exclusives on the PS4. He also doesn't know many games that asre coming to both consoles. What do you guys think? Is my friend right?

I just found out about this thanks to my supervisor showing me it. I thought I'd share. Here is the page listing all the utilities (in a better format, because I'm not formatting all that after Ctrl + Shift + V). However, I can't find the download button on that page. I found a legit place to download it here. Go to the bottom and click the hyperlink where "Filename: Hirens.BootCD.15.2.zip". Some of it is old and useless (for Windows 8 for example), but other things are pretty cool and always useful. Some are for MS-DOS (yes, old), some are for Linux, and some are for Windows. This is for those who don't want to read the full list linked above; it's an overview.
