I finally have to much money hooked ut to the wall plug and I think It's time to buy it some protection. But I know nothing about UPS. help.

I'm building a top of the line gaming and workstation PC and plan to install 128GB of DDR5 memory in it. At present, this requires me to install 4 32GB (presumably dual rank?) DIMMs, which I understand is problematic at speeds above ~4400 Mhz. However, I prefer having all four DIMM slots full for aesthetic reasons anyway, so waiting for 64GB DIMMs might not help me. I am leaning toward the 13900k because it seems to handle 4 DIMMs better than the 7950X and X3D. Some have had success with 6000 Mhz as in this video: https://youtu.be/_Tnnc9Th13Q. If I want to run this much memory, should I stick with Intel? Also, assuming I get at least an Asus Strix class board, will a better board help me with memory stability? The video I linked above seems to suggest that the Pro Art board works better than other options, but the memory controller is on the CPU.

I'm buying a Lenovo Legion 5 and have a choice between a RX 6600M version and a RTX 3060 version. The RX 6600M has 8GB of VRAM and the 3060 has 6GB, this is my main deciding factor and want to know what you guys think is better? I plan on using it to play games like rdr2 on high/ultra and Kingdom come: deliverance, as well as lots of other newer games. Thanks, Duccy.

What I want is high quality PSU. Best case scenario - the one that will benefit the system's performance (heard people saying that with high quality PSU installed temperatures on their CPU and GPU dropped by 10-15 degrees C°). Guess it has something to do with extremely stable PSU output voltage. So, right now I got several very appealing offers in my area: Seasonic PRIME 650w Platinum(SSR-650PD), Super Flower Leadex 750w Titanium, CORSAIR HX 750w Platinum, Zalman ZM850-ARX. Now onto the issue. I want to buy the new M2 MacBook Air. However, I wanted your opinion on the version I should buy. I definitely want to buy the 16 GB RAM option so that's out of the way. However I am confused as to whether I should take the Mac with the 256 GB SSD or should I take the 512 GB SSD model ? I don't use up much space on my laptop and I know that the 256 GB SSD would suffice for me. However I have the following concerns: The 256 GB SSD has a single NAND Flash Chip and as such has slower read and write speeds compared to the 512 GB model. i) Would this lead to less reliability in the 256 GB version (SSD life) ? ii) Would the eventual and inevitable depreciation of hardware performance over the years hit me hard due to the single chip and slower speeds ? iii) Would the higher read and write speeds of the 512 GB model be noticeable in everyday usage ? iv) Any other valid concerns which may be raised as per the opinion of fellow community members. Hi, LTT forum! I am a multimedia technology creator, and I am not sure what is best for me in terms of device buying. I do 4 things on my laptop right now. I edit photos I edit videos I program And u know, just Word/Excel/Chrome stuff I am thinking about updating to a new device this summer. I need something that will be able to do all that and be a laptop/easily transportable PC-like machine. My choice right now is between finding something from like Idk Asus in the $1000 range and buying Macbook/Mac. My primary choice is on (refurbished) Macbook. So I want to ask you: do you think that for the tasks that I have - I would have a better time with windows or mac based devices? Cons: price, ports, inability to play games from time to time, and need to pay for Adobe Products (I don't right now profit from my work, just learning) and other programs, that on Windows would be free Pros: I am already iPhone and iPad deep into the ecosystem and it is easy and convenient; sidecar; the silence of the coolers, weight, aesthetics, and UI design; screens; "It just works" kind of feeling So what do you think? As you can probably gather from the title, I'm looking for a new monitor arm (my old one wasn't great). I have a 27 inch monitor with a decent amount of weight to it so I'm just looking for something reliable and robust that won't go floppy at random intervals. So just like way too many people I'm planning to upgrade my GPU (currently running a 960). As of yet I've been looking into two 1070s: MSI GTX 1070 Quicksilver = £389.99 MSI GTX 1070 Sea Hawk X = £398.99 I know both are fairly discounted prices, I've looked up numerous reviews and I honestly can't decide between the two based on the pros and cons I've read up. Is the water cooling actually useful for anything other than higher clock speeds? Of course I'm also weighing up Vega but it depends when that's released and or pricing (obviously ...). I'm looking at getting either the 1060 WINDFORCE OC, or the G1 Gaming 1060, however I'm a little confused as to what one is best. There's only around 40Mhz clock difference between the two cards, with around £30 being the price difference. Given that I'll probably be overclocking it, would it make a difference which one I go for?

Just one is enough, no need for SLI or smth. · Now the HDD shall not be HDD at all... i want just ONE single 1TB SSD Intel NVME PCiExpress based 750 PRO series monster for everything. It will be more than enough, i don't keep em 30 games installed at the same time or something like that. · The MONITOR is where the REAL requirements begin. With the new Z270 boards out and AMD Ryzen planned to be launched in March, I've met some big challenges while planning my computer. So far I've got my case, motherboard, and RAM all at my house, and I'm ordering some more parts, likely the PSU and SSD or HDD, sometime this week. I recently watched a video on NCIX Tech Tips that rumored a higher-end 7700K. If this rumor were true, I'd imagine that the release date would be close to that of Ryzen, and I'd rather not wait that long. The GPU is also another big choice for me. The benchmarks on the GTX 1070 look more than sufficient for me (who is planning on using a 2560x1440 + 1920x1080 setup) for gaming. However, I've not been playing as many games recently. My focus has mainly been steered toward Premiere Pro and other sorts of media. Video production has always been one of my interests, and I'm now getting a good budget to start creating content. The GTX 1080 is in my budget. However, I'm very hesitant to buy one, mainly because of the launch of Vega coming soon, which will probably lower the prices of the NVIDIA lineup. Another factor for me, is the release of a rumored GTX 1080ti. If this card were to launch, I could buy a 1080 for a reduced price, or buy the 1080ti. Either is an option for me right now, but I would like to have some extra money for a microphone setup, so the 1070 has been looking like the card I should buy. I'm interested in purchasing a new gaming monitor that I will stick with for a long time. However I came up to 2 choices for a gaming monitor which is the Samsung U28D590D which is 4K, has PIP (which I need to use since I have an Xbox One/PS4/Other devices), uses less power consumption, but since I'm a Nvidia person and will use an ASUS 1080 Strix GPU soon, the monitor uses AMD Freesync technology instead of G-sync to support higher Hz. I don't mind the terrible stand because I already have a visa mount. Now I've had the LG 34UM95-P in my list for some time but wonder if it will meet my gaming/graphics needs. I do plan on using for other devices like gaming consoles, laptops, or a simple KODI box. The 21:9 ratio looks amazingly wide and can use PIP with on-screen file transfers so you can send files between devices with the monitor, The monitor is 2K but can go native 4K, its stuck at 60Hz but is an IPS panel monitor. Lastly, a quick mention, I also looked at the X34 Predator G-sync monitor but is way too expensive and is only a 2k monitor yet goes up to 100Hz with a simple displayport cable. I'd like help between these choices since its a long term choice. Thank you very much for taking time to help me out.

Hello All. I am currently in the market for a new graphics card, and am unsure on what card to get. There are lots of different people speaking about different specs of PCs. I understand most things about graphics cards, but am still unsure. I was wondering whether I should get a RX480 and then in the future (if needed) get another. Or, should I splash the cash and then spend the extra 100 pounds on a GTX1070, but in the future, having to buy a new motherboard if I want to SLI that thing. My Current Specs Are: -Intel Core i7 6700 -NVidia GTX 960 -Other misc. things that shouldn't really matter, at least I think they shouldn't. So, what should I do, RX480 with the option of upgrading or should I get a 1070 without the option to upgrade? I play games like DayZ and Arma, which I have heard run better on NVidia cards, but I don't know if that matters much in performance. Thanks guys! Ryan

It needs to be good enough to work on (I work from home and link to my works server), I'd like to be at least 1TB and have the ability to run your standard games like Skyrim on medium to high and of course have a CPU good enough not to take an hour to load a long video playlist like my current one. Hello there! I just wanted to ask you guys for an advice about a power supply for a gaming rig, so here we go... I basically want it in order to complete my build, I know that I should always get a PSU that is like 100-150W more than the total wattage from all components. Also its a good idea to get more wattage if you are going to overclock (since the parts are going to drain more voltage). So a guy in my country sells his Corsair Ax860i Platinum very cheaply (because he is in a big rush (baby comming )), BUT is it safe to buy a second hand PSU? Is there something that we should keep in mind when buying second hand PSU's?

So I'm looking to buy an ultrawide 1440p monitor to finally make use of my 1070, but I can't decide which one to buy. The extra cost of the Asus and Samsung monitors over the Acer one doesn't bother me much, but I have heard that the Acer and Asus ones use the same panel and have quality control issues. The problem is that the Samsung monitor has freesync rather than G-sync, and I have particularly strong feelings about screen tearing. I want the Asus one, but I'm a little wary of any $1700 monitor which allegedly has QC issues. What experiences whave you guys had with these three monitors? Can you recommend any others with similar specs?
