Hi everyone! My beloved desktop will move from under the desk to the top of my desk wich has made me think about the look of it a bit more since it will be in sight now. Because of this I'd like to install 3 120mm argb or rgb fans in the front how ever I still have a few questions about this since this will be my first time doing this. 1. What is the difference between ARGB and RGB? (I haven't been able to find a clear answer by browsing the web) 2. How do I connect it in order to be able to control things like the colours? (My motherboard does have RGB headers. But I also read stuff about controllers and I'm really lost on this topic.) I hope you can help me along and am looking forward to your insights! Edit: My system specs are: Processor: Ryzen 5 5600X Mobo: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 GPU: RX 6600 8GB Gigabyte eagle Ram: 4x8 Corsair vengeance DDR4 3200MHZ Storage: Kingston NV2 1TB m.2, Crucial P3 1 TB SSD PSU: Thermaltak Smart BM2 650W Semi Modular 80 Plus Bronze Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow OS: Windows 11 pro

Hello everybody! I just made this account because non of my friends is sadly that much interested or has weird ideas like I do. So first of the system I have now is completely fine and I've got nothing to complain about but I like to change things from time to time. I'm currently thinking about moving to a much more efficient tower. The tower should have a sidepanel where I can put 2-4 fans for air intake. I saw that corsair had the Graphite Series 600T but I can't find any vendor (in Germany) for that. Other than that since I've got only one 2"5 SSD so the whole HDD/SDD rack is a waste of space. I could saw it out but I don't think I'm a fan of this idea. I'm also thinking about throwing my rbg parts out. As I grew older the flashing lights are less appealing to me so I would look for more effective fans but of course only if it really makes a difference and I can controll them over software (like iCue for Corsair). I'm thinking of some Noctua fans actually so if you provide me the best between noise and cooling I'd be thankful So I'm looking mainly for a new tower, secondary for new casefans. I tried to highlight specific parts for my main problems/ideas and also provide you some of my beautiful mspaint creations. I thank everybody in advance for even giving it a thought and I appreciate any recommandation you have. Also please be respectful and don't give me hate for some of my equip. I tend to do this all of my own and my friends only show minimum interest to the whole PC building stuff so I got none to debate with. So my current setup is this: Case: Corsair 750D Airflow PSU: 1000W be quiet! Dark Power Pro Modular 80+ Platinum Motherboard: MSI-Pro Z690-A DDR4 (ATX) CPU: i9-12900K GPU: Palit RTX3090 Gamerock OC (undervolted) [ 304 x 136 x 60 mm ] RAM: 2x 16GB Vengeance Corsair RGB Pro Soundcard: Sound Blaster Z CPU-Cooling: H115i Elite Capellix (front of case 2x Corsair ML140) Case-Cooling top: 3x Corsair LL140 Case-Cooling rear: 1x Corsair LL140 (1 LED is defective) 3x M.2 SSDs 1x 2"5 SSDs The "eggshell" colored once are the idea I have. The black one is my current setup.

Hey guys, I recently got a new case (Cooler Master Masterbox mb520 ARGB) and I do not notice any difference between the new and the old one. I got the three front panel fans pushing air in and I also got 2 aftermarket fans on the top pushing air in. The last is the stock black fan on the back pushing air out. The problem is that I do not notice any temperaturdifference if the fans are on or off. I got a ryzen 5 2600 with the stock cooler and it heats up to 69 degrees under load. The fan gets really loud because it gets up to 100% and so is the case fans. I also have Gigabyte rtx 2060 windforce OC which is loud as f.ck. The GPU goes up to 83 degrees with the fans on 90% and with that making a lot of noise. I bought a cooler master tx3 evo for my old setup and im wondering if it would make any difference for the CPU temps. Also, I took the down the max TDP for the GPU to about 85% and then it gets up to 75 degrees with the fans on like 60%. The whole package makes a lot of noise and I dont know what im doing wrong. Pls help Best regards, a guy with a setup thats loud as f.ck

I have the COLORFUL X370 motherboard. My case fan is pretty old and connected to a 3 pin port on the motherboard labeled sysfan Now i am trying to replace it, as i fear the fan's bearing is failing. However, markets only have PWM fans, with 4pin connectors available. Do i need to find a really old fan model which has 3 pins connector, to replace my current fan? Or is there some work around I can use? Please guide

If you are confused by what the title means I will explain to you what Im trying to ask. So I was wondering if you can have different fans from different companies in the same pc build. I am planning to use the Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB fans as my front fans and the Cooler Master MF120R ARGB 3in1 fans as my rear fans and top fans. How much ports will using these fans take up. Also, because I am mixing companies will it be harder to install and will there be more flaws? I am wondering what the pros and cons are of mixing companies in the same build for a pc and is it okay if you do it? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hey everyone - I'm having a problem concerning a Y-cable splitter I bought recently (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812119872&cm_re=rosewill_y_splitter-_-12-119-872-_-Product). I have two case fans: a 4-pin pwm 92mm fan set up as an exhaust (http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/case-fan/blade-master-92/) and a 3-pin non-pwm 80mm fan set up as an intake (http://noctua.at/en/nf-r8-redux-1800). I purchased and installed the 92mm one first, and it worked fine. I then wanted a second one, so I purchased the 80mm one. This is where the problem starts: I only have one case fan header on my motherboard, labeled "CHA_FAN". So I bought the splitter I linked above, along with some 3-pin to molex adapters (http://noctua.at/en/na-sac1.html) just in case the splitter didn't work or whatever. I did some research recently and found out that in order to use a splitter, you should make sure both fans connected to it are identical, due to the fact that the motherboard will try and run them at the same speed. Due to that, I attempted to connect the 80mm fan directly to the psu, however once I installed the fan, I saw that the "molex" cables that were inside my computer were a little strange, because they had two ends: one end was a molex and the other was a sata. I saw the molex ends not plugged into anything, while the sata ends were plugged into the harddrives. I decided to just go ahead and test the splitter out since it was my only remaining option. I turned the pc on and everything. and saw that both fans were working, although the exhaust was now running at around 2,000 rpm instead of the usual 1,300 that it used to run at (while idle). I'm unsure of the speed the intake fan is running at. As of right now, the exhaust is still running at 2,000 rpm. I even checked the bios and it showed the "CHA_FAN" reading fluctuating wildly between 900, 1400 and 2200 rpm. I'm unsure of what to do at this point, I would greatly like to just connect the 80mm fan to the psu, but I can't, right? Any help is greatly appreciated.

In my system the psu fan is the loudest thing by far i want to replace it. I know i snip the wires and replace with another fan but i dont want to do all that work. I have 2 casefans running low noise and slow speed. Can i just remove the psu fan, flip the psu facing up and tape one of my casefans ontop of it leaving it run from the motherboard? the air coming out of my psu is cold to the touch. my cpu OC maxes at 48C and my gpu at 65C, so i have some headroom to miss one Casefan. - Will the psu even power on, or not start cause it senses it has no fan attached? - Will one casefan cool it enough knowing right now it is cold air coming out of the psu. - Will it make any accoustic improvement facing it up? Hope you guys can help me. thx alrdy

Hi there, I started up my PC today, and one of my case fans started making a weird noise. (I have the video attached) It eventually fixed itself over time, going from 400rpm to 1200. I have some concerns about this and would like to know if there is anything I can do to fix it. I also have noticed that one of my AUX connectors on my Mobo have... varying temps. Going from -120C to 120C. Any feedback is appreciated! Hopefully my screenshots and videos can show what is going on better than I can tell. IMG_0491.MOV

I have considered replacing my original fans from deepcool on my AIO, since they are a bit noisy sometimes. They are currently plugged into the system fan header, since I only have one CPU-fan header on my mobo. I have considered using the shadow wings 2 120 mm PWM white from bequiet, since they fit into my white theme and have a quite dB rating. But when I compare the specs I see that: bequiet shadow wings 2 120 mm PWM white has airflow of 38,5 CFM air pressure of 0,82 mmH2O https://www.bequiet.com/en/casefans/1700 I am currently using a deepcool Captain 240EX white which has: Airflow of 153 CFM Air pressure 3,31 mmH2O http://www.gamerstorm.com/product/CPULIQUIDCOOLER/2016-04/1286_5201.shtml Would there be any problems just replacing the fans?

Hello. I recently build my first gaming pc. the case i use is a Corsair Crystal 460x White Mobo: Asrock X470 Taichi Cpu: Ryzen 5 2600x Gpu: Asus rog strix gtx1070ti Ram:2x8 Corsair vengeance LPX 3200 mhz Psu:Corsair rm750x White. My question is. My case comes only with 3 SP120 fans in front for intake and none for exhaust. What type of fan should i buy for exhaust fan (SP, AF, HD, ML ,LL). from a little research that i did the best fan for exhaust is airflow fans but Corsair has only AF fans for Airflow. Can i add an ML as exhaust? Would this ML be that good as an AF or should i buy the AF only? The reason i want ML is because i want the rgb. My case comes with RGB fun hub installed but i read that i cannot connect there if i buy any other fan only if it is an SP. So the Fan that you will suggest me to buy for an exhaust will i be able to connect it to my motherboard and controll its speed? Thanks in advance

So i bought a prebuilt cyperpower pc in a https://www.buyxg.com/spec/getspec.aspx?n=CAS&v=CyberpowerPC ONYXIA Mid-Tower Gaming Case w%2F USB 3.0%2C Front %26 Side Tempered Glass (Black Color) case. it has two side mounted 120mm fans that blow out and the rear 120mm fan is blowing out too. Temps (according to corsair) AMD Ryzen 7 2700X at 45c ish and a Radeon RX 580 at 45c, both at idle temps. IM going to add a 140 mm to the top blowing out and was wondering if I should flip the two side mounted 120s so they are intakes and the case is an in and out airflow instead of an all out case? Thank you for the help

Do i need to buy more case fans for Corsair 460X? Now their is only the fans which came with the case Front : 140mm Rear: 120mm 1 In and 1 Out Fans. There is space for 2 more, 140mm Fans in the front and there is more space in the top of the case. Should i buy more Case fans? if so how should i arrange it for proper air flow in the case? the case does get warm when playing Witcher 3 , GPU temp get up to 50 - 60 Degree Celsius. Hi, I am new in this forum, I want to add my case 3 fans but I am not sure if they will control their speed because I will use a fan splitter (because I only have 1 system-fan), is a good idea use the fan splitter or should I get a hub fan controller (wich one?)? (Btw, the fans might be some Arctic F14/ Coolermaster sickflow 12blue or Noctua NF-P12 redux because my budget is like 40-50 usd) (Sorry for my grammar)

I have a Phanteks Eclipse P400S case, it comes with 2 fans pre-installed. One at the front (120mm) and one at the rear (120mm). I assume one is intake and one is exhaust. I want to add 2 more fans, one at the top (exhaust) and one more at the front (intake). Would this be a good idea to better the airflow in my case? My case allows for 140mm fans, I assume that these would be better than 120mm fans right? As far as performance and sound go. So now my question is, which fans should I buy. I've did some research and I'm deciding between the Noctua NF-14 Chromax (I assume they have the same performance as the non-chromax ones right?) and the bequiet! Silent Wings 3. They're both around the same price here. Which of those would be better performance and sound wise? I'm also wondering if I need to buy some sort of splitter to connect the two new fans, and if yes which one should I buy? Specs: i7-6700K (with Scythe Mugen 5 cpu cooler) MSI GTX 1080Ti Gaming X 16 GB DDR4 RAM Asus Z170 Pro Gaming EVGA SuperNova 650 G3 Phanteks Eclipse P400S

What programs do you guys use to control fan speeds based on temperature? I use MSI Command Center, but it doesn't save my settings after a boot. It's really annoying.

Hey, I was wondering if there is any better case fan that is also very silent and has black as its main colour. I personally was looking into: Antec TrueQuiet Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPRO PWM be quiet! Silent Wings 2 PWM -they are all 140mm I also looked up http://www.silentpcreview.com/ and they say that the Antec fans are doing great and since they are that cheap I'm really not that sure. So I was wondering if there are any other fans that perform great, but still be able to be very quiet. And black I really don't like the Noctua style .

The time has come for me to upgrade the cooling on my PC and I'm on a really strict budget, the first think I'm getting is a Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler, and I want to get a new set of case fans as well, I currently own a Cooler Master Centurion 590 which allows me to use either 8 120mm fans or 4 140 mm fans and 4 120 mm fans. I'm almost convinced of getting the 4 140mm fans since I already have 3 120's. Now, here comes the tricky part: since I'm on a really strict budget, most of the things I've been interested in eiter Amazon or Newegg are kind of expensive for me (10 usd per fan is what I at the moment would consider expensive). So, I've found a couple of items which have gotten my attention, however the reviews vary from really good product to piece of garbage, with other having better reviews yet a lot les reviewers (say 4.5 stars out of 5 from 300 buyers vs 4.8 stars out of 5 from 8 buyers), statistically, the first one should be better, right? Anyways, I need your guidance to help me decide which of these case fans is better for the money Here are the choices: 4 Be quiet! Pure Wings 2 at 8.90 each: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0614&ignorebbr=1 A set of 4 Cougar Turbine (a little confused with this one since it's a seller different from Newegg and it says 10$ shipping, however when I put it in the cart, the shipping goes back to 0$): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2KM4562877&ignorebbr=1 2 sets of Rosewill 140mm fans: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K960BFY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1ZY3OOUNDAZGU 4 Kingwin 140 mm Advance Series fans: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014PXH2U8/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Those are my options and I currently have no idea which one would be better. The thing I look the most is cooling performance since I live in Venezuela and it's a very hot place. I don't mind too much if they are not whisper quiet, but I would appreciate not having a jet engine on my desk. I would very much appreciate your help, guys. Ps.: sorry for my potentially broken english

Hi! Srsly sorry for the stupid question i know this is like a pro PC builders forum but, i have 1 thing to ask. So i searched the internet and coudnt find how to open a case with a case fan on the 1 site.As u can see in the picture bellow there is a peace of glass and a fan build in it. The thing that bothers me is that the power cable for this fan is really tight and if i open this glass panel ,to clean the computer from inside, the wires will break. The wires go straight to the motherboard and then behind it. Because i didnt build that pc i dont know is it attached to the moterboard or dirrectly to the PSU (or even attached to something because it never turns on). I used „open hardware monitor“ to control the temperatures and it didnt recognizes that this fan is even connected. So can u tell me how to open a built-in case with a case fan properly. Sorry for this noob-like question. I know the cabling there is abig mess. The case vent model is HSD-8025.

[SOLVED] Help me decide! NZXT H440 vs. Phanteks Enthoo Pro.
Apoloxy posted a topic in Power Supplies
I can't decide if I should go for a NZXT H440 or a Phanteks Enthoo Pro. I want to cool my CPU with a Watercooler (Nepton 280L) but I can't decide what's better to take of the 2 cases... Should I get diffrent case fans aswell? Cause i'd like my case to be quiet (not super quiet) but atleast more quiet than my current Aerocool CyborgX case with a stock-fan on my CPU. So what do you guys suggest? Thank you. UPDATE: Decided to go for the Enthoo Pro thanks to Faceman. Thanks to everybody who helped me deciding. -
I don't know whether they're any good, but these fans are on Massdrop for $9.99 + shipping: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/sharkoon-blade-fans Please let me know if you've got any experience with those fans. I have a mouse from Sharkoon (the Fireglider) and I am very satisfied with it. Here's a promotional video from Sharkoon:
