  1. Sorry to type such a huge question please see all the pictures at the bottom to understand my texts better. Crazy Temps when Intake Case fans are on RX580(PowerColor Red Devil Golden Sample) and HDD(Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM, 128MB Cache) During Gaming temps are 80-85C on GPU and 46-47C on HDD (When intake fans are on Temps increase when intake fans are off temps reduce) Idle GPU on 40C(Fan stops spinning) CPU on 30C and HDD on 39C Ambient Room temp is 32C I have a Chiptronex Raptor RGB Case flipkart.com/chiptronex-raptor-rgb-tempered-glass-atx-gaming-cabinet-without-smps/p/itmfaf9rgczmxsnb View: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8I2nv2W2ps This is how it looks It came with 3 Front intake and and 1 rear exhaust I had added 3 Static RGB 120MM fans(Random ones form Aliexpress it says 50CFM) on top I have a Snowman M-T6 mounted on a i5-4590 in an orientation where the fans pull air from bottom to top because my Mobo(Biostar H81MHV3) wont allow me to fit it left to right RAM clearance issue also fitted the rear exhaust outside the case and flipped it and using it as intake due to the same clearance issue the case do not have enough space to fit the fan inside after using the cooler so I have 1 rear sending air to the CPU Cooler 3x front intake 3x top exhaust all 120mm fans the top exhaust all 3 are always running and I have a button to turn on or off the rear and front fans so when I turn them off the GPU temps decrease(runs cooler by 3-4C) and when I turn on the front 3 intake and rear 1 intake GPU temps increase(runs 3-4C hotter) I have no idea why and what to do I also stuck a stick and stopped the rear intake and let only the 3x front intake and 3x top exhaust run and I still got the same problem but with a small change the GPU temps raised by only 2-3C So running the read intake increase GPU temp by 1-2C and runing the 3x front intake increases the temps by 1-2C My ambient room temp is 32C i live in Pondicherry sount east India the city is mostly hot all the time Also my HDD temps alo goes to 46-47C when GPU load is high during idle HDD temp is 38C. Also the case says it supports 320mm rad on top and front but it cant fit any radiator anywhere because this stupid case do not have enough clearance between the mobo and the top (even the top exhaust fans are almost touching the mobo) and also the screw holes and the space(width of the case) do not seem to fit any AIO the space is very less. The pics of my PC are in the below links *Pics are taken with side panel off but I always leave the side glass panel on and all the info shared above are the temps with side panel on. Unable to upload images directly it says error -200 upload failed. 2. I have watched some videos on youtube and saw some builds place the AIO system with the radiator facing out right behind the front panel with the fans facing inwards behind the radiator doing a pulling in. Such orientation of the cooling system will be pushing the hot air from the radiator and hot air will accumulate inside the, even though the exhaust at the rear and at the top are running, but wouldn't such arrangement add more heat air to the original heat dissipated from the back of the GPU card and the motherboard? My question is, if I am building a new system with a 240mm AIO cooling system and I intend to install it at the front of the case, what is the most effective arrangement of the system in terms of fan and radiator orientation? ***Linus video are the best!
  3. I have been updating my pc over the past year and I have had some say my case is very bad for cooling and that I need to get a new case, is this true? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883230178 This is the case. I just got a 2070, upgraded the psu, and the fans to some corsair ones as well. I am planning on upgrading the system with one of the new Ryzen processors (3rd Gen) around 300$ and a new motherboard and 16 ram, and wanted to know if this case would be good for cooling all these components. Thanks!
  4. Hello! I just swapped my 900 RPM default fans that came with my S340 Elite from the back of the case to the front of the case and increased the fan speeds from 900 RPM to ~1200 RPM. The other fan is at 80% speed and the other one is at 94% so the fan speeds would match better (there was a 100 RPM difference when the both fans were at 80% . The other fan which is at 94% goes sometimes little bit over 1200 RPM like 1-3 RPM, is that something that I should be worried about? Should I lower the fan speed? (I don't know is it safe them to go above 1200 RPM) I'm using MSI's motherboard and there's an option to automate speeds (for example if the case temperature is at 50 °C the fans spin at 900 RPM and if the case temperature is at 70 °C the fans spin at 1000 RPM. Should I enable that?) I left a picture about the fan speed, if someone is interested. Thank you!
  5. Hi everyone, So my PC has been running quite hot lately, because of a new PSU I bought some days ago, so I had the idea of installing some fans so I can cool down my whole PC case. Because my case has only one fan on the front and none on the back. So which 92mm Fans do you think are the best for cooling an d for low noise operation? I was thinking of buying two Be Quiet! BL045 Pure Wings 2, but first I would like to know your guys opinions and tastes. Have a nice day
  6. The 200mm fan in my Coolermaster CM Storm Enforcer occasionally emits these, not whiny, but highly irritating grinding noise. It does this particularly at higher rpms, around 800rpm, and I am not sure how long it has been doing this and what exactly it means. To me, it seems like the bearing (it is a stock case fan, thus sleeve bearing) is going, or it's lubricant is running out. However, I am unsure because the sound can come and go, and although not very loud, it is perceivable if listening closely without having my headset on. I've noticed this "issue" for around two months. I am not sure if it always had it's "grinding" sound, because it can be very faint, and does fluctuate as it does not always appear. What exactly is happening?
  7. So at the moment I have the Tt armor revo and is has been a solid and great case for about a year now, Its a mid tower and im looking to go to a full, Is the Corsair 750D a good choice? I like the look of the case but the front 2x140mm fans concern because of the cases front panel... Anyone no anything about this case or if those front fans will even pull enough air or even has this case and wants to leave sme input, thanks again !
  8. Are corsair fans any good ? I have been looking at case fans for the last week and I noticed the corsair fans are nothing compared to other fans. For example the bitfenix spectre PWM LED 140mm fans, are quieter and at the same time have more cfm and static pressure than the corsair sp140/af140 (quiet edition) fans... what gives? It seems like that every fan manufacturer states their noise ratings so vaguely... most of them say their fans run at 20-30 db but when the fans run at 12V they come close to 40 or even more during reviews.. again what gives, I don't understand. So far I've settled for the Bitfenix spectre PWM LED 140mm intakes because they have high cfm and static pressure ratings and run at 24 db.. they look so basic but I cant say no to 56.1 cfm and 2.14mm/H20 (high pressure because of fine dust filter and hdd bays) and alpenfoehn wing boost 2 plus pwm 120mm as rear and top exhaust fan because they pull a shitload of air... and are rated at 20db are there any better fans out there? apart from noctuas (fans have to be black or blue)
  9. Hello everybody on linustechtips and welcome to my first post, i already did quite a bit of research concerning my question but did not manage to get a sufficient result. So here i am asking you! As the title suggests i own a Carbide R500 midi-tower which has 6 mounting points for case fans - not counting the side panel fan as i don't want to use that one. The mounting points distribute over the case as follows: 1x Back 2x Top 2x Front 1x Bottom I now have 4 Noctua NF-F12 fans to cool the case and my question is what is the best arrangement in order to achieve the best cooling result. I already got lots and lots of different opinions roaming from 3x exhaust (top, top, rear) and 1x intake (front) to 3x intake (front, front, bottom) and 1 exhaust (rear). Personally i would assume to get the best results with a 2/2 setup having 2x exhaust (rear, top) and 2x intake (front, front). Has anyone experience with this (or similar cases) and can give me a hint on how to arrange the fans? Is it in general better to have 2x top exhausts instead of rear, top? Or is one exhaust enough and i should use 3 intake fans? I am pretty confused by reading (probably too much) about this in various forums. Furthermore i am asking myself if it makes any sense to cover the side panel? The system houses a GTX 670 OC Windforce which blows hot air out of the sidepanel. Thank you in advance, Lorunification Edit: The CPU is cooled by a Noctua NH-U14S which blows air from front to the back and directly upon the rear fan mounting point.
  10. hello, i am looking on some support on how to cool my case. the image shows my case and how i plan to cool it, but im not sure this is the best way. i currently have: 1*120mm intake from the front 1*140mm noctua fan in-taking from the side panel PSU/GPU outputting in the back 2*140mm at the top of the case drawing air out as heat rises and a corsair h60 that will soon be put in, which im not sure to have in-taking fresh air into the radiator from the back then having the hot air taken out from the top or have it so the hot air is just pushed out of the radiator out of the back of the case would appreciate the help
  11. Hey everyone! I've been spending a lot of my spare time builing my first PC. It's finally finished but i'm still considering some changes to the air cooling in my system. I don't know if i'm cooling my system properly at the moment and I would like some advice, tips, or anything else that can help me improve my cooling. I will sum up my system specs before I continue: CPU: I5 4690K (stock) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97 gaming 5 GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX 960 4GB RAM: 16GB HyperX Fury PSU: Cooler Master G750M (750W) Case: Corsair Carbide Spec-01 SSD: Kingston HyperX 120GB Hard drive: 500GB Western Digital This is a picture of my system at the moment: To cool my system I use 4 120mm case fans. 2 for intake, 2 for exhaust. I also have a tower cooler for my CPU with a 80mm fan. - My 2 intake fans are placed in the front of the case. - For exhausing hot air, I placed one fan at the top of the case, and one at the back of the case - My CPU cooling tower blows hot air directly into the exhausting fan at the top. My fans are all spinning at a certain speed (defined by my Mobo's BIOS). The speeds increase as the temperature rises: - 2 intakes: 2,50 PWM / °C (maximum manual speed) - 2 exhausts: 1,00 PWM / °C - CPU tower: 2,50 PWM / °C The idle system temperatures are: - Case: 35 °C / 38°C / 28°C (sensors on Mobo) - CPU: 35-37 °C - GPU: 50-55 °C (in silent mode) I try to get a bit of positive pressure in my case to keep the dust out, but I don't know if this is the best solution. I used to have a more negative pressure but I noticed dust getting into my system (while the intake is filtered)... So, this is my situation at the moment. I'm trying to get the cooling as optimal as possible, that's why I want your opinion so I can make some changes when necessary! Note: I still have 1 120mm fan lying around and a spot at the top of my case. Could it be beneficial to place this fan at the top as a third, extra exhaust? Thanks in advance!

Well I am just wondering what fans are best for my case overall as I am not completely sure about static pressure etc and when to use static pressure fans, I'd say I have very basic knowledge of them for e.g I know to use Static pressure fans for radiators due to them being constricted. I'd like to say I am not a freak about the fans being as quiet as possible. I will be using Corsair fans due to them being much more affordable than noctuas in the uk, E.Gs. Noctua NF-F12 = £17.65 for 1 fan Corsair SP120 Performance edition = £22.73 for a 2 Pack. My current plan is to have: Radiator for H100i: Corsair SP120s Rear Exhaust: Corsair AF120 I assume the grill for the rear exhaust will not be a hindrance to them and would not require static pressure. This is where I am not entirely sure. I will have the top HDD cage removed and the fans mounted in the front panel with the dust filter on. Front Fans: Corsair SP120s I am thinking about using 1 AF120 for the top fan on the front where the HDD cage will be removed and 1 SP120 for the bottom fan where the HDD cage Will still be, but I am not entirely sure which would perform better. I think it should be the SP120s due to the grill of the front panel and the dust filter which would sort of make sense to get static pressure fans. Side panel: Corsair AF120s as I again assume the grill on the side panel like that of the rear exhaust will not be a hindrance to them and would not require static pressure. Thanks for any help in advanced, Blissing.
  13. So I'm not sure about my fan config in my case. I'm using a Corsair 450D with 2 intake fans on the front and one exhaust in the back. I'm also using a Nepton 240m for CPU cooling pooling air into the case and I'm running 2 blower 970s. Should the fans on the rad exhaust air? Anything else wrong with my config?
  14. Hey Guys I was wondering what would suit my new build the most, Corsair performance or quiet edition case fans? Specs of PC; Core: Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 Mobo: MSI H97 Gaming 3 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury red 8gb 2x4 PSU: Corsair CSM550M GPU: MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4gb Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 plus Thanks ^-^
  15. Hello, I'm upgrading my cases air cooling system at the moment, but i have ran out of fan headers. I have three 4pin chassis fan headers and one cpu fan header on the motherboard, which is a Asus M5a97 R2.0. Once all my part arrive I will be using one 4pin headers for rear exhaust, one 4pin for front intake, the CPU header and then I have one remaining 4pin for two top exhaust fans. So should I get a splitter for the final 4pin connector to run my two Corsair 120mm AF fans? The fans have 3pin plugs on them so can I get 4pin splitter and leave one pin unused? If so can can anyone recommend a splitter that will work for me... I found this on Amazon, is this correct? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FWXWPS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Thank you James
  16. Hello forum In a little while I will be building my new system in Lian Li's PC-V359 case, however, I'm a bit unsure how to optimize the airflow in the case. I will be using either Corsairs AF120's or their SP120's as fans in this case. The case is split in two compartments, a lower and an upper. The lower part isn't a problem, since I'm most likely just going to put a SP120 down there(maybe even a noctua, who knows). The upper part on the other hand is where I become unsure. The picture down below should give a pretty good idea of where I'm considering mounting fans: The CPU cooler for this system will be a single tower air cooler from be quiet!, the Dark Rock 3(green on the picture). The blue spots on the picture air places that I'm sure to place fans, however, I'm in doubt about two things: should they be AF120's or SP120's and should they blow air into the case or pull air out of the case? The rear exhaust will naturally blow air out of the case, but what about the two other 'blue fans'? Aditionally it's possibly to mount two fans behind the GFX, but I'm not sure whether or not this is worth it with noise levels in mind. Should I place these(yellow ones)? If yes I'm probably going with SP120's. Thanks for any and all help
  17. By any chance is there a case designed for AIO/custom loop that has the GPU, radiator and PSU in a separate chamber? Theory is to have maintenance as easy/quick as possible, by having all the things that cause dust buildup on filters to be in one place. All other components would sit in a near airtight main chamber where dust cannot reach. Do suggest any that fits the description, even if its close.
  18. ATM i have Corsair H80i v2 as exhaust (in the back), and 2 front coolers that came with the case. Does my H80i function as a case overall exhaust or just CPU's? Do i need to buy another cooler? A 140mm top cooler perhaps?
  19. So as the title says, do you guys think that it would be ok to hook an air conditioning unit to a computer case? The case's air flow would be completely restricted except for the input and output form the AC unit. so would it work?

    Suck or Blow

Hi, Just after some advice really I have just purchased the following case --> http://www.corsair.com/en/carbide-series-spec-03-orange-led-mid-tower-gaming-case I have also purchased x4 Corsair Air Series AF120 case fans and a h75 cpu cooler. Just wondering if anyone could provide some advice on the configuration of the fans as I'm open for suggestion (I would be replacing one stock fan with the consair fans) I was currently thinking of having x4 intakes and then using the h75 as an exhausts to keep cold air over this however I thought this may increase the pressure in the case which can give a negative impact. I then though of having 3 intakes and then two exhausts including the h75. This would mean having two exhausts with one on the back and one on the top. If anyone could provide some advice that would be helpful p.s. Hope you like the topic title
  21. Hi everyone! I'm still a greenhorn when it comes to building and customizing my rig, so I would like some advice. My build consists of an AMD R5 1600 coupled with an Asus Prime B350M-A Mobo. The mobo has only 2 fan headers, one for the cpu cooler and one for the rear chassis fan. I purchased 2 more RGB Fans from Cooler Master (MasterFan Pro 120 - RGB - Air Balance). Now the issue is, my mobo has neither the additional fan headers nor any RGB header. Is there any way for me to run my fans with RGB? I did a little window shopping on amazon and found a cooler master RGB controller, and a fan hub. Two separate products. Is there a product which combines the two? or should I buy both? I am worried that I will have too many controllers taking up space because I also purchased the NZXT Hue+ which is currently en route. For reference, my build consists of Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Mobo: Asus Prime B350M-A CPU Cooler: Stock AMD wraith spire RAM: Crucial 8GB 2400Mhz GPU: Zotac NVidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB AMP! Edition SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB HDD: 2x WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM Case: Cooler Master Masterbox 5 White Edition PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt Lite 500 Thanks in Advance!
  22. Hello all you lovely people. I need some advice and input. I am planning my next build and got stuck with the RGB bug that is going around these days. I want good RBG fans, and I am thinking of using a Gigabyte board. Any good recommendations on fans that work with Gigabyte RBG, should I worry about it at all? I would like to use mobo software since I can be lazy and control it from my phone or desktop....ALSO they make good boards.
  23. Hey, so I'm about to build my pc really soon, and I am stumped on what my fan should be setup. I have a Corsair H110i GT AIO cooler, and also bought a noctua NF-A14 PWM fan. The fans included with the case are two Fractal Design GP14 fans that run at 1000rpm. My initial plan was to have the included fans at the front as intake (all drive bays and optical bays removed except for on which hangs at the top) and my H110i at top as exhaust, leaing my Noctua fan as an exhaust with the low noise adapter. Is this fine? And should I turn the rpm down for the Noctua fan as low as I can? Thanks, pmanftw
  24. I am currently in the process of completing a new pc build. The chassis I'm using is an AERO XPREDATOR CUBE, and the GPU I'm proposing is the ZOTAC GTC980Ti AMP edition. Obviously I will watercool the CPU and will install a 240 watercooler ( ENERMAX LIQMAX 2), which I will mount on the top. I am keeping the stock 200mm fan that comes with the case and will install a 140 aerocool shark fan at the back. However I am still concerned that the cpu cooler will take the brunt of the heat since it will need to pushout the GPU exhaust as well. Has anyone got a similar rig or any ideas if this will be enough for it to work without loading the cpu cooler. Any tips ideas or anything would really help

    Fan control

Hi guys, I'm planning to build a low noise optimized gaming PC with these components: -Intel i7-4790k -Corsair H100i (using SP120s High Permormance fans) -Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x8 GB -MSI Z97S SLI Plus Krait Edition (available soon) -Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 -Samsung 850 PRO 128GB (OS and common use apps) -WD Caviar Black 1TB -Corsair RM750 80 Plus Gold -NZXT H400 (replacing the rear fan with a Corsair AF140) My intention is to keep the 3 front stock fans included in the case, replace the stock 140mm rear fan with the AF140 and mount the H100i's 240mm radiator at the top replacing the stock fans with the SP120s pushing air out. The three front fans would be controlled together, the same to the two radiator fans. The question here is about controlling them. I've seen the MoBo has itself 2 CPU 4xpin fan headers and 3 system 4xpin fan headers, but as I'll install the H100i, with the Corsair Link software I think I would be able to control the speed of, at less, the radiator fans. Here comes my doubt; I would like to set a configuration which gradually increased fan RPMs according to the CPU temperatures, so as to keep the PC as quiet as possible. I don't know if the Corsair software would allow me to do so with all the fans. As you may have seen, I'm a complete noob; if some of you could help me I would be very thankful. And, if you think improvements in the build can be made, let me know please Ivax98
