Hey guys, I've just upgraded my GTX1080 to a new AMD 7900XT GPU. The new GPU blocks access to the bottom most PCIex16 slot, which previously housed my capture card. (I'm trying to avoid doing the obvious things like getting an ATX size board, or selling the capture card and going for an external one.) Here are the relevant details about my system. Motherboard: Asus TUF B550m plus (this is an mATX size board) GPU: 7900XT GPU Capture card: Elgato 4k60 Pro Case: Corsair 220T Anyways, I managed to get the 7900XT installed in the top PCIex16 slot on my board (lets call it PCIex16_1). However, my problem is that this new GPU is so thick that it blocks my secondary PCIEx16 slot (PCIex16_2). I was using PCIex16_2 with my Elgato 4k60 Pro capture card before, and now no longer can fit both simultaneously. SO I had the bright idea to just move the GPU down to PCIEx16_2. And move the capture card up to PCIEx16_1; everything seems to be running fine so far. Can someone help me understand what kind of performance hit I may take with the GPU in PCIex16_2? I know PCIex16_1 is 4.0 while PCIex16_2 is 3.0, but isn't 3.0 already enough bandwidth if I have enough lanes? Thanks!

I can either buy an internal or external DVD player, are there benefits of either. Or can I use a normal DVD player and a capture card to watch it on my computer?

Hello, I’m new to using capture cards and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a capture card that can do 1080p 165hz. It doesn’t have to record at 165fps 60 should be fine I just want to be able to see 165hz while playing.

Hi all, I recently just got my first capture card, ZasLuke Game Capture Card. Yes it's a cheap Chinese make which is produced under a million names... ignore that. My problem is, I'm hearing a hissing sound from the incoming audio on the PC. (Tried on 2 PC's, same issue) If I plug my headset into the capture card directly I hear no hiss (still hissing on pc though). If I plug something into the microphone port on the capture card, it halves the hissing sound instantly, but is still there on the pc. If I have the microphone plugged into the capture card and talk, during that time I talk the hiss is completely gone but slowly ramps back up. If I mute the capture card on the PC, of course the hissing stops completely but I cannot hear the game. I understand it is a super cheap capture card, but I cannot find anyone saying they have had this issue with this card or any card to that matter!? Any ideas?

Hello! I was setting up my capture card to start recording but it has an issue. I use a KeeQii USB 3.0 4K HDMI Video Capture Device. When I'm in streamlabs it keeps making this weird buzzing noise that is loud. This is how it sounds. Is there a solution to fix this and remove the buzzing sound or will I have to just get another capture card? 2021-02-22 20-05-12.mp4

I want to record my gameplay but I find that AMD's record function in driver is just suck and sometimes make some DirectX errors to game. Also tried OBS but the performance lost cannot be acceptable. So I'm planning to buy a capture card to record my gameplay. The problem is, I'm using a 4k 144Hz monitor. Is there any capture card support 4k 144Hz passthrough? recording resolution is OK to be 60Hz, both external and internal type can be acceptable.

Hi, I recently installed an Elgato 4k60 pro Mk.2 capture card in my pc. To capture my gameplay, I have to duplicate my main display to the capture card. Now when I tab out of a fullscreen game, the animation takes a lot longer than before and when I tab out 2-3 times, the game kind of crashes (it’s still running but I can’t get it to show up anymore, so I have to close it). It also does like a new animation when I am tabing out. I am using Alt+ESC btw. Does someone know how I can fix it, cause it really sucks when I have to restart my game when I tab out once or twice. I am running the latest version of Windows 11 and the problem did not occur before I had the duplicate display thing turned on and when I unplug the capture card it worked again like before with no issues at all Hope someone can help, Flex

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor Motherboard - X570 UD Rev 1.0 Gygabyte Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB Display(s) - Asus TUF Gaming VG27BQ 144hz up to 165hz (OC) Hello guys, I am looking to free up the workload of my GPU, I often stream and play from the same computer. Therefore I am looking for a capture card that can record at 1440p at 144hz to match my monitor, or at 4k 60fps. Since I am in doubt, I am posting this because those two Elgato Pro Mk2 or AVerMedia GC573 seems to be most popular but I am wondering that by posting my ring specs I can get a prover recommendation, even from other card from different brand.

I have just got the card this week and been trying to figure out how to get ps4 party chat and ps4 audio to my obs so I can stream in twitch. I have tried using 2 accounts using my main for chat and 2nd for getting audio from 2nd controller. I am using my turtle beach recon 70 headphones I got from walmart if that helps. -
Hello! So I stream using StreamlabsOBS and recently bought an Avermedia capture card, there was a pretty hefty delay so I ended up sending it back as everything I tried to do to fix it didn't work and I thought it might just be faulty. I've now bought an Elgato HD60 instead and this has the same issue. I followed every setup guide out there, asked friends who have Elgato stream gear and all of them have said they've never had this issue. I've tried: Disabling Timestamps Disconnecting/reconnecting Updating drivers Trying a wired headset Adjusting the ms delay in SLOBS Trying different HDMI cables in case one in damaged Starting a fresh multiple times Non of this has worked and I've done more but at this point there's just too much to remember and list. If anyone has any reccomendations or fixes I would be beyond grateful at this point.

I prefer the Avermedia, because It'll allow recording of high frame rates upto 240 on 1080P, which I prefer, because I can fiddle with slow motion effects much better that way. But on the other hand the Elgato 4k60 Mk2, can send out two separate signals allowing you to stream at (My pref. 936p) and even record raw non-overlay vod at 4k, but it's maxed at 60 FPS for recording

I realized that the capture card dosent have a display port and I wont be able to connect the capture card to my main monitor. I was wondering if I can connect it to my second monitor so because that has a regular Hdmi cable but will it still capture my main monitor or do I need to buy a hdmi cable.

Im looking for a way to route my console into my pc so i could view it on my pc like a fullscreen or windowed program, all the capture cards seem focused on pass through and feeding into programs like obs, i just want the raw video/audio displayed in a window on my pc does anyone know if there is a capture card optimized for that.

Hello, I have a perplexing issue that I'm not making any headroom on. I run a dual PC setup, and I'm trying to stream COD Warzone but I'm running into a key issue. Any time I try to switch from full screen to borderless, my gpu utilization goes from full to 40-60% and fps goes from 100+ to fluctuating between 48 and 72 fps, it doesnt go lower or higher than those numbers. I know the obvious solution is to just keep it at fullscreen, but If I stopped there this post would be irrelevant. I know the issue resides somewhere in capturing the gameplay, when I stop duplicating the display to the capture card the issue goes away completely. The other strange thing is that when the game is out of focus and another window is open over it, the game goes back to full fps and gpu utilization. Thats the part that is really making me scratch my head, the issue goes away when I'm tabbed to another window in the same display. Here is the hardware I'm working with: 9900ks Asus z370 Prime-A 32GB (4x8) 3200 Mhz RAM 2x 1080ti sli (Evga SC2 Hybrid) Capture Card: Elgato 4k Pro (using 1440p 144 htz signal) Main Monitor is 1440p 144 htz Gsync compatible with Gsync enabled. (Issue is present with gsync on and off) Secondary monitor is also 1440p 144 htz The goal here is to find a solution that meets these criteria: -I can run the game windowed borderless -I can duplicate the display to the Elgato -Gsync ON (Again, issue present regardless of gsync) -SLI enabled (haven't tried that but not willing to disable just for one game) -GPU back to full utilization. That's going to be the challenge, I need help from the LTT quarantined army to slove this for me. I hope the issue is a simple one I'm just blind to. Thanks in advance! (Also sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot, I debated which forum to use)

I've been considering a secondary mini-pc (nuc etc) for use as a dedicated twitch streamer with an external capture card, but would I encounter any issues since i game at 1440p? Also, what range of cpu would be required for streaming 720-1080p for that box?

Hi all, Purchased a Dell desktop (would build but for business so need an easy warranty) to use for capturing video to livestream and record. I need a x8 slot for the capture card I am using (Blackmagic DeckLink Quad HDMI), and the board only has one x16 slot (gen 3 I think) so my graphics card (AMD Ryzen Pro WX3100) i have had to put in a x4 slot. Will this have a noticeable impact on performance? Also, is a graphics card even necessary for my workload? Will be running 3 full hd PTZ cameras and one PC in all over HDMI. Planning to use Wirecast studio as the solution to stream it all. pc spec is: i7 8700 16gb DDR4 2666mhz 256gb m.2 ssd Radeon Pro WX 3100 Blackmagic DeckLink Quad HDMI capture card (x8) Would really appreciate any tips! Thanks all!

So, for people who want to record their gameplay for example, they have to buy a capture card (which is very expensive btw)because software solutions are often limited duration and/or have a watermark and they drop your framerate when you use them when gaming (especially on lower-end systems). I have an Xbox One and it has HDMI passthrough so I was wondering if there is some kind of software for the xbox to record my gameplay while connected to the pc and a monitor with HDMI. That would be great because I wouldn't have to buy a seperate capture card for recording my gameplay. Is there maybe some application for that or just an option???

Hey everyone how goes it? So the other day I went out and bought myself an Elgato HD60 S capture card...it requires a USB 3.0 connection in order to work. I have 3 USB-A 3.0 ports on my laptop and one USB-C 3.0 port. No matter what I've tried I can't seem to get OBS or the card itself to recognize that I'm plugging it into a USB 3.0 port. It's passing through HDMI to HDMI perfectly fine. I can see things on my TV, but not in my capture software. I'm using a ROG GL503 laptop (I know BLEH GAMING LAPTOP but i'm in a dorm room with another person...) Here are the USB controllers on my motherboard: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F&SUBSYS_201F1043&REV_31USB\VID_13D3&PID_5666&REV_0322USB\ROOT_HUB30&VID8086&PIDA12F&REV0031 I've made sure webcams are enabled, installed new bios and drivers, changed which port I was plugging the capture card into different USB 3.0 ports, disabling and re-enabling the device in device manager...not sure what else I can do. Device manager is saying the device is working properly. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue? Thanks everyone :3

So I barely got my second pc for streaming and I'm using the Elgato HD60 pro as my capture card, and I'm wondering since I duplicated my monitors on the Nvidia panel from the elgato and the main 144 hz monitor, do I get capped at 60hz and a certain amount of frames? I check my display settings and it says its at 143 hz still but I don't know a lot of people were saying they were capped at 60hz. If that's the case what's the best solution to get my full 144 hz?

So I had ordered an $80 capture card from Amazon and it came in today. I hooked it up and ran it through OBS and the sound of the game was garbly and kind of distorted. I'm running the game from an SNES, which the cable is connected towards an AV switch, that then goes to an AV to HDMI adapter, which is then plugged into my capture card and out to the TV, with a USB 3.0 connection. Is there any way I can fix this? 2019-11-12 14-57-21.mp4

2019-11-18 02-43-31.mp4 I wanted to start a new thread about this issue since my last one was solved and this touches on a different kind of audio problem. So like my last thread about this issue, my set up contains of two splitters and a capture card (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FXHN43Y/?coliid=I9E5HKO2HARPR&colid=2MDIW0P0UJ3UM&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it After having it plugged in to the back of my computer, the audio was slightly fixed. The NEW problem is that the sound the card is catching is deeper in tone and there are occasional hiccups every few seconds. There was an idea for me to get some composite cables and plug them to the back of my computer, as well as a new audio driver from eBay, but I'm wondering if there are other ways to deal with this problem. Just so you know, I am not interested in recording videos for YouTube, merely livestreaming on Twitch, so post-production edits are off the table. Thank you guys for your help.

I want to get a capture card to record switch game play, but people are telling me not all capture cards work with switch. Is this true, and if so, is there a capture card that does work for switch? Preferably under 100$ Also preferably 1080p 60fps, I want to record COD from my xbox as well and 30fps won't cut it.
