So I've when I built this PC it worked for an entire year without any issues: i7-10700k 2x16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 MSI Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi RTX 2060 One day the RAM suddenly broke, both sticks. Randomly had bluescreens, pc crashed, memtest86 failed (individually for each stick too), etc.. I tried my broken RAM sticks in my friends pc and he instantly had bluescreens, crashes and all the issues too. I tried his RAM in my PC and it worked fine. He has 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX LP DDR4-3200. So i refunded the RAM and got brandnew 32GB Trident Z's. They instantly broke again. Same testing as before, doesnt work in friends pc either once again. I figured it has to be a mainboard issue then, so i replaced my MSI Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi with a MSI Z590 Gaming Edge Wifi. I refunded the RAM once again, got new ones and they broke once again. Now i replaced the PSU from a 600 Watt beQuiet with a 850 Watt beQuiet, refunded the RAM once again and it broke again. Im bought the same RAM my friend has for now, since they seem to work in my PC for whatever reason. I have no clue what could be the issue at this point but i want to have 32 GB of RAM back. Do you think I can get 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance without them breaking? I hope someone can help me.

Alright so after going through with buying a Razr+ knowing initially the standard warranty didn't cover the inner screen, it was on sale for 699usd and I needed a new phone. I was thinking by now foldables should be fine for the most part, if anything it would be 6 months before /minor/ damage showed up. Within the first month of normal daily use the screen broke, luckily I still qualified for the 'Moto Care' plan that covers physical damage. Otherwise you have to foot the repair bill which is somewhere about 620usd, yikes. So after falling in love with the phone overall, and sunk cost fallacy in full force. I decided to buy the 'Moto care' plan that was also on sale for 172usd instead of it's full 250usd cost. Which gives you 3 screen repairs before you deductible goes up.. . Then, after waiting three days for the digital plan to be "delivered" it still cost me 100usd upfront to file a screen repair ticket. I wanted the unlocked version of the phone that still worked with Verizon, because Verizon hates phones, so I bought the phone directly from Motorola and the sale price was great. But now I can't just take it to the store and have them deal with it. For being Moto's Flagship phone, this is pretty wild. Anyway, I feel this should probably be getting a little more attention than it seems to be. It sucks, I love my foldable, I bought the cool heavy duty case for it that made it look like a sci-fi device, the form factor is amazing. The cool mini screen was awesome, I love Tiny Youtube with it folded on the table, all the shake actions from my Moto Z2 Force are there(which is the phone I had to go back to). It's all around great and sparked joy, but the screen,, I don't want to go back to a slab phone Another person on reddit with the same issue:

Every time I watch Shorts, the area where it normally shows the title, channel, etc is completely broken and the formatting is messed up. I attached some example screenshots. Anyone know why? Works fine on Firefox: I really don't want to clear my cookies/cache/site settings because that might mess up notifications, accounts and passwords, etc.

Hello, An interesting problem has popped up where when I plug in a headset to my computer one side stops working. First it was with my Razer headset 3 years ago which i thought just broke with an internal problem with the headset itself. After that, for 3 years I didn't use any wired headsets. Today I tried my little brothers HyperX headset, which at first worked fine, both sides working and all that. But when I plugged them back in about 2 hours later, one side stopped working once again. And now even when I plug them into my brothers PC, they're one sided there too. Here is a list of methods I've tried - (Check the headphone connection: Ensure that the headphone plug is fully inserted into the audio jack on your laptop. Sometimes, a partial connection can result in sound only playing in one ear. Try gently adjusting or reinserting the plug to ensure a secure connection. Test with different headphones: If possible, try using a different pair of wired headphones with your laptop. This will help determine if the issue lies with the headphones or the laptop's audio jack. Update audio drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause sound issues. Visit the manufacturer's website of your laptop and search for the latest audio drivers for your specific model. Download and install the drivers, then restart your laptop and test the headphones again. Adjust audio settings: Go to the sound settings on your laptop and check if there are any balance or mono/stereo settings that may be affecting the audio output. Ensure that the balance is centered and that stereo sound is enabled. Try a different audio jack: If your laptop has multiple audio jacks, try plugging the headphones into a different jack to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to one audio jack. Test on another device: If possible, try using your wired headphones on another device, such as a smartphone or another laptop, to see if they work correctly. This will help confirm if the issue is with the headphones or the laptop.

When i turned on my pc today it was only showing a black screen with some horizontal lines (sometimes flashing or flickering) above and some vertical white lines just static. I think it is not my monitor's fault because it shows clearly the bios splash screen.i tried using other sources of display but the problem is still there so i think the problem is with the monitor. The lines and the glitch changes over time. Is this water damage? Broken fuse? I do not recall hitting this or the monitor falling. Somebody please help me. So I have had my pc for a while, an i9 13900k and 4090 but recently it kept freezing, I did all the basic troubleshooting and nothing sorted it so i reinstalled windows now my rog strix motherboard won't connect to the Internet, I updated bios using USB, and still won't, tried ethernet cable, won't work, nothing wrong with router, everything else connected to it is fine, and since Windows requires an Internet connection to do practically anything I am stuck, any help is appreciated

Hi, everyone. I'm attempting (keyword attempting) to set up a home office/gaming setup type deal. The router I have has exactly ONE outgoing port, so I bought an Ethernet switch and hooked everything up. One PC? Wired connection works great, just fine. Other? Nada. Nothing. It feels like EVERYTHING has been exhausted trying to get this to work, and I have exacerbated the Ethernet switch's own basic and escalated customer service and troubleshooting, Windows customer service, my ISP's customer service, and even a close work friend who has been working in IT for almost a decade. None of them can figure it out. This has been an issue for over a week. I got so sick of this I drew a GRAPH in frustration to illustrate what it is I am trying to do. See "hELPME.png" below. Here is a comprehensive list of everything I have done to try to fix the issue: - Check and re-check my cables aren't damaged ( they are brand new, bought less than 2 weeks ago ) - Plugged said cables into different Ethernet ports on ALL devices. - Verified aforementioned cables work on different devices. They do. - Ran the whole "ipconfig - release - /flushdns" shtick. Twice. - Hard reset my entire network, starting at the modem and router by physically unplugging them and plugging them back in, device by device. - Physically cleaned all ports of any dust. - Updated and re-downloaded Ethernet and wi-fi drivers. I'm seriously at my wits end. I -need- this setup to work for my upcoming job or I'm gonna have to rescind my offer letter, my job requires a hardline connection. I will be actively monitoring replies and replying quickly, thank you to anyone who looks at this in advance.

So, long story short, I bought a used G27 wheel, it came with a missing foot which I was told I could buy another one and use just the one in the meanwhile by the seller. That lone foot was not only doing double hours, but was also clearly poorly 3D printed and, to no one's surprise, within an hour it broke. All good, I could just buy the 2 feet and replace them. Sure, now let's disassemble the wheel to remove the broken foot. It had obviously been open before and probably mostly by force, and closed up even worse. All good, after opening hundreds of used laptops, I was already expecting this. What I was not expecting was that one of the many stuck screws was one of the largest and hardest to access (One of the three screws that held the wheel assembly to the chassis). I couldn't remove it by the old and new gods and ended up giving up, however I did not give up on removing the old feet, no, there was enough of a gap for me to grab the broken foot and maybe even possibly use the same gap to replace the other ones in the future. Oh shit, something fell off. No sound of something breaking, nothing, it just fell off while I was removing the broken feet through the gap. TLDR: Broken G27, tried to open, something fell off. The part that fell off: (It's 6cm/2.3in long) Alright, now. I know this is a metal leaf spring. It came from somewhere inside (obviously) and fell from the back. All I want to know is: Do I need it? I can't open the whole wheel to put it back where it belongs, not with that stuck screw. So is this an integral part of the wheel, or can I just replace the feet and go on? In case it is an integral part, where does it belong? If it's important to the functionality of the wheel, I'll consider getting the screw drilled by a professional and opening up the wheel fully to put it back in. Also photo of the screw in question: Any help will be appreciated.

I hate that I have to write this as I was hoping what I have tried would fix it but unfortunately not. i have a gigabyte RTX 3080 ti gaming oc 12gb. I bought it off eBay for £500 as I wanted to upgrade from my 2060 and thought this was a good deal and would last me a long time. (Also I know it’s expensive that’s why I’m really panicking about this.) I bought it maybe 2 months ago and about a week or two ago I water cooled it (I’ve never water cooled a GPU before) So it’s possible I broke something while installing the waterblock but would that not have been immediately obvious? My temps under load I never saw exceed 60 degrees so I don’t think it could have been based on overheating. For backstory on how it happened, I was just playing gta with some friends then suddenly computer froze, (I could still hear some audio, mainly windows sounds, but discord audio stopped.) I didn’t know what to do, so I pressed the power button it waited a second and the pc shut down. I’m guessing this was a windows shutdown as I believe windows was running just not displaying. So hopefully no file corruption. Then when I turned it back on again, windows appeared to be running due to the fact my windows hello webcam light was flashing and I heard the computer sign in but there was just a few LEDs on my monitor on. I’ll attach a photo. More recently the computer won’t go into windows in the background at all. My motherboard is an asus rog strix z390-f, it has some led lights during boot sequence to help with trouble shooting and the VGA light remains on so it’s definitely a GPU issue and I was able to access my pc if I plugged my monitor into my motherboard and used my iGPU. I tried updating graphics drivers in GeForce experience but after express installation had finished it just came up with the express or custom install buttons again it didn’t say it was up to date (probably because it couldn’t find my GPU). Also in auorus engine it didn’t seem to detect the GPU. However, I have some hopes the GPU is still a wee bit alive as in GPU-Z it still recognised the GPU as a 3080 ti and all of its details. And in my BIOS it has a PCIE menu sort of thing and it detected a GPU was plugged into the PCIE slot. I’ve confirmed the PCIE slot works as I’ve plugged in my old 2060 and it boots fine. Another thing to note is the GPU was originally in a riser cable due to being vertically mounted, however I tried it without the riser cable and it still doesn’t work. Im completely stuck, I’ve emailed gigabyte support however because I’ve custom water cooled it and it’s used I doubt they’ll honour any warranty it may have and I’m just praying there is someone here with a fix. I’ve tried to include as much detail as possible to maybe help, if you have any more questions feel free to ask I’ll take all the help I can get. Thank you! Mark

Second PCIE Slot broken or just disabled ?
veerteex posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello together, i just bought and installed the MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS Motherboard in my PC. With a Ryzen 9 3900x. (btw i use arch ) As i like to use Gpu Passthrough I put the fist GPU (rx580) in the fist slot and my second GPU(rtx2070s) in the second. Both gpu's work fine in the fist slot but in the second neither of them works. So I updated the bios in hope it will work after the update but it didn't . So here's my question. Is the second PCIE slot broken? Or is it just disablet in the bios? I would like to know because then I could still replace it with a new one. Does any one had the same issue ? Thank you very much for your replies. veerteex -
When I Right Click On Any App In The Windows 11 Start Menu Under "All apps", The Uninstall Option is Missing. Also The Pin To Start Option is Also Missing. Only The "More" Menu. Maybe this is something to do with running debloat scripts, because I have a debloat script and I was running it on my system to see it working, my script literally gets rid of everything and I mean EVERYTHING. Maybe this has to do with the script.

Recently, while working on my laptop, I ripped the connectors off of my wifi card(Intel 8265), rendering the card AND the wires useless. I have found a wireless card on eBay that also has antennas included(picture below). The problem is that the included antennas are different from the antennas currently in the laptop, and I am unsure about how to install those antennas. How would I install those antennas(pictures below)? Or should I just not bother with those antennas, and just buy the original parts from eBay? The worst case is that I just buy a display assembly off of eBay that has the antennas already in it, but that would be quite a bit more expensive that I would hope. Sorry about the order of the pictures, I had to upload them one at a time and am on a phone. lat5480-om-en-us.pdf

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 3050 to a 4080 and I switched the graphics cards in a different room. I tried powering on in that room without a monitor and it worked (the rgb went on and the fans and everything) so then I powered off, removed the power cable, carried my Pc to my gaming room and now as soon as I turn on the power supply switch (without pressing the power button) the gpu starts flickering like a loose contact or smth. I also can’t start the PC so I’m stuck in this kind of flickering mode. The Card also doesn’t post. I’m freaking out right now but I thought before I break anything else Id ask the pros. If you’ve got any Ideas PLEASE let me know.

Hello, I’m having a problem with a laptop. It’s a Lenovo IdeaPad Model Y510P, quite old, maybe 8-9 years old. The battery became bad very soon after it was bought (maybe after 2 years), so for the last years, it has been used without a battery (so only plugged in). The problem started over a year ago. Suddenly, one day, it didn’t turn on. We thought it was dead, and used a desktop instead. But, about a week later or so, we tried to turn it on, just out of curiosity, and it booted up normally! Since it was working, we didn’t bother about researching more. After that, the same thing happened again several times, every few weeks or so. After a while, we understood that every time the laptop was unplugged, it stopped working, so during the last months we’ve tried to not unplug it. For almost a year, it was never unplugged (although it has been turned off several times). Now in summer, we travelled to another country for over a month, so we brought the laptop. After arriving, it didn’t turn on for a few days, but then functioned normally. One day, the power cable was tripped on and was thus unplugged, while the computer was on. Since then (it was several weeks ago), it hasn’t shown ANY signs of life (no lights, nothing). We don’t think the power supply is the problem, but it’s still possible. Does anyone know what the reason might be, and what to do? It’s an old laptop, so there might be no other option than to get a new one, but if anyone knows a fix, that would be great!

I scored a used Enthloo 719(luxe 2) off Facebook marketplace and other than some dust it’s basically new except the rgb strip that runs along the power supply shroud was snapped off near the end. It doesn’t seem to be repairable and I’m better off trying to either source an exact replacement which is wired together with the front panel rgb or trying to source a thin 3 pin rgb strip I can solder onto the originals connector. I’m at a dead end with finding either of those so I’d greatly appreciate any help or suggestions

Hi I’m not sure if anybody can help but I have a predator gaming laptop which has a black screen so I have been using hdmi into monitor for a while but decided to try some simple fixes. I saw a post saying to disable graphic in the control panel and now can’t see anything on monitor making the laptop useless so I was wondering if there is any way to re enable the graphics

Hey everyone! Posting here as a kind of last resort in troubleshooting, as Im all out of ideas and hoping someone here knows something I havent thought of yet! (All solutions I've currently tried are listed below. Please dont suggest doing something I've already tried lmao) Issue (TLDR): - Windows doesnt display my middle monitor in my 3 monitor setup, which also broke how my capture card displays Explanation: - On Wednesday July 12th I was streaming and gaming with friends from 7pm EST until 1am EST. Everything was working as it usually would. I turned off my computer, and went to sleep. When I went to turn my computer the next day around 5pm EST, something was off... Usually windows starts up on my middle display, I log on, and all 3 monitors turn on when windows loads, but Thursday it started up on my leftmost monitor. Halfway through logging in my screens went black, the login came back on my rightmost screen, and the 2 other displays showed the "Display port no signal" visual, then turned off. - Windows showed my right monitor as active in the "System > Display" settings, and monitors 2 & 3 as not being active. Going into my NVIDIA control panel, I was able to turn the left monitor back on, and Windows recognizes it (so now I have an active left and right monitor, but an inactive center monitor). However, when I tried turning on the middle monitor in said control panel, it freezes my computer and requires me to turn it off then back on again to get back into Windows. There's been so many random issues along the way too, such as missing drivers in my Device Manager & my boot devices not being recognized & windows randomly thinking its not been activated. I've tried swapping out the Motherboard, GPU, SSD boot drive, and slot the boot drive's installed in, driver install, and more, and nothing has worked. Even fresh installing windows with new hardware hasnt solved the issue. - So now I've bought a Motherboard and GPU I dont need, have wiped my OS, and spent hours manually installing drivers to no avail. I can clarify anything and provide pictures/images via Discord if needed Im so confused as to why one day it's working, then less than 24 hours later with no updates or offline updates or changes, this randomly bugs out and I cant find a solution Currently Attempted Troubleshooting Steps: Switching the order of ports the cables are connected to on the GPU Reseating all hardware Hardware-level GPU swap with identical model GPU Hardware-level Motherboard swap with identical model Motherboard Hardware-level SSD swap with identical model SSD Hardware-level Display Port Cable swap with identical cable Updating Windows Updating Motherboard BIOS Updating NVIDIA drivers from GeForce experience Updating NVIDIA drivers manually Updating missing PCI drivers, Intel Chipset drivers, Intel GPIO Host Controller drivers, and more manually Wiping and fresh installing Windows Clearing my CMOS battery & more If you know anything else I can try that may help, or something I can explain better, please let me know and I will be of as much help as I can!

I have not got much money but I'm really into computers and gaming, and I finally got my setup working, (which is an HP Compaq 6005 from 2011?) And I have been using an amd Radeon HD r5 230 (1gd ddr3) from 2013 I think, for about 3 years, and through HDMI, it only shows on greyscale, (see photos). Can it be fixed? (Also I am using an athlon 2 from 2009, 7gb ddr3 ram) It's also all I can afford. So I can't buy a new pc.
