Hello everyone. 2 years ago, thanks to this video "How to build a PC, the last guide you'll ever need!" it inspired me to build my first computer(gamer) all by myself. Was an awesome experience and this video was just brilliant. Everything went smooth and the PC was working fine until I decided to update the BIOS. (GCC stopped recognising all my components although everything was working fine except all RGB light being off. And stupid me thought it could be because I had a bios version with over 2 years) So, I went to the gigabyte website and downloaded the latest available bios version, F22b, I unzipped and transferred to a usb flash drive. I turned off and, on the PC, so I could enter the bios, and went to the q-flash option to install the new version. Selected the the bios update file and pressed enter. The PC started doing the update from F7a (November 2022) -> F22b(Feb 2024) (I read a lot now and I shouldn’t have done this) The PC did some reboots and went back to the bios automatically displaying it was doing the update and finally displayed updated succeeded and needed to reboot. It rebooted automatically but it never came back to life again (All RGB lights where working now), I left it for +-15min and it did not boot. I noticed that the DRAM light was on. I Started to panic and wanted to rollback the BIOS version immediately, But the gigabyte website the oldest version was F7 (March 2023). Well without any other option I download that version, transferred to my USB drive, and renamed it GIGABYTE.BIN and used the board Q-flash option. I was relived because it looked like it was working the light was blinking and it took about 5-7m until the light stopped, but even after the light stopping all my fans where still working and DRAM light was on. I waited another 15min just in case before switching the power supply off (long press on the power button wasn't working, the board switched from DRAM to CPU light and as soon I release the power button, it goes back to DRAM) After turning it back on, I was able to enter the bios and the version was F7, So I guess the "rollback" worked. I proceeded to try to boot my windows but almost immediately got a blue screen. I did some more attempts and even after opening the windows recovering option to boot in safe mode, I got blue screen (always with different blue screen errors, MEMORY MANAGMENT | IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL | KMOD EXCEPTION | list goes on) From this moment one I did lots of things. Install other BIOS versions, cleared CMOS, attempt to boot with only 1 RAM (almost worked, it manages to boot windows and I could login, was happy for 60s until blue screen and DRAM light on the motherboard) Used memtest86 with both rams and with each individually and in different slots , always got to many errors and memtest86 could not finish. I do not have XMP/EXPO enabled or any other overclock settings (never had) I always used the defaults. I don't have any other spare component’s (only have this PC). Is it possible the BIOS update fried my RAM? Or could it be that the Board is having some issue, and I should just buy a new board? My full Specs: Motherboard: ATX Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite AX RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-5600MHz CL36 CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 6800 XT SE 16GB GDDR6 OC PSU: Fractal Design Ion+ 2 860W Platinum Sorry for the long post, But I don't know what else I can do, any idea what component could be at fault? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

okay, i have search everywhere for an anwser and didnt find anything. i had a pc with a Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING, i5-8600K, 1060 and 16G of ram in slot 2 and 4. i decided to upgrade since i couldnt run the new ARK ASA. i bought 3 things to upgrade but it came in 2 batch. i ordered a 4070 OC Ventus 3x and 32G of ram G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB), that came in first so installed it, i read that mixing different ram could cause issue so i just replaced the old ones with the new ones in the same slot. everything was working, it booted no problem. i ordered a new CPU i9-9900KF, when it came and i installed it nothing was booting, after researching i found out that i needed to uptade my BIOS to support the new CPU gen. i did it by replacing my new CPU wiht my old one and did the update, everything worked flawlessly. i went to reinstall my new CPU but when i started my pc it didnt boot, i check the led to see what the problem was, and the ram led was lighing up, so i thought i had maybe touch the ram by accident so i reinstalled it, still not working, so i decided to test every slot, this is what i discovered: Slot 1 and 2: everything works and it boots Slot 1 and 3: keeps rebooting Slot 2 and 4: keeps rebooting Slot 3 and 4: keeps rebooting only slot 1 or slot 2: everything works and boot only slot 3 or 4: doest turn on with the ram led on So i after searching i decided to say fuckoff and letting them in slot 1 and 2 since it worked fine, but i decided to do i benchmark and everything was working outstanding at a 90th percentile and more, except my ram whos at 13th percentile, i watched the video to fixed that saying to activate XMP profile, which i did, but still the benchmark says its not working as it should, so i thinks its because of the slots that im on because in my motherboard manual it recommend slot 2 and 4 for 2 stick of ram. so please help me im at a complete loss :(

Hello, I have a question about a bios update that needs to be done. So I am soon going to build my own pc and I went onto pcpartpicker and noticed that my mobo needs a bios update cause my cpu is unsupported, and I wonderd if I can do a bios update with an unsupported cpu that has a motherboard without BIOS flashback. In this case I have a 5700x on a gigabyte b550 motherboard.

new cpu x370 upgrade to R 5000 ("preparing automatic repair")
Jack0 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, I've been using a Ryzen 5 2400G since it's release (without a GPU) and decided to upgrade to the newer R7 5700G APU. I have a X370 AM4 MOBO (GA-AX370-Gaming K5 (rev. 1.x)) and I read it on the manufacturer's page that with the correct BIOS update (F51g or later) it should be possible to run the new CPU So I proceeded with the BIOS updates in the following order (F2 - F31 (+EC FW update) - F40 - F51h) After that the PC booted into Windows10 effortlessly with the old CPU. Then I changed the processor to the new R7 5700G and started the boot sequence. The screen and peripherals lit up and in the bootloader menu I checked the BIOS version (it was F51h) and disabled any overclocking (although I haven't used any previously) x370 ryzen 5000 requirements But instead of starting windows, an "Preparing Automatic Repair" message was displayed on my screen. After that the screen went black and power was cut from the keyboard, mouse and monitor but the PC was still running and didn't even respond to the power button, so I flicked the switch on the PSU. I repeated this several times with no change. I even tried booting into a copy of windows on a USB but received the same result. It didn't go to the blue screen. Then I switched back the old CPU and the PC worked perfectly like before. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Do you have any suggestions?- 3 replies

I want to update my BIOS to the latest version (L2.62). I'm currently running the 2.40 version. The reason I'm asking is my CPU wasn't compatible with my motherboard out of the box. They added support for the 5000 G-series in a 1.60 update. So to out of the box I had to update the BIOS using a Ryzen chip with a different architecture. However that chip is no longer available to me. My question might be stupid, but I really rather not brick my BIOS. The manufacturer's website warning spooked me: "*To support Ryzen 5000 series processors, it requires to update the BIOS with Matisse, Renoir or Vermeer CPU.". https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550M-HDV/index.asp#BIOS So, now that my MOBO is running a version that's compatible with my Ryzen 5 5600G is it safe to update my BIOS with it? Thanks

I have been experiencing random crashes for a few months now. Its super annoying to troubleshoot, because it can take multiple days between each crash. The whole pc shuts down and reboots itself again. It can happen when doing literally anything. in a game, just surfing the web, anything. Issues has occurred on windows 10 and 11. I tried a new PSU but that didn't fix it. I have tried running these stress tests: OCCT, MemTest64, CrystalDiskMark, Cinebench, among a few 3Dmark tests. None of these tests made a crash happen. The crashes feel really random. The crashes started happening, after updating my BIOS. I have since then tried every version of BIOS, in which it has crashed in each. I used the Asus AI Suite to update and downgrade BIOS. I am now on the latest version. Its just super annoying that it takes so long between crashes. Makes it annoying to troubleshoot. My next troubleshooting steps are: CMOS clear, remove 1 ram stick. I would like other suggestions, and hopefully we can figure this out together. Hey everyone, recently i bought new pc and the motherboard that i choose is Asus TUF x470-plus gaming and i wanted to update the bios to the latest version because the version that's on is the old bios from 2 years ago. When i tried to update the bios to the latest version directly from the bios menu with the Ez Flash 3 tool i choose the USB, chose the bios file and it asked me if i want to read the file i clicked yes when i did that the mouse was frozen for couple seconds and after that i got the message that "Selected file is not a proper BIOS". I tried with two different usb drives and both were formatted to FAT32, i also tried to download the bios directly from the asus servers. After you choose the Ez Flash it asked me if i want from local drive or internet and the third time (after the two usb attempts failed) i choose internet and i got the same error message "Selected file is not a proper BIOS". I also tried to rename the bios file with the provided renaming tool and still the same result. Does someone has any idea how this can be fixed? 20210311_173607_1_1.mp4

I have a Gigabyte AB350M HD3 and I haven't updated my bios in like four years because I didn't find any reason to but my CPU started underclocking out of nowhere (Ryzen 5 1600) so I thought maybe it's a system instability issue and I wanted to update then so I update to F20 from F10 and I couldn't start my PC for a long time so I removed the CMOS and replaced it with a new one it solved getting past the bios screen but then I couldn't get into windows so I wanted to install a fresh copy of windows out of a flash drive but the pc is stuck in some kind of a booting loop whenever the installation starts and the windows logo pops out, the pc restarts on its own and I don't know what's the problem if somebody can help me I would very grateful thank you.

Cyberpower Gigabyte B550 UD AC bios update
T4HM WAR posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
There is a bios update but its hidden on Cyberpowers website. go to this link : https://support.cyberpowerpc.com/hc/en-us Click on drivers and software. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. Click Cyber power Motherboards. Click bios Click Gigabyte Click the highlighted file and preform bios update. Check back regularly. Spread the word. It's not impossible to update and this bios update should encompass everything that gigabyte has released on all other b550 modules. 608770823_MB-478-120B550UDACY1.zip- 3 replies

Hi all! I have a little bit of a weird issue with my system after updating to the latest BIOS. Before I begin, here is my complete setup from my PC Parts Picker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/liberty610/builds/#view=BqHhP6 Ok, so my motherboard is the Gigabyte Aorus X570 Xtreme motherboard. I bought it shortly after it was released, and had only updated the BIOS one time. I was previously on version F30. I made the jump to Windows 11 and after doing some reading about Ryzen improvements, I also updated my BIOS to the latest version; F35d. After updating the BIOS, I unplugged the system, tapped the power button a couple times to drain all remaining power, and then hit the 'Clear Cmos" button. It's loaded up with "optimized defaults" and the only changes I made in the bios where I turned on XMP profile for my ram and I turned off the boards LED lights. So everything else is the "optimized" default settings. Everything is working great overall, but here is a couple odd issues that never occurred until this latest BIOS version. Anytime I am in Windows and I click "Restart", it does restart, but for some reason, instead of the power staying on and doing it a 'soft reboot' if you will, it does a hard reboot where the board cuts all power for a moment (as if the power was cut from the outlet), and then shortly after it turns back on and boots. Normally, under any of the older BIOS versions it just remains fully powered on and restarts/boots. But this is a full power off state. All my fans and LEDs turn off and then everything comes back on. Then other issue is, if I am in Windows and choose 'Shutdown', it shuts down like normal, but the next time I hit the power button to power it back on, the lights and fans come on for a second, then it turns itself completely off again for a brief moment, and then it turns back on again and boots. This isn't normal behavior is it? I was not having either of these issues until I updated to the last F35d BIOS version. Anyone else having these happen? Any ideas? Thanks for any replies/input!

So I am trying to update my BIOS of my AsRock B450M Pro4 from P1.6 to 2.0 (then so on so I can use my new 5600X) and when I go try to install the BIOS update, the update file is there for a second, and then is immediately replaced by a yes.jpg. When I go back to Windows, it's obviously didn't change the file at all, so I'm confused. Has anyone seen this? This is weird! There's nothing online I can find about this.

Hey, I'm about to put my system together and remembered I have to update my bios. The mobo box has 5000x ready on it (b550-e) so I assume ill be able to boot with the system put together but I was wondering if its better to install the new bios with the cpu etc installed or without? I remember hearing about Jayztwocents having some problems with asus bios flashback and having multiple boards that failed to update resulting in them being bricked. Any clue as to how I should go about this? Thanks for the help in advance, Lex.
