Okay so my setup is a msi 3060 12gb gpu with an amd ryzen 5 7600x and 32gb 6000mhz ram (corsair) I'm using a 750watt psu and I have 4 fans (+fan for processor) First boot i did and it didnt boot (i get 1 long 2 short beeps) so I remove my ram and start troubleshooting 1 by 1. Turns out both my ram is just fine and the slots is fine (if I put in A1 or B1 i get the same beep come but in A2 B2 it works fine). I can boot my pc and get video signal if I have only 1 ram in one of the slots A2/B2. However when I insert both my ram in A2 and B2 i get a new beep code (1 long 3 short) and that means video card problems. Things I've tried (troubleshooting ram and they are fine and the slots are working. I tried using the gpu in PCIe slot 2 and 3 and that still doesn't work. What could be the problem? Is my mobo damaged or my gpu? Remember i do get video signal when only using 1 ram stick

Hi, I bought a MacBook Pro 17” 2011 (A1297) labeled as “not turning on” because of the cheap price. I thought of maybe a broken trace on the mainboard or smth like that but when I turned on the MacBook it beeped 3 times on me. Not what I expected. I searched that up on the Internet, but I can only find people saying 3 beeps with a 5 sec pause in between is a RAM failure. But for me it is 3 beeps and a 3 second pause, I even confirmed that with a stopwatch. Does a 3 second pause mean the same as a 5 sec pause? If it does, then it is a RAM issue. But how could I fix that? I tried both slots 1 module at a time with both modules and I even did the same with a known working RAM module. I cleaned the slots and the RAM with Isopropyl, nothing yet worked. There are also many videos out there talking about how loose the pins of the RAM slots are, but these things are tiny and I have no microscope. Because I also can’t see any visible damage in that area I now wonder if it even is a RAM failure, which leads me to this post. I’m thankful for any help. EDIT: Whoops, I posted in wrong forum, meant to post in Troubleshooting, can anybody move me?

I thought a fun Christmas project would be the resurrection of the the old family computer, a ‘Gateway Performance AS 650 tb3’ desktop. To give some back story, about a year ago I dusted off the internal components, when I put the computer back together it booted fine but crashed a few seconds latter. Now all I get when I turn it on are beeps codes. The code specifically states that ‘the video card is faulty or not installed, or an external ROM module does not properly checksum to zero’. So I have a few questions: 1) Given the age of this machine how do I know what replacement GPU’s are compatible? 2) If it is the ROM module that’s fizzled, how do fix that? 3) I’ve been unable to find a PDF manual for the computer anywhere on the internet, was hoping someone could help me with that? ~Thanks in advance for any help I get on this.

About 2 out of 3 times when I boot up or reboot my PC, it makes 5 short beeps from the motherboard. It always is able to boot into Windows though. While this isn't a problem now, it worries me about the future of this PC. The only other oddity is that sometimes the AsRock logo does not appear on boot, the PC skips straight to the lock screen. There is also a green light near my motherboard's rear IO that is lit as long as the PSU is on. What should I do? Should I just unplug the speaker and pretend none of this sever happend? Thanks! Hi all, I'm experiencing a strange issue. My computer has zero issues booting, running browsers, and preforming most all tasks. But once I decide to run a game, Elden ring or tarkov for example, I'm assaulted by near constant beeps from what seems to be the motherboard. I've dug around looking for beep codes it could be, but the variation is to great to line up with anything specific. I get long beeps, super long beeps, sometimes super short beeps, everything in between. My CPU does seem to be running a bit hot, 60-80 degrees Celsius, but it has never shut down due to overheating. I re did heat sync and thermal paste months ago and the problem persisted. Open to literally any suggestions, the games run fine, the computer boots, but its ridiculously annoying and must mean something. Specs: Mobo: Aorus B550 Pro AC GPU: Aorus 6800xt Master CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x PSU: Corsair RM850x RAM: Corsiar Vengenace pro 3200MHZ SSD: Western Digital 1TB M.2 Hello all, My PC has been having some issues recently, I will start from the beginning. My games where stuttering and all my gpus I bought got RMA'd as faulty, which when tested they were, I then decided to send my Mobo back as well and it got tested as faulty with a faulty power chip and got repaired. After I got the PC back, it was on for 8 hours and then went into sleep mode I think. I tried to turn it back on but the system would not post and make any beep codes, I decided to flash the bios to the latest one and then it started giving me what I initially thought was a GPU error from the 1 long and 3 short beeps so I RMA'd it back to gigabyte and they requested the board and the GPU, when they tested it, it worked fine which is weird as if it was GPU it would of been faulty. I got the board back and gigabyte sent over their beep codes, which have changed recently to AMI, so 1 long and 3 short is "Conventional/Extended Memory Failure" which is RAM. I asked a friend to bring round a RAM stick (Known Working, Personal Stick) and he also brought a PSU round to test that, even with the RAM and PSU plugged in I still got the same beep code, the fans spin, LED's work and that's it. I am stating to think it is my CPU but wanted to be sure as if it isn;t faulty it will be pricy to get it returned to me. I know for sure it is not the Motherboard, GPU, RAM and maybe PSU (It was a unused PSU from his old rig that did work before), could it be the CPU causing these RAM beep codes? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, Right off the bat, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to things like this so it is very well possible I'm overlooking something very simple. I recently installed a new GPU in my system, upgrading from a 1070ti to a 3060ti. However, every time I boot the PC now, the motherboard will give me 4 short beeps first before launching properly anyway. I have a AMI BIOS in which case the 4 beeps would indicate a failure with the system timer. Everything is working correctly as far as I can tell. It also seemed to me that the RAM is seated properly as well as the GPU. Made sure the power connector to the GPU was inserted properly on both ends. For now everything is fine because everything works but I'm still a bit worried about the beep codes and I am not sure what to do about it apart from trying to update the BIOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My specs: Motherboard: Aorus B360M Gaming 3 CPU: Intel i5-8500 GPU: Inno3d RTX 3060ti x2 OC RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400mhz PSU: Seasonic M12 II Evo

Hi Everyone, I just upgraded my PC, new MB (X670E TUF PLUS), CPU (7600X) and RAM (Dominator Platinum 6000 EXPO II). After that I tweaked the CPUs PBO Settings and tested it for Stability. Everything seems to work and Performance is in line with the hardware. The only "Problem" is that the MB starts to beep 1x every ~11s after being ~30s in Windows. AMI BIOS code says it should be DRAM refresh failure but I don't thinks thats the problem here since PC works normal. I already ran Memtest with 2048MB till 100% with 0 Errors. Maybe someone knows how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

hello, just looking for some second opinions on an issue I've been choosing to ignore. I've had issues getting my ram to run stable at 3000 mhz in the past, it's stable now, and has been for a long time. i had to bump the voltage up to 1.395, not a crazy number. i have prime 95 tested it multiple times for hours to be sure that there isn't an issue, as i keep getting the 4 beep code at startup. when it has the beep code, it will run fine, but it does take a few extra seconds to post when this occurs. i have flashed the bios, as the notes mentioned it has improved ram stability, but that was months ago, and it still beeps. it isn't every startup, I'd say it does it 3-4 times a week. i know this error can be other things other than ram oc issues, but since it runs fine, i have ignored the beeps. the beeps are now starting to happen more often, so i am starting to pay attention again. my question's are, is this an issue i can continue ignoring? or is there something i should be investigating? and could my ram be on it's way out, even though it passes all stress tests? also worth noting, I'm replacing the cpu and mobo soon, so if ram has to be included, i wouldn't mine the excuse lol. thanks for any input. specs: 6600k h60 cooler rog strix gtx 1070 asrock z270 extreme4 corsair vengeance lpx 3000mhz evga bronze 80+ 500w 1tb 7200rpm 240gb ssd sata 970 evo plus 500gb m.2

lately, ive experienced stutters/black screen while in csgo by alot on a single match, rebooting the system doesnt solve the problem and,i quit the match because its unplyable. and im still experiencing minor stutters even on desktop web browsing, and sometime chrome stops responding after half an hour, entire system froze, rebooting gave me beep code which is continusly long beep now i did a research that i may have a ram problem, but i cant confirm it because i dont know which BIOS im currently using on h61 mxv MOBO by foxxcon

so,recently im suffering from black screen and a lot of stutters while in csgo continuously,i did reboot the entire system multiple times but doesnt solve the problem i suspect gpu driver crashed, but it didnt after that,i pretty much abandoned the match because i cant handle it.ive even experienced stutters and program freezes even while im web browsing to find the solution to fix my problem after half an hour,my entire system froze and i got the beep code after reboot (continuously long beep) from what i know based off google,it was memory problem but i cant confirm it because i dont know which BIOS i have and i did reseating the ram slot and changing to 2nd DIMM slot TL:DR - continuously black screen / stutters while in-game,reboot system doesnt work -minor stutters and chrome crashes while web browsing -entire system froze, rebooting gave me beep code -doesnt know which BIOS i have -reseated ram/tried the other slot i just realised,i made 2 posts which i didnt even realise my bad

Motherboard: Gigabyte z97x-gaming 5CPU: i7 4790kPSU: Corsair RM650So the other day I got a bsod, when i checked the stop code it mentioned doing a disk check. So i scheduled one for the next boot. And, uh, when I booted it up this morning it simply wouldn't turn on.The fans would spin up, then the computer would reboot. repeating over and over.So i turned off the psu, and added the speaker for beep codes. Now when it turns on it gives repeated little beeps before restartingTo clarify, there is no display or peripherals lighting up.I've tried:Disconnecting all peripherals, secondary and tertiary hard drives, removing my GPU and using the motherboard HDMI header instead, doing a cmos reset.I also removed my CPU cooler and cpu, reinserted the CPU, reappied thermal compound and the cpu cooler.Audio recording:http://vocaroo.com/i/s1hVSBFPC97h

A few weeks ago my pc crashed without any error messages. The dispaly froze and the audio glitched out and produced horrible noise. When i tried to boot the next day it wouldnt post. Something on the board makes three barely audible chirpingsounds and then i get a 5 beep error code before it just cuts power and tries to boot again. This error codemeans CPU failure as far as i know. After a day of trying different things i found out that my first memory channel just stopped accepting RAMmodules. Only if no module is in channel 1 the PC boots as normal.Since then i have both modules seated in channel 2.This isnt a huge problem most of times but sometimes the single channel setup is quite noticeable (some gamesrun much worse) and the overall performance seems slower at times.I reseated the CPU and tested the RAM modules independantly and the seem to be ok.I dont know which steps i could take next so i hope someone has an idea what i could try to fix this, thanks in advance. My setup:16GB G.Skill Value DDR4-2133 DIMM CL15 Dual Kithttps://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/16GB-G-Skill-Value-DDR4-2133-DIMM-CL15-Dual-Kit_1013784.htmlGigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P Intel Z170 So.1151 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX Retailhttps://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Gigabyte-GA-Z170-HD3P-Intel-Z170-So-1151-Dual-Channel-DDR4-ATX- Retail_1010542.htmlIntel Core i5 6600K 4x 3.50GHz So.1151 WOFhttps://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-4x-3-50GHz-So-1151-WOF_1010019.html

I just finished up building a mostly brand new computer with a 3rd gen ryzen, only the graphics card, power supply, and case are from the old computer. When I power on the computer, I just get 2 quick beeps and then nothing for a while until another 2 quick beeps. I've tried clearing the CMOS and reseating the RAM, but neither of those seem to have worked. Here's the specs for my system: Ryzen 5 3600 Gigabyte Aorus B550 Elite Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB Seagate Barracuda 510 1TB TP-Link (Archer T4E) AC1200 Seasonic X660 Gold Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 Not really sure where to go from here.

Hello everyone, This is the first time I upload a topic to a forum, ever, needless to say I'm desperate. A while ago I used to love my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 1st gen (20FQ), I used it for everything, I told all my friends and family this was THE laptop, never had an issue or problem whatsoever and when something went wrong I called support and the warranty took care of everything. After 3 years my warranty expired and wasn't able to afford the renewal, so I thought I could live without it, but man, was I wrong. Just a few weeks after my warranty expired my laptop started to turn off from nowhere while watching a Youtube video, browsing the web or more important, working on my presentations for work. I dived into forums and after a couple of weeks of the same I thought I had the solution, all I needed was a BIOS downgrade. I went to Lenovo support and downloaded the BIOS version I needed. Everything started without any problems, but being a teacher for Jr. High sometimes I deal with kids in my office. So, while the update was going on a kid arrived and wanted to talk so we did, but the problem was that my desk is really small, so I tried to make some space for her notebook and the kid accidentally unplugged the power supply before the update was finish. I tried not to make a big deal of it and told her there was no problem, but after grading her ex-temporary homework I tried to turn on my computer and well, nothing happen. Since that moment I've trying to fix it, but all I get is a Black screen and 5 short beeps followed by another 5 short beeps and then nothing. I'm desperate, I have this old Lenovo Thinkpad x201 Tablet since I was in college and has been working on it but is not as good as I need. Before the Covid-19 pandemic I was able to do my presentations at home with my old laptop, but now I have to teach online and it doesn't have a web camera, nor mic, and the wifi adapter is failing and gets really hot and loud and... Ok I think you can guess all the problems an old laptop has. I mean, I spent a lot of money on the Yoga and wanted for it to last a long time but didn't. I know the situation is really bad all over the world but I'm afraid I can lose my job if I'm not able to keep pace of online work with the piece of junk I use a work station. I already tried unplugging the BIOS battery chord from the motherboard hitting the reset button for 10 secs or 20, or you name it, and nothing happens. I have tried a lot of tricks but non of them are really useful, so please, HELP ME! Thank you all, Best regards J P.S. I hope my English is ok, is not my first language

Every time I restart my computer from windows, as soon as the screen goes black, instead of restarting like normal the computer beeps in constant second long beeps. I have a supermicro board and I tried to count how many beeps it was to troubleshoot (AMI bios beep codes go by number of beeps) but they don't stop. It does not do it every single time I restart and does not do it when shutting down and fresh booting (not yet at least). I googled this and cannot get any answers and I need some help. plz

Hey guys, recently played a few League of Legends games. All of a sudden my 2 screens go blue ish, cant really describe the color. The PC was still running and all of a sudden started making beep sounds, probably like 5-10 in a row, no pattern or pauses or sth. After about 10s the game was back up and running. While that lost me the matchup, im more worried bout the pc haha. Since Ive never had this happen (compared to ALOT of "usual" BSOD bs like memory management -> thanks win10) what was that? I mean the pc just returned to flawless 144hz gaming after that? doesnt make any sense to me and I couldnt find anything on the web. The beeping sound came from the speakers, not the motherboard! Any ideas where to start troubleshooting? Id be super thankful. (r5 3600, 8gb single channel (waiting for black friday), gtx 1070, b450m gaming plus by MSI, quad case cooling set up, processor cooler is still stock (waiting for noctua deal)) (everything up to date, fresh win10 install, had lol, its launcher and chrome running) thanks in advance and greetings! Chris

Hello, I have a Dell Latitude 3440 laptop that beeps when trying to boot up in that really obnoxious beeping it makes when there is a system error. It doesn't do it every time, and the beep code isn't consistent either. Sometimes it beeps 2 times apparently meaning a memory error, or sometimes 5 times, meaning a real time clock failure. I have reset the cmos battery, and tried different memory, neither fixed the problem. Sometimes it doesn't beep at all for a day or two then starts without touching anything. Dell has come to replace the RAM, and then the whole motherboard with no luck from either. Any ideas at what could be causing the problem? or a way to fix it? Thanks

Hey guys! Never posted here before, but I trust this group and I had an interesting question that came to my mind after seeing a build, so I wanted to reach out to you all. A user on a social site I use posted photos of his LoZ build, and someone posed a question asking if it played the "Item Grab" sound *You got a THING!!* when it powered up. Now, I know you can change the sounds once the computer has booted, but it got me to thinking: there are programs that exist which allow you to play midi files through your internal speaker. Is there currently a way to adjust, either by a program, or by a third party device, that you could have your computer play a short sound clip on post? Thanks for your help! Here's the person's build: http://imgur.com/gallery/mfuy5 Sound that I was thinking would fit his build:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBtsMTnstZM
