Hi Everyone, I work for a small bank and we use Matica S3200HD card printers to instant issue our credit and debit cards in branch. We have been getting a large amount of card jams in the turn-over unit in almost all of our printers at least a few times a week. It will usually jam with the turn-over flipped 180 degrees pointing to the left, and on rare occasion it will jam vertically near the mag encoder. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any ideas on how to avoid this in the future. We do a full clean weekly, running sticky cards, cleaning the dust traps, and feed rollers with water. Thanks in advance for any insight you may have on an issue I'm sure very few people will have.

Razer has introduced their Power Bank, with a rating of 12,800mah. The power bank can provide up to a additional 6 hours of battery life to their Blade Stealth. It can also charge 3 different device at the same time, since it has both type A and type C USB ports. Charging the power bank takes about 2 hours and it needs a USB type c power adapter, where Razer sell for $50 bucks. Cost of the power bank will set you back at $149.99 / €169.99 / £144.99, making it a extremely expensive power bank. Too bad it does not have RGB, if it does, then it would then be worth that price. Now one might say, RGB will drain power bank battery, why add RGB, it's stupid. A quick solution would be to have RGB run off the your laptop battery. Power bank charges laptop battery. Laptop battery, then provides power to the RGB lighting on the Razer power bank! YAY! So I got about $80 to spend on a nice power bank. I would like one with lots of features. But, finding one on Amazon that has the features I need are hard to come across. I would like the following features: At least 10,000 mAh or more Flashlight Cable inside of it (it always stays with it. It will need to be micro usb or adaptable) As for appearance, as long as its not a neon color, i'm okay with any color in particular.

Hello all of LTT Forums! I'm looking for a good powerbank that has an AC Outlet (I'm in the UK btw) Doesn't have to be a massive capacity, but the only ones i've seen are £100-200 when you can get one for cars that's like £50. I just want a regular looking portable powerbank with a UK AC outlet, none of that adaptor crap (the US to UK adaptors like to blow up) needs to be able to output for a device charger that's input is 110-240v @ 2.something amps. at a reasonable price. Hope someone can help, and if this is in the wrong section (the only "looking for" group is in video games) then please move it mods Norman

source: http://www.androidauthority.com/plastc-smart-credit-card-765889/ back in 2014, a brand new company had the brilliant idea to produce a card that will "house" up to 20 cards (debit or credit) on a single secure card pre-orders lined up, over 80000 of them, 155$ a pop delivery date (summer 2015) went by like nothing happened .... and here comes 2017: ouch! --- similar ideas: COIN - launched 2013; shipped products in 2015; 2016 quired by FitBit, no longer shipping SWYP - launched 2015; shipped products in summer 2016; as of late 2016 they were working on a new model with EMV technology STRATOS - launched May 2015; dead December 2015

I was planning on making a large battery bank from 20 18650 batteries, and since that might take a while, I was wondering if I would be able to attatch multiple charging inputs for faster charging times. Or is there a limited input speed. Please tell me if there is a better way to do this than shown in the diagram Thanks.

I looking for 18650 batteries for battery banks. I wanted to make some some of the portable chargers, and I was wondering where the best place to get them is for the most reasonable price.

I recently purchased a Razer Stealth with a 4k display and a 512GB M.2 drive. The battery life is horrific. It only runs 3-4 hours on one charge, even if I turn off the Chroma, dim the display and change my resolution from 4k to 1080p. Otherwise, the ultrabook is awesome. If I can alleviate the power shortage I will keep the laptop indefinitely. I am looking for a quick-charging power bank similar to, if not better than the Razer Power Bank. Would you purchase the Cygnett power bank listed over the Razer Power Bank? Are there alternatives that you could recommend? What are all of my options, regardless of price, for a really good power bank? I am looking for substitutes, cheaper or more expensive, so long as they are functionally equivalent to, or better than the Razer Power Bank. For the record, the charger included with the Razer Stealth outputs 45W; 20V at 2.25 amps, and I am using this as a standard when searching for a power bank. https://www.cygnett.com/collections/power-banks/products/20-000mah-usb-c-power-bank-in-black https://www.razerzone.com/gaming-accessories/razer-power-bank

Original source from KitGuru. UK-based bank NatWest is trialling new debit cards with built in fingerprint readers, in order to improve payment security. Currently, in the UK, NFC payments can be made with your card under the contactless scheme for payments up to £30, without the need for any further authentication. Adding the fingerprint sensor to the card will allow users to remove that cap, effectively replacing the current chip-and-pin system. NFC payments made using Apple or Google pay are already unrestricted in many major stores. The technology has been developed by Gemalto, and is explained in their video here: All fingerprint data is stored locally on the card and is not transferred to the bank's servers. Hopefully this will improve the security of contactless payments, and I think it could be a step in pushing reluctant adopters to use it more often.

Hi Everyone, I have a question about power in general and I thought this power supplies section might be able to assist. I have a Cheero Energy Plus 12000 mAh battery pack that's capable of input DC 5V/1.6A. I'm looking at this wall charger: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07JLV4SW5/?coliid=I2LW9LTZIP7AVJ&colid=37V3ATZ8FPRCC&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it it shows it can charge via USB with 2A, and has a smart charge port (no idea) at 2.4A. Will this work with my battery bank then or will my battery bank simply blow the fuse? Thanks!

Hi all, I just purchased a rapoo power bank with no buttons, whenever I connect a phone to it, it doesn't start charging until I unplug the phone, plug in a small cell vape then connect the phone. I am curious if the power bank is defective, I drained it and charged it to full and used other cables and nothing works. Any advice? Thanks

Story Time: I purchased a specific laptop from Best Buy. It was supposed to be in excellent condition. The bottom panel came damaged. I purchased a new one, thinking no matter. Fast forward a few weeks of use, I notice from looking at other laptops that the display quality is quite poor. I go in my hardware settings to tune the colors, and find out the screen I was given was not the one listed in the Best Buy listing, and Best Buy will not work with me on resolving this. I have photo evidence of speaking with an employee and asking about the specific screen before purchasing. I am now no longer able to return the laptop nor get the screen I was promised put in by a Dell employee, as it is past their 30 day warranty. I open a Paypal dispute for a partial refund. I did not realize that closing a dispute to edit it does not work, that the case is considered "resolved" and closed, after speaking to a couple of supervisors with my concern. Fast forward, I proceed to open a dispute with my bank. It is rejected because the dispute is "authorized". I file a claim with the BBB after multiple claim rejections and incorrect filings, after submitting all the photo evidence I had and entire story, telling me the transaction was "authorized". After the BBB complaint, someone calls me from my bank. She gives me her number and name. I call her back, she submits my complaint as being a "Promotional Balance" and some funds were returned to my bank account. She told me she worked with some of her coworkers to have the complaint be put through as an "unauthorized complaint" because it was a special case of me not receiving the product I purchased. Here's where things get weird: I go in my Paypal today, and Best Buy has been notified to their PayPal email and will be given a chance to respond to the claim. Paypal has opened up a transaction dispute for the case and limited my account. Now I am afraid Best Buy is just going to prove that the purchase was in fact authorized. I thought my bank's decision put legal precedence/authority over Paypal, so why is a dispute now opened up automatically in Paypal maked as an "unauthorized transaction" and why is Best Buy being given a chance to respond? How should I proceed? Should I call the woman from my bank? Should I wait things out? I have had poor experience with Paypal customer service in the past, and assume they're going to twist or get confused by my words and just go "Oh, the transaction was authorized? Ok we'll resolve this in due time, thank you" and a day later, the case will be closed.

Source: https://www.cnet.com/news/commonwealth-bank-of-australia-financial-data-breach-20-million-accounts/ The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has lost the records of over 20 million accounts, over 12 millions customers, when a subcontractor lost two magnetic data storage tapes containing the records in 2016. Now by lost they don't necessarily mean THEY don't still have all this information, but that others may now be in possession of said information. I didn't think anyone even still used magnetic tape. If they were meant to be destroyed anyway why weren't they scrubbed before moving? It takes 2 seconds. One magnet... all it takes. Even other archival media, other institutions, other data types, more care should be taken to secure or destroy the data before any attempt to move it or access for third parties is allowed. I'm not sure I like an institution like this not making such a breach known much sooner. I'm not sure if its a government institution, or a private one under charter, or what. Depending on their operations is that enough data to compromise accounts? Allow for identity theft? All data security starts as physical security. How many other institutions may operate similarly? May allow deprecated technology to be handled in a less secure manner than is prudent? We can take some solace in knowing most people wouldn't even know what these tapes were or how they could be accessed. But security by obscurity is no real security.

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/a-loud-sound-just-shut-down-a-banks-data-center-for-10-hours So do not scream at your hard drive, it will hate you and make you suffer :)) Personally i am an ING client and Saturday i got an email about the failure of the banking service from ING and i know a lot of co-workers who were unable to use their cards or online banking services. BUT what i find even more interesting is that on Saturday evening at about 8PM i used my debit card to pay in a supermarket. But i did not insert the card in the POS, as you usually do around here. I used the card's VISA PayWave functionality and it worked just ok. What even more funny is that i checked online the history of my transactions and that one did not registered . Anyway it was a small amount, about 2 euros, but i find it quite funny P.S. Also watch the video in the article. The guy is really funny as he screams his lungs out at those poor hard drives

So, I'm looking to buy a slim power bank with a reasonable capacity for the size that would be able to comfortably fit in a pants pocket along with a wallet. In this case I'm talking about something around as thin or thinner than a smartphone. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to which what products work best and which ones to avoid? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm looking to purchase a portable battery bank for my phone. I'm mainly looking at the Anker brand but open to others such as Mophie. I've watched Linus's Are all battery banks built the same? - Head to head ~5000 mAh Showdown!

My school district has decided to lend select tech students laptops to use throughout the next school year, I was one of the chosen students. The problem is the district is not giving out any information about what laptop they will be lending the students, so I don't know if the battery capacity will be enough for my 3 hour programming course and notes for the remaining 4 hours. So I've decided to play it safe and pick up a battery bank with an AC outlet, problem is they're all $100+... I'm already spending a decent amount on a backpack to protect the laptop since students have to pay for any damages (even though it's probably gonna be a $200 POS that would be cheaper to replace than to repair). If there are any ~10k mAh AC output battery banks <$60 I would love to hear it.

I am going on a school trip to Quebec soon, and I am in need of a new battery bank to charge my Galaxy S6. I already have one, albeit it charges rather slowly, and for my trip I need one that will be able to keep my phone charged whenever I need it to be. I am looking for one that has 3-5 charges on a single charge, and that can charge my phone as fast as a fast charge wall charger would. I am currently looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Charger-16000mAh-Qualcomm-Samsung/dp/B018I5H9BQ/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_10?ie=UTF8&refRID=DK5NXFVXQNMCTB19TP4N I'd like to know if there are any other good ones that meet my needs mentioned above, all help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

I think the idea is hilarious, and some people might even try it, but I obviously don't think it will catch on. What do you guys think? Source: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-36301778

So I got thinking, thermal paste is pretty good at conducting heat.... soooo.... What if... stay with me... You took a computer, fully functional with a graphics card and cpu, took off the coolers for both of them, and just filled the case to the brim with thermal paste. I Know, I know, coolers depend on surface area with a great many number of fins to dissipate the heat, but I think with that much thermal paste, a filled case would at least compete surface area wise with it depending on the case. Just thought this would be a great crazy idea that id love to see the channel do or at least would love to have a conversation about just to emphasize how silly an idea it would be outside of the obvious unwieldiness. EDIT: So just for lols lets do the pricing maths https://www.amazon.ca/Thermal-Performance-Compound-Interface-Material/dp/B0045JCFLY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462771897&sr=8-1&keywords=mx-4 That with a thickness of 2.5 gm per cm3 its 1.6 cm3 of thermal paste per tube. A define r5 is 22x46x53cm meaning its 56000cm3 so it would take 35046 packages of thermal paste at 11 Canadian rupees a pop to fill this case. AKA 386000 Canadian rubles At least the shipping is free though. EDIT:2. Perhaps a more level headed idea would be making a cooler out of thermal paste in a specifically shaped 3d printed shroud. Even then though, thermal paste as ti turns out is prohibitively expensive so this idea is even more impractical and illogical than I first thought.
