Hello everyone, This is a tutorial on how to get colors right on Dell XPS series from this year, might apply to older models with Intel Command Center.. Windows 20H2 and Dell Premier Color don't work well together. Intel GPU driver and Dell's proprietary fight eachother. Some people say it's the Dell Premier Color bugging out the Intel software, some the other way around.. This has been a know bug for years, usually getting better or worse depending on what Windows version you're running (and drivers), but it seems like it's been really bad in the past couple months, since many people have been posting on forums, struggling to get rid of just the most rubbish banding you've ever seen, worse on the eyes than cheap IPS panel backlight bleed. Possible solutions, that don't work in most cases: 1. Close Dell Premier Color Result: no improvement 2. Close Dell Premier Color, then open Intel Command Center < Display < Color < Restore to original Color Result: In many cases, black screen that doesn't recover. It can be reenabled if you plug in an external monitor (or forcefully restart the system) and reopen DPC (dell premier colour) - but the issue persists. 3. Delete DPC, then Restore to original color Result: Black screen, need to reinstall DPC or force restart Solution that WORKED for me, after all others failed 1. Delete DPC 2. Delete Intel Command Center 3. Install DDU (display driver uninstaller), extract and open with administrator, uninstall Intel GPU driver - If you don't know how to use DDU, there are some tutorials on Youtube that will explain it better than me. But this is the options you should select. And then click "clean and restart" 4. Display driver will uninstall, the screen will go ape sh*t and all audio will die. The system will then restart. Don't let it scare you, everything is fine. 5. Once you log back in, go to windows update and check for updates. Windows will automatically download the media drivers and the display driver for you, after which you will restart the system again, if prompted. 6. Install Intel Command Center from Microsoft Store. It won't look the same as the one you had before, but that's okay, it's the same thing. Once it's installed, open it and check that all your System < Power related settings are the way you left them, with "panel self refresh" turned off and alike.. Congrats. It should be all good now. I went into VR for some HL Alyx yesterday, and I kept noticing these horizontal lines while looking at bright objects/the sky/scenes with uniformed colors (pretty much the whole game). At first I thought it was the lenses of the VR headset, but after playing I checked if my monitor had a similar, call it "effect", and surely it does. *This is not the screen door effect - I’m referring solely to the horizontal banding lines* Example 1 - Monitor (Sorry for the bad quality, hopefully you can see what I’m trying to address - look from the right of the image, where the effect is more pronounced) Example 2 - VR Headset ("They are faint lines, I pronounced the effect in the photo." Credit to Reddit User u/fujiapplelover for the photo, taken from a similar post he did) The effect is only noticable when I move my head in VR, even a very subtle movement, not while I’m completely still and focusing at a certain spot. As you can see there are vague horizontal banding lines going across the pixel arrangement of the panel. This is kind of immersion breaking while in VR, as you basically have the panel strapped to your eyeballs and not even as much as a single pixel can escape. While playing normal flat screen (2D) games you can’t really notice it unless you are as close to the monitor as seen in *Example 1* above. I might be of the picky kind, as I’m really sensitive to minor details like this, but at the same time it got me questioning if this was normal or if maybe my GPU was causing this. It is quite annoying and pulls me out of immersion more often than not tbh. I don’t see this effect on my Oculus Quest VR headset at all - hence why I got extra curious. The panel on the Quest seems more uniform and clean compared to my G2, even with less pixels. TL;DR: My G2 headset has vague horizontal lines across the whole panel, something my Quest 1 does not. Hello everyone I recently purchased a new LG 32GK650F-B 32 inch monitor and am having serious grey and black banding occur when trying to watch or play anything. Ive tried adjusting every setting on both my monitor and NVIDIA control panel but have absolutely no luck. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Pic attached for reference. Also it is plugged in with display not HDMI and my internet is hardwired and incredibly fast so I doubt its a streaming issue. All settings are set to highest quality available within the streaming apps themselves.

I know it isn't exactly photography, however, I am having trouble with my Epson 1430 Printer where it is printing with rather extreme banding. I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do to fix it. I tried both print head alignment and cleaning

Hello, first time here had some questions about my monitor I just bought and thought maybe someone here can shed some light on what I should do because I'm kina at a crossroads. Anyways, four days ago I bought the Acer XB241H as it was the only monitor I could find that had 24" g-sync with flickerfree and a shadow boost that met my 350$ limit(sale) and was in a lot of postive reviews and "top 10 or top 5" lists I came across, Upon turning on the display for first time and using it for day or two I couldn't really notice anything, but then there was steam, and other solid color websites that used somewhat dark shades that were easy on the eyes such as NV's site what it is after doing tons of research is some kind of clouding defect to my knowledge that takes up a good portion i'd say at least 50% of the middle part of the screen. In these four screenshots you can see where I highlighted it, with the most obvious annoying parts on the leftmost and rightmost part of the screen in the form of symmetrical C shapes, it should be noted that I have tried the ICC profile and any number of OSD setting changes and all it does is make it worse, my bet is that they did that on purpose so it would be the least noticeable to the general user that fire's up the monitor. So that would be the first issue. The second one is that it's suppose to be an 8-bit 24 truecolor TN panel but I'm seeing all kinds of horrid banding in movies and random images that looks more along the lines of a windows XP era old Tube-CRT monitor on 16 bit color for example stuff like the westworld or alteredcarbon intro, where there is lots of smooth graded scenes fading in and out creates circle shape banding where any kind of gradient or fade of color would be, again have tried all OSD settings and ICC profile to correct with no-avail just worse. My question is wether I should RMA it or try to get a refund since their "special predator support" they have is just a call center for your typical RMA request in witch I was not even offered a new replacement, just servicing this unit. I recently noticed my screen was banding on gradients such as in steam and recently terraria. the weird thing is this banding isn't my display. it can be seen on my stream, and in screenshots. anyone got any idea what I should do to fix this? or If I need to just get a replacement, its something I can deal with but is annoying. I have included some screenshots and pictures from my phone. I tried updating my driver and restarting my computer after, no luck. I'm running a gtx 1060 3gb and my monitor is a Samsung C27F398

This is relevant for Asus PG248Q owners too. Way smarter than my approach. This is more like general NVIDIA display/image quality improving post imo.

I noticed a lot of strange artifacts in the darker gradients on the monitor. It's like wave or circular shapes that seems like to split the gradients. It's hard to explain but any idea what this may be caused by? No change (I really do not find anything more useful on google either, so would be a big help if someone knew anything that could fix this because i really do not believe a brand new MSI Optix MPG27CQ and RTX 2070 Super is supposed to be banding this much, right now youtube and netfflix is even unwatcheable it really ruines the experience and gaming is difficult because all dark areas are pitch black and really cannot see the way im supposed to.)

Hey all, Recently (A month or so), I've been noticing colour banding everywhere I look. Games, youtube, netflix, you name it. The problem is, I'm not sure if this is an actual issue, or me just being paranoid idiot. It could be that this banding has always existed but I only just now notice it. I will provided some example screenshots and links of banding I have been seeing. Couple of youtube examples, I have linked them to correct time stamps (I know its not the most reliable thing to use as an example due to compression and what not, but it *really* sticks to my eye) The night sky at the end of the trailer, very noticeable banding During the accolades, some banding Screenshots Netflix, very noticeable banding in the sky Witcher 3, in the sky, decently noticeable especially in game. MGS V, around the lights, decently noticeable. If this all sounds like ramblings of paranoid madman, it very well could be. I have "found" problems before when there was none. So if someone could confirm that everything works as intended that would be great. I got the HTC One M9 recently, and it is pretty good, but I get some banding on some wallpapers I made where there are some gradients. I never had this issue with my N6, or N5, only with this phone.I have tried both PNG and JPG, I tried applying with different apps, I used Sense launcher and Nova launcher, I have searched for a few hours, all to no avail. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this banding issue?

Hi, i recently exeprienced color banding in my games as well on the internet, it's like i'm in 16Bit colors when the resolution is set to 1080P 32Bit, here are some examples to illustrate this: if you look closely, you'll see color banding and tiny vertical lines on web pages like in the second pictures, i visited Nvidia forums, many of 'em are experiencing this trouble even with high end modern graphics cards and none have found the solution, i tried different version of driver, different graphics card, reinstalled the OS; reset the BiOS, used different monitors ... the problem is always here, i'm using an nvidia GTX560 Ti with an I5 3330 and 8Go of ram 1600Mhz, the motherboard is an MSI B75A-G43 Gaming.
