Looking to upgrade my current router as it's garbage (Belkin AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit). I don't care at all for any wireless, as that wouldn't be used that much. Only want something that runs, and runs good. I'll look at them all, no price point set at the moment. I also have a side issue with my computer or router i'm not sure. If i run steam and download someting at 21MB/s, everything else stops working on the computer. Like, chrome, all apps, but steam just keeps downloading. Is that a motherboard issue (Asus b450 - F gaming Strix)?

Hello humans. How do you like your bacon? Give me details, please. Crispy? Soft? Thick? Thin? Maple? Smoked? This is not mustard, I am genuinely curious. Personally I like thin, crispy bacon like potato chips. -Xanthe.

Current computer parts before i go into detail on what i do, i bet someone will guess after reading the part list. (Parts with "will keep" are parts i'm keeping for this build). OS Windows 10 64 Pro CPU (2) Dual Xeon 2670s Motherboard - Asrock ep2c602 RAM - Samsung 8GB 1366 DDR3 REG ECC (8 Sticks) PSU - Seasonic XP2 660 (will keep) Samsung 840 Evo (Holds Windows and VST plugins) HDD - 2 TB Seegate - Samples (will keep) HDD - 3 Tb Seagate - Samples & Installers (will keep) GPU - GTX EVGA 1070 OC MEM (will keep) Other hardware you might not care about Soundcard - RME HDSP 9652 (hmm) External DAC FiiO e03k Headphone Amp - FiiO Eo9K (will keep) Headphones - AKG K702 (will keep) Studio One 4.5 FL Studio 20 (Zgame video program) Yamaha DGX 520 M-Audio 24 controller Mackies MR-8 x2 (i never use these) Monitor PB278Q (2014 one with VA panel) UPDATE: Thanks for the amazing helpful tips from all of you peeps. LOOKING For STILL NEED ADVICE If i go with Gen 4.0 PCIE, would that make it so i can use more M.2 or PCIE 3.0 devices? For example if i use a m.2 to pcie slot x2, doesn't that take away from what my GPU can use? Like my CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 3600) has 20 lanes. The more m.2 drives i try to connect eat that up? If i overclock with 3600 RAM with great VRMs, how fast should i expect? After all the videos for overclocks, should i just use the auto OC? Should i focus on buying a cheaper motherboard and RAM and use that extra money for more towards more SSDs? It would make my life amazing easy with a 2TB SSD NVME.

So, this is kinda a weird story. If you dont want to hear it then skip to the bold text part (Sorry for bad English) One day i was at my computer playing warface and suddently i started smelling bacon. I was very confused so i tried to find the source of this smell. After some smelling i thought it came from my pc. So i started checking the GPU temperature and it was running 84 degrees celcius. I started panicking and shut of my pc and let it cool down. I didnt want my 1080 to die on me. Later i found out that 84 degrees was ok and that my mom was making bacon in the kitchen, so everything was fine. In the process i also realised that most of the ventilation in the case of the computer was blocked off so i fixed that. Now i know that it is possible for GPU's to get up to 100 degrees celcius. SO IS IT POSSIBLE TO COOK BACON ON A GRAPHICS CARD(GTX 1080). Because if it is, i kinda want to start my own "Salty's extra salty GPU cooked bacon cafe or something like that. If bacon wont work. Can you boil an egg? Edit: I dont care what happends to the card. As long as i get my bacon

Hi guys, Am I the only one that has to skip parts of the Wan Show when Linus decides to eat something? I love you Linus, you're my idol but please, I beg you, take a 10 minute break before the stream to eat something. Be gentle with me. I hate Misophonia.

So my sister doesn't like comply tips very much, they keep cracking/breaking on her, and we can't find the silicone tips that come with the Soundmagic E10. I can't find the silicone replacements online, anyone know of a silicone (or just generally durable tips) that will be a suitable replacement. Durability is the most important thing here.

Hey all it's been quite a while since I've posted here. It's heartening to see y'all are so lively after all this time Anyways...Sometimes when I turn on my PC windows explorer loads, but is almost completely unresponsive. While I can manage applications and snap works fine, the windows button, cortana, calendar and notification button will just make a clicking animation but not actually work. Restarting explorer with the restart feature as well as closing it and loading it back up only half-restart it, only loading the windows, cortana and notification button but whenever i mouse over explorer I get the loading/not responding circle. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Is there a fix or any suggestions? Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time -Jacob

Greetings! 1 of the fans that came with my arc midi r2 is ticking at all RPMs. I'm going to replace all of them, and my hyper 212. Planning on Noctua U14s, and 5 NF-A14s. All set up in this config. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9kyMkL Any thoughts on improving this? I'm not really a silence freak, I kinda like a low hum. But I cannot deal with ticking. So idk if the noctuas are right for me. Since I've been on this forum for enough years to know who will answer this question... @WoodenMarker.

Windows 8.1 Multi-Monitor/Multi-Aspect Ratio Steam Issue
Unhelpful posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi everyone. I have 8.1 pro. I have 2 monitors, 1 is 16:9 and the other is 4:3 (pretty much purely for teamspeak and steam). I upgraded from 7 to 8.1 and now when I maximize steam on the 4:3 monitor it treats it as if it is 16:9 and I can only see half of the program. I can fix it by resizing myself, but that is an annoying fix. Anyone have any clue? I'm reposting this since nobody responded yesterday. -
Hi, I'm new here, I mostly post in Mobile Devices, but I figured this question doesn't belong there. So yesterday for the first time I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the January 11th CyanogenMod 12 Nightly for the OnePlus One (bacon). I installed the TWRP custom recovery and everything is working! I downloaded an app called CyanDelta and it allows me to download the latest nightly (this one being Jan. 12th nightly) CM12 on my phone. I was wondering- do I need to completely wipe everything again if I were to flash the new one? I'd rather not, but I will if I have too. Looking for some clarification.

Hi everyone. Small issue that I was wondering if you could help with. Scenario: I am hosting a TS3 server. I have 2 subdomains and 1 domain name pointed towards it. The PC is on my network so I can connect with the private IP. My friends outside the network can connect to it using the subdomains and domain, but I cannot; I have to use the private IP. I was able to connect using the subdomains earlier today, but when I added the domain I suddenly couldn't use any of them. It isn't really an issue since I can still connect and all of my friends can use them, but I'm just wondering if anybody knows what the issue is. Maybe I did a bad job of explaining. I kinda jumbled it, so I'll lay it out. Set up TS3 server on a PC running 24/7 in my local network Grab a freedns domain name, point it towards the PC. It works. Friends and I can connect by typing said domain name I add another domain since a friend just bought a domain and said we could use it. They can all use both, but I can't use either. I have to use the local address. I have set up TS3 servers like this and had them work like this several times in the past. I'm not too worried; since friends can all still connect. It is just weird.

Hello all! So, I've heard lots of rumors about a 790 coming out sometime soon. Which makes perfect sense to me... 590... 690... Now 790! It'll be a dual 780 (right?), on one PCB. So, my questions are as follows: 1. How much credit are there to these rumors? They make sense... But just wondering. 2. If I have a 780, would I be able to SLI 780 and 790? Or is there some magic that would break my theory? 3. How much is the expected launch price? Again, I know the 790 isn't announced yet, just theoretical questions based on knowledge of the past cards Thanks all!

Hello all! So I'm in the process of working on my dream machine (until I dream of something more) and I need some assistance! I'm trying to decide on a motherboard for my build. The requirements are: LGA 1150, PCIe 3.0 x 16x (At least two, with at least another 8x.) My color scheme is of secondary importants, but if it's close between two, my build is Green (like Nvidia green) and black. Thanks all! (Budget: ~$500 USD.)

Hello all! I'm working on some water cooling plans (wrong sub forum eh? ) I need fans for my Radiator [Fans make this the right sub forum right?], and aesthetics aren't an issue (HAF Stacker means they're hidden). What are the best Static Pressure fans (If it's not a solid answer, what are my options?) I was looking at Gelid Wings for the case fans, and I wasn't sure about the rad fans. (Using Monsta 80mm thick Radiators) Please and thank you for all help!

Hello all! So I'm a current user of a three monitor set up. I was wondering how you guys used your set up. I personally would LOVE to run games across all three, however, I don't have the horsepower to run at the settings I want, So Instead! I run with my game in the middle (or left), LTT/Guides/Helpful things on the Middle/left (whichever the game isn't on), and Youtube on the third. What do you guys do?

My PC is about 4 rooms down from my router, too far away to use ethernet, so I use Wifi. Wifi, as we all know, sucks incredible ass when it comes to reliability. So I thought to myself, there has to be a better way. So, after some researching, I found THIS, which seems like it'll solve my problem. The issue is, there are two options for connectivity ports - 10/100M and 10/100/1000M. I honestly don't know what this means, and I want to know if i'll benefit from getting the 10/100/1000M at all. My current plan is 15 down, 5 up (not impressive) and it's even worse when i use Wifi. Thank you, Dave

So im building a PC at my friends house, and we can't get the build to turn on. We're not completely sure that we're plugging the power switch cable into the right spot, but it clicks whenever we turn it on This is where we think it goes, and a reassurance would be nice If everything matches up, then why will the psu click and not turn on? Thanks

So, now that I have a new gaming rig, my cousin's looking into getting one too. Right now he's rocking on an i3 dual core laptop, so yeeah. He has about $800 and I have another hundred prepared to give to him if he does well in school. Now, I have a build set out that I think that will work, but I want to see what you people recommend to buy. The Build Must Include: -Windows 7 Home Premium -Keyboard (He has a wireless Logitech mouse, so getting a new mouse is recommended but not needed) -Monitor Thanks to all
