Greetings Community, In the last few years I have fallen in love with LG phones. There are many reasons for this that I do not have time to list. I Originally purchased an LG V30 and loved it. But then a few issues emerged such as the headphone jack not working, charge port being extremely finicky, it not having been officially updated to Android 10 etc. So, I purchased a GSM unlocked LG V40. What I didn't know about this phone was it was an AT&T GSM unlocked phone that (like other AT&T android devices) does not receive any updates at all unless it is connected through the AT&T network (which I confirmed through much research and contacting AT&T). I then thought it would be as easy as flashing the factory firmware on the device, but oh no; it was no where close to being that easy. After much difficulty with getting the correct and current DLL to work with LGUP, I then went to find the correct kdz file for this device. Only then I found that the android 10 kdz file for the AT&T V405UA was no where to be found. After this I decided to try to flash the Verizon variant for the V405UA only to find the error for crossdl from ATT>VZW. So this is what I am asking/wondering: Is it possible that anyone can find the Android 10 kdz file for the AT&T V405UA? Is there another way to flash a factory Android 10 firmware/os to this phone? What my phone is currently running: Android version: 9 (Pie) Android security patch Level: January 1st, 2020 Software version: V405UA20y Model #: LM-V405UA Not sure if @ShrimpBrime would be the guy to ask or not, maybe he would know who?

I'm just wondering how much you guys think 120gb over will cost on a 40gb plan, not that I totally did this or anything but ya know, theoretically, if I fucked up that badly how much would it approximately be?

Been dealing with painfully slow internet speeds thanks to ATT, came home after work and found out ATT has somehow figured out how to send internet through black holes. I've tried everything possible with the router (on a 45mbps plan and usually get about 745kbps). Nothing has changed since getting the plan which used to provide about 25mbps, still slow but manageable. ATT is saying the connection is fine on their end, not sure how to remedy the situation.

I have a Asus router that is connected to the stock modem that att supplies you. Suddenly the other day the connection drops. The 2.4 and 5 networks are still up but can't be connected to. I have computers on lan going to the router also and they can't connect either. The networks worked for some time and everything seemed fine until it suddenly dropped again. I can not access the modem or router setting while plugged into the router so at a loss. I could probably access the modem by going directly to it but not sure what to do. I would mess with it and do more research but I'm in the midst of finals and just want my internet back quick.

TLDR; my ping is 9. att gigapower is basically 30. if I switch to att, and get the 30 ping, will I lag more on my games? hey guys. I might be getting att gigapower soon. though, I need a gamers perspective or someone who would know the outcome. so heres the question, haha. when I look up network tests for att gigapower, usually the ping in the test is around the high 20s (27,28,29). while I take the same test, my ping is 9. (this might be their problem and might not happen to me, but let's say it's not them, and its att gigapower) does that mean I will lag more in my games? because to me, that's all that matters, and I don't want to get new wifi if I will lag more. thanks!

hey, guys. I just got a call from att. they said I can get 1000mbs wifi, for less money than my Comcast 75mbs wifi. he said I could have a 30-day trail where I can test the speeds. I asked about everything, and it seems that there are no charges. is this possible? how do I get 13x the speed for less money? is there something I'm missing? thanks!

How do i unlock this phone? I bought this phone from somebody who said that it was unlocked. When I put my sim card in it, it asks for a "SIM network unlock PIN". Is this normal for an unlocked phone? If so, how do i get this unlock pin? The phone is originally an ATT phone, so i went through their network unlock claim service and they said that this phone wasn't eligible because its device payments had not been fully payed off. Isn't there a tool I can use on my computer and unlock the phone via usb like when you root a phone?

So I have an old gen WD MyCloud NAS which used to be my one and all backup/Plex server. Since a few months, I almost never see that on "my network places" as the computer icon, but it's always at the "Storage devices". It has a DHCP address instead of a static (didnt know that until yesterday), My write/copy speeds are in the down 30MB/sec and never higher. Right now, I am trying to move files, almost 500GB+ and the transfer time is almost 6 hours. Is the HD in the old MyCloud, the culprit here? Also, I got myself a MyCloud Home (upgrade, wooo!) So transferring from the old to the new. That's where the speeds are low. Once it's done, can I connect the new NAS via a desktop switch? Will I still be able to "see" the device on "my network places". Any ideas for on how to tweak the settings for a faster transfer rate? My modem is from ATT (Boo!) and router is a Netgear Nighthawk (sweet!). Sorry for the most generic, basic post here. Any details needs, please let me know and I can let you all know. Thanks!

Hello So I have a Galaxy S7 Edge from ATT. I got it unlocked and switched my service over to T-Mobile. The phone does still have the ATT firmware on it. What is the easiest way, if there is one, to patch it to T-Mobile? Thanks in advance

Basically, Google and AT&T(a bridge off of bell), are 2 of the companies installing fiber optic cables. The old rules were a 24 hour alert, and specifically, during 10am-4pm, to avoid rush hour. Both companies disobeyed this, working well after 6pm, causing a lot of traffic. Trust me, I live here. As mentioned in here, there have been many complaints. A guy had pretty much all of his resources taken down, a big problem. In dunwoody, two pipelines were broken. Bath of these problems were because of poorly marked maps. Let me give you a timeline of my experience with the best phone I have ever used... For awhile. When I first purchased my G4 about a year ago I was unbelievably pleased. The camera was great, it was fast, the battery lasted for nearly 2 days, and the screen was great (The only thing that has held up with this phone). For awhile I did not have a single issue with the phone. My experience was going great and I couldn't stop telling others about it. However, this "new phone high" only lasted a few months. Eventually issues began to arise for no clear reason. (The phone always had a case on it and I took care of it well never tampering with software or anything of that sort.) First, I noticed a massive drop in battery life. I used to be able to go to school (a massive concrete building that hates cell service), and have nearly 70% of my battery when I would come home, even with a decent amount of use during classes. However, it soon became an issue that my phone would die within a few hours. Originally I thought I torched the battery somehow, however this was not the case. After reviewing performance through multiple analytics apps, the bloatware was simply raping my phone battery incessantly. At first I tried force stopping unnecessary processes, but this only helped a little bit since the processes would just reopen themselves anyways. Then on top of that the wall charger died within 4 months and I was stuck without quick charge. Which, while not entirely detrimental, anyone who has had to revert from quick charge to standard knows how incredibly annoying and slow it can be to charge a 3ah battery on a .8a regular charger. Overall, I was becoming very fed up with all the issues the phone had been having even though it wasn't even a year old. Especially towards the lack of software updates and support from AT&T and LG on these issues. However, on Tuesday I finally got my wish for an update. I got prompted with a message to install marshmallow and thought well great sure I want to. I probably should have done a bit of research first... Most certainly a lesson for the future. For the first 36 hours everything was going pretty smooth. I appreciated the slight changes in design and I believe I noticed some performance benefits as well. Then last night I got a notification for a text message and so I went to flip open the cover (I have the quickcircle case). Guess what happened when I opened up my cover. Please go for it guess. My phone was a brick. For no reason whatsoever it went from working to being bricked while in idle. Restarting the phone would get me to a reboot loop, but I couldn't even get that to happen without taking out and replacing the battery first. Without a doubt I was PISSED that I was recommended with a message from AT&T to download an update that would kill my phone. On top of the fact that their online support team is atrocious. To make this even better I brought my phone into the store this evening and (I do not blame the store reps for the issues I had with AT&T while I was there) after sitting with a rep on hold with corporate for 45 minutes the woman who finally answers slurs every sentence. She then went on to try and research pointless "troubleshooting" that she clearly was reading from the website that she had no experience with. Mostly throwing a hissy fit that the store doesn't keep extra batteries even though we told her multiple times the phone shoes that it can not only charge, but is at 70% battery. (Now let me preface the rest of my rant by saying I'm still covered by the fucking warranty). Her solution to my brick of a phone that gets stuck into an infinite loop every time it turns on and crashes when you try to factory reset is to (try to hold back your laughter hear) send me a new battery. What. An. Imbecile. On top of that she told me I have to not only pay for shipping, wait a week for it to arrive, and then go to the post office to purchase return shipping if it still isn't working. Apparently when you buy a phone from AT&T and their negligence breaks it, you're just shit out of luck for a few weeks until their incompetent support team decides to send you someone else's phone that was refurbished. I officially now can not contact any of my friends, I have now lost out on any potential clients through my home business, and I have no way of getting help if something happens to me while I'm away from home. It honestly blows my mind that this is considered not only legal, but acceptable business practice. If AT&T's support is this bad... I do not even want to know what it's like to be a customer of Sprint or T-Mobile. I don't think I had this many issues with my old I-Phone 5 for christ's sake. In conclusion LG sucks, AT&T sucks, the entire phone market sucks, and I still hate everyone.

Right now I am using ATT's uverse router/modem but no that long ago I bought a new router (Netgear Nighthawk X6 7200) I have already disabled the router that was built in with the modem so the Wi-Fi works fine but I'm having trouble with the LAN ports on the new router. Every time I connect anything through them my Wi-Fi goes out . Is there anything else that i must do in order to make them work properly? Thanks

Hey LTT Fans, do any of you live in the San Diego area? If so, let me know which internet you like better. I currently am paying way too much per month for cox internet (i think its the second from the top tier) and am only obtaining 8000kb/s down and 800kb/s up on my 5ghz wireless N setup. Would I benefit from going to a 802.11ac 5ghz network and using the gateway (modem+router, 5ghz or 2.4ghz n) for my secondary network? We also might need to switch cable companies and ATT has a highest advertised speed of 45mbps which is low because right now apparently my advertised internet speed is 100mbps which seems legit because I can constantly get 8000kb/s when I am connected to the 5ghz network and I am not quite ready to give that speed up. Thoughts?

I live in rural TN, where unfortunately the best internet i can get is ATT "high speed" DSL. Many years ago i swore up and down that i'd never again buy a router or modem from my ISP after having multiple bad experiences and the annoyance of uneducated customer support...SO, that all worked fine until recently. I did (at least) buy a modem/router combo that was directly compatible and approved by ATT, the Netgear DGND3700: also known as the Netgear PoS! It is my 2nd one, after the first one died i replaced it with the same one, this one is now only dropping the wired connection (imagine that) randomly throughout the day, all the while the wireless works just fine. So my question being, any of you who have had in the past, or currently do have, ATT DSL....what is my best bet for something that will actually functionally operate at decent speeds in a direct relation to how much i pay for it? Am i better off getting another modem/router combo or seperate of each? if seperate should the modem be compatible withh ATT, or is there now a way to make just about anything work? Any brand/models that have PROVEN to be of decent build quality? I have 1 PC hard wired to the router, and 3 other computers, tablets, and phones (obviously not all used at the same time) running off wifi. Thanks so much, Bill

So... I've been having some serious issues with my ISP, AT&T. I'm paying for 12mbps down, and 1 up. When it works, I generally get about that much, with 19 ping, and everything works fine. Then, randomly, everything slows to less than a crawl, and makes everything unbearably slow. I actually measured it, and got .5 mbps down, and 0 up, with 900 ping. During my speedtesting though, most of the time the speed goes right back up when I start the test, then about 5 minutes later, goes down again. Also, I've noticed that the ISP likes to bounce around during these times, from AT&T to Singtel, Monkey Brains, and many other local ISPs. I know that it's not a router issue, because it just got replaced, and this had been going on long before this. (The connection issues are with both wireless and wired connections.) I'm at a loss on what to do here. Is AT&T screwing me? Or is there something else going on? Either way, I'm getting pissed.

So I got a new router few days ago (asus ac3100) and I have att. I disabled wireless on att stock modem and all that and router works great but as a few of you know att has this wireless tv AP (cisco Ven401). I cant seem to get it to work when plugging it into router. I have tried a few basic things but I am open to literally input or help.

Does anyone have any experience with Cellular signal boosters that could shed some light on my current predicament? I'm looking into getting one for my parent's for Christmas, they live in the middle of nowhere and get terrible reception with ATT. I would need one that covers ~5000sq.ft. (house + front and back yard). As I understand it the signal strength required for that kind of coverage is about the max the FCC will allow. Assuming I could find a device like that in the $300-500 price range, did your carrier give you any flak, or did it cost any monthly maintenance fee on your bill in order to use it? That would be a non-starter given the insane initial cost. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
