Whats is the best Hardware monitoring tool?
alphatessi posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Hi there. I have tried many Tools for tracking the hardware. I am still looking for the very best. Have Tried Aida 64 already. At the moment my bets are on the aquasuite from Aquacomputer but that is licensed and i can only use it because i use an Acuacomputer fancontroller as well. There is my example in the Spoiler. Are there other suggestions? -

hello, i am looking to water cool a vega 64. the choices for water blocks are pretty slim. i can get an EK block for $130, and an aquacomputer block for $140. which is far more than i want to spend on a block. but i can also get a barrow block for about $85. therein lies my dilemma. any thoughts?

This has been my main rig for about 3 years, running everyday without changing liquid (not a very good idea) but about a month ago I decided it was about time to do some small upgrades to it and I ordered new fluid, new hoses and got my hands on a second GPU which I was planning on watercooling but that plan has been put on hold due to lack of waterblocks that fit. On a side note I do have a spare waterblock for a Refrence desing GTX 570 if anyone needs it! So Specs.. here's the full list Case: Modded Coolermaster Kandalf LCS Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair Formula Z CPU: AMD FX-9590 @ 4.9 ghz RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600 mhz Disks: Intel 180gb 520 series SSD (OS), Western digital 1tb HDD, Western digital 1,5 tb HDD PSU: Mist 1000W GPU's: 2 x Asus ENGTX 570 DCII 1280MB Cooling blocks: 1 EK-FC580 (GPU), 1 EK Supremacy XLT (CPU) Pump: Aquacomputer Aquastream XT Ultra USB with external flow sensor (painted black) Radiator: Standard kandalf 360 mm, came with case. Just order all my watercooling Parts for my first attempt at Watercooling, Is their anything else I need? Is the Swiftech MCP655 (With Speed control) Pump any good? I was debating between Swiftech MCP655 Series, Alphacool vpp655 and Aquacomputer D5 Pump Core with Speed Control. Also with Distilled Water and Dazmode Protector whats the longest time I can run my PC for? I don't have any kind of dyes in the system if that matters. The description says that the Aquacomputer Poweradjust 3 USB can control 9 fans but only has one power out so does that mean they are all on one header? I'm looking to control 6 120mm Noctua fans for an upgrade that I'm slowing putting together. I don't have any 5.25" bays for a fan controller and I want finer control than is granted by my mobo so I was hoping this would work. If you know of a different solution I'm all ears. Best thing would be if Corsair still sold their link command mini station but so far I've only seen it in stock in an Australian store and they don't ship overseas

I finally set up my watercooling rig, and it features a Swifttech MCP655 pump hooked up to an AquaComputer PowerAdjust 2 module, which controls the speed of the pump through software. I dialed the pump down to 8.0V, which is the minimum for this pump, but it is still very loud, and it's running at 3600RPM. This pump should be able to run at 1800rpm according to websites. Any ideas on how to reduce the speed? I also tried turning the voltage further down, but anything below 7.7V makes the pump stop completely.

Hurro! So,as you would expect, this is another build log but this time (for a long time) its for me for a change! I am working away on a scratch build in the ITX flavour but got held up trying to get stuff actually made up,so i decided to do a build anyway while im ironing out the wrinkles in it. You can see my scratch design here So i started looking at cases, nothing really caught my eye until i saw the S3 from Caselabs.......well,it ticked all my boxes and, even though its not cheap once its imported,I was sold on it. No expense spared on the naming as usual. The basic hardware will be as follows: Asus IMPACT Z87 ITX mobo,on pre order.....still waiting. i5 or i7...not sure yet as this will be a LAN box/daily driver while the SR2 gets its upgrade,i7 is a bit overkill for this purpose. Plus im delidding it,i5 is a bit less of a hit if my hands of meat ruin it. 780 of some description... Corsair Platinum 2400 ram,Scan have a good deal on this right now. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-%282x4gb%29-corsair-ddr3-dominator-platinum-pc3-19200-%282400%29-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-10-12-12-31-dhx- Couple of SSDs...The new Samsung EVO drives look a bit tasty. WD Caviar Black for the pron and pizza pics. Obviously wasserkooled, this time acrylic rather than my standard copper tubing (I dont think Magoo would let anything else happen tbh) So,shall we have a mooch around the case? I went for the full fat S3 with pedestal, windows all round and the vented IO panels I bought the pedestal as a precaution in case my cunning plan doesnt work out like i want,i did mention its going R-ITX rather than horizon right? No? Sorry.......= ) The finish is in primer grey as its having a custom paint job......airbrush work not done by myself so it should look good! Whats in the box Mr Parker? Instructions...thrown away....Im asserting my manliness today. All the nicely wrapped panels in a pile.this is the case bit,the pedestal is an entirely different pile.... First panel and the one that is not being used in the mod (R-ITX remember? Im making my own) I did mention to Caselabs about selling front and back blanks and it was well received so maybe I wont have to make one....... Base panel. A bent piece.....nothing a pair of pliers cant sort tho. And the 2 panels fixed up. Another piece im no likely to use...except the mounts for the SSD and HDD Pick of it inside.[...before it all gets hit with the mod stick. Front panel. Nice mesh. More assembly...... And panels on. Thats all im doing today, the light is going and my hand hurts, tomorrow i will be assembling the ped and then showing roughly what im doing inside before breaking it all down again. If you were wondering how easy is it to build this case...... Im doing it one handed....

I've been thinking about water cooling for awhile now, but my case is so small I'll have to mount a rad externally. That's fine, but I'm concerned about situations where I'd have to move my computer around, in which case the external rad (I was thinking 3x120mm) would be a huge pain, so I'd like to have an easy way to disconnect the "main loop" and external rad while still being able to (less efficiently) cool my PC. For the CPU (I only have the stock air cooler on it now...) I'd like to get an Apogee XL. I was trying to find solutions for a sort of "custom" All-In-One so that if needed I could disconnect it from the main loop (with the large external rad) and instead connect it to a single 120mm rad mounted in the rear fan slot of the case. The CPU would be the only component connected to it in this configuration, so I'd think it should be able to handle cooling it fine. Unfortunately, this means that the 120mm rad would have to have an integrated pump (instead of pump on the CPU block like most AIOs) and I just can't find one in this size. I essentially want something just like the Swiftech H220-X but as a single 120mm unit. I've found an Aquacomputer radiator/pump single 140mm unit and I even saw that at one point Swiftech was considering an H220-X unit in a single 140mm size, but my case is very small and wouldn't even be able to fit a 140mm size unit in the back. I have no place/room to mount it in the top/front/bottom either, so that's really my only choice. Does anyone now of a single 120mm rad/pump unit or has anyone tried to make something similar on their own? Do you think I could cannibalize the Aquacomputer 140mm unit and replace the fan/rad with a 120mm one, or is it not able to come apart like that? However, both it and the H220X come with a beefy D5 pump, and I really don't think I'd need that for a single CPU so any sort of custom/Jerry-rigged solution could use a much cheaper/smaller pump. Any other suggetions? If I get something like this working, would it be worth it to connect it to the main loop when I'm using the "full" water cooling capabilitiy to give it a small "boost" in performance, or leave it as just a single D5 pump + 3x120mm external rad? Edit: Just found this Swiftech MCR-X20 dual/tri 120mm rad/pump unit - does anyone know if I could get that and attach the pump unit to a 120mm rad instead? For the GPU I'm really liking the idea of the Asus Poseidon which can be both air/water cooled - I could easily disconnect it from the water loop and it can still be air cooled without having to change anything out (though I probably would want to drain it out first, right?). In the US it seems that only the Poseidon 780 (Platinum?) - does anyone know if I could get that and attach the pump unit to a 120mm rad instead? For the GPU I'm really liking the idea of the Asus Poseidon which can be both air/water cooled - I could easily disconnect it from the water loop and it can still be air cooled without having to change anything out (though I probably would want to drain it out first, right?). In the US it seems that only the Poseidon 780 (Platinum?) has been released, but on Asus' website it also lists a Poseidon 770 (Platinum) version which I would be much more interested in, especially if I could get 2 for somwhere in the range of $300-400 for SLI. I have seen this for sale on a few UK sites (as well as Amazon UK) but with the exchange rate and shipping it'd be almost as much as the 780 so not worth it at all. Does anyone know if Asus is planning to release the Poseidon 770 in the US? Also, is it typical for Asus to only release certain products in certain regions like that? I'd never heard of that before for graphics cards. Edit 2: For those interested my case is a yellow Super Blade Color (also pictured in my current avatar). Its a Mid Tower (I think) case, so not very big, and some might think its a bit... gaudy, but I really wanted a predominantly yellow case (there really only a few out there) and I liked the look of the front panel. TL;DR in bold
