Q#1 Hey can anyone point me in a direction to find out more about AF or SP fans in a Node 202 or in general Mini ITX case, either a guide or site comparison? Thanks for any help!! : ))) Basically I was thinking x2 SP120 fans would be good in the Node 202 right by the GPU as they need to pull air into the case; #1 through the dust filter and #2 across the GPU into compact case. AF120 vs SP120 Perfromance Airflow ------------- 63.47 CFM, Static Pressure 1.1 mm/H20, Speed 1650 RPM, Sound 30dBA Static Pressure -- 62.74 CFM, Static Pressure 3.1 mm/H20, Speed 2350 RPM, Sound 35dBA Edit picked ML120 -thanks Mello ML120 AF/SP---- 12-75 CFM, Static Pressure 0.4-4.2 mm/H20, Speed 400-2400 RPM, Sound 16-37dBA Q#2 So same CFM but better pressure pulling air through a filter and across the GPU into the rest of the case +PWM control, at the cost of +5dBA? Now to choose x2 AF120 or x2 SP120 PWM fans?

So I watched Linus' most recent videos where he bashed the AF120s a slight bit. So I ask, what's the issue with them vs SP120s? Wouldn't SP120s be better for heatsink and radiator use, and the AF120s for case fan use? I mean that's literally how they're described as by Corsair themselves, one for case and one for cooling solutions.

I need help with my case fans. It started to flicker when I added more fans to my case. Fans that are in my case: 2 Cryorig QF120 balance edition 4 Corsair AF120 LED white fans. I attached my back fan(Cryorig QF120 balance) to my sysfan 1 socket in my motherboard. I attached my cpu air cooler fan(Cryorig QF120 balance) to my cpu fan socket in my mother board I attached my 4 Corsair AF120 to my deepcool fan hub: http://deepcool.com/product/dcoolingaccessory/2013-12/12_663.shtml and attached it to my sysfan 2 socket in my motherboard. I tried to trouble shoot the issue. When I remove one of corsair fans from the fan hub, the flickering will stop. but when I attach all the fans, the corsair fans will all flicker again. Here are my computer specs: MoBo - msi b150m bazooka - I'm thinking that my mobo is the issue. It can't support enough power to all of my fans. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Processor - i7 6700 - locked PSU - 520W seasonic evo ii m12 bronze 80+ bronze full modular RAM - Corsair vengeance LED (2x 8gb) 32gb HDD - 1tb Seagate SSD - sandisk ultra II 960gb Molex - Deepcool 350 rgb LED strip Here is the video of my desktop https://youtu.be/X9p7_qxq8mE Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I was thinking to buy couple of fans after I get my case (Fractal design define C). I am trying to make my system as quiet as possible on load and while idle. I was thinking to get Be quiet Silent wings 3 fans but they are hell of expensive. I found a way cheaper alternative that quite a lot of people recommended and that is Corsair AF silent edition fans. But as I looked into specs corsair was way more louder (up to 25dB while be quiet is up to 18dB). Now I'm thinking is it better for me to buy corsair fans or just save a lot of money for be quiet ones? I'll need at least 2x 140mm and 1x 120mm fans. Any other suggestions are welcome as long as they are not expensive as hell and quiet.

I have a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P rev 2.0 motherboard, a Silverstone 8 way fan hub, and 4 Corsair af120 "quiet edition" fans. I just recently upgraded my case and got those fans. My motherboard has a cpu fan, power fan, and 2 system fan headers. i only have the 2 system fan headers open because of my cpu radiator, so I got the fan hub. with all 4 case fans plugged into the hub they run really loud. any ideas? i plugged just one fan into the header and it ran quiet like it's supposed to.

So I decided to plug in the less voltage cord thing and when I tried to unplug it it wouldn't come out. Am I stupid or did I fudge up?

Hello, I recently built my first computer the case was a 460x crystal series. Unfortunately the case does not come with an exhast fan, so I ended up going with a AF120 quiet edition. When I hooked up the the fan I noticed there was not very much coming out of it and my case was reaching temps of 87 degrees F. The fan is a 3 pin so adjusting the RPMs is out of question. Power consumption is out of question because I have a EVGA G3 750, and the fans that come with the case work perfectly. Any suggestions?

Hi all, Does anyone use the Corsair AF120 Purple LED fans? Wanted to know if there are any LED strips that could match the hue of the purple. I bought some Deepcool RGB light strips as they were a bargain at $10 for 2 strips but unfortunately the purple is well. I saw that Bitfenix Alchemy has a strictly purple LED strip but they are far more expensive with those magnetic strips and what not.

Recently I was going to buy the CableMod LED kit, but I scrapped that idea because $20 shipping is pretty outrageous. So instead I decided that I'm going to buy two more Corsair AF120 Performance fans to replace the non-PWM NZXT FNv2 fans that came with the case (I'll probably but those in my friend's rig if he wants them) and a few PWM extension cables to get all of my fans to reach my PWM fan hub. So basically I have a couple things to ask: Will I be able to control the fans in the hub (hub is going to be plugged into the only PWM header on my board, and the CPU cooler is going to the 3-pin header) even though the hub is receiving SATA power? I ask this because without the hub plugged into the header they run at full tilt, and I don't know if I'd be able to control them because of that external power. My fan hub is a Silverstone CPF04. Also, is there any particular benefit of going with more expensive PWM extension cables other than looks? I found this cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812423167&cm_re=pwm_fan_extension_cable-_-12-423-167-_-Product which is only $1.50 and is black sleeved. Preferably I'd like to have some sort of black or blue sleeved cable as my case is black and blue. Thanks, -Manchu

Alright so i am looking into getting a corsair 750d as i have the 350d and really like it. But i have one concern, i really like how out of the box it comes with 3 well performing fans, but unfortunatly i cant seem to find them availible for sail and dont want to mix match fans so my only other option would be to buy 5 new fans rather than just 2 other af140l fans. Also if possible could you link me to some af120l fans for my hyper 212 evo so that all of the fans will matching completely and still be cheaper than buying all new af140/120 fans. Thank you very much for the time and help!

Hi guys! I'm new to the forums and I'm building a new rig with the 250D case from Corsair. I'm planning to do watercooling and I wanted to use the SP120 White LED fans but are not available in my country, but the AF120 White LED fans are available. I was wondering if I should go with the AF120 LED fans in PULL config (it would be used as an intake). Will there be any performance hit? I would like to get some advice. Opinions are welcome! Thanks!

What can you say about these fans: Which one is better Corsair AF120 Performance Dual Pack -$26.81 Thermaltake Luna 120mm - $10.50 Coolermaster Sickleflow - $8.94 Noctua fans are expensive for me cause the Nf-f12 is almost the price of corsair dual pack Im from Philippines and converted the price to USD so you guys can comment about the performance and also the price. I dont really need it now cause still using Pentium G3240 but ill be adding a 760/960 hopefully a 970 or soon. Ill be upgrading to i5 4690k. My current case is Aerocool Strike-X One. Thanks everyone

Are corsair fans any good ? I have been looking at case fans for the last week and I noticed the corsair fans are nothing compared to other fans. For example the bitfenix spectre PWM LED 140mm fans, are quieter and at the same time have more cfm and static pressure than the corsair sp140/af140 (quiet edition) fans... what gives? It seems like that every fan manufacturer states their noise ratings so vaguely... most of them say their fans run at 20-30 db but when the fans run at 12V they come close to 40 or even more during reviews.. again what gives, I don't understand. So far I've settled for the Bitfenix spectre PWM LED 140mm intakes because they have high cfm and static pressure ratings and run at 24 db.. they look so basic but I cant say no to 56.1 cfm and 2.14mm/H20 (high pressure because of fine dust filter and hdd bays) and alpenfoehn wing boost 2 plus pwm 120mm as rear and top exhaust fan because they pull a shitload of air... and are rated at 20db are there any better fans out there? apart from noctuas (fans have to be black or blue)

I am going to be building a system in the NZXT H440, and although the case is highly regarded in almost every way, it lacks airflow. I was wondering if it would be better to have Corsair SP120's or AF120's (Quiet Editions) in the front for intake. The sound dampening foam restricts intake and the fans probably need a good amount of static pressure, so I'm wondering which type of fan would get more air to the components inside. I am also open to suggestions for other fans that would perform well in the front of the H440, and be silent-optimized as well.

Hello there, this is my first time using this Forum so take my layout with a grain of salt :) Also I'm from the UK so if linking please use sites with GBP or ship to the UK. I would like general advice for my future upgrade selections, but more specifically towards the case and cooling. By having a corsair 300R, ill be using 2 AF120's as intake in the front, a SP120 as an exhaust at the back (Hierachy of needs): 1. Costs, 2. Performance/cooling 3. noise 4. looks My problem: current case with no case fans, stock heatsink with i've used up all available "working space". (FU = Future Upgrade) My current system: CPU: Intel G2120, Ivy Bridge, 3.1GHZ stock - FU = 3570k or 3770k Heatsink: Stock Intel 1155 - FU = 212 EVO = £30 MOBO: Gigabyte brand 1155 socket, not sure on model number, ATX mobo RAM: Corsair Vengence 1600MHZ 8GB (2x4gb) (non-low-profile) Graphics: Gigabyte HD7850 OC 2GB - FU = Gigbyte HD7970 or Gigabyte GTX680 PSU: Coolermaster 80plus bronze 85% 500w - FU = Corsair builder series 600w HDD: Barracuda 7200 RPM 500GB - FU = Western digital Caviar Blue 7200RPM 1TB SSD: None - FU = samsung 840 256GB Case: - FU = Corsair 300R = £65-£80 Case Fans: (Thinking to buy) Corsair AF120 twin pack and single SP120 = £35 I would like to have my cooling setup ready before I upgrade my CPU,GFX and storage solution. But if you have the time to add where I could do better then please by all means comment. Ok so you can see I am upgrading to the corsair carbide 300R, and I will be buying some fans alongside the case Also I would like to upgrade the heatsink from stock to a 212 evo, will the heatsink fit or will the vengence heatspreaders prevent this? Am I going overkill with the fans do I need less or more? Am I buying the right fans for the job or are there more efficient/cheaper available Thank you taking the time to read this lengthy post and I hope you can help me :)

I have the Enermax Ostrog case and I am about to put 2 corsair af120's in it as intake and exhaust. I was wondering if I should get a SP120 for the front intake because it doesnt seem to have a whole lot of open space to draw air from. So would a AF120 or a SP120 be better for the front intake? or does it even matter at all? This is what my case looks like.

Hello all! Welcome to my very nontechnical review, and my thoughts of the Gentle Typhoons, compared to the SP, and AF 120 by Corsair. Why I bought these fans: I recently bought some Gentle Typhoon 14's (3 to be exact), to replace some very loud Corsair fans. The Corsair ones were making so much sound, that my microphone was picking it up. After many awesome recommendations, I decided to pick these up. First Thoughts: I received the fans, and was very unimpressed. They came in tacky packaging, with a Molex adapter, and 4 standard fan screws. The fan itself is very heavy compared to the Corsair fans, and the motor in the middle is much larger. I installed them, which has no thrills (as the Corsair have the rubber mounts). I considered at this point purchasing some rubber grommets for the fans, but figured I would see what they were like as is. Thoughts on the Sound: The fans are nearly silent. I have one other fan (one that came with my case), and it's the only fan I truly hear. My GPU's (2 780's) and that one fan are the only sound I truly hear coming from this system currently. Now, these fans are currently connected VIA fan headers on my PSU, that pump straight 12v into them at all times. Under volting these fans is a future endeavor after I get a fan controller. These fans are awesome, look awesome, and sound awesome. Thoughts on the Performance: ON TOP of the sound reduction, the temperature is a world of difference too! On my h70 by Corsair, I had 2 SP120's to keep temperatures nice, I only needed one Gentle Typhoon to remain at a low temperature. Conclusion: These fans are amazing, and make almost no sound. If I ever needed more fans, I would buy more Gentle Typhoons (if I could find them!) -Note: I'm picking up two Noctua NF-F12's tomorrow from Fed-ex, and I will edit the post to tell you my thoughts on those, compared to these other two fans. EDIT: Noctua fans arrived! Here's my thoughts. First Thoughts: Beautiful packaging. They came in a box that has a Velcro door that opens, to show the fan, and the rubber noise isolating mounts. The fan, is ugly, but I expected that, and it won't be in view in my build. The fan comes with a y-splitter (PWM), an extension because the cable attached is very short, and a low speed adapter. Thoughts on the Sound: Now, these fans aren't loud. I replaced one Cooler Master OEM fan (came with my HAF Stacker), with two of these Noctua NF-F12s. They are however, louder than the Gentle Typhoons, kind of. Let me explain, I don't actually think these fans are any louder. I do however, think that these fans make a different sound than the Typhoons. The Typhoons brag about the sound being less obnoxious to the human ear right on the box, and it delivers. The Noctua's probably produce about the same amount of sound (if not, a little bit more), but it's a much more noticeable, and obnoxious tone. Thoughts on the Performance: Their Noctuas. If anyone expected them to be flops, and terrible, then you're wrong . These fans push lots of air, especially for the sound they produce. Conclusion: (For the Noctuas) Their louder than I'd like, but they'll be more than fine after I turn them down to 800-1000 RPM. They push a lot of air (which is great), and they're PWM which the Gentle Typhoons are not. Overall Conclusion: The Gentle Typhoons would be my purchase if I needed more fans. I don't have a need for PWM fans, as I'm using a fan controller that works fine with 3 pins. The Gentle Typhoons are quieter (less noticeable sound), better looking (duh), and are performing like champs. The only case where I would get the Noctuas over the Gentle Typhoons, would be if I needed PWM. These are my thoughts, and opinions on the Corsair SP/AP120's, Gentle Typhoons, and Noctua NF-F12 fans. Hello all! I recently ordered the new Phanteks Enthoo Pro case (great value case by the way, $100 and packed with features). This comes with 2 fans preinstalled, a 140mm back exhaust, and a single 200mm intake. Knowing that 2 fans probably won't be sufficient, I just ordered 2 AF120's that are coming in a few days. My main question is, should i put the AF120's as 2 top exhausts and keep the 200mm as an intake? Or switch them around so the 200mm is a top exhaust. Note there is also a fan mount inside the case, so another possibility would be to have an AF as a top exhaust, and another AF as an interior fan to improve the airflow intake from the 200mm. I also think that the front and top can only house a single 200mm fan, without any others (i think, haven't actually got the case yet), so if i wanted a 120mm and a 200mm on the same panel i would have to do some modding. Overall, I want to know how effective 200mm and 120mm fans are as intakes and exhausts. Here are some pics to further explain Thank you!

Hi, ive just brought a Corsair 750d, i love the case but i want to fill the case with Corsair AF120 quite edition fans, but the thing is i want to keep my pc as dust free as possible, i know you do this by having positive pc pressure. There is two intakes in the front three 120's in the top and one 120 in the back. I know top fans should really be used as a exhaust but if i put the AF120s as intake to get positive pressure i would not be able to see the rings on the fans. So the real question is how much difference does possitive pressure make with dust it the case will i notice big dust build up with negative pressure over positive. Any response will be greatly appreciated, Thanks Chris

I was looking at NCIX's new inventory arrivals and happened upon these: http://www.ncix.ca/search/?categoryid=0&q=Corsair+Air+Series+LED So far only blue, red, white and purple LED choices in the quiet edition SKUs. They look promising so I think I may order a blue two-pack; I'll let you all know how the LED quality if and whenever I get them.

Hi all, So I'm going to be purchasing a Corsair Air 540 very shortly and I had a few questions about fan setup etc and was hoping someone could help me So, here we go: 1. In the Air 540 there is a maximum of 6 fan mounting positions, two at top (140mm), one at back (140mm) and 3 in the front (120mm). If I set the two at the top and the back as exhausts and the three in the front as intakes would that give me good temps because I know most people either have positive or negative air pressure but this would be an equal amount of intake and outage fans so would that have a positive or negative effect? 2. The front of the case with the three fan mounts has a dust filter and I was just wondering if that would restrict airflow enough that I would need to buy static pressure optimised fans instead of airflow optimised fans or would I be ok with just the airflow fans? Thanks in Advance, Paul.

Hey guys, Right so im looking at the SP120's, AF120 and AF140's I realise the difference between the two but was looking to see what info I could get from you guys seems as you all seem to be a hell of a lot more experienced than I am. So on the Obsidian 350D it has room to be able to equip 2x140mm fans or 2x120mm fans. So my thinking is as there is the front pannel in the way it requires air to be drawn in from the front edges of the panel so a static pressure fan would be better. My problem is that as you may know corsair do not make SP140's well they do but they are the LED ones that cause much more noise. So my point which would be better to put into my case 2x120mm SP120's with gaps around the edges or 2x140mm AF140's? Thanks alot guys.

For my new build I'm going with the beautiful H440 by NZXT. It supports 3 120mm in the front, 3 120mm on top, and a 120/40mm in the back. I'll be using the Corsair H100i, swapping out the default fans for two SP120s, and i'll also be filling the last top remaining place with a SP120 also. For the front, I don't know what to use. I was considering More SP120s, but someone said to use some AF120's instead, and then another person said no because of the vents and constricting airflow! So now I'm lost! What fans should I get? I'll be using the front as as intake, the top as in intake, (so I guess..in a pull config?) and the back as an exhaust. In a nutshell: How can I get the best airflow with corsair AF/SP120s in a NZXT H440 with a H100i. Also, this is my first time posting to this site, so I apologize if I left anything out or made a mistake! Thanks for any replies!

Hi guys, Do you think the AF120s would perform well on a H100? Or do you suggest other fans? The reason I'm considering to change the stock ones is that they are very dusty and from what I heard you can get noticeably better performance with a new set. Also I would be adding other fans to the case so it would be nice to get all the fans in one go if possible.

Hello forum In a little while I will be building my new system in Lian Li's PC-V359 case, however, I'm a bit unsure how to optimize the airflow in the case. I will be using either Corsairs AF120's or their SP120's as fans in this case. The case is split in two compartments, a lower and an upper. The lower part isn't a problem, since I'm most likely just going to put a SP120 down there(maybe even a noctua, who knows). The upper part on the other hand is where I become unsure. The picture down below should give a pretty good idea of where I'm considering mounting fans: The CPU cooler for this system will be a single tower air cooler from be quiet!, the Dark Rock 3(green on the picture). The blue spots on the picture air places that I'm sure to place fans, however, I'm in doubt about two things: should they be AF120's or SP120's and should they blow air into the case or pull air out of the case? The rear exhaust will naturally blow air out of the case, but what about the two other 'blue fans'? Aditionally it's possibly to mount two fans behind the GFX, but I'm not sure whether or not this is worth it with noise levels in mind. Should I place these(yellow ones)? If yes I'm probably going with SP120's. Thanks for any and all help
