Budget (including currency): Already purchased GPU, about £500 left to spend. Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: For gaming, current games are Destiny 2 and Remnant 2 Other details This is a build for a friend, they have been an xbox console gamer for many years, but are now coming over to PC. They have already purchased the GPU and sent me their pcpartpicker list https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/MzHpVW They are looking for 1440p if possible, with as high fps as they can get Not included in the pcpartpicker list is a case, a mouse and a keyboard, which are needed. They would like to make the purchase at the end of this week. Ideally they want to get as many items from amazon because although pcpartpicker has the website awd with cheaper prices, awd don't have the best reputation. Any advise would be really appreciated!

Hey guys looking for some advise to try and keep the 13900ks from hitting the high 90c (Not in benchmarks) and if I should keep the 64GB DDR5 at its XMP profile of 6400mhz (hearing that some CPU memory controllers start to cry). So my Rig has a custom liquid loop of 2x 460mm Rads from EK and they estimate about 750W heat dissipation which also contains a full block 3080TI. The CPU block is the Velocity 2 from EK. Idle temps in the rig are fine usually around 30-35c (I live in Australia with terrible Evap and its currently 28c in the room). From past experience CPUs that have a sudden spike in temp usually indicate poor contact with the cooler or not enough thermal paste. However triple checking the thermal application and the water block I can safely say its not the issue. And usually when the CPU does hit 90-100c (In cinebench) the rads are pumping out a lot of heat. I've disable the ASUS multi-core enhancement (disabled - Intel Spec only) but the power draw on the CPU is still insane topping out at 320W with a voltage draw of 1.45v. Which should i tackle first, is there a setting in the BIOS to limit the CPUs power draw more to control the temp or should i undervolt or will this cause issues when under full load? Thanks.

Hi all, I have a r9 3900, rtx 3080 OC, 32gb drr4, 6 case fans and 4 disks. A 800w PSU is sufficient? I search in the net the PSU calculators, but every page gives me different results. All the best.

I am after moving to a wireless keyboard and mouse, but for once I would like to get something decent (I usually buy relatively cheap peripherals). I don’t have too many requirements: keyboard should be 100% if possible I would like some Marco keys also preferably mechanical, and low profile mechanical if possible (but it’s not a deal breaker if it’s not) with a good wrist rest (or option for one) mouse needs to be wireless also good sensor with adjustable DPI on the fly preferably both should be able to use the same dongle, so a set would be good, but if there is a good enough reason, I can also buy separate brands. Thanks all in advance for your feedback/input.

Hello General forums, Bring all your problem, and problem solving skills here please. I finished a 4 day 3d print of a hull model I created a week ago of a luxury yacht. I am finalizing the Deck print currently so I do not have final print photo to share. I am going to be taking molds off these parts so that I can produce multiple runs of this deck for different purposes. -Photo realistic model for wall display -RC boats, realistic and fun -(Here is my proposal, and question for the forum) A PC build I do not have experience with underwater builds or should I say under oil builds. I am considering giving it a go but understand there will be a number of un explored obstacles along the way. I have supplied a photo done with crayons (its what I had in front of me at the time.) to relay the idea. -long tank -tank draws oil from the back -tank pumps oil at high speed from the front -motherboard is suspended mid tank -motherboard contains the following ->cup ->m.2 ->memory ->graphics risers -boat is floating -boat contains the following ->power supply ->video card ->cables down to motherboard, power, riser cables ->cables out to wall jack The goal for the project would be the following -a decorated tank bottom -boat will perform a proper list from pump flow -CPU will experience proper cooling from oil flow -GPU will be air cooled from back of boat -Power supply will be allowed to air cool from within the boat The final boat material would be carbon fiber pulled from the mold. The boat is 2 feet long The tank would be normal fish tank. Pumps will be pond pumps with different 3d printed experimental nozzles. Decorations to be determined. This is meant to be a fun project, nothing is finalized, even its undertaking is not finalized. At the very least I have been fascinated with he idea of oil build and fish tanks. Please see pictures below, and TANK you in advance for any interest you show in my Computer BOAT. Cheers,

So I'm planning to pursue my masters in another country and since I'll be spending quite some time there, I figure to build a PC. Instead of building everything from scratch I'm planning to reuse my 1060 and my hard drive + ssd. That means I'll only need to spend on a new cpu, motherboard, ram and psu (currently using i5 4460). I was wondering, after finishing the build and booting with my old hdd + ssd, do i need any special attention (like download drivers and stuff), or the program and games will automatically accept the new cpu and run normally. Thanks to whoever have the time answering this

Hello everyone! My laptop is at the point where I want to retire it from gaming and use it for just work and art. It runs alright still but I am ready and at a good point to move onto a PC. I have done all I can for my laptop and fixed it as much as I can without taking it to a repair place and we have two reputable ones near me. I'm not going to touch Dell again for a long time since my laptop right now is a Dell and I want something with a quality I can trust not a 50/50 deal. I hear HP is one I should avoid also and Alienware is not what it once was unless I am wrong and if so please tell me. I want to make a good educated decision with my purchase. I know pre builds get some flack but I do not have the time in my life right now to build a PC myself but if I could I would. I am looking for something to game on mostly I do not need anything for editing. The biggest games I play are Rust, 7 Days and Stranded Deep. I would like to have RTX as I have GTX right now. The area I have to put a PC is 24X24 inches. I do not need to have all RGB its not a must have for me a little here or there is fine. I am looking for something that has the capacity to be upgraded down the road or at least to be fixed by myself. I am going to look at Corsair today and a few other brands I know of. Any advice or help is welcomed Thank you! tl:dr: Want a pre built GTX For gaming not editing No Dell, HP Must fit in a 24X24 inch area Any advice is welcome

Hello Everyone, I wanted to get some advise from you regarding a PSU RMA that I am about to do. I am sending in my PSU for the RMA. I need to also send in my MOBO and CPU as these are items I cannot test to see if they are working. The Question: Should I send in my RAM and GPU as well? I did test the RAM in my girlfriends computer with Memtest86 and it passed with no issue. Also I put the GPU in her computer and it worked fine as well. However I just don't want something to be wrong that I didn't know about, because I can't send it back 3 months from now. However I a also worried about RMA hiccups as well. If you want the quick story: I was using my computer, literally for boring adult stuff, and it shut off. I turned it back on and then eventually it shut off again. Finally it began to just turn on and then back off. It only stays on for about 1 second. I did a lot of troubleshooting and unplugged everything it does not need to work. Finally found out that if I take the 8 pin CPU power out, the computer will stay on... but that does not really help now. Anyway so I finally suck up the fact that I don't have the equipment to test board level items and take it to a shop. The shop does their stuff and apparently cannot do board level items... even through I asked them (I got a refund if you were curious). The shop did say that the PSU failed their test and it could possibly be the PSU died and took the MOBO with it. I had a hunch that happened, but didn't know. Anyway Great! My PSU is still under warranty, good thing I got that Platinum rated PSU. I call Corsair they made an RMA for me and say to send in what I think is damaged. They will test their PSU, and then if they determine the PSU was the issue test everything else. If and item fails they will get rid of it and either give me another or compensate at "current market value". Closing Thank you for you help in advance. I have never had to do an RMA before. I do not know if the power supply is good enough or the CPU for that matter and at which point is it more effective to just build a new rig. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/GWhgXL I was thinking adding: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6Y66Mp/corsair-rm-2019-750-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020195-na https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wvgQzy/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-8-gb-founders-edition-video-card-900-1g142-2520-000 would those work with my current set up or do i need more power from the cpu to prevent bottle necking?

Hello there, I'm currently looking for a new monitor to buy in the coming months. Requirements are: 1440p / 27" / focus on gaming not color accuracy / flat panel and the last point I'm struggling with: I would like to go for a triple monitor (sim-)setup. For these games I don't need high refresh rate monitors, but I'll use the middle one for gaming. Also wouldn't like to downscale the center one while gaming on all 3 monitors or have mismatched monitors. For the center one I would have chosen the Msi MAG 274 QRF-QD. With the current market here in Austria in mind, this is the best center monitor in the 400-600$ price range. Also recommended by HardwareUnboxed and good ratings from Rtings. As I don't need such good displays for 2nd and 3rd monitor and won't be able to run them on 165Hz either, buying 3 of this one would be a waste of money. There is one monitor I found that's matching in appearance and is a lot cheaper at around 270$, the Msi MAG 274R. The problem with this one is it's only 1080p, so I would have to downscale in any Sim. My question would be: Does anyone know of another MSI-Monitor that's matching in appearance and is cheaper than the 274 QRF-QD, even better with the same resolution? Maybe there is a monitor in the same price range from another brand with a matching, cheaper option anyone knows about. I appreciate anyone who reads through this essay and can give me some help. Sorry for any bad English that might be in there. David

I 'm planning to buy a series x and sense I've always wanted to record. And I know nothing about this.I can't use twitch because the people I play with just won't change their settings. So I have a couple of questions.Do i need a capture card? And If I do what is the best? How do I store the video? Edit:sense their was confusion about my post let me explain some things.yes I'm going to buy a series x.People would have to include their audio in party chat and the default settings don't allow that. That's why people have to change their settings. And I'm recording to upload on YouTube. And the recording feature on the new Xbox does not include party chat like the PlayStation 5,

Hi guys, I had to do some basic modding to my GPU 3060 Ti Aorus Gigabyte card. The original fans are not working one started failing as the card has triple fans. I then saw my temps was bad so I decided to take on the challenge, as there's no water blocks or official custom coolers. ATM I zip-tied normal corsair case fans to the heatsink. Atm my temps are avg 24-36° idle while gaming hits 57-68° but need to run a test where I play over 4-5 hours see if temps go up. I did run a test in FurMark max temps was 69° but I only did for 5min. I need to run a more intensive testing to ensure I'm not killing my card as so far I only did basic test runs I spent a lot and only had for very small amount of time. Anyone here know what advance software I can run in background, mainly for temps so I have log files, that I can save after me playing a game as normal. If someone who's experienced can check them out as well when I put them up, that be super helpful as I'm just your average guy who just mods.

Hello, I am planning on buying a Palit GTX 1080 Gamerock USED in Russia at around 270$. I think its a good price. I could look at the card and run some tests, what are your recomendations? What should I check, what bechmarks to run and is it a good idea in general to buy used 1080 card. What to look at when I am in person? He said that the sticker seals are intact, it was never fixed or opened up. Lower I'll provide some pictures

Hi there! After some research on cheap android phones, I’ve shortlisted Samsung Galaxy A21s and Nokia 5.3. But both of them look really similar on paper and most of the reviews are generally positive towards both of them. So, I'm torn on my decision, would love to hear what you guys have to say. Also, do any of you guys have personal experience with either of the phones? If so, how is the experience? Greatly appreciate you guys taking time to help me. Thank you!

My PC Specs are - CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 GPU - GTX 1660TI MOBO- MSI B450 PRO VDH PLUS RAM- Kingston 8gb 2400mhz ram (2x4) HDD - 1TB WD Purple @5400rpm (wdc wd10PURZ-85U8XYO) SSD - ADATA 120gb ( on which I have my windows installed) PSU - Antec 500W So, I was playing zero horizon dawn complete edition on my pc the other day and I used all high, medium and console setting but in each one of them, my games was stuttering when I used to enter a new location. For a few seconds it used to be very laggy then after some time it gets back to normal and I was getting about 55-75 fps average on the game at high settings. I think it is due to 2 factors my 8GB ram or my slow HDD which is 5400 rpm only. I am thinking about what should I upgrade because I like playing games like these and I am thinking to play cyberpunk 2077. I don't want to go through this horrible experience again but I am limited on budget and can only upgrade one component as of now either a 250GB SSD or 8GB 3000mhz ram. If you think these both components are what causing the issue please tell me which one should I upgrade to first to have the most impact because I can do only one at this time and the other will require at least 6 months to upgrade. Or if you think it is due to any other reason please let me know. I played RDR2 also but I never faced such an issue of having lag when visiting a new place in-game or even lag in the game. Please guide me thank you. I am considering these for the upgrades - RAM- Adata XPG 3000mhz Ram SSD 240GB - Crucial SSD WD Green SSD Kingston SSD

I've recently upgraded my system from the included cpu cooler to a 'used' Aio cooler. Followed all the instructions given, even followed a YouTube video for reference. The system boots up as intended, however the cooler appears to be making an unpleasant noise. I've checked the fans for obstructions. Powered the fans independently to deduce if they were casing the noise, yet no luck. I'm coming to the realisation it could be a faulty pump. Ps: the thermals aren't the best when in the bios. Any ideas? I've posted the relevant video/picture to this problem. 20230303_092647.mp4

I am looking to build a second-hand gaming pc on the budget and after looking for awhile I have cut my choices to those two prebuilds https://www.olx.bg/ad/fujitsu-esprimo-d757-e90-6th-gen-intel-core-i5-i5-6500-4-gb-CID632-ID87I71.html#0a0e13f6ad 145-USD i5-6500 4gb ddr4 https://www.olx.bg/ad/kompyutr-dell-optiplex-3020-i5-4590-CID632-ID883SI.html#492ae7aeb1 120-USD i5-4590 4gb ddr3 So my question is which one should I chose Both of them need upgrading with at least 4gb of ram, but if I got the old one I would be able to get 4gb for the price difference. The second thing I want to ask is about the GPU if I chose the newer model I would have to go with Low Profile GPU which may not be a problem since either way I am gonna pick a 1050TI This is the cheapest LOW PROFILE 1050TI on the market, but it is slightly bent. The seller claims that it's not a problem and says that he has replaced the thermal paste https://www.olx.bg/ad/gtx-1050ti-4-gb-gddr5-CID632-ID87qUC.html#2559817685 The next cheapest Low Profile GPU costs 45 dollars more. Here are some offers for 1050ti https://www.olx.bg/ad/geforce-gtx-1050ti-kfa2-CID632-ID89j3Z.html#90fce9e25a https://www.olx.bg/ad/prodavam-video-karta-gigabayt-1050ti-4gb-CID632-ID8964w.html#90fce9e25a https://www.olx.bg/ad/gtx-1050-ti-CID632-ID88tOY.html#90fce9e25a https://www.olx.bg/ad/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1050ti-4gb-single-fan-CID632-ID89ekl.html#90fce9e25a

Hello Guys ... I really need an advise, i want to start my study about motherboard specifically the components in charge of taking the voltage provided by the psu and converting it into the appropriate voltage required by the CPU, memories, chipset and other circuits. Should i start from knowing all the electrical units that is present in the motherboard. Should i learn how the converting process work ? What chipset should i study ? Should i start from the history of motherboard ? I'm sorry to many questions. I'm so naive when it comes to electrical circuits i hope someone can help me. Thanks

So I'm planning to buy a 3900X along with UNRAID but I'm not sure if I'll have enough PCI Lanes. (If so please give me recommendations for another CPU if so) GTX 1080 for one Gaming VM RTX 2060/70 for the other VM NVIDIA P2000 (or higher) for Plex Transcoding 5 x 8TB SATA Storage (maybe 4 drives instead idk yet) 1TB NVME M.2 2 USB Controllers or if the Motherboard has enough USB IOMMU Groups I think that's about it The 3900x has 24 lanes, 4 for the chipset though, so 20 usable (This is Gen 4 PCI btw, so i might be able to get away with things in 8x instead, and idk how much the P2000 needs for Plex Transcoding) I can make compromises too
