TL;DR - I am looking for full AMD laptop for general use with coding, modeling and gaming tilt, and wondering why do I not see any new ones. Hello! Long time viewer, first time asker) I was quite blown away by original Zephyrus G14, and I am still thinking about buying 2022 model, with Radeon and great battery life. But after 22 was like a boom in technology (again), we got even better screens, even faster connectivity, even more powerful cooling. And I want to use my new laptop for at least half-a-decade. If all this time I will be longingly looking on cooler laptops that will come after, it won't be a pleasant experience. My original hope was that after AMD explosion tech landscape would calm down a bit and I would have a window of feature-full and future proof laptops, but, as we see, it didn't go anything like that. Most surprising "nothing like that" for me was and still is the fact that there is very little new AMD laptops, compared to Intel powered ones, especially with Radeon on board. None on this CES, pretty much, for example. Despite AMD clearly still being a strong contestant, even against latest Intel chips, so prominently featured on CES. So, what is the deal? Is it an Intel's monopolistic scheme, general manufacturing inertia, something else? Or is it something with my own information bubble? And I will be thankful for alternatives to Zephyrus G14 2022 model. It is quite close to what I would like, but better screen, for example, is obvious plus for a machine not intended to be swapped for another in like a decade.

OK, I am an AS Cambridge student I want to take computer science. I love technology, Learned to code, currently going through cyber security courses, and I even watch tech-related stuff on YouTube as entertainment. All in all, technology is my passion and what my career is 100% going to be based upon. But my parents are forcing me to take chemistry and I would rather study anything else than this extremely dull and unnecessary subject, I can't even go into dept as to how much I personally hate chemistry. My Guardian is saying that you can take computer science as an extra subject. So what happened my mother's brother or my uncle, said that don't take computer science now. He said to take it at university. And when my Guardian got to know. he said I made a terrible mistake. (he is also a computer engineer, and knows I have a lot of passion and interest in information technology, software, and hardware). My counselor said that I need to check specific universities to see if chemistry is necessary for computer engineering. I have an interest in hard and software both. (computer engineering includes both of them). But I prefer software more. My Guardian is also saying you need to do an engineering field he says Computer Science has no scope. I am surprised. But anyways, the main I did was that I told my Uncle about what the counselor said. He said so it might mean that for some universities you might need chemistry. He is a mechanical engineer and is not in the Computer Engineering field. And that was my biggest mistake….., I manually didnt check the universities in my country, and the main criteria. Is Physics, Maths, and Computer Science. but if you take chemistry as a secondary you can apply for it. The problem is, why on God's Earth would I waste my energy in time on a subject I absolutely hate. If I clearly have the option to pursue my goals the way I want to? I don’t know why I agreed to his suggestion that some universities might need chemistry. None do, only Harvard and Oxford need it, I even tried to explain that 70% to 80% of the students who have same passions as me Took Computer Science instead of chemistry. And seriously I am so angry as to how my Uncle is interfering and almost ruining my career. And my mother now is also forcing me to take computer science. I actually took some online tuition classes from my Uncle, and he is funding for extra home tuition for all of my subjects. That is why he is trying to help me out, in which he is clearly failing. I also have some interest in robotics, and my Guardian said. For that you need chemistry. Like if you take chemistry, you can go into both fields and explore. Even though all of my my Father and my Guardian is from my father's Family all their brothers are in IT and software engineer for some stupid reason my Guardian is saying me to go and "atleast try Engineering Field, who knows if you like it" The only Engineer is my Grandfather, and even my father went through this problem when he was my age. He did try as my grandfather said . After trying it for a semester or two (not sure how long) he said "I don't like! it is too difficult for me.". Look my father's money is limited also, I can't also afford to waste money on a field I already know I will not like. My own Father went through this switched to IT and made a successful family. And because of personal family and health issues already my 1 year got wasted. I can't afford to waste more years; on something I will hate in the end. It is a waste of time and money, I need to get through university and to get highly paid Job Asap , to maintain my Fathers wealth. Not waste it... I told my Principle the situation, and she talked called my Uncle, unfortunetly he didn’t attend, (its summer vacation, should I contact her again to talk to him in whatsapp? I have less time left). So instead I said her to talk to my Guardian, and told him that “Your son is week in chemistry and he is finding it tough, its high school chemistry which is even more tough and he will not be able to do it.. You can talk to him in front of me” My Gaurdian me, so what do you want to do in future? I said I want to peruse computer science. You wont be able to go in Computer Engineering, you will only be able to go in Computer Science. (At that time I didn’t check my university criteria from my country.) My guardian is forcing me to do University in my country, they do have some very good education insitituions. But I want to go abroad. My guardian said that you would be better off doing Masters abroad but at least do bachelors in your country, as outside is very expensive and you will have to live alone. My fathers friend lives in America, and my Mothers sister in UK. And my Fathers eldest brother live in Canada Though I haven’t research I know Malaysia is good, has the same degree level of Canada. My mother also motivates me to go abroad as I want to, but long story short. My Guardian left his job and career to take care of me. He was happy living in a rich country. But still left everything for me, as he was very close to my Father. And will leave till I get a stable and have a highly paid Job and a family. So he also said “If you will go abroad, then why did I leave everything” in like a worrying way. He genuinely cares about me helped me out in extremely hard times and we had so many happy memories. But perhaps he can take care of my sisters? I won’t live their forever, I can come back for him. But If I started to like living abroad, he himself lived in UK I could go with him there, and he will be with me. I even told my coordinator the situation even though she gets a little angry easily, though she already somewhat knew as she manages my day to day subject related and academic problem. But God… she is the real hero… My Mom on her way with me to the bank with the receipt for registering three A level subjects, with chemistry instead of computer science. I called my coordinator and requested her to talk to my mother, She said “Its fine, he has home tuition, so he can teach him chemistry” and my coordinator said “How can a person teach all three different subjects?” and that was true, the tutor could barely give me time for each subject, and me being weak in chemistry. I wasn’t even passing my school exams. But sadly my mother hesitated I will personally teach him, and then gave the money for registration. I was just confused as to what I can do in this situation. But as exams were drawing near. My coordinator physically called my mother. They had a fight and threatened that she will kick me out of the collage, if he doesn’t get good grades in maths and physics and ask communicated with Cambridge and withdrawed my registration for Chemistry. Now the problem is this, my tutor is steal teaching me chemistry for October November (I gave AS Physics only in MayJune as my preparation for others wasn’t good). And they still haven’t registered for October November before they register for chemistry again. Would should I do? I still attended computer science classes but for 1 month I didn’t (and left out a lot of chapters, in 1 month they covered so much) My guardian once said that he will talk to my tutor to teach computer science. I will try my best to learn from youtube and stuff, practice pastpapers. My best friend gave me a brilliant suggestion to simply try your best to convince your family to focus on computer science and later give chemistry as a extra subject. Instead of vise-versa. Please guys, I need your help as to how can I convince my family. My Computer Science teacher was suppose to meet my Guardian in meeting to convince him to change my subject, but then it was time to pray, and he went straight home. I will try to call my Teacher and get him into a call. Help me guys.

Hello everyone! I just want to ask some advice about buying laptop. So I'm a novice programmer in needs of new laptop and sometimes I play games like monster hunter or valorant. Which one of these do u guys recommend? HP Omen 15 spec: ryzen 7 4800h + gtx1660ti or MSI GF65 Thin 15 spec: i5 10200h + rtx3060 I don't know the difference of better of CPU and GPU usage so can anyone explain it to me? THANKSS!

Hi, im about to buy my first gaming monitor, but i cannnot decide what to buy, after doing a little reaserch (watching a few youtube videos), and checkin the abalibilitie on my region, i think i have it reducit to two optiones. Either the LG 27GL850 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5Loh7vOcVM) or the ASUS VG27AQ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lGHN5R-ROM) I mostly enjoy campaing games, that run on my pc about 60-80 FPS, and a lot of content consumption (youtube, netflix, etc), and dont know wich monitor will be better sutted for that. Any suggestions/advices will be great if you have any. Thanks

I have a quite old setup that I would like to make a bit more performing. This is not my main pc but due to reasons I will stuck with it for some months. My problem is whether is it worth or not to upgrade the cpu, or the performance difference would not worth the cost. The focus of my upgrade is to make it better handling multitasking: I'm a master degree student and I often find myself with many chrome tabs opened, running codes on statistical softwares (R especially), videocall in the background, working on excel or word files. My goal is to make operation more smooth and making R running my code faster. I do not run any games on this pc. Budget is not big but I really need advices on how should I approach this. Hey, enthusiasts! I've decided to make a build for myself. And I guess I don`t need to tell that this is very thrilling process for me:) Project 207 is my first gaming PC, so I've decided to contact all of you, PROs, to guide me well, so I have the most of my build. I'm going to post photos and all the stuff related to build, so that after anyone can re-use the materials. Challenge here is to find underwater stones and avoid them. F.E: motherboard will not support 2 way SLI for GT1080 or CPU will not support 4 DDR4 channels on 3200 mhz I've started looking into motherboards 2 months ago with 1151 socket. For that time I had a choice of ASUS ROG FORMULA VII. Now, as I will not use watercooling and there is a new release of ROG motherboards - I'm looking for ASUS ROG CODE IX. It supports 64 GB of Ram and they can work on all 3200 mhz! WOW! Aiming at GT1080. I must say that 1080 for me is a really choise for having AWESOME gaming experiencing for at least 2 years. Then I will add one more into SLI, for 2 more years of that red eyes gaming. I'm also planning to do some 3d - and yes, I know that Radeon cards are the way to go for this one, still its for hobby only. For sure this project is not a single buy. I'm going to build it in parts. And thinking how better to do this. Should I buy the video card first? I guess the best way is to create budget for now. I'm aiming at 2-000 $ ASUS ROG CODE-9, Core-i7 (7th gen 1151)+cooler, 64 GB RAM, M2 for OS,1 SSD for storage, GTX-1080, POWER, CASE Tell me if I am missing something Thanks for your time!

Hi, I'm looking for a gaming laptop and after one month of research I'm still torn with many options. So I'm asking for your opinions and suggestions. I'm a casual gamer who doesn't look too much about the performances. So I'm not necessarily looking for the best laptop, just something that will meet my needs. Between, the laptop will be solely for gaming. I decided to treat myself and set a budget of maximum $2300 USA ($3000 CAN). Also, it must be able to deliver in Canada. What I looking for: A laptop with the GTX 10xx Something not too bulky or too heavy. (Each weekend, I will bring it to my boyfriend's house. So I need to be able to walk 30 min with it without breaking my back). Comfortable : Not extremely hot or extremely loud. It can be warm or noisy as long as I don't burn my skin, I can hear the sound with headphones and the computer is safe. For the sound, I not quite picky... my mid-2014 Macbook Pro's fans didn't bother me too much at max. A laptop that can play smoothly Witcher 3 at medium-high settings. Right now, it's my most demanding game. However, I will probably play some AAA games in the future. If possible, something not too flashy (neon colors, angular forms, etc.) If possible, something that will not die after 1-2 years. If possible, a good build quality. Also, I'm not too concerned about: Screen size (as long as it's not too heavy or bulky) Macros (I don't use them) Biezels Ports (as long as there are 2 USB ports) Trackpad LEDS (I do like them, but I will not buy a laptop only it's cool) Matte/Glossy screen Storage (I prefer a lot of storage, but it won't be a deal breaker) SSD or HDD Speakers (most of the time I play with headphones) For now, I found HP Omen, Asus Rog with the GTX1060 or GTX1070, Razer Blade 2016, MSI Ghost/Stealth/Apache, Gigabyte Aero 14, other Gigabyte models, Aorus laptops, etc. I still can't decide which one or find any other better options. I still have 2 months before purchasing, if anything better with be released. I've just bought my rog strix 5700 xt, which is running just fine. i got it for 455 eur and has a 45 eur cashback from asus. However, one day after I receive my 5700 xt, the infamous TUF (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJU8jKIYtS4) has had it's price lowered to 380 eur, along with a 45 eur cashback. This would mean going for a card with utter shit cooling. In total, this would save me 75 eur. shipping the old card back is going to put me back maybe 10 eur. I'm kind of on the edge - i know the TUF's cooling is utter shit. However the chip is still a 5700xt, it can't be *that* bad, can it?

I have upgraded to Ryzen 5 3600 / 1660 Super and unsure which B450 board to go for. Due to location, availability of stock, out of the box Ryzen 3000 support, I'm down to these choices. B450m Pro M2 Max - Php 5,900.00 (120$) B450m Mortar Max - Php 6,500.00 (132$) B450m Bazooka Max Wifi - Php 6,300.00 (128$) B550 boards are crazy expensive 120$~240$, so nope. I'm stuck with 3rd gen ready b450 boards, most retailers can't flash bios. I'm also stuck with MSI brand because other boards are *BUNDLE ONLY*... bundles are more expensive, and often come only with R5 2600.

Hello there! I'm a CG Animation Student, and I plan on upgrading my pc for the school start (this will be my second year btw). I currently have a i5 6400, a GTX 1060 3GB, 16GB of RAM, and a B150M motherboard (I bought this PC in december of 2016, but a the time I didn't know I was going to do CG stuff) (CineBench gave me the wapping result of 490pts ) I plan on selling all the PC except the GPU and the storage, for about 350€ (~400 USD) I was thinking on picking : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7mK9tg Adding the thermal paste and the case, the price reach about 800€ (~930 USD) I plan on overclocking the CPU (@4.1GHz or 4.2, hopping to get more than 1800pts on CineBench) So then comes the questions : Have I made good choices concerning the parts ? What could i change ? Is there parts pretty similar to the one I listed but cheaper ? (i.e. the MDB, the RAM or the PSU) Should i choose another PSU, considering my PC will probably be on all day, sometimes rendering for a long time ? Btw I'm running 2 monitors I will maybe get 2 more 8GB stick of RAM for next year, and upgrade the GPU if needed Thanks in advance

Hello LTT Forum, I don't usually post here, and I don't use very often the forum, but I consider myself a fan of LMG, and since I've seen the fussing about "Nerd Sports", I wanted to wite this to LInus, but then I figured out that probably the forum is a good place to hear also your opinions, and maybe get noticed by Senpai Linus so that he actually reads it. Hi Linus, I've read your response to the post about Nerd Sports and I thought it might be the right time to write this. I saw that you did not only addressed the "Nerd Sports" problem, but also the raising of complaints by viewers on the quality of recent content and therefore I decide to write you this. I apologize in advance if it ends up being a long post. I'm a long-time fan of yours, and of all LMG, and I follow you since garage WAN show days. I have to admit that LTT/TQ/CSF became part of my daily routine, and that I watch your videos unconditionally both on Vessel and YouTube each day, so that I can give you all the more money I can (yes I know, forum subscriptions, t-shirts and stuff, but since I go to university and I don't work I don't have much money) and I stay up until 3-3.30 in the morning to watch the WAN show on twitch (I live in Italy). I'm not saying this to boast, I'm not saying I'm the most hardcore fan, it's just so you know with which part of the audience I fit in, since it's broad. Now that I have expressed my love towards LMG, it is time to talk about what has been going on lately, but first let me say, apologies accepted for the rushing, everyone has busy periods, and let me specify that the purpose of this post is to give future advices, if accepted. In the last month or so, I noticed a different approach of the company to the videos. I love the workshop format, I think it's really interesting, but other videos feels like “filler” videos, which is normal to have since you committed to one release per day, but I feel like they are more frequent than in the past. Obviously, with more time consuming content to produce, and the inability (yet) to expand a day to more than 24h, sometimes you have to cut down on some other videos. Probably my considerations are a little bit too naïve for the internet, but I feel like that most of the complaints under your videos are written because the fan loves your content, and he is afraid that it is becoming more and more “casual”, and let me explain what I mean by that. By no stretch of the imagination 7 gamers 1 tower and projects like that are “casual”, by “casual” I mean videos for casual views, and not the hardcore fans that truly loves tech, and loves even more how you bring tech to YouTube. The fact is that for many LMG fans, or at least for me, is that a Linus Tech Tips video is not only about a product, or about bleeding edge technology, it is also about Linus Media Group, the people that produces the content, with which we have an appointment every day. As I said these words are really naïve, but I think that there is truth at the bottom. People watch you because they like your personalities, otherwise, you wouldn’t have 6-10k people watching you live every week. They could just search tech news on the internet if they were strictly interested in that. After so many touching words, which by the way are referred to all of LMG, not only to Linus or video hosts, here comes my advice: stick to your fans, because they will stick to you. It might seem a sentimental advice, and maybe it is, but even economically speaking, having a lot of people watching one video per month is not like having a fanbase that watches all of your videos everyday for the way YouTube works (or at least for my basic understanding of it) Getting back to the Nerd Sports fact, I’ve really appreciated your response, because it means that you care about your fans. Not the Noctua ones. Well, maybe them too. Sorry for the long post, I hope you will read it at some point I also hope not to have made a lot of errors, since Italians are pretty bad at English. Hello I decided that i will make new topic since on my PSU related one when i posted that question i simply didint got an answer . So i plan to change my case and the air coolin of my system and i need some advices suggestions or simply put examples. For now i got z3 zalman plus black with window (kinda wrecked on top but its k ) and wanna change it for better case so i can install ofc a better air coolin system. For CPU cooler i mostly know which one should i look for but for extra fans i dont what type of fans should i buy , how many. For case i kinda look for z11 from zalman but i dont know if its right choice for that price and if there arent a better cases out there. Sorry if my post gets someone confused by its grammar (propably) mistakes cuz english sometimes aint goin well for me thx for any kind of advice . P.S. dont put ultra large guides becasue i dont like readin them i like too see the examples of cases and how they perform based on somebodys experience...
