So I was scouring eBay for some graphics cards when I came across an AMD v340 engineering sample for like 1500 bucks. What was super cool about this card is that it supported GPU virtualization. Unfortunately its way underpowered for what I need so I looked to see if Nvidia had anything available to pros or enterprise and I found the A6000 that supported their vGPU tech. They claim that with aggregation, the performance increase is close to linear, but I'm not sure if that would apply to something like a game engine that uses gaming drivers. The goal here is to have a dynamic server that can allocate GPU resources on the fly for several tasks, including a kick-ass gaming rig with that aggregated gpu. In principle if it scaled the way that I hope, It would make a single virtualized GPU that is 2x more powerful than a 3090 (the A6000 is like 10% faster I'm pretty sure). Why do I need such power for games? I work in the VR industry and I've been wanting to work with an ultra high fidelity VR game to demo a piece of hardware. Does anyone have experience with vGPUs or testing this kind of aggregation?

Long time viewer, First time poster I got a 3090 at MSRP like 6 months ago and tried to get Ansys to use it for GPU acceration for CFD with my 5950x but Ansys won't take it so I need to figure out a way around since this would help reduce our run time from days to a day. I know A5000/A6000 is about the same as the 3090 is it possible to use my OC bios profile to bios hack to an A5000 so Ansys will use it?

I'm Going to Buy 2x Nvidia Quadro A6000 (For rendering very large scenes) & I'll put them on Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI Motherboard (which has 7x PCIe 4.0 all of them are x16 slots) with RTX A6000 NVLINK. Now I have 2 options to buy the NV link kit from : either 2-slot or 3-slot 2X kit. Questions: 1- Should I put the 2 cards next to each other & buy the 2-slot Kit or leave 1 PCIe slot empty between them & buy the 3-slot Kit ? 2- Would it make difference in Temperature & ventilation or not? 3- does the difference between the 2-slot Kit & the 3-slot Kit affect the transfer speed between the 2 cards (since all PCIe slots are x16)

Capture Card, Audio Interface, Dj Controller With Audio Interface
Pownmonkey posted a topic in Audio
Okay here it goes, I have: -Scarlett 2i2 audio interface -Traktor kontrol S4 MK2 (with audio interface built in) -Razer Ripsaw -Sony A6000 The setup is: Using the S4 as my dj controller for music streaming, I take the Audio main output from the S4 and feed it into the Input from the 2i2. That's for recording the audio into OBS (since obs won't recognise the controller from Native Instruments Natively (see what I did there?)). Then I have my Sony A6000 set on clean HDMI output, taking a Micro HDMI to HDMI to the HDMI IN on the Ripsaw. The ripsaw is connected via USB 3.0 to my pc. I get the video feed, CRISPY AF. And I get the audio feed from the 2i2 into OBS. Here is the problem: When I turn on the video feed in obs the audio from the S4 is stuttering. When I play it through the 2i2 only, (so not using the main output from the S4) there is no problem. I never had this problem when I was using 2 Webcams... Are my USB's saturated? Is there not enough bandwidth? Is it a grounding issue (the camera works on a battery atm). Could it be that the USB controllers are not giving enough power??? I used latencymon, and it showed me (upon opening the A6000 in OBS as a video feed) very high numbers which means stuttering audio... As soon as I disconnect the camera from the capture card (with the capture card still running) it's all fine... Should I buy another capture card? Should I buy a powered USB hub? Should I buy an internal capture card?? Kind of allready tried everything and not really willing to spend more money unless it's really necessary.. Hope some of you techies can help me out here!! Grtz!!! -
I'm a bit confused to my camera right now (sony a6000) since it doesn't running on its maximum potential. On the spec sheet from sony website said that it will record 60fps on 1080p, but mine will only record at 50fps and 1080i. And the option of all the recording mode it's a bit confusing for me. I don't know if this cam is a different type or something or maybe this is my sd card that couldn't handle that much data. Thanks (the picture shown all of the recording mode of my camera, i don't know which one is the best and i couldn't found any 60fps option)

I am new to the photography scene and I was looking for a new camera for around $700USD. The main purposes would be family use, with a bit of sport photography and film making on the side. I identified the Sony Alpha A6000 as a pretty good mirrorless camera due to its compactness and price. The lens i was planning on using was the 55-210mm lens. However, some cameras in the 'compact' and 'bridge' class touched my eye. Would these cameras be better for my use? Cameras being tossed up: - Sony Alpha A6000 (mirrorless, inter-changable lens) - Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II - Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100 (4K video) - Nikon Coolpix P900 (83x Optical Zoom) - Canon PowerShot G9 X - Sony CyberShotDSC-RX100 III If there is another camera (of any type) that you think would suit me, or if you have any specific or general experience with these cameras your help would be much appreciated!

My Dad was talking about getting a macro lens for his camera - Sony a6000- I was wondering if this would be the lens to get and also if it was a good lens. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-SEL30M35-Mount-APS-C-Macro/dp/B0057XC3A0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481303923&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+a6000+macro+lens

Hello. So I am considering buying my first camera, for now I am using the Huawei p20 pro which has really nice camera but I want to step it up a notch with a real camera. I have concluded that either the Sony A6000 or Canon EOS M50 is my best option in my prige range. Both are at 5000 NOK with the kit lense. Done my research on the interweb and I have seen that alot of people still recommed the Sony even though it is 4 years old. Was wondering what you guys and girls would recommend for a beginner. The camera is going to be used.on trips and on work etc.. I need to be able to send the pictures to my phone, but as what I understand both of them ha e the option to do that. I am not a vlogger så 4k is useless for me, 1080p is good enough, if i am gonna film it is gonna be timelapses. Soo help please to decide and advice me. Thank you :)

Hi! I just got a Sony A6000. Might be an older model, but was the only one on sale, and is great for the price. I have the Sony 16-50 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens, and a couple of batteries since the battery life is DREADFUL. a) Does my kit lens give me actual 16-50 or do i have to include the crop factor for APS-C? b) What are some lenses you guys suggest? (Not too expensive) c) I've been considering the SIgma 60mm f/2.8 or the Sony 50mm f/1.8 as my first prime. What would you pick? - Also does the Sigma give you 60mm or 90mm with crop factor? d) Is the Sony 55-210 f/4.5-6.3 a good lens? just for those moments when i need a zoom. e) Can someone explain which lenses I have to consider crop factor for and which ones not to? Yeah, it's a lot of questions at once but I've no idea about E-Mount lenses

Growing up i always had an interest in photography but never took it seriously. In part because i never had any gear, but also because it didn't serve me a purpose. But about 8 months ago I got my Galaxy S9, and was shooting the best shots from anyone i knew. Anyway after quite some phone practice I decided it was time to step up my game. Fortunately, I work for an online electronic retail and wholesale company, so when my boss picked up a couple of "Pro" cameras (the a6000) I was happy to take it off his hands for about $325 new. But as i got hands on with it, my pics were not only not improving but seemed to be getting worse. A few observations i made myself were: #1 I'm a very visual based shooter. Going from a top of the line Qhd oled display, to a clunky mess of whatever they use was nothing short of unbearable. #2 The cameras UI is so clunky compared to my phone that i just cant seem to get anything done. There is no talk of a software update and the phone connectivity is nothing short of useless. Am I wrong in thinking that cameras may be losing to smartphones? Can someone recommend a better camera at a slightly higher price range? Also has anyone ever seen an ND filter for A Galaxy S9?

Hello there, I am soon to buy a Sony Alpha A6000 Mirrorless camera, however, I am just buying the body and I need lenses for it. I am curious whether it is worth buying one of the stock lenses for it or going with a whole host of retro lenses instead. I already have a retro Lens from a Zenit-E SLR camera (The Helios 44-2 58MM prime is the lens I currently have) and will buy a Sony E mount adapter to screw fit m42 lens. I wonder if it is worth buying multiple other retro lenses such as a 30mm prime lens and a 135mm prime lens to go with my current lens. I might even buy a cheap 80-200mm zoom lens on the m42 screw fit as well. Alternatively, I could get one of the stock lenses, this includes the Sony E 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS or the Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS which would both give me more room to do things in some areas whilst less room to try things out in others. The main reason I ask is that I need this for when I go to Canada (I am from the UK) and I want the best possible lens range I can afford. I probably won't go to Canada again for some time hence why I want to be best equipped as possible. My budget is potentially up to £100 for lenses (I am happy buying used hence the retro part), what do you guys suggest? Also is there any other lenses you recommend instead of the ones I have listed? Thanks, BP.

Hi Guys, So I'm looking for a camera in the 500GBP range (probably stretchable up to the 650/700GBP range), primarily for shooting video, but also for the ability to shoot decent stills to beat out my Nexus 6P camera and to get me into the world of digital photography a bit. A lot of the time I will be shooting videos where I need to frame myself, so my requirements in order of priority are: MOST IMPORTANT: Method for framing myself and checking focus. This could come in the form of a flip out screen (must be able to be angled 'selfie' style) with a high enough resolution to be able to check focus from 2 odd metres away (this is probably the tricky part). With any old 180 degree-able screen, checking framing will be easy, no matter the resolution, but for checking focus, it becomes more difficult. Alternatively, WiFi connectivity and an app that lets me adjust focus and start recording in video mode on my phone would be great! However, I have discovered that the Sony cameras, mostly cannot do this. I have also been reminded of the clean mini HDMI out on the A6000. Would this allow me to connect to any old monitor? Hopefully that ramble made sense! Good autofocus. This might sort of contradict the previous requirement, because if I have faith in the autofocus, then the monitoring requirement won't matter! This is one of the main attractions of the A6000. Video capability of 1080p 60FPS minimum (sweet 4K is a great plus for the Pana G7) Reasonably compact. The Sony A6000 size is pretty much perfect, for throwing in my bag, but I'm not opposed to entry level DSLR kinds of things (my dad has a Nikon, so subscribing to that ecosystem could be useful for borrowing lenses and him helping me learn more of the photography side of things). Decent built in audio, or a 3.5mm or other microphone input Customisable buttons Interchangeable lenses for future upgrade(s) to something like a nice prime lens. (my dad has some sweet lenses that I could borrow with an adapter). Thanks about it! Please feel free to ask questions, and thank you very much in advance for lending me your time and help! bchampion96

So I recently bought my self a Sony A6000 DSLR with a kit lens. Before I bought this camera I was bordering this and some canon camera (can't remember which one) and I told my friend who does some professional photography that I was getting the canon. Anyway back to the point as a gift he gave me his Canon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens but as I changed my mind and got the A6000 this prime lens isn't compatible. Anyways I wanted to know if there was some kind of adapter that could convert between the Sony E-Mount(A6000) and The Canon EF mount(50mm prime lens). it needs to be relatively cheap as this isn't a must have but it would just be nice to be able to use this lens otherwise it would be a bit of a waste having such a nice lens just lying around collecting dust. Anyways thanks in advance any help is greatly appreciated!

Disclamer: Camera Semi-Noob. I plan to use this camera mainly for videos and well photos...... (Obviously). I know both take amazing photos so i mainly wanted to ask about. Low light Shooting (Video mainly) Does the A6000 have OIS? Or does it need a lens with it? Which would u recommend and why? Lens recommendations for the a6000? AF on A6000 better? TL;DR: I basically wanted a cheaper, better RX 100 IV (I don't care about the 4k capabilities or slow mo.) This is what i was looking at specifically. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Mirrorless-Digital-Camera-16-50mm/dp/B00I8BICB2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452221131&sr=8-1&keywords=a600+sony
