Title Describes everything. What will give me more performance, specially for gaming? Keep in the mind that I'm going to use it with the upcoming Intel i7 Haswell Processor. My friend has a Single GTX 690 and he plays very well in games such as Modern Warfare 3 & Black Ops II. Will the Double GTX 780 beat him? Info may help: I'm going to use Single Monitor 27".

Has anyone heard anything about a version with more than 3 gbs of vram. From what I have seen it seems as though it won't exist because of the titan.

So yesterday I got my GTX 780 and it was working as expected. But today when I booted up my PC, my 780 was constantly at 862MHz but yesterday it was at 350 something when I wasn't in a game. And when I was in a game it sometimes went over 1GHz, now it doesn't even boost 10MHz above the base clock. Any help is appreciated :)

Hey guys, Sorry if this has been posted and I missed it (I tried searching). I've ordered a reference 780 but I've been reading a lot more about the ACX. I didn't like it to begin with hence going with the reference but it has kind of grown on me and it's not too late for me to change my order. I know EVGA say 15% lower temps but does any one have any real temps for ACX in comparison to the reference? Thanks

Hey guys, this is my first post here at the forums :) So, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. My system specs are: Core i7 3820 (LGA2011) Asus Rampage IV Extreme MSI GTX 680 Twin Frozr III Corsair HX1050 NZXT Switch 810 Those are pretty much the important details you guys need to help me, if not - let me know and I'll post more specs. My question is, should I get a 780 and sell my 680, or should I find a cheap 680 and run SLI. What I'm planning on within a month or so, is to watercool my entire rig. So dual 680 would look cool and all, but is it really worth it considering the extra power it consumes and possible compatibility issues? Also, my usage is gaming and video editing. I don't play a ton of games, I've got like 2-3 games. BF3 and GTA IV. I'm going to buy GTA V and hope to play it all maxed out. I'm a mediaproducer so I do quite a lot of video editing for other companies, so something like CUDA is a thing I utilize a lot when possible. Thanks,

I guess this will be a popular question soon so I might as well make a topic about it to direct people to. It is worth mentioning at the start that anything in this thread applies to the GTX Titan as well as the GTX 780. They require the same amount of cooling. How many rads do you need for a GTX 780? Quite surprisingly in my opinion and contrary to my expectation the GTX 780 draws more power than the GTX 680 and is in line with the GTX Titan in terms of power draw. Hey all, I currently have a EVGA 680 4gb reference card, and with the new arrival I was thinking about getting a 780. I have a friend of mine that would buy my 680 for 350 dollars, and I am wondering if it is a wise decision to go through with it. It seems as though the 780 is quite a good margin better, but I thought i'd get more options on the issue. Thanks in advance.

So I am a huge Total War fan, and I want to play Rome 2 maxed out at 60fps or better (like any gamer would) and I am wondering, GTX 780, or GTX 770? I will probably have a 60Hz monitor @1080p, but keep in mind that Rome 2 is my primary gaming objective, regardless of how well other games perform. I need Rome 2 to be epic! So yeah, what should I go with: GTX 780, or GTX 770?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could clarify for me an issue with GTX 780's and 770's not working properly with some power supplies, apparently because of a lack of amps available on the +12V rail. I heard about it from Logan over at TekSyndicate, but I was hoping that someone could clarify what the exact issue is, and if a PSU like the Corsair TX 650W would be enough to power one of these epic cards. I've just started building these two PCs, and I'm throwing this build log together from a collection of pictures I've taken so far and am now taking as I'm building. I'm also probably going to present this in a terrible format. Both PCs contain: Corsair 350D Z87 Gryphon i7-4770K H100i 120GB Samsung 840 Pro 2x 320 WD Scorpio Black in RAID 0 Generic Silverstone slim, slot loading DVD combo drive Bunches of Corsair SP-120 Power edition fans (3 pin on Scott-PC, PWM on Joshua-PC) Corsair AX 860i The differences: Joshua-PC: 2x XFX 7970 GHz 32GB (8x4) Crucial Ballistix memory (intentions of setting to 1866MHz C10) Scott-PC: Galaxy GTX 780 3GB 32GB (8x4) Kingston Blu memory (intentions of setting to 1866MHz C10) This stuff has been sitting on the table for some time. Got these on Sunday. $369 on the sticker, $279 at the register: This is for Scott-PC, but they are pretty similar, so I don't know if I'll post all of the "building" parts for both PC. This Silverstone bay device is kinda neat, but it makes cable management a bit difficult. (Not that I know anything about that anyway) And it looks okay in the case. Picking up the Gryphons on Saturday, before Haswell launch. Eh, I think it looks pretty okay. You can see the trouble caused by the Silverstone bay device, but I still like it. Had a bit of a snag with the H100i: The anchor sticks out past the board, so there would be play, even when tightened. Ran to Lowe's to fix it: Not it's ready just to wait for the 4770K tomorrow and the GTX 780, which should be arriving Tuesday! Round 2! On to Joshua-PC below! This PC will have 2 Dell U2713HMs, also. Got that 2.5" cage off. It was so easy, I felt stupid for not getting the other. Maybe put the H100i on the front so I can do push/pull? Maybe it'll look dumb. That's okay. Finally going to lay down for bed. It's 3AM and I have to get up to get in line at Micro Center in the morning for the CPUs. Finishing tomorrow. Front mounted the H100i. Looks different, but I like it. These 7970s are kinda gorgeous. Joshua-PC is finished! I think. Something probably isn't correct and I'll plug it up and it won't work. That's okay. I like to troubleshoot. Probably. Adding more as I go. I'll also get these images rotated properly a bit later.

UNBOXING INTRODUCTION The GTX 780 from NVIDIA brings the technology and honestly most of the performance from the GTX Titan to the "numbered" series. In no particular order, here are the things I think are most important and special about this card. GPU Boost 2.0 I covered this in detail in my GTX Titan overclocking guide, so I'm not going to say too much other than that it's way better than GPU Boost 1.0. You can set a target clock speed, an allowed voltage, and a target temperature and the graphics card basically does the work for you. GeForce Experience and ShadowPlay The GeForce Experience, which keeps your graphics drivers up to date and recommends settings to run your games at for the most optimal possible experience is now out of BETA. NVIDIA is not only leading the charge here on helping gamers get the most out of the expensive hardware they just bought, but they are also looking to continue to improve the services offered by adding something called ShadowPlay, which is going to make use of the onboard H.264 encoding hardware in the graphics chip to record gameplay videos. The system overhead will much lower than solutions like FRAPS and the files will be compressed on the fly making them much smaller. Not only that, but NVIDIA is claiming only about a 5% performance hit to just have it running all the time. You can set a buffer time up to 20 minutes, which will allow you to "set & forget" then when something epic happens, go back and retrieve it. Very cool. Quiet Operation The GTX 780 has the dubious honour of following the GTX Titan, which was an ambitious card when it came to thermals and acoustics. It achieved its goal of super quiet operation while keeping thermals under control largely due to GPU Boost 2.0. The good news is the 780 has that too and it also has a new fan profile that aims to prevent unnecessary ramping up and down of the fan making for a less distracting gaming performance. It's noticeable and it works. A Smooth Multi-GPU Experience Multi-GPU micro stuttering and performance anomalies have always been the elephant in the room for these solutions, and it's for that reason that people like the one writing this article (that's me) usually recommend to use a single card solution whenever possible. Lately, however, there's been a lot of evidence coming to light that suggets that NVIDIA's SLI experience comes much closer to the single GPU user experience than the competition. Something to think about if you view SLI as an upgrade path. Performance TLDR: It's really really fast. Here's our test bed: I'll let the graphs and the videos do the talking here. First 1080p And now 2560x1440 Conclusion It's been a while since I could recommend a GTX *80 card. 480 & 470, 580 & 570, and 680 & 660 Ti all performed so close that it was hard to recommend the higher end card. Now I think we're about to see a big change. GTX 780 due to its "Titan DNA" dominates the single GPU performance charts and from a price to performance ratio actually makes much more sense than a GTX Titan. I guess all that remains to be seen is how the rest of the GTX 700 series gets fleshed out by NVIDIA and whether that recommendation remains in the coming weeks and months...
