Budget (including currency): 900 $US Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly 1440p gaming on high or mid Other details: Switching over from console, just want something new and stable. Don't need any peripherals. I've been watching videos and switching parts over the last few days, I would really like some input on the build. And if possible, would like to know if I can get another mobo under 100 that will work out of the box with the ryzen 5 3600, just really don't want to go over the 900 budget, if not, that's fine. Things I would like to change: cheaper mobo and psu, ssd with cache (I was told the one I listed isn't much faster than a hdd, planning on installing the os there and maybe one of the next gen games or two) Please help this simple new member of the pc builders. Heyho I just moved and now I am trying to build a new mini ITX gaming pc. I want mini ITX because I never had it and I always wanted a small build. My original budget was 700 plus a monitor but then I bumped it to 800 plus monitor so I could fit a bit more power in there. Here is a pcpartpicker link: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/yDJkjc Parts CPU: Intel Core I5 6500 CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i 33.8 CFM GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6GB Storage 1: A -Data Premier SP550 M.2-2280 SSD Storage 2: Hitachi Ultrastart 1TB 7200RPM HDD MOBO: MSI H110I Pro Mini ITX PSU: Silverstone SFX Fuly modular RAM: Avexir Core 2x8 GB CASE: Silverstone Sugo SG13B Monitor: AOC i2369V 23.0" 60Hz If there is anything yo would change then please tell me! I would still like to shave up the price if possible but I like how the build turned out so far. I would love to have an all SSD build but I need more then 240GB of storage. I was thinking of putting another 2.5" drive instead of the HDD but it's too expensive. Maybe I'll skip the HDD for now and just buy an SSD once this one fills up. Thanks for the help!

If anyone of you owns a Dark Base Pro 900, I'd appreciate some info on it's two LED strips? From what I've seen in the tons of reviews, when connected to the controller, they can switch between 5 colors and the off state. Can they actually be connected to the motherboard or a separate controller to produce different colors or color combinations?

Budget (including currency): My budget for this build is 900 Euro's. Maybe a little more, maybe little less. 900 Euro's is ~1050 USD Country: The Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Will be used for a few hours gaming a day and maybe low end streaming. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm starting new. Haven't build a pc ever. I want to use a 144hz with it at 1080p. So if most games like Minecraft, Cs:go and Warzone can get that 144hz it would be nice. I already have peripherals. Also I do have made a list by my own with components I think could fit in this build. The exact components I've chosen you can see in the file I uploaded with this.

Hello. I just bought a new Dark Base Pro 900 case and I'm trying to invert the door. The problem is that I don't know how to put the piece from the image below to the other side. Without it, the door will not stay closed. Did anyone try to do this? I'd appreciate some help.

So this isn't exactly a build log I guess, but here is what I have done so far. I will say now that I am not the most handy person out there. I wanted to do a custom loops into my Corsair 780T, so I bought all the parts for it. Four radiators (120 bottom, 140 rear, 280 top, 280 front) and they all fit into the massive case. However, my new Asus Strix 1080 has coil whine, and I guess I am sensitive to coil whine, as it seems to be normal with this card as I went out and bought a second Strix 1080 and it has the same whine. So! I then decided I would do this in the new Dark Base Pro 900, since it has noise dampening with the tempered glass, it should really block out the whine. I didn't want to waste any radiators, so I tried to get them all in, the 140 will not go in at the rear due to there being no clearance for fittings when top radiator is installed. But the 120 went in, and of course the two 280s. Because the top radiator mount is not offset, the motherboard tray had to be moved down to lowest position for clearance. This meant that the PSU had to be moved forward to make clearance for the pci slot cover section that protrudes into the case. Which made mounting the pump difficult. I ended up zip tying it to the vents at the bottom with some rubber washers to decouple it. Issues: -Nowhere to mount SSDs!! I know I could do something with those holes and slots where the hard drive cages are normally installed, I just don't know what or how. -Lighting. I don't see any good place to install lighting on this case. There just isn't a spot where the light will illuminate the insides evenly. I have a picture of my 780T with white LEDs below. And it looks even, I'm not sure how I will do that here.

I'm looking for a surge protector to plug my pc into. It has an 850 watt power supply and I was wondering what power bar / surge protector I should get. I'm not sure what the specs are for these surge protectors (like this one supports up to 700w and stuff like that) so could someone explain all this to me? Thanks

Problem is: I am pretty new to this topic and can't pick the right choices which work the best for me. Now I am asking you guys to help me build a good and powerful gaming PC around 900€. The budget is just for the hardware and the case. I already got a mouse, keyboard, headset and monitor! What I would like to see in that build (if possible) is : - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/980 - INTEL i5 or i7 processor I hope you can help me! Hello everyone, this is my first time on the forum although I've been watching Linus for around 2 years now. As you can see, I'm opting for a black and white themed pc, very clean and symplistic. My budget is about 900-950$. In the real build there will also be a couple of modular sleeved cables in white to fit the color theme. In my country, The Netherlands, the whole system costs €933,-. In the future, I want to upgrade to two-way GTX 960 SLI, extra HDD space and another 8gb's of RAM. Let me know what you think about the parts. I'm open for recommendations.

Im sure that this subject is being beat to death these days but with the holiday season quickly approaching and sales likely to come with it, I'm very much at a loss as to what I should do. Currently, I'm using an intel 4790k @ 4.6GHz in an ASUS Hero VII motherboard, a corsair H100i, 16GB of 2133 RAM, a samsung SSD boot drive, a 1TB 7200rpm HHD, an EVGA P2 850 power supply, a corsair 750D case, and an OEM version GTX 660 that came with the Dell XPS 8500 that initially got me into computers a few years ago. I'd like to upgrade my GPU becuase it has been showing its age recently as the software around it continues to advance. I know that any one of the 900 series GPU's would be a massive upgrade to my 660 (with it's 1.5Gb of VRAM, low CUDA core count, and slow core clock) but it's now been over a year since the 980 and 970 have launched so I expect Pascal to launch within the next 3-9 months. What do I do? Get a 900 series card now or try and milk out as much as I can from the 660 waiting for pascal - however long that may be? Thanks!

Here I have some specs you may want to take a base from. What will you be doing with this PC? I will play minecraft, GTAV some mmos but ill use it more for editing audio and videos. I need it to be powerful but quiet. What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes? 950 When do you plan on building/buying the PC? I'm planning to buy it in October. What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? The PC and all of it components(not keyboard either mice) Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? USA I have p.o box Will you be overclocking? Nope. Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? A lot of USB ports Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components? I want this: Corsair450D Do you need a copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference for one or the other?windows 8.1 is fine

So in the classifieds I found this http://linustechtips.com/main/classifieds/item/1740-evga-gtx-750-ti-2gb/and it seems like a pretty good deal. I have long been interested in the shield portable or maybe even shield tablet for game streaming but right now I have a Radeon 7770 so I can't use that feature if i were to buy one. I've been looking for a new graphics card for a little bit and although I have the money to buy a 970 or something I would really rather not. On my current 7770 I have to play some of my games at 720p which is a little bit annoying and the 750ti seems like it could push 1080p a lot better than my card considering my 7770 only has 1gb of Vram. I know the 750ti is no massive leap in performance over my 7770 but it seems like if I could sell my 7770 for like $55-ish dollars then the 750ti would be worth it. The ability to game stream, use Shadow Play, and the whole Geforce experience are other pretty big factors making me want to get this card. I would wait for the 300 series to come out but it seems like when those cards come out there will be no $100 card that can get a very decent performance. It's not like the 750ti has to last me forever either because I think it's wiser (and more fun) to just buy modern lower end cards rather than buy two 980s and expect them to last me 5 years. So ya I guess all i'm really asking is if you think $100 for a 750ti is a good deal and if you think I could sell my Asus Radeon 7770 for $55-ish. Thanks.

Hey guys, I've been using a Roccat Taito KingSize 3mm for my Kone XTD for a year now and I started thinking about a "full desk" mousepad since I want my keyboard (CM Storm QF U - a full size mech) on it as well. Now the thing is that I've had some "normal" mousepads before and the Taito was especially good and I don't want to go back to a "worse" performing pad. So any ideas on pads that are about ~900x450x3mm, just plain black, have a cloth surface and are pretty much equal in quality to the Taito? So far I've got: Corsair MM200 Extended (yeah its only 300mm in height but therefore only got very good reviews) Mionix Sargas 900 Akasa Venom XXL (black version) Because of colors the "OZONE Groundlevel EVO" and "Razer Goliathus" drop out. Also "XTracPads Ripper XXL" and the one from "OverClockers UK" aren't in the list because I can't get them here in Germany without paying a huge extra on shipping and customs. Ah yeah I game on rather low to medium speeds (2000-2600dpi & no acceleration), not sure if I'd prefer extra friction or not. So I'll leave that one up to you guys. Only reference I have are the Sense and Taito by Roccat which I both like (prefer Taito) Thanks in advance! Best regards, Alex | Trek

I want a case that matches my blue theme (black is ok). I also want it under CAN$140 maximum. I would still prefer a case that is less than $120. I would also like alternatives. I really liked the NZXT Phantom 410, but I wanted my 5.25" Drive Bays easily accessible (you have to open a panel to see the Drive Bays). The C70 is a bit out of my price range, but I included it. Corsair Vengeance C70: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139013 Bitfenix Ronin: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811345037 Antec Nine Hundred: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021 My build is basically a GTX 960 with either a ASRock, Asus or MSI motherboard. I also have blue Corsair Vengeance 2x4 GB DDR3 1600 memory.

I've always loved the quality control of MSI. They've made not only some of the best looking motherboards and graphics cards, but also some of the best preforming. I think we should continue this to the next generation of the Nvidia 900 series. I wanted to get a GTX 970 that would fit in my case, but realized that their GTX 970 is a tad-bit too large. Like I said, I love the quality control of MSI, and would just love the see smaller cards produced with this same quality come to market. Anyways, if you want to sign the petition (and please do) just click here: https://www.change.org/p/micro-star-international-xiang-xu-create-a-mini-itx-version-of-the-gtx-970-and-gtx-980/ Thanks for your consideration!
