Hello, this might be a bit of a long shot but I am planning on building a PC that will be partially used for virtualization testing. I plan on getting the new Ryzen 9, but due to type of applications, I would require as much RAM as possible, preferably 256GB. Would this be possible with AM4 board? Threadripper is sadly out of budget. Thank you.

I am planning on upgrading my system's storage, however I have came to I dilemma. With my budget of £180-£200 I can not find two of the same model SSD with 500MB/s+ sequential read and write, in both 240/256GB and 480GB capacity. So I am here to ask whether it is worth using two different branded Solid State Drives to serve separate purposes; I am planning on purchasing the Drevo X1 Pro 256GB and the SanDisk Ultra II 480GB. Do you believe these would work well together? Or do you have any recommendations for my purchasing?

I am looking at purchasing a Patriot Spark 256GB SSD. I was wondering if anyone has one or has used one and could give some insight into if it's worth getting, so information like are the read/write speeds what they say they are and the big one being what the lifespan is like with it. Any suggestions to a similar size and priced SSD would be welcomed. I live in England so the Patriot is around 78 pounds including shipping.

So basically as the title says I'm looking for an android phone with 256 GB internal storage and a decent quality OLED display. I'm currently on the Samsung A50 with 6 GB RAM/ 128 GB and I might upgrade to this phone (if it's faster) or else use it as a secondary phone. Other Requirements: USB-C charging (faster is better) Good software support Same or Better perfomance than the A50 Big Battery at least 4000mah Thanks in advance you wonderful human being

Hey all, the other day I was looking into buying a tablet for media consumption etc and all the decent ones were like $200+, after browsing eBay I found SP3s for 300 and up. Found one in good condition that looked like it had lost power during an updating and was no longer booting to Win10, this one was also the right model with an i5, 8gb of ram and the 256gb ssd. I bought it for under 300 and reinstalled Windows and viola it works! Now after using it for a few weeks I have found the ups and the downs. The issues so far are watching Youtub KILLS my CPU, 1440p content uses 50% - 60% and 80% - 90% on 4k content. Now the worst is when the fan goes biserk on 1080p content which is the majority of Youtube that I watch, there are just random times where it ramps up aswell for no real reason. My question is if there is a fix for this or is it just the old 4300u not liking life anymore? Also is it worth trying to open it up and swap out the thermal compound/clean it? I have heard some good things about the SP4s obeing on skylake architecture, would it be worth switching over to a SP4 for better cooling and performance?

Greetings! I'll be finally getting an SSD next month and I've been looking at the Samsung 850 Evo 500GB, at 150€ ($185). I have, however, been wondering if 256GB would be enough, considering it'd cost 50 bucks less. I will use it to install Windows 10, Adobe software such as Photoshop and Premiere (in which I'll be rendering videos at 1080p60 into the SSD, though I will move them into a 1TB HDD afterwards), along with Steam and Battle.net. Some games I play at the moment are Overwatch, VRChat, Modded Skyrim and, although rarely, League of Legends and Elder Scrolls Online. Besides these I also like to occasionally hunt for games at GameJolt and get them too, though those aren't usually very heavy files. Would the 256GB version be enough or should I consider 500GB instead? Thank you!

Just found this little gem on amazon and it has to be one of the worst fake flash media attempted coverups I have ever seen. Here are a few quotes from the listing: "16gb upgraded to 256GB USB 2.0 flash drive. Hot plug and play. Functions like another hard drive." "Using the H2testw can destroy the flash drive memory causing the software test to show that the flash drive is counterfeit or fake" Yep, totally a real drive! Just thought this was pretty funny.

While the specs on the fairly newly-released Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge reveal a microSD card slot capable of supporting up to an impressive 200GB microSDXC behemoth of a flash card, Samsung's own website seems to hint that the 256GB microSDXC, Evo Select, Class UHI-3 card is also supported on the S7/S7Edge. See the "*" footnote on the "See More Features" section of the 256GB card at: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage/MB-MC256DA/AM The footnote reads, "Test Device: Samsung Galaxy S7. The above results are from internal tests with the average-actual data store capacity (93.1% of the labeled capacity). The results may vary based on testing conditions and host devices. " This note would indicate that the phone recognizes memory in excess of the 200GB stated limit. 93.1% of 256GB is about 238.4GB But if we take a deeper dive the 93.1% capacity is easily explained by the differences in Decimal and binary Gigabytes. Storage manufacturers advertised capacity and and the capacity seen by operating systems and how they look at data is the missing 6.9%. The card is 256,000,000,000 bytes storage capacity. That's 256 Decimal gigabytes. A Decimal Gigabyte is 1000X1000X1000 or 1,000,000,000 bytes. Operating systems look at storage in binary-gigabytes or Gibibytes. A Gibibyte is 1024X1024X1024 or 1,073,741,824 Bytes. Unfortunately these two terms are often simply abbreviated to GB, which causes panic, confusion and anger when you think, "I didn't get all the storage space the SD card claimed it had!!" But it is there. If we divide 256,000,000,000 by 1,073,741,824 we get 238.418 Gibibytes or about 93.1% the "stated" capacity. The OS is programmed in binary and will see and report capacity in GiBibytes. The storage manufacturer reports the capacity in Decimal Gigabytes to make it look larger and more appealing to the customer. In short, the implication is that the phone recognizes the full 256 Gigabytes (AKA 238.418 Gibibytes) ....Freakin' AWESOME!!! PLEASE NOTE: I haven't personally tested this. I don't have the 256GB microSDXC UHS-I3 card to go in my S7 Edge or the US$199 to buy one. Maybe Linus or Luke may want to give that a try if they still have a functioning Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge.

The Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive 256GB version is on sale for $54.99 and the 128GB version is on sale for 24.99 on Bestbuy's website. I ended up picking the 128gb for now since the 256 is a bit more than double. This is a pretty good deal. I paid $24.99 for the 64GB version during black friday. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-ultra-256gb-usb-3-0-type-a-flash-drive-black/9208267.p?id=1219701102402&skuId=9208267

hey guys, I am about to choose between two SSDs arc 100(240GB) and mx100(256BG). Will use it for dual booting so lets assume it will be mostly used for reads. mx100 = £72 Arc 100 = £60 are the 12 pounds worth it for the better performance? I'd really like some opinions(or just the choice)

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to buy a 250GB 840 EVO for ~$100 or maybe less? I am willing to ship the product in Canada or the US. If some one is willing to buy I will put it up in the classifieds. The drive is in perfect condition, all that was on it was Battlefield 3/4, The Witcher 3 and Call of Duty: Black OPS which will be erased off. It will come in the original box with the manual, CD and the stickers.

It seems Asus is not satisfied with the 128GB version of the Zenfone 2, as they have just revealed a 256GB version in a media event in Brazil, called "Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special edition". The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition in Textured Black (L) and Illusion White ® This special edition comes with an exclusive version of racing game Asphalt 8, and two new back covers, which are Textured Black with red, and Illusion White with red accents. Besides the increased storage capacity and "premium-crafted polygonal design" back-cover, this Zenfone 2 is the same as the other 4GB ram versions in terms of spec, Intel Atom Z3580, 4GB of ram,1080p IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3, Micro-SD card slot, Dual-Sim support, and etc. Pricing is still unknown, and this phone will be available in Brazil next month, although it is unknown whether this version of the Zenfone 2 will be available in other countries. <joking>Asus, where is the 1TB version?</joking> http://www.phonearena.com/news/Asus-ZenFone-2-Deluxe-Special-Edition-unveiled-in-Brazil-packed-with-256GB-of-internal-storage_id72936 http://www.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_2_deluxe_special_edition_was_showcased_in_brazil_with_a_whopping_256gb_onboard_storage-news-13659.php

Currently looking at these SSDs: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB OCZ Arc 100 240GB Adata SP900 256GB Crucial MX200 256GB Crucial BX100 256GB Patriot Blaze 240GB PNY XLR8 240GB Wondering what makes this SSD better than the other SSDs. Or if there's any other good 240/250/256GB SSDs that are around 70-120 USD range. Need a upgrade from my Intel X-25M 160GB SSD anyway... Can't really live with these speeds....

I've always wanted to upgrade my laptop with an SSD and this seems like a good a time as any. So an online shop in my country is doing a sale on their M550 line, so the M550 256GB costs €99,90 and the MX100 256GB is €99,99(in a different, but also reliable webstore) From what I can find the M550 lineup is a more enthousiast line, but when it comes to real benchmarks, the MX100 is equivalent most of the time. Is there any real advantage to go with the M550 at the same price point? edit: I'm not in a rush, should I wait on a sale on the MX100?

Hi, first post here... There are 2 micro SD cards listed on eBay as of 5/3/2015 which claim to be SandDisk Ultra/Extreme Pro 256GB. Sandisk ultra micro sdxc ush-1 card 48 mb/s 256 gb class 10 full hd video w/adp. SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I 256 GB - SDXC Card Edit: Ignore this one, the listing has way too many discrepancies. However SanDisk's largest sd card listed on their website is 200GB not 256GB. Quote from: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/03/03/sandisk_launches_200gb_microsd_card/ 'the only reason this is a 200GB device and not 256GB is that at 15nm, the die had reached the maximum size which could be squeezed into the microSD form factor to the specifications and still allow space for SanDisk’s control electronics...' So my question is, are these cards real?

HI everyone, Just trying to finalise a new build that'll be used for Flight Sim which I currently have installed on my current PC on a Samsung 840pro 250gb (or is it a 256gb) ssd which I will be re-installing anyway but have been doing a little 'digging' around the internet and the mobo I am going with, the Asus Z97-A has the new (well to me) M.2 connector on it so seen as the ADATA USA Premier Pro SP900 256GB M.2 2280 is US$135 (AU$167 inc postage from Amazon) and the Samsung 840 Evo 250gb is AU$135 was wondering if it would be better going the M.2 route instead. it will be for the boot drive. Any advice appriciated

While I do realize that flash drives claiming to hold a large amount of data can often be fakes, I was wondering if any of the following were indeed legitimate, and how to determine if they are legit or not. Here's the first one, this seller seems to be reliable at first sight by looking at the 98.6 positive rating. http://www.ebay.com/itm/256G-256GB-Leather-USB2-0-Flash-Pen-Drive-Memory-Stick-U-Disk-Thumb-Storage-Gift-/331328381210 Also note that this is being sold from a separate retailer with the same specifications: http://www.amazon.com/256GB-Leather-Memory-Storage-Device/dp/B00PMV1THK/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1416272093&sr=8-28&keywords=256gb+thumb+drive And then there's this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/256G-256GB-Leather-USB2-0-Flash-Pen-Drive-Memory-Stick-U-Disk-Thumb-Storage-Gift-/331328381210 This one seems fake because of the very generic style, but the specifications are more complete along with the satisfaction rate being high: http://www.ebay.com/itm/256GB-SWIVEL-USB-2-0-FLASH-DRIVE-MEMORY-STICK-WITH-KEY-RING-/301398122356 And finally this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-256GB-USB-FLASH-DRIVE-2-0-Hi-Speed-us-Seller-Same-Day-Shipping-free-Return-/251709339177 So are any of these drives legitimate? While I am looking for a decent deal, I would love to not be scammed, so any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.
