Hello everyone, im new here and i hope i can ask more questions like this itf, Now, my pc build is i3 8100 with gtx 1060 gb, 16gb ram and a rather cheap mobo which is gigabyte ga h110m ds2. so the choices are rather quite bottleneck and because I'm only upgrading one component. Keep in mind that the prices may be different in your country, my first pick is upgrading my cpu with i7 9700k (100% bottleneck in bottleneck calculator) or upgrading my gpu to 2060 or some cheap secondhand 1080ti. But I'm afraid it doesnt support because of my mobo if i choose i7 one. (ps: i know bottleneck calculator isn't too accurate but at least i can imagine the situations first) sorry if this question is kinda funny because im still noob in this whole pc specs thing. I'm looking forward to the replies, thanks for reading :)

Hi guys, My system is supported by a 400W PSU and consists of the following: Ryzen 5 3400G - TDP 65W Three case fans, two M.2 SSD and 2 RAMs on motherboard (Gigabyte Aorus Pro) NO VGA yet NO plan to use more storage (SSD&HDD) I plan to buy the "GIGABYTE Radeon™ RX 570 Gaming 4G" (its source page recommends a 450W PSU) https://www.gigabyte.com/vn/Graphics-Card/GV-RX570GAMING-4GD/sp#sp My question is: Do I really need to buy a better PSU before I add this VGA? Coz my power consumption seems so low If this PSU can actually support the VGA, how many SATA3 SSDs can I add before the power supply becomes insufficient? Do all 6+2 pin connector of all PSU provide the same amount of power? Or I need to check what PSU fits with what VGA first? Many thanks in advance.

Hey, I've got a CRT TV that only has Composite, Component, and S-video, and I have a PC from the same era that only has VGA, sticking a GPU in there isn't viable, as it only has PCI slots and is SFF, is there a way to adapt VGA to Component without buying an adapter?

Hi everybody. I have recently finished a new mini-itx build (see parts below), but I have some problems with it. I can't get a post. When looking at the motherboard I can see that the white Q-LED is on. Which in the manual states that it's a VGA problem. It is going yellow (DRAM), red (CPU) and then solid white (VGA). All fans are running and it seems like the system is running fine. I have tried to change the video card to another (identical) card with the same result. I have a RTX 2070, but I can't fit it in the case because it's too wide so it can't fit. I checked all the cables both power and all the others. I have tried both DVI output on the cards (also the other card), and I get the same result - also tried different ports on the monitor. No post - white QLED. I was worried that it might be a power problem, so I disconnected all the SATA and tried again, but with the same issue. Have also tried to take one of the memory sticks out, and only booting with one. The WD blue is mounted on the back, which results in that the PCIe is only running x8 instead of x16. But to my knowledge this should not be a problem? To my knowledge the motherboard should be ready for the 2600X - the packages says 2000 and 3000 series ready. It consist of the following parts: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/z64Fp8 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B450-I Gaming Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate Constellation ES.3 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Storage: Seagate Constellation ES.3 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2 GB Video Card Case: Fractal Design Core 500 Mini ITX Desktop Case Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA GA 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Optical Drive: Asus BW-16D1HT Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer There is no OS on it so far. I am just trying to get into the BIOS. Can anybody help me with this? Best regards Noego

Sup guys, I built my System back in 2013-2014 i believe for a pretty budget friendly system at that time(some of the components are added later as a replacements for defective ones) and i'm going for the same thing right now, don't wanna waste much since i'm not gonna game or edit stuff like crazy. I've been running on some bottlenecks lately and the latest triple A titles are a pain in the ass to configure on my system to even run properly.. Also i would like to make it aesthetically pleasing to the eye ehm.. ARRRGB I was just thinking of Upgrading the main components and the case to a moar "gucci" one if you know what i mean My spec is as follows: AMD FX-8320E ASRock Fatal1ty 970 Performance NOCTUA NH-L9X65 HyperX Fury 16GB DDR3 Asus R9 290 DC II OC 4GB Gigabyte B700H 700W PSU Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB 2x Western Digital 1TB HDD Zalman S3 Case For a monitor i use a 4k Samsung HRD UHD as i'm playing mostly Cinematic games and watching movies, also can run up to 4 windows at once and it also is a great browsing experience. I was hoping to upgrade to: Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450 Tomahawk Max Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 3000mhz to 3600 (whatever is available in the market at that point) GTX 1660 Super or RTX 2060 (+50$~) NZXT H510 White Samsung 970 Evo Plus 250GB I would love to hear your recommendations/suggestions Also i thought about waiting until the release of Ryzen 4000 series and RTX 3000 series and the fall of the prices during Black Friday hmmm Please do let me know what you think about you are greatly appreciated

Was going through some stuff in my basement when I came across this old beast (probably wasn't but one can dream lol) and it's just been eating away at me for what it could be. I don't have a system with and agp port, so I can't exactly just gpu-z it or anything. The strangest part was the crucial sticker on the fan, which really got me curious about what this could possibly be. So I went googling just about every string of characters that was on the pcb, sticker or not, and still nothing popped up. The closest result was from when I tried on the bottom right of the front, PN 109-A034GN-00C, but that gave results that obviously weren't this card. I got desperate so I popped the cooler off, and the die was illegible. So now I turn here! To see if any of you know anything about this mystery card.

I recently decided to upgrade my old pc with a ne processor, mobo and a ssd. I tested it once outside the case and it posted to bios, then put everything in the case, it posted to windows on my hdd once and then turned it off, put in my windows install media usb to wipe the hdd and install windows on the ssd but it never posted again after i tried turning it on again. Everything starts lighting up and spinning but the vga led on the Mainboard stays red and there is no output to any of the peripherals. Hope someone can maybe help. I have a laptop and a PC - laptop has Integrated Graphics 5500 and processor has Integrated Graphics 2000. Using the same VGA cable and same monitor, I feel that laptop output is in general much sharper and easier on the eye than the PC. What could be the reasons? Will attaching a discrete graphics card on the PC and using its HDMI help?

I have gtx9800 in my computer, but to it get in I had to take the shroud and fan off. The fan was mounted at the end blowing toward the back, I replaced it with an old 90mm case fan that I mounted directly on top of the gpu, blowing up. That left very little room between the bottom of the case and the fan intake. It's ugly and loud. I thinking of taking off the huge stock heatsink and replacing it with a little VGA cooler that looks like an aluminum daisy with a little fan in the middle and 8 little v-ram heatsinks. My question is will the VGA heatsink and the GTX mounting holes line up, are they compatible. I don't like the idea of using zip ties as a mounting solution. If the mounting hard ware isn't compatible, are there any adapter kits for the brackets or ones that works with a cpu cooler like this Thermaltake CL-P032-CA06SL-A

dual monitors Laptop "Sees" Dead Monitors
alexsorian posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Disclaimer: this is my first time on this forum, i'm very sorry if there is anything wrong with this topic. So it all started when we were trying to plug a second monitor into a samsung laptop, the monitor has nothing special, its a VGA-only Asus monitor, and the laptop we are talking about is a Samsung NP300E5M. well, everything was going great, the laptop I/O provided us only with an HDMI port, but that's fine, since we bought an HDMI to VGA adapter. The issue appeared when we tried finally plugging the laptop to the monitor on the following order: Laptop > Converter > VGA cable > Asus monitor. Well, windows recognized a display plugged in, and would let us configure the display "normally" on settings, but there is always this small issue: the monitor is not plugged into any kind of power (unless ((if there is any)) the power coming from the VGA adapter and cable), whenever the monitor is connected to a power socket, laptop immediately stops recognizing the secondary display. We tried troubleshooting the issue ourselves, and we found that the issue may be on the laptop's I/O, because the same issue is present when plugging the laptop on a TV straight through HDMI, no adapters or VGAs involved. Is this a case of haunted hardware? how can we troubleshoot it more, or find a way to fix it? Thank you for reading this, i apologize again, i hope we can all discuss this and find an answer-

Hi! So I just finished building my first gaming pc. I noticed that after turning on the power button the Aorus Logo will appear on the screen and the Red lights on the lower right angle of the motherboard will start to lit. First the DRAM followed by the CPU, VGA and BOOT. After a few seconds the loading process will continue but then it will suddenly stop leaving a blank screen on the monitor (No Signal) with the VGA LED lit on the motherboard. I tried to configure everything in the Bios, like putting the Storage Boot Option Control on UEFI only. Tried the Fast Boot as well, changing booting options but still the VGA LED remains on. I have to add that after making or not changes in the Bios, by clicking Save and Exit Setup or Exit without saving, the computer will restart and will boot up normally directly to the Windows 10 desktop and will work normally fine even if you shut it down again and turn it on immediately. I've tried already as well to unplug the RAM, all the wirings from the 24 pin connectors, CPU power connector and pcie power connector and still nothing changes. The only problem is that it won't boot up after 30-several hours after shutting down or putting it on sleep and will have to access first the Bios then or either click save and exit or exit without saving. I wonder if guys have any suggestions regarding this problem of mine! Thank you in advance! Hi, I have a desktop pc with a GPU that outputs two DVI ports, one HDMI and one DisplayPort. I currently have two displays connected, one using an HDMI to DisplayPort cable going into an HDMI hub which also has an input connection from my laptop, the hub then outputs a signal via an HDMI to DVI adapter cable and connects to my display using DVI as this monitor only supports DVI and VGA Inputs. the HDMI output on my GPU goes into another HDMI hub as I have another connection from my laptop and a connection from my Xbox. this then outputs to the second monitor via an HDMI to DVI cable. This second monitor accepts DVI, VGA and Displayport inputs. I have recently found a five-year-old monitor, which only accepts DVI and VGA inputs, in my attic and have decided to use it with my setup. I have made use of one of the DVI ports on my GPU to do this. I have plugged the cable into both DVI ports of the GPU but I am not getting an image on the monitor. if I go into the windows display settings and tell it to disconnect one of my monitors then I do get an image on my third monitor. My GPU does support dual-link DVI as well. thank you in advance for any help and advice you can provide. I am thinking of upgrading my GPU to an RX 580 and I will add a link to the card: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/TTfmP6/msi-radeon-rx-580-8gb-armor-oc-video-card-rx-580-armor-8g-oc I will also add a link to my current GPU as it is listed on PCPartPicker: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Bbg323/sapphire-video-card-100281vx2sr

My son's computer keyboard, monitor and mouse would not turn on. I recently bought him a new RX590 for Christmas. We suspected it was possibly the PSU or MB causing the issue. The PSU was a 600 watt. So we decided to just completely upgrade his system. We replaced everything except for the GPU, SSD and Case. I wiped the SSD and installed a fresh Win10 Pro OS. Everything worked! Things were working great but then while he was watching YouTube the keyboard, monitor and mouse died again. I don't know the MB BIOS version. Probably what came on it. Below are my troubleshooting steps with no success. Any suggestions for what I can do? It's weird that the GPU worked in a new system. It worked in the rebuilt system and then the KVM died again. I turned off the computer, pulled the power, pulled the cmos battery, pulled the RAM and GPU and let it sit for a day. Pressed the power button a few times. I put it all back together and no KVM and the White VGA light on the motherboard is lit. More Troubleshooting: Tried new monitor, new cables (DVI, DP and HDMI) Tried new power strip and used a Back-UPS. Tried new GPU (Radeon HD 5870) I even tried using a USB Win10 boot drive - None of this worked Put GPU into another working system, ops ck good. Guys I've been using Display port to VGA converter to use my GTX 1060 for a VGA monitor. I can play games like CSGO and my display works fine at 60Hertz, but as soon as I launch Resident Evil 7 my display goes blank and my screen keeps on refreshing [indicating as the connection is being disconnected and then reconnected] but as soon as I close the game the display comes back. How can I solve it? I know that those connectors won't support beyond 60Hertz. I also deleted the config files containing the video setting details and all. The new config file doesn't have any video setting saved. Please need a solution.

I've got an old lga 775 mobo and i have used a new 700w psu with it and it won't post. It does post with my old 300w one (last time I checked) so, why doesn't it post? I'm thinking maybe the molex connector on the new one wasn't meant to be on the mobo? Can someone help?

Greetings! So I recently bought a new monitor which we used a HDMI cable rather than a VGA cable. And now, I'm thinking about using my old monitor as my 2nd monitor. As I'm trying to set it up, I'm having troubles to make it work. The only port available with the old monitor is a VGA port, which means I can't use a HDMI Cable with this one. So, I used the VGA cable and put it in my Graphics Card ( GTX 1060 ). It seems it didn't work, as it was only a black screen, no signals or such. And then I tried putting it on my motherboard's VGA port. And still, It didn't work. And I'm wondering, "How can I make this work?" So I went to a electrical store and asked the store clerk. He said that I have to do something with the settings? Well, I don't know how or what settings I'm supposed to change. I have no interest to buy a VGA to HDMI cable. Thank you and have a nice day

System specs: - CPU: Pentium G620 (3M Cache, 2.60 GHz) - only support up to 32 GB of DDR3 1066 - VGA: Integrated - RAM: 2GB 1333 MHz DDR3 - Motherboard: H61MX - which support up to 16 GB of DDR3 1600 Any VGA suggestion for my system? I don't have extra power for the VGA so I'm looking for the strongest and suitable VGA! Thanks! :") Edit: Just trying to have a playable case for my little brother!

Hiya, my old computer isn't outputting any visuals, and I've tried multiple VGA cables, with the same result so I think the VGA output is screwed. I know the computer is on, but there isn't video. Ask questions for more details. Thank you, Harry.
