This is really strange. I've been streaming using OBS (have now changed over to OBS Studio) for a while now and using Window capture has always worked just fine. Now all of a sudden, it doesn't work for browsers. Only browsers. As in, they're just a black screen. The cursor shows up, but not the window itself. It first happened with the browser I usually use: Vivaldi. It's fairly new and has the occasional bug so I figured alright, it's probably just the browser. So I tried Chrome, and that doesn't work either. Vivaldi's Chromium based, so maybe it's just that? Nope, Firefox and Edge won't work either. I can't find any other program besides browsers that won't work. I downloaded and installed OBS classic, and I'm getting the same results with that as well. What is going on?

Hello. I'm wanting to stream on Twitch via OBS Studio, but I'm really not sure whether my computer is capable or not. It's a really shit computer to be honest, and I'm doubting it's effectiveness on the streaming field, but I'll give it a try. (It's that bad I couldn't find the exact one online for it's specs, but I think it's this one, but I'm not sure. At least it's close to this, I guess...) Specs https://www.cnet.com/products/acer-aspire-x1470-ur30p-a-series-a4-3400-2-7-ghz-4-gb-500-gb/specs/ Thank you!

Anyway to retrieve it, came from a Twitch stream exported on to YouTube.. --I realized it is most likely near or generally impossible but I would like to get it back in some way--

I'm planning on buying this computer and this monitor : http://pcpartpicker.com/list/CBWdFd I want to stream games like Rust, Ark, CSGO, Minecraft and sometimes AAA titles. Do you guys think that i'll be able to stream on Twitch in 1080p with my games >60FPS ? Will this ultrawide monitor have an impact on the stream's image ? Will I be able to plug another monitor and still have games >60FPS ?

Hey guys! I'm new to the forums, but I heard I could get help from here. So I've been having this issue for while now, can't even remember how long. As you can see in the image, my wallpaper is showing up when I open YouTube in fullscreen on Chrome. This only happens on Chrome, I tested on Edge and Waterfox and they are working fine, but Chrome has all the addons I like. This also seems to happen on Twitch and Netflix, so probably all fullscreen videos are off the table. I recently installed Windows 10 Pro 64bit, and it didn't change the bug (I did upgrade so it kept all my files on my computer). For Chrome Plugins, I have AdBlock, BetterTTV, Bitly, Dark Skin for Youtube, Enchanced Steam, FrankerFaceZ, Linkclump, Magic Actions for YouTube, My Chrome Theme, Oddshot, True Key, TunnelBear, Twitch Now, TwitchAlerts Stream Labels and all the Chrome Preinstalled plugins all enabled. I really hope to get help from here, as I really cannot watch any videos on my monitor fullscreen without being annoyed. Sorry for my terrible english, I'm finnish and trying my best Thanks!

I was looking to build a second PC for dedicated streaming. As in all it will do is encode and upload to Twitch, and edit videos. It occurred to me that my current set up would be able to handle the role as a dedicated Streaming PC if I instead make the new PC an i5 Skylake gaming rig, and just transfer my new GTX 1070 to that and put my old GTX 780 into the Streaming PC. So my question really boils down to is it better to use my old i7-4770k set up as a dedicated Streaming PC and build a new i5 Skylake gaming rig *or* use my current i7-4770k rig for gaming and build a new dedicated Streaming PC (i7-6700K or i7-5280k)? Hello, I started creating a bot for Twitch, I'm currently facing a issue where the bot is unable to view messages and I have no idea how to fix it. To start of, I'm in no way known with python as I'm focusing to learn php, c# and javascript. This is my code, and it's not able to get any messages. I'm also posting on twitch's dev site for help about this. CHAT_MSG = re.compile(r"^:\w+!\w+@\w+\.tmi\.twitch\.tv PRIVMSG #\w+ :") chat(s, "Hello everyone!") while True: response = s.recv(2048).decode("utf-8") print(response) if response == "PING :tmi.twitch.tv\r\n": s.send("PONG :tmi.twitch.tv\r\n".encode("utf-8")) else: username = re.search(r"\w+", response).group(0) # return the entire match message = CHAT_MSG.sub("", response) # Commands if message.strip() == "!what": chat(s, "sup it's me") sleep(1 / (20/30))

Hi, I've recently got into streaming to twitch. As my channel is small, I can stream any game and get the same activity in chat and viewer count (basically none LUL). Anyways, I really enjoy playing RB6 Siege and I tried streaming it the other day; this issue is that while I'm getting 100+ fps in game, my stream is dropping countless frames, to a point where is looks like a slow slide show with my voice in the background. Is there any thing I can do settings wise, or is it time for an upgrade? Thanks for any advice!

Want to swap to an Intel CPU. HELP NEEDED!!
MrTomLA posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Current setup: GTX 970 GPU AMD FX 6350 CPU MSI 970 Gaming Mobo I'm looking into upgrading both my GPU and CPU. I've heard that the i7 4790k is a good choice as it isn't ridiculously priced and performs very well (from what I have heard anyway). In terms of the GPU I think its a fairly easy choice between the 1080, 1070 and 1080 ti. I am not set on these choices, so if you have any better choices that you think I should consider then let me know. At this stage forget about a budget, I want to get an idea of what is out there first and then start to figure out how much I want to be spending at this stage. If there are any streamers out there that want to give me some advice, whether its related to the hardware or whether its general tips about how to grow an audience on twitch, what software is best for streaming etc, then that would be greatly appreciated. -
So I wanted to use my Ipad as a webcam for twitch so I got a software called iVCam. It works great (though I wish it was wired cause then less latency) but I don't know how to use it for Twitch. After selecting the hardware decoding option I was able to have skype detect it but I don't know how to let my computer detect it as a webcam and let me select it through Geforce's streaming option. Any alternative programs or something I can do to let this work?

I have a really nice powerhouse rig, at least to me anyway, that I use for gaming, Twitch streaming, video editing, and general use. But a question crossed my mind recently, does constant streaming and gaming age your hardware faster than someone who just plays games, makes videos, or uses their PC for general use? I feel like I heard either Linus or someone said it does, but I decided to get educated instead and ask. If it does, is it worth building a streaming PC just for twitch so my main rig doesn't "age" as fast. My system Case: Corsair Graphite 760T White Full Tower Motherboard: Asus Z87-A Processor: Intel i7-4790 3.6Ghz Quad Core Ram: Corsair Vengeance LP 1600Mhz 16GB. Okay so here is my issue I'll start with hardware and break this up into section to make it easier to follow. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Hardware: AMD Threadripper 1950x @4.040 ghz Asrock Taichi x399 Nvidia GTX 1080ti @ 2.066 ghz single stick 16gb ddr4 2133 mhz Samsung evo 850 250 gb toshiba 2tb 7200rpm seagate expansion desk HDD 5tb ____________________________________________________________________________________ Issue: So I heard the threadripper was the ultimate chip for megatasking. You can stream game and encode a video all at oonce with no issue... Well heres my issue, and maybe I have problems with obs but I game at 4k (as one would if they paid a few thousand for their computer and setup). So well use OW as an example streaming at 1080p 60fps bit rate of 5500 and cpu preset for x264 encoding @veryfast/faster. With all 16 cores enabled I drop frames in game (sometimes down to 20 or less), cpu sits around 50-70% usage, but I have encoding overload! I also have this weird glitch where my game will look like it freezes (or the monitor rather) where it will freeze frame, audio will play and I still have movement control of my character. I know the character is still moving because on the stream there is no freeze frame. So as far as hardware, even if I go to stream at 4k I hit encorder overload, cpu is at 70% gpu is 80-90%... and frames are literally unplayablly low. I have the ryzen masters software and I tried disabling some cores and that helped with the dropped frames but made the freeze frame so much worse. I have heard that the logitech c290e can cause problem in obs with the encoding, I have not tried decreasing its quality. _________________________________________________________________________________________ My Thoughts: My immediate though is my memory speed is too slow, ddr4 2133 is too slow, I know I am not hitting 100% memory usage, it stays around 60% when streaming. I WOULD NOT BE OPPOSED TO UPDGRADING RAM BASED ON SUGGESTIONS FOR MY CONFIGURATION. How is it possible I am dropping frames and freeze framing in game while streaming if none of my cpu cores are pinned and my gpu isnt pinned at 100% usage. FYI: Since cpu and gpu are water cooled on push pull configs temps stay stupid low, gpu peaks at 51C after constant 100% load, and CPU never climbs out of the 40C's for my usual work loads. __________________________________________________________________________________________ TL;DR I have a crazy computer, insane hardware, usage both cpu and gpu are not at 100% but I am dropping frames in game along with a hardware encoding overload on x264 encoding. My initial reaction is that it is ram. I appreciate all responses and would be okay with people personally contacting me on my cell/personal email. I can attach pictures of HWiNFO64 if needed, screenshots of obs, and maybe a link to a stream vod/youtube video to show the freeze frame not translating to the stream.

I have the Extreme 150 package and on speedtest.xfinity.com I get about 170 Down and ~13 Upload. Just 3 days ago non-stop to now, whenever I try to start streaming my bandwidth to twitch or youtube goes down the drain. I have a Xfinity Arris TG682. I've tried restarting my modem, changing ethernet ports, and updating drivers. When I stream my connection to everything else is fine, I just lose bandwidth.

I found an ISP with a good up and down speeds, but it has a data cap which is 500 GB per month. I am wanting to stream soon, so I calculated how much data I will consume (streaming alone) in an hour. So here is my calculation. Assuming the bit-rate I will be using is 6000 Kbps. 6000 Kb to Mb = 6 Mb 6 Mbps x 60 seconds = 360 Mb per minute 360 Mbpm x 60 minutes = 21600 Mb per hour 21600 Mb x 6 hours = 129600 Mb per 6 hours 129600 Mb to GB = 16.2 GB per 6 hours 16.2 GB x 30 days = 486 GB per month Is my calculation correct? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hey guys and girls! I'm looking to upgrade my current pc so that I can stream and play games. With the launch of the new coffee lake processors, I was wondering if it's worth going from an i5 4690k to the i7 8700k, or would it be better to go with the i7 4790k instead? Obviously I am aware of the significant price difference, given that the 8700k requires a new mobo and new ram.

Source: https://blog.twitch.tv/bring-the-zombie-apocalypse-to-twitch-7a5bf4ecff42 Twitch has decided to dip their toes into the sudden loot crate craze. This year's halloween emotes on twitch require users to use bits, a type of currency on twitch, in order to receive a crate. Every 250 bits that you cheer on a bits enabled stream will grant you a crate. Collect six emotes that can only be used until the end of 2017 and you receive a zombified kappa emote that can be used permanently. You can also receive the emote if you perform a cheer using 5000 bits or more on a bits enabled stream. These crates will be available to unlock until November 3rd. I personally think that this loot crate trend is going way too far and this attempt by twitch to lock away emotes in crates as part of a treasure hunt signifies this.

(Please read everything before commenting) Hello community, so Me and someone else were discuissing a potential upgrade of one of our friends. She streams on the regular base on twitch and the topic came up. The main concern was upgrading the system for improved performance and possebilities. The System Specs of our friend are following: Cpu: i74770K at 4.3Ghz Cpu Cooler: Corsair Hydro H55 Gpu: GTX 770; RAM: DDR3 16Gb RAM at 1333Mhz Motherboard: MSI Z97-G43 (Got informed that it is another one but didn't got the actual one) Webcamera: Logitech C920 Camera: Canon EOS 700D with 50mm 1.4 lens Camcoder: Canon VIXIA HF R500 My Position was that if our friend upgrade she should go for: a new Mobo(with USB 3.0, Type C or Thunderbold Ports) new Ram (16-32GB of DDR4, 2133 or upwards) and maybe even get a dual 980 build if the Cpu doesnt get upgraded much OR a 980/1060 and a high end Intel or Amd CPU My reasoning behind it was: Mobo - Better Connectors for better transfer, RAM - Higher ddr level for improved multi-tasking and higher Mhz wont hurt, Dual Gpu/Cpu upgrade - Better Encoding / More headroom, Higher Quality His Position was: Staying on USB 2.0 because it has a better BUS witdh, CPU is strong enough for a while, Dual GPU is better for streaming than CPU upgrade. (To his position from my perspective: I think staying on USB 2.0 is only making things worse especially since I nowhere found superior bus speed information about 2.0 than 3.0, CPU is decent enough but a upgrade would help but isn't as important, and Dual GPU is very situational depended) To the upgrade, its not from the most importance as our friend can stream and is stable (1080 @30fps). The only thing is that she could once stream with 4 cameras and now her obs or system crashes/freezes when she has more than 2 cameras connected We were just discussing what would help her and what the upgrade path should be. So now I want to ask you guys, if his position has some points and what upgrade path you think would help and how my advice was. I'm not a extreme expert so take everything with a grain of salt. Vincent M.

So about a year ago bought this PC https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0111MTSZ8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and all I did was swap out the graphics card for a Radeon RX 460 and was wondering if I should get more RAM or a better CPU to improve the quality of my streams. The games look fine on my end but on twitch it looks like a blurry mess. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So I recently made the purchase of a Blue Yeti microphone to take the place of my headset microphone. One thing I did not realize was how incredibly sensitive this thing really is. I have the microphone set to Caratoid, my gain is set appropriately, as well as the microphone level itself within the properties. I know there are several programs out there that are supposed to help reduce the background noise and the general hum of the room, but I cannot for the life of me figure any of them out on my own. I'm currently running my microphone through the VoiceMeeter program with the use of the VB Audio Virtual Cable. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix the hum I have in the background? One of my buddies compared it to sounding like I was in the back of a C-130.
