So I’ve had my new computer for about a month or so now and it plays all games just fine, except Fallout 4. Every 5-10 minutes I’ll get a bad lag spike that lasts about 3-5 seconds and goes down to 0 fps, then returns to normal. I have framerate capped at 1/2 my refresh (144hz monitor so 72fps cap). I’ve triedcapping it at 60fps, 30fps and 144fps and nothing seems to fix it. Specs are: AsRock X570 Taichi (latest bios) Ryzen 9 3900X Corsair h100i v2 (temps never go over 70C) GTX 1080 ti EVGA SuperNova 750W Platinum 32GB (2 x 16GB) G.Skill TridentZ Neo (samsung b-die) 3600MHz Seagate IronWolf 4TB HDD 7200RPM Samsung 970 EVO (256GB NVME) Windows 10 Pro (1909) x64 Is there an ini tweak i’m missing? Looking on my second monitor CPU usage that is utilized by the game drops to 0% during the lag and then goes back to normal utilization. GPU utilization hovers in the 32-51% range the whole time. I know there’s nothing wrong with the PC as that is the only game that has bad stutter like that. If I had to guess maybe its when the game is loading a new chunk and its moving the load across chiplets for some reason? My old rig never gad performance like that (i7-5775C overclocked to 4.5GHz, GTX 1080 and 32GB of DDR3 2400MHz). I also am running the Ryzen High Performance power plan and several mods (no script mods or anything like that) it also does it on a fresh install with no mods. God Rays at Ultra vs Off makes no difference, weapon debris are also disabled. Also tried limiting it to 4 threads, 8 threads, 12 threads, 16 threads and all 24 threads. Does Fallout 4 just not play nice with Ryzen, or does someone have any optimization ideas?

Hi Guys, Heres the long story: I'm an IT tech at a college, and since the covid lockdown, we've been putting local user accounts onto laptops for people to use at home, all has been working fine apart from a few days ago when a student came to us claiming that all of his documents had been deleted from the local user profile, naturally i assumed they had been silly and deleted their work on purpose or by accident, I couldn't see any trace of these files anywhere on the pc, not even in the recycling bin, but i used recuva to find a few files and off they went, now today, a member of staff came to us, with exactly the same problem, they had been logging in fine with the local user account, then one day when they signed in, BAM all of their documents were gone, teams had signed out, it was just like a brand new fresh profile, and again theres no sign of any documents anywhere, and recuva could only find a few documents, my query is, is this supposed to happen? as in is there a limited refresh time on local profiles, or is it purely user error? Specs for you guys Both instances were using Windows 10 1903 Enterprise LTSC Both Instances were using Lenovo Laptops but one was a L570 and the other was a T590 Both Laptops were set up in the exact same way, no differences Is there anything else you guys need to know? I've been trying to search the net for a while now, and haven't come up with anything? Am i being too paranoid, or this simply just a user error? Thank You in advance.

My AMD Wraith Prism that came with my R7 has a cord that won’t fit into my ASRock B450M Steel Legend, and I was wondering if this might be a deficiency, or my own stupidity, or a compatibility issue. Thanks for your feedback. It is the NOT the RGB USB cord. It is the 4 pin connector that goes into the CPU_FAN1. In the Installation Guide for my Mobo, as well as the AMD Installation Instructions, it shows a cord that doesn’t 100% resemble the cord I have. It seems like from both guides that I got 2 RGB cords. Maybe a lost cord? How many cords does the AMD WRAITH PRISM ship with?

My system is about 4 years old now. System Specifications -------------------------------- Intel i7-6700k Maximus VIII Hero Dominator Platinum 16GB 3200mHz (2x8) RM650x PSU Samsung 256GB 850 PRO SSD Western Digital Black 2TB hard disk. I was using Cablemod's cables in my system until recently when I had to replace some of them since it wouldn't boot at all. After using the brand-supplied cables, the system wouldn't boot at all, with the usual 55 Q-Code error that people deal with. I thought there might be an issue with the CPU and re-seated it and it didn't work. Later, I tried putting the RAM sticks in different slots and again it didn't work. Finally, I tried with only one stick and lo, it booted and everything worked fine. However, when I try to insert the second stick in any of the 3 available slots, the system doesn't post. I have no idea why this is happening and it's really freaking me out. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

Hello, I have a little issue when I stream... I guess I would try on this forum, because I cant find anything on google and i'm not getting anywhere with twitch support or reddit. So when I stream on x264 (software), everything works fine... but when I select AMD (hardware) I get an error on twitch that my download was canceled (error #1000), but when I playback the stream after it works fine... My computer specs: R5 3400g 16GB RAM maybe because i dont have any graphics card... currently running on vega 11 integrated graphics.. Thanks!

Hi, I broke my glorious noname ultrawide. Dropped it while mounting it on a VESA stand... Anyway, I've taken the time to carefully take it apart and I've found the exact part that I need to replace, the LCD glass panel: I've scoured online for that specific part and found the entire panel itself: http://www.panelook.com/M350QVR01.1_AUO_35_LCM_overview_30542.html It has some listings on AliExpress but they are pretty expensive ($400, monitor itself was around $600) mainly because of shipping to Canada: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32848852247.html The entire panel with the backlight is very heavy so the shipping makes sense, however the glass LCD is very light and should be cheaper to ship but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've messaged the above seller on AliExpress but they do not want to ship the LCD itself because it is hard to pack: The monitor in question is the G-Story GS35C (3440x1440, 100Hz, Freesync) and it uses the AUO M350QVR01.1 panel. Pretty much all other high refresh rate 1440p ultrawides use this same panel (Monoprice Zero-G Acer Predator Z35P, AOC AGON AG352UCG, HP Omen X35 BenQ EX3501R, Massdrop Vast...). Hello. From time to time, my laptop screen gets some pink and green lines and the lower part of the screen stops working. The issue seems to appear only on darker backgrounds as when I open the Chrome it somewhat comes back to normal, but it still keeps a little flicker. The current operating system is Manjaro, but it did that before with Windows 10 too so I believe it is a hardware issue. When I turn the screen off (shut down or sleep), the problem seems to fix itself for a period of time. From what I found on the internet the panel seems to be an IPS one if that helps. I just picked up the Acer XF270HU and have never calibrated the colors of a monitor before. I found a collection of color profiles on TFT Central, but I don't know which one to use. Here are the color profiles: XF270HU_67Mon brightness_D65_160cd luminance.icm, XF270HU_79Mon brightness_D50_160cd luminance.icm, XF270HU_80Mon brightness_D65_250cd luminance.icm, XF270HU_100Mon brightness_D65_250cd luminance.icm, and XF270HU_100Mon brightness_D65_default luminance.icm. If anyone knows which profile I should use, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Hey everyone! so i get 350 Mb down and 100 up yet my download speed is like 9 mb/s randomly pauses and my upload rarely works and if it does it like 8 kb/s i just reformated same issue up to date drivers, on ethernet! I am using and asus motherboard with gigabit lan and amd cpu, please help !

My friend has been experiencing problems with his prebuilt Ibuypowerpc. He has a I7-8700 not K, and a RTX 2070 from MSI. He's had the PC for a year and just started playing games with it, like 2 weeks ago. Then his monitor would display "no input" when he was playing games yet his keyboard, mouse, audio, and computer was still running. Whenever he got this black screen and the message of "no input" his computer fans would ramp up. He would have to restart the PC and whenever he tried to get into the BIOS it would either crash or nothing happened when he pressed f2 or DEL. Eventually the PC would display no input even under no load. So I told him to run a multiplayer Garry's mod game, and his monitor displayed no input, but the server was still running and I got to work helping him. So I asked him to swap cables, and even try the motherboard's display input with 2 different HDMI cables. Nothing worked, even with a different display. Eventually I told him just to reset and unplug his PC. And go back to the original config of his monitor and the original cable. But after the restart we got no signal. I even told him to go through the monitor's input signals but nothing happened. While he will consult IBUYPOWER, it would be nice to get everyone's input. In the image it shows the cable in the motherboard, but that was just a test to see what would happen. He is running a 1920 x 1080 60 Hz HP monitor, not sure of the model.

I have been TSing issues for the past 6 days trying to get my games (mainly Call of Duty: Modern Warfare but others are crashing too) running and I just can't get it to run. First off, I am going to throw down my computer specs: OS: Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Updated CPU: AMD Ryzen 5-3600 6 Core (3.6 GHz stock) RAM: 16 GB DDR4 (G.Skill) Motherboard: MSI X570-A PRO (MS07C37) Bios firmware - H.83 (Updated) Graphics: 4 GB VRAM Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 (Drivers updated to 26.32.14.4587 (445.87 Version)) Storage: 167 GB INTEL SSD (SSDSC2BW180A4) (SATA) 2 TB Seagate ST2000DM001-1ER164 (SATA) 500 GB Samsung Portable SSD T5 SCSI (USB) Power Supply - 750W EVGA 80+ Gold rated. Errors: Dev Errors - 5624, 5763, 6328, and 6068. (6068 is the most common) These errors happen at random times (loading screen, connecting to online services, while in-game, start of a game, or even in weapon loadouts. Troubleshooting steps taken: -Factory Reset on PC -DSIM restorehealth /scanhealth (CMD Prompt) -Turning off every single program besides MW. -NVidia Control Panel tuning (Vsync ON and OFF, Setting power for high performance, Rendering, setting GPU to RTX (even though only one Video card) -Set Graphics to default, low, high, and ultra -Set to Window, and fullscreen -Reinstalled the game on HDD, SSD (SATA) and SSD (USB) -Reinstalled shaders -Used DDU to completely remove all graphics drivers and audio drivers in safe mode and rebooted. -Turned off windows auto update for Graphics Driver / AMD Drivers auto updated. -Turned off XMP mode in BIOS (Even turned down Frequency of RAM to 2133 instead of 3200 (My cpu only allows for 3200 even though MB allows for 4400)) -Turned off all overclocking of CPU, GPU, and RAM. -Turned off and unplugged 2nd monitor. -Scanned and repaired game files. I even went so far as to test my hardware on a 2nd PC: -Switched my HDD with another HDD. -Switched my video card out for an Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 (still issues). -Switched my RAM out for 2x4 GB Viper DDR4 RAM (from a WORKING PC) -Switched my RAM into the working 2nd PC and it worked fine. -Could not test my video card on the other PC though due to size issues. One thing to note also, when I get the DEV Error 6068 (DirectX Unrecoverable error) it seems to lag up my computer for about 10 seconds after the crash happens. I do have a snapshot saved of the event viewer after the crashing if you do need it. If you need any more information, please feel free to ask. I tried to add all the information possible to make it so you didnt have to ask so many questions but I am only human. If any Devs happen to see this, please help! I would like this to be resolved. I appreciate your time and effort in viewing this post to anyone who reads this. Snips attached of windows event viewer (No minidump files created due to no BSOD) I did do some digging but when looking for these errors not all of the numbers matched up so I figured I would reach out for assistance. My first gut feeling is either the Video Card or the RAM. Also attached is an error report from a different game, this claimed a RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 and from looking that up maybe the RAM had cached all the memory from Call of Duty? Unsure. Sorry for the long post but it has been a long week and I am tired!

Hey yall, another day another problem, so I I booted into my bios after having some audio issues and saw on a forum that updating the bios might help so I went to do that and saw the option to use the internet update feature instead of a usb which seemed more convenient. So I started it and it completed the update from what I can tell and restarted and now it wont post and the vga led is stuck on.From what I’ve read on prior forums related to this issue people are saying the gpu is dead but I dont think its that as I tested it in another machine and it was able to post. If you have anything that could help please don’t hesitate to ask. I play CS:GO competitively in amateur online leagues. I normally have no problems with the game but over the past two weeks I've been experiencing lag/stutter. Details: I don't experience ping spikes I don't experience packet loss I don't experience frame drops below 180 fps My internet is 500 megabits per second download My hardware is: 2070 Super, i7 9700k, 16GB RAM, Win10 + CS:GO are on a SSD My monitor is an ASUS 144hz 1080p monitor connected to the 2070 Super via displayport cable Attempted fixes: I verified the game files Uninstalled and re-installed Adjusted graphics and audio settings Ensured computer's power settings were set for max performance Ensured all cores were enabled I run other games like CoD: MW and DayZ with no issues at all. About a week ago I got to play on an Acer Predator Z35 monitor and it was amazing! So amazing in fact that I decided that I should save up money for one. But the price really got me. Nearly a thousand euros for a monitor is allot concidering my PC only costed 1500 Euros to make. These are the things I'm looking for in my new monitor: G Sync (Or freesync because I'm currently using an AMD R9 390. I'm planning to upgrade after I buy a new monitor.), Ultrawide, Curved, 100HZ or above and 2560x1080 or larger. Thanks in advanced!

I am using a mid 2013 Macbook Air running OSX El Capitan 10.11.6. When I open Messages it closes right away so I opened Messages.app/Contents/MacOS/Messages to see what was going on. That opened a Terminal window of the process and I can see a line that says 'kill: 9' pop up after about 5 - 10 seconds. I have no idea where that is coming from so maybe one of my friends did it to me as a joke? Maybe I was hacked? IDK but I do not think it was done locally so it must have been over a network. Not sure if that will help or not. Please help thanks!

I was just playing games as usual, then my pc suddenly turned off. Initially it would not boot, not even the keyboard and mouse are lit, which they usually are when pc is off. PSU made these rather high pitched clicking noised when turned off and on. When it did decide to boot, sparks came from the VRM so I immediately turned off the power supply to avoid further damage. Now there's a burnt smell coming from the mobo. I don't know what I should do now. I just tested my PSU with the PSU tester it came with, the fans still spin and one of my LED fans still lights up. My pc had a history of rebooting mid-use, however it usually did not involve it completely shutting down and burnt smell. A similar situation did occur before, but only once, that was with my old PSU, which was the cause of the reboots, as now with the new PSU the reboots have stopped.My specs are: FX 9590 ASROCK 990FX EXTREME9 H100iGTX EVGA 850G2 Supernova Gigabyte GTX970 Windforce

G'day guys. I'm having a problem with my Intel 730 Series SSD Over the last few months my ssd has been filling its storage to a crazy capacity, its only a 250 gb SSD and its filling up faster than i can think This isnt even a problem between starts it happens while the computer is powered on in as long as i've been typing this post, its filled ~150mb I can only account for 206.8gb of storage in files the files (i see this by right clicking the file and finding how much stuff is in it) and the SSD reports 218gb of storage used.in a drive that only has an effective capacity of 222gb thats concerning me. I've emptied /Temp and the recycle bin, and i've also run the Intel SSD manager at least once every month. i dont understand what is going on. I had a big clean out the other month and i had 22gb of free space, and i've installed nothing since. I have NO idea whats happening. Please can someone help me? Thanks, Andrew.

I just acquired a used full computer and a mother board, cpu, ram combo recently. I loaded the computer currently running unbuntu on an ssd. Everything loaded perfect no issues on the completed computer. The issue comes with the motherboard combo I got. I plugged in all the basics (monitor, keyboard, mouse). I used the ssd from the completed build knowing the ssd is working thought it would be a good test. The operating system starts up and when it prompts the message to start unbuntu or do a memory test it resets. I cannot get past the unbuntu prompt. I ran a memory test and that passed. I've stayed up and running in the bios for an extended period of time and the cpu temp never went above 40 degrees Celsius. Would a bios update fix the loading issue? Is there something I am missing?

I have an ubuntu box that I use as a NAS and a plex server. Ubuntu is stored on a separate smaller SSD, and I access the desktop from my other PC using TigerVNC to update the system and make changes. I logged on this morning to find that the OS ssd was out of space, and the offending file was the syslog at 44gb in size. I tried googling what the error was, but I can't find any info on it. All of the IP addresses in the errors are Russian or Eastern European, so I'm thinking my box might have been compromised? Ok, i was watching YouTube and i blue screen with this code WHEA_uncorectable_error. i googled it and basically it said either hardware failure or widows drivers are not working properly so i tried rebooting and got into windows and the n it blue screens again, same error code. try to boot again and "preparing widows recovery" or something like that, come up. i wait and wait but nothing. anyway i tried 1 stick of memory, no post at all. put all 4 back in and again no post disconnected all drives and got into thee bios then it froze. for the time i was in the bios it said all 4 dims were detected. here are my parts Mobo http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170 Pro4D3/ ram 16 gb https://www.hyperxgaming.com/us/memory/fury-ddr3 cpu i5 7600k (yes i have done the bios update and it worked fine for weeks) Boot drive intel 530 series 120gb ssd hdd WD blue 2TB Gpu gtx 1070 Msi Armour So what should i do? i am going to try and get back to the windows recovery screen and leave it overnight. but i think my Mobo is the problem Tbh HELP PLEASE Edit: just got into the preparing automatic repair, im gonna leave it overnight and see what happens unless you guys give me some advice.

I was bored and so I decided to partition my hard drive and install Ubuntu, but it went wrong. It created some other partitions, and now I am really confused. I just want it so I have my SSD for OS and HDD for other stuff. I want to add the 94 GB unallocated back into drive D. I don't know why D is green either. Please help

So recently i picked up on a youtube channel Lewis's Tech where he exposes the fake tech support scammer and their techniques. After watching a couple of his videos and laughing a lot i noticed he was using an app called "Scammer Bingo" which was pretty funny and i laughed my ass off while realising what was actually going on. He was ticking off things the tech support scammers said and then counting the points at the end of the video sometimes exposing this app to the scammer himself. It was obvious at that time that i wanted to try the scammer bingo myself but what i ran into was it only supports windows PC's. I recently switched to mac so i was kind of bummed. Then i thought what if i "ported" this app to a platform that is available for any device. No it wasn't Java i went with the beautiful and almighty WORLD WIDE WEB. One of my all time good friends helped me with some stuff around it. Feel free to use this site whenever you try to troll one of these tech support scammers, try to get as much info about their company out of them as you can and report it to Microsoft i provided a link for that on the site as well. I live in Canada and tether my phone to my computer in order to play games online. The phone is a nexus 6P and has a constant issue with becoming invisible to nearby devices. The hotspot says it's on but every device connected to it drops signal simultaneously. I've tried everything with the phone to fix it factory resets but nothing works. My solution was going to be to buy a MIFI device but they seem to be locked behind carriers and in my carrier's case (Rogers) locks them to specific plans even so I can't use my current data plan with the device. I've googled everything I can think of but everything I find is ancient forum posts, poorly reviewed devices, or something that only work in the USA. Anyone know if there's a way to make my connection more stable?

Hey guys, i really need your help here. I was in class today and my laptop (a Dell Latitude E5450) just suddenly powered off). At first i thought it might have been out of battery so when i got home i plugged it in and waiting for around an hour. I hit the power button, the LED around it turned on, no fans or screen functioned, and it just turned right back off. I’ve tried the common fix of removing the battery supply and reconnecting it, as well as removing it, and the power outlet, holding down the button for 15-30 seconds, plugging it in, turning it on and then inserting the battery. i need this laptop for my classes it is very important and the closest tech place takes 3 days to repair so i figured i’d ask you guys and take a shot hoping you can help...
