  1. Nintendo's patent's claim include: A console may physically, wirelessly, and/or net based connect to one or more other devices with one or more processors to assist with computing. There will bitcoin mining like compensation system for use in a sort of cloud p2p gaming system. The cloud p2p gaming system will route traffic based on latency. This patent has many interesting claims. They either indicate that you can hook your new 3ds and/or older consoles into your nx, or you can stack nx up to the ceiling and hope for 4k support. The vague cloud compensation system either indicates: you getting trophies/mii clothes/ect for the random number of times your nx is called to the cloud, there will be a freemium lottery based net usage system where it's pay to play online or collecting phantom system use tokens, or you get store credit for the phantom use of your nx. I have no idea if this indicates scalable power or a cheap system with duct taped legacy/network support. Tell what everyone thinks and here's a link to the patent and a video about this. http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=8&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=Nintendo.AANM.&OS=AANM/Nintendo&RS=AANM/Nintendo
  2. for an amazing price of... According to a research done by jonpeddie.com (not sure how legit it is) on a Worldwide PC Gaming Hardware Market Report , global PC gaming hardware market is forecast to slightly recede in 2015 but, but less than the overall PC market, and then resume growth in 2016 & continue it's course upwards The research was conducted on purchase scenarios based on 33 countries, notebooks, desktops, DIY, and accessories all together on overall sales & prediction for the future pc gaming improvements development on the hardware level, the research was done on 3 categories, Enthusiast, Performance, and Mainstream...each version selling for $7,500 and the set of three for $15,000 Enthusiast Market segment is predicted to be worth $10.7 billion in 2015, which is over 40% of the total market value. The performance section of the industry is expected to reel in 7.6 billion dollars (31%). Last (and arguably least); the mainstream market is worth just over $6.3 billion, good for 26% of the total market. Do remember these are pretty much logical assumptions based on past ratings, it's kinda like a stock market chart except this one shows promise Ooh, a Black & Red gaming pc! What a surprise  The research touches on points on pricing of future hardware & the updatability from an older system to be included in the research numbers, pretty much anyone's who's having a Build from last year or beyond would infact gonna have to upgrade their components to keep up with the ever growing demand for gaming purposes, the more photo-realistic the better, but comes at the cost of having to buy a new hardware annually(3 years according to my personal research for mainstream gamers with mid range components every freaking time) Display resolution is going to be a huge issue for PC upgrades, GPU's from this gen barely manage upto 60 on 4k , newer titles with ultrahigh resolution is gonna cost users some serious cash in the coming future, most probably one of the reason the industry is gonna make a huge profit out of this.. Enthusiast market imo is literally testing the waters on how much high they can price something for a futureproof component (& By future proof they mean 6-8 months ) I couldn't follow up the original report since it's behind a pay-wall , so that's all i've got unless someone provide the data Source: http://jonpeddie.com/publications/pc_gaming_hardware_market_report http://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu_displays/pc_gaming_hardware_industry_to_be_worth_30_billion_by_2018/1

  6. Samsung Electronics Co. said Thursday its homegrown operating system known as Tizen is going to be widely adopted in its televisions starting this year in the company’s latest attempt to beef up its software capabilities. Samsung didn’t disclose market availability or pricing details. The Tizen-based TVs will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week. Samsung has failed in the past to launch a Tizen-powered smartphone, by adopting the Tizen platform, highlights the Korean company’s attempts at trying to jump start its consumer electronics unit, which hasn’t brought in significant profit growth to the company. Bold move from samsung but i think it won't have any immediate effect on consumers to get rolling,we'll have to wait & see... 7. Apple is facing a lawsuit for not telling users about the amount of memory required by its flagship operating system. The complaint alleges that it takes up so much space that far less than advertised is left for people to store their own data. Apple has yet to issue any official comment on the lawsuit. The lawsuit is seeking millions of dollars in damages for those using Apple devices facing the storage squeeze. Pretty exagerated case imo, but still they do have a brutal point to the case, we probably get to see this one ending up in apples favor any ways post your opinions & rants & android FTW comments down beloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeee.. 8. @69lover : ninja'd Source: http://torrentfreak.com/canadian-isps-vpns-now-alert-pirating-customers-150102/ Under the new law Internet providers are required to forward copyright notices they receive from rightsholders to their customers. Providers who do not comply, including VPN services, face damages up to $10,000. Among the most prominent concerns are the so-called settlement schemes where copyright holders ask pirating subscribers to pay a fee. These have become relatively common in the U.S. and are now expected to expand into Canada. The new notice-and-notice system also has a great impact on VPN providers. The new law requires them to identify pirating customers so they can forward the infringement notices. This mandatory data retention is expected to lead to a customer exodus as it makes it impossible for providers to guarantee people’s anonymity, a key feature of any VPN service. Many VPN providers assign shared IP-addresses to their customers, so even if they wanted to there is no option to accurately identify a copyright infringer. For these companies the only option will be to shut down, or move the company outside of Canada.
  9. in the midst of CES news Facebook officials said that it had acquired a voice-recognition startup that claims to “turn speech into actionable data" The Company is called "wit.ai" The 18-month old company, based in Palo Alto, California, it makes software that can understand spoken words as well as written text phrased in "natural language." A Facebook representative declined to provide details on how Facebook planned to use the technology or with which group within Facebook the wit.ai team would work. The deal comes as technology companies are racing to bring Internet connectivity to a new crop of devices, The technology is rumored to be used to target advertising against the users , But Wit.ai’s technology could allow Facebook users to speak commands that could be converted to text as posts or messages. The technology could have other uses. Facebook already has an optional feature that can recognize music and television shows and encourage users to post about what they’re listening to or watching. Pretty interesting news & how & where it's headed is a mystery, imo most probably they will create a siri+AI hybrid that helps users, Please do post your thoughts on this down below.. Sources: (lots of major outlets are reporting this) http://techcrunch.com/2015/01/05/facebook-wit-ai/ http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/01/05/us-facebook-wit-ai-idUSKBN0KE1V220150105 http://www.wsj.com/articles/facebook-buys-voice-recognition-startup-1420496634

  11. News Source : http://techcrunch.com/2015/01/13/apple-patents-a-wireless-action-camera-and-wrist-based-remote/ Well Well Well, Look who it is with the patent thing again.. Apple has been awarded a patent by the USPTO based on IP it acquired from Kodak in a deal from 2013, which details a remote digital camera system that can be controlled from a smartwatch I'd be pretty amazing to see these sort of innovation in action.Whtat do you guys think? post your comments & thoughts down below..
  12. Source: http://www.theverge.com/2014/12/31/7474057/elon-musk-says-tesla-automatic-car-charger-solid-metal-snake Tesla's doing it again. Elon himself said it while unveiling the AWD options for the Model S and Autopilot. He thought it up right there on stage. An automatic arm with the charger attached to it that automatically extends 'like a solid metal snake' and plugs the charger into the car. It'll work with all current and future Model S cars. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/550297212769402881 Here's Lord Elon's own statement. For realz. We need more people like him, and more companies like Tesla.
  13. Article courtesy of the verge please go check it out over there http://www.theverge.com/2015/2/26/8116645/twitter-improves-abuse-reporting-tools-phone-numbers Weeks after The Verge published internal memos from Twitter CEO Dick Costolo in which he said "we suck at dealing with abuse," the company is rolling out new tools to reduce harassment on the service. Under the changes, users who receive temporary bans may have to verify an email address or a phone number to resume using Twitter. (Other users can be banned permanently.) Email addresses are relatively easy to obtain, but phone numbers are harder — and by checking phone numbers against a list of banned users, Twitter could be able to keep more abusers and harassers from creating accounts. In December, Twitter improved the workflow for reporting abuse and harassment, making it easier to do on mobile devices and requiring fewer inputs. For the first time, it also allowed bystanders, rather than the victims themselves, to report abuse. With today's update, Twitter is bringing the same tools to reporting impersonation, self-harm, and the inappropriate posting of personal information. Now third-party accounts can report those violations of Twitter's terms of service using the same simplified workflow. TWITTER HAS PLEDGED TO FURTHER IMPROVE ABUSE REPORTING TOOLS Costolo has pledged to further improve abuse reporting tools, and to make it easier for users to filter trolls out of their replies. In the meantime, Twitter says that it's working harder to ban its worst users. "Overall, we now review five times as many user reports as we did previously, and we have tripled the size of the support team focused on handling abuse reports," Tina Bhatnagar, vice president of user services, said in a blog post. Update: After this post was published, we got some questions on how tracking phone numbers will reduce abuse. Twitter does not require new users to provide a phone number when they sign up — and so a user who was banned, and decided to create a new account, could do so even if they had harassed users previously. But if that user began to harass again — as many committed trolls on Twitter do — Twitter can then ask them to verify their email address and phone number, and if it's on a list of banned accounts, that user could be suspended permanently. This move doesn't resolve Twitter's whack-a-mole troll problem entirely. Among other loopholes, a user asked to provide a phone number the first time could simply abandon his account and start a new one. But the move does add a layer of friction to the lives of the most dedicated trolls, and in that sense it could at least begin to address the issue.
  14. This was Literally the most accurate picture i could find for this topic right now  Let's do this together Apparently North Korea is prepared to lend US a hand in finding the actual perpetrators behind the Sony Picture entertainment company hacks the North Korean foreign ministry said: "As the United States is spreading groundless allegations and slandering us, we propose a joint investigation with it into this incident." The Interview had been due to open on Christmas Day. However, after anonymous threats against cinemas, Sony said it was considering releasing it on different platforms such as rumored bit torrent or outside the US dvd release.. Current President of the united states Barack Obama made a statement earlier that the picture not being released due to threat was a mistake & made somewhat clear assumption that North Korea was behind the SPE company hacking A Sony statement said the decision had been based on "the majority of the nation's theatre owners choosing not to screen the film". "Without theatres, we could not release it in the theatres on Christmas Day. We had no choice," the statement added. ouch! Do read this official statement from the Feds: Official FBI Press Release Update Notes on SPE Hacking. Pretty much a tennis court right now, i think a 3rd or even a 4th party has involvement on this whole situation or it could be a clearly formulated attack strategy on to a nation that is from the US to deliberately get involved into a 3rd world country to topple a subtle dictatorship (probably declassified CIA files will be available in the year 2150 or so ), Those are my thoughts , What are your opinions on this whole shenanigan? Please do post your comments down below.. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30560712 Bonus News US in talk about putting North Korea back on terror list in a CNN interview, President Obama described the hacking as a "very costly, very expensive" He said US officials would examine all the evidence to determine whether North Korea should be put back on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. "I'll wait to review what the finding are," Mr Obama said, adding that he did not think the attack "was an act of war". North Korea had been on the US list for two decades until the White House removed it in 2008, after Pyongyang agreed to full verification of its nuclear sites. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30568455

  16. Ever Wondered how our digital life would be in 2025? The Pew Research Center published a report in which a majority of experts agree that our current expectations of digital privacy may be completely gone by 2025. More than 2,500 experts weighed in on security, liberty and privacy online and whether there will be a "trusted privacy-rights infrastructure" in place by 2025 that lets people protect their personal data easily. One respondent suggested that as the Internet continues to expand, the very idea of privacy will become a fringe activity. Overall, 2,511 respondents weighed in on the following questions: Security, liberty, privacy online Will policy makers and technology innovators create a secure, popularly accepted, and trusted privacy-rights infrastructure by 2025 that allows for business innovation and monetization while also offering individuals choices for protecting their personal information in easy-to-use formats? elaborate the answer.Describe what you think the reality will be in 2025 when it comes to the overall public perception about whether policy makers and corporations have struck the right balance between personal privacy, secure data, and compelling content and apps that emerge from consumer tracking and analytics. Consider the future of privacy in a broader social context. How will public norms about privacy be different in 2025 from the way they are now? Of the respondents, 55% said no, that will not happen, while 45% found this a reasonable outcome. They all agreed, however, that there is something inherently public about the Internet. Here are some of the quotes from experts (few hand picked , please see source links down below to go through over 90+ quotes) Here are a few more interesting quotes from the experts Pretty much a good topic for discussion, i think it's a good thing that viable people starting to recognize the amount of data being dumped over the interwebs & people not noticing how dangerous that is & don't think twice, already it's been too gargantuous & if it needs to be organized the data to be sifted through , all of it & set to be private, an impossible task as of now, But aside privacy concerns there needs to be oversight as well imo , using NSA was a good example (i know ) they were doing a pretty good job, but it's a touchy issue ,, unless people find a viable solution those kind of reforms are the only thing that is keeping the internet in control. i simply wish AI could take over this area(i could be wrong) for analyzing threats & they will have more refined fine precise control over it than actual people judging , because those judgement can/could/will be biased (human nature) What are your opinions & thoughts on this issue? 21. https everywhere Google is proposing to warn people their data is at risk every time they visit websites that do not use the "HTTPS" system. The proposal was made by the Google developers working on the search firm's Chrome browser. Currently only about 33% of websites use HTTPS, according to statistics gathered by the Trustworthy Internet Movement which monitors the way sites use more secure browsing technologies. there are three basic transport layer security states for web origins: Secure (valid HTTPS, other origins like (*, localhost, *)); Dubious (valid HTTPS but with mixed passive resources, valid HTTPS with minor TLS errors); Non-secure (broken HTTPS, HTTP). HTTPS uses well-established cryptographic systems to scramble data as it travels from a user's computer to a website and back again. Letting people know when their connection to a website is insecure could drive sites to adopt more secure protocols,In the short term, the biggest headache is likely to be faced by website operators who will feel forced to migrate unencrypted HTTP websites to encrypted HTTPS Firefox's Browser based warning system this will be a very useful function if gets implemented , what are your thoughts on this? post your comments & rants down below.. 23. A Bugs Life.. Damn Humans.. Dr. Alper Bozkurt and Matt Shipman Two researchers from iBionics (soon to be sewed by apple) labs North Carolina State University are experimenting a quite unique way of searching for survivors. The medium involves two subjects to function, an insectobot connected to a small, audio-sensing cyborg harness & our faithful beloved mini flying drone or a controlled flying moths.. How do they work: First thing is the roaches which carry microphone that can capture high-resolution sound from any direction to be wireless transmitted is set free into the rubble, Following that a mini drone or a similarly controlled flying moth is set loose & it hovers over space where the signal is being send from , idea is to let loose these critters over a disaster area where they can crawl down the nooks & crannies of the rubble where rescuers have a hard time reaching the victims , where as the bugs can reach & locates the helpless victim & can help target the rescuers efficiently & save a heck of a lot time reaching the victims.. The microphone essentially captures sound waves from from victims who are in pain or use the high resolution audio throughput to analyze the breathing noises from an unconscious victim & as in an echolocation it nears its distance towards the victim Mean while the same time the drone that is flying above follows the critters path & hovers over the exact same spot & afterwards it has reached near the victims exact location it sends out a confirmation signal & rescuers can get to them in time Video Demo! hi I'm a Pc & I'm a Mac The researchers have also created a sort of invisible fence that keeps bugs within a rescue area by controlling their motions. They are also adding solar power cells so they can work autonomously for days at a time. so they just don't wander off after they'd been released.. Video Demo of invisible fence: It's amazing to see technology becoming so small & very efficient at the same time that it can be made useful for these kinds of situation or could even be used for more espionage Leave a comment or rant or even a troll down beloooooooooww.. 24. Safe Search Finallly Google officials are in talks in developing a Kids safe version of their ever popular search engine , The site is mainly aimed for Kids that are 12 & Below, The News Comes courtesy of USA today with an interview with Googles VP of engineering, who is being tasked with leading Google's upcoming initiative to make their suite of products, from Gmail to YouTube into a more kid friendly user experience. beginning next year 2015 the tech giant plans to create specific versions of its most popular products for those 12 and younger. The most likely candidates are those that are already popular with a broad age group, such as search, YouTube and Chrome. Google will make them safe for children 12 years old and younger and give parents tools to oversee their kids' actions the Google search engine isn't remotely the same as an adult's. (nope duh) Controversy may well follow in the wake of Google's drive. While tech companies are always seeking out new markets, which in turn expand their user base and ultimately drive up revenue, traditionally kids younger than 13 have been off limits. company expects some controversy over the change, but that kids are already using Google's non-kid-friendly technology. Pavni Diwanji VP google What also is being worked out are the ways in which parents will be able to oversee their child's interactions with Google's technologies, perhaps limiting usage to set time frames. "We want to lay the foundation right, and then make sure every single part of Google is great for kids. They are the future, so why not give them the tools to let them create it." Pretty exciting news imo, Google haven't yet announced which specific items they are working on or the timeline line only that the search engine & browser & it's current active services such as google chrome , image search & YouTube are confirmed, What are your thoughts on this? 25. Watch out Ubisoft..There's a new digger in town.. PS4 Users have been complaining about shareplay being disabled for COD:AW , at first it was rumored to be a region specific lock, Later sources have revealed that this is just all out worldwide block on shareplay for COD :AW , Share Play is apparently blocked out entirely, regardless of region. Users who try to share the play with a friend will get a message that says the following: “The host’s game screen is not displayed because the current scene is a blocked scene for Share Play. Wait until the blocked scene is finished.” Activision representative gave this statement to 'polygon' website who made an inquiry to the cause of it being blocked.. Sony designed the feature so certain elements of games such as the licensed music or a game cutscenes that can spoil the game game plot for the user could be blocked, so that it would not cause any problems with the industry with copyright slaps from higher up the ladder, but Activision seems to be the first company to block an entire game. According to an interview with a sony representative Share Play access is completely at the mercy of developers. Its their choice, and it's very probable that Call of Duty won't be the last game to block the feature What is SharePlay? (a detailed look) Share Play allows two PS4 owners to play the same single copy of a game over the Internet. The owner is designated as the host, and can stream gameplay footage to a guest console. The host can relinquish control of the game to the guest too, effectively giving another user the chance to play without paying. Sony added Share Play to the PS4 in system software update 2.0 which went out last week While Share Play is limited to sixty minutes per session, users can return to the mode immediately after the time ends. There is no cap on Share Play sessions either, meaning that a game can effectively be shared indefinitely. Game publishers and developers already have the ability to restrict the PS4's Share button functionality or block it altogether. For example, video shared from NBA 2K14 includes no sound, because the game uses licensed music, Also sharing can be disabled for cutscenes that a developer considers to contain spoilers. On top of that not all games will be able to support shareplay.. Activision says that Share Play might not be blocked indefinitely Regardles of this being a PS4 issues, Youtube gamers who upload gamplay footage or walthrough have been receiving notifications for uploading videos containing gameplay from activisions COD:AW with a copyright takedown notice, there was guy in here like yesterday who made a thread specifically on this takedown as a rant.. watch out Ubisoft, You got competition..
