Nintendo's patent's claim include: A console may physically, wirelessly, and/or net based connect to one or more other devices with one or more processors to assist with computing. There will bitcoin mining like compensation system for use in a sort of cloud p2p gaming system. The cloud p2p gaming system will route traffic based on latency. This patent has many interesting claims. They either indicate that you can hook your new 3ds and/or older consoles into your nx, or you can stack nx up to the ceiling and hope for 4k support. The vague cloud compensation system either indicates: you getting trophies/mii clothes/ect for the random number of times your nx is called to the cloud, there will be a freemium lottery based net usage system where it's pay to play online or collecting phantom system use tokens, or you get store credit for the phantom use of your nx. I have no idea if this indicates scalable power or a cheap system with duct taped legacy/network support. PC Gaming Hardware Industry to be worth $30 billion by 2018

According to a research done by jonpeddie.com (not sure how legit it is) on a Worldwide PC Gaming Hardware Market Report , global PC gaming hardware market is forecast to slightly recede in 2015 but, but less than the overall PC market, and then resume growth in 2016 & continue it's course upwards The research was conducted on purchase scenarios based on 33 countries, notebooks, desktops, DIY, and accessories all together on overall sales & prediction for the future pc gaming improvements development on the hardware level, the research was done on 3 categories, Enthusiast, Performance, and Mainstream...each version selling for $7,500 and the set of three for $15,000 Enthusiast Market segment is predicted to be worth $10.7 billion in 2015, which is over 40% of the total market value. The performance section of the industry is expected to reel in 7.6 billion dollars (31%). Last (and arguably least); the mainstream market is worth just over $6.3 billion, good for 26% of the total market. Do remember these are pretty much logical assumptions based on past ratings, it's kinda like a stock market chart except this one shows promise Ooh, a Black & Red gaming pc! What a surprise :mellow: The research touches on points on pricing of future hardware & the updatability from an older system to be included in the research numbers, pretty much anyone's who's having a Build from last year or beyond would infact gonna have to upgrade their components to keep up with the ever growing demand for gaming purposes, the more photo-realistic the better, but comes at the cost of having to buy a new hardware annually(3 years according to my personal research for mainstream gamers with mid range components every freaking time) Display resolution is going to be a huge issue for PC upgrades, GPU's from this gen barely manage upto 60 on 4k , newer titles with ultrahigh resolution is gonna cost users some serious cash in the coming future, most probably one of the reason the industry is gonna make a huge profit out of this.. Samsung Electronics Co. said Thursday its homegrown operating system known as Tizen is going to be widely adopted in its televisions starting this year in the company’s latest attempt to beef up its software capabilities. Samsung didn’t disclose market availability or pricing details. The Tizen-based TVs will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week. Samsung has failed in the past to launch a Tizen-powered smartphone, by adopting the Tizen platform, highlights the Korean company’s attempts at trying to jump start its consumer electronics unit, which hasn’t brought in significant profit growth to the company. Bold move from samsung but i think it won't have any immediate effect on consumers to get rolling,we'll have to wait & see... Apple is facing a lawsuit for not telling users about the amount of memory required by its flagship operating system.The complaint alleges that it takes up so much space that far less than advertised is left for people to store their own data. Apple has yet to issue any official comment on the lawsuit. The lawsuit is seeking millions of dollars in damages for those using Apple devices facing the storage squeeze. The new law requires them to identify pirating customers so they can forward the infringement notices. This mandatory data retention is expected to lead to a customer exodus as it makes it impossible for providers to guarantee people’s anonymity, a key feature of any VPN service. Many VPN providers assign shared IP-addresses to their customers, so even if they wanted to there is no option to accurately identify a copyright infringer. For these companies the only option will be to shut down, or move the company outside of Canada.

in the midst of CES news Facebook officials said that it had acquired a voice-recognition startup that claims to “turn speech into actionable data" The Company is called "wit.ai" The 18-month old company, based in Palo Alto, California, it makes software that can understand spoken words as well as written text phrased in "natural language." A Facebook representative declined to provide details on how Facebook planned to use the technology or with which group within Facebook the wit.ai team would work.The deal comes as technology companies are racing to bring Internet connectivity to a new crop of devices, The technology is rumored to be used to target advertising against the users , But Wit.ai’s technology could allow Facebook users to speak commands that could be converted to text as posts or messages. The technology could have other uses. Facebook already has an optional feature that can recognize music and television shows and encourage users to post about what they’re listening to or watching. Under the changes, users who receive temporary bans may have to verify an email address or a phone number to resume using Twitter. (Other users can be banned permanently.) Email addresses are relatively easy to obtain, but phone numbers are harder — and by checking phone numbers against a list of banned users, Twitter could be able to keep more abusers and harassers from creating accounts. In December, Twitter improved the workflow for reporting abuse and harassment, making it easier to do on mobile devices and requiring fewer inputs. For the first time, it also allowed bystanders, rather than the victims themselves, to report abuse. With today's update, Twitter is bringing the same tools to reporting impersonation, self-harm, and the inappropriate posting of personal information. Now third-party accounts can report those violations of Twitter's terms of service using the same simplified workflow. TWITTER HAS PLEDGED TO FURTHER IMPROVE ABUSE REPORTING TOOLS Costolo has pledged to further improve abuse reporting tools, and to make it easier for users to filter trolls out of their replies. In the meantime, Twitter says that it's working harder to ban its worst users. "Overall, we now review five times as many user reports as we did previously, and we have tripled the size of the support team focused on handling abuse reports," Tina Bhatnagar, vice president of user services, said in a blog post. Update: After this post was published, we got some questions on how tracking phone numbers will reduce abuse. Twitter does not require new users to provide a phone number when they sign up — and so a user who was banned, and decided to create a new account, could do so even if they had harassed users previously. But if that user began to harass again — as many committed trolls on Twitter do — Twitter can then ask them to verify their email address and phone number, and if it's on a list of banned accounts, that user could be suspended permanently. This move doesn't resolve Twitter's whack-a-mole troll problem entirely. Among other loopholes, a user asked to provide a phone number the first time could simply abandon his account and start a new one. But the move does add a layer of friction to the lives of the most dedicated trolls, and in that sense it could at least begin to address the issue. -

When Apple has released previous security patches, it has done so through its regular software update system, which typically requires user intervention.the critical security issue in the network time protocol (NTP) has prompted Apple to push an automatic OS X update for the first time ever. Currently only about 33% of websites use HTTPS, according to statistics gathered by the Trustworthy Internet Movement which monitors the way sites use more secure browsing technologies. there are three basic transport layer security states for web origins: Secure (valid HTTPS, other origins like (*, localhost, *)); Dubious (valid HTTPS but with mixed passive resources, valid HTTPS with minor TLS errors); Non-secure (broken HTTPS, HTTP). HTTPS uses well-established cryptographic systems to scramble data as it travels from a user's computer to a website and back again. A Bugs Life.. Damn Humans.. Dr. Alper Bozkurt and Matt Shipman Two researchers from iBionics (soon to be sewed by apple) labs North Carolina State University are experimenting a quite unique way of searching for survivors. The medium involves two subjects to function, an insectobot connected to a small, audio-sensing cyborg harness & our faithful beloved mini flying drone or a controlled flying moths.. How do they work: First thing is the roaches which carry microphone that can capture high-resolution sound from any direction to be wireless transmitted is set free into the rubble, Following that a mini drone or a similarly controlled flying moth is set loose & it hovers over space where the signal is being send from , idea is to let loose these critters over a disaster area where they can crawl down the nooks & crannies of the rubble where rescuers have a hard time reaching the victims , where as the bugs can reach & locates the helpless victim & can help target the rescuers efficiently & save a heck of a lot time reaching the victims.. Safe Search Finallly Google officials are in talks in developing a Kids safe version of their ever popular search engine , The site is mainly aimed for Kids that are 12 & Below, The News Comes courtesy of USA today with an interview with Googles VP of engineering, who is being tasked with leading Google's upcoming initiative to make their suite of products, from Gmail to YouTube into a more kid friendly user experience. beginning next year 2015 the tech giant plans to create specific versions of its most popular products for those 12 and younger. The most likely candidates are those that are already popular with a broad age group, such as search, YouTube and Chrome. Google will make them safe for children 12 years old and younger and give parents tools to oversee their kids' actions the Google search engine isn't remotely the same as an adult's. (nope duh) Controversy may well follow in the wake of Google's drive. While tech companies are always seeking out new markets, which in turn expand their user base and ultimately drive up revenue, traditionally kids younger than 13 have been off limits. company expects some controversy over the change, but that kids are already using Google's non-kid-friendly technology. Watch out Ubisoft..There's a new digger in town.. PS4 Users have been complaining about shareplay being disabled for COD:AW , at first it was rumored to be a region specific lock, Later sources have revealed that this is just all out worldwide block on shareplay for COD :AW , Share Play is apparently blocked out entirely, regardless of region. Users who try to share the play with a friend will get a message that says the following: “The host’s game screen is not displayed because the current scene is a blocked scene for Share Play. Wait until the blocked scene is finished.” Activision representative gave this statement to 'polygon' website who made an inquiry to the cause of it being blocked.. Sony designed the feature so certain elements of games such as the licensed music or a game cutscenes that can spoil the game game plot for the user could be blocked, so that it would not cause any problems with the industry with copyright slaps from higher up the ladder, but Activision seems to be the first company to block an entire game. According to an interview with a sony representative Share Play access is completely at the mercy of developers. Its their choice, and it's very probable that Call of Duty won't be the last game to block the feature What is SharePlay? (a detailed look) Share Play allows two PS4 owners to play the same single copy of a game over the Internet. The owner is designated as the host, and can stream gameplay footage to a guest console. The host can relinquish control of the game to the guest too, effectively giving another user the chance to play without paying. Sony added Share Play to the PS4 in system software update 2.0 which went out last week While Share Play is limited to sixty minutes per session, users can return to the mode immediately after the time ends. There is no cap on Share Play sessions either, meaning that a game can effectively be shared indefinitely. Game publishers and developers already have the ability to restrict the PS4's Share button functionality or block it altogether. For example, video shared from NBA 2K14 includes no sound, because the game uses licensed music, Also sharing can be disabled for cutscenes that a developer considers to contain spoilers.
