Hey guys i wrote a short spec fiction story and was hoping i could have some feedback. If you just want to read then do that. I really want to share this asi am pretty proud of it *i know the paragraphs and whatnot were lost in the copy-paste from google docs... Sorry Goodbye By Jack Vann-Lammonby Rosalie lay there, staring up at the ceiling. Lights danced across the smooth white surface, telling tales from long ago. Lions ran through savannahs and white horses galloped through fields of green and yellow. She could hear her parents rushing around, picking up her things and putting them into white, plastic boxes, occasionally pausing to argue about something, then hurrying to to pack again, as if to make up for the time they just lost. Then the lights turned off. Rosalie was picked up and carried through the house, towards the door and out into the vast expanse of what once was New York. Buildings, mere skeletons of what they had once been, casting shadows over the endless rubble and destruction, as if glaring down at what once was a happy place, sadly reminiscing. A car pulled up. It's immaculate white finish a stark contrast to it’s surroundings. Rosalie felt herself slide into the cool black leather. Her mother and father slipped in beside her, the doors shut themselves and the car began to move. The long, thin Windows allowed the family a cinematic view of the streets of the once-New York City. The road utterly useless, bar a small strip of fresh tarmac, on which they drove. The side window displayed walls of corruption; political propaganda and extremist posters. Graffiti lined the sidewalk and defaced the governmental figures adorning the walls. The car slowed as it maneuvered through the tight streets. Not a thing moved around them. There was a breeze, but no trees to slowly sway in it. Though it was a warm summer morning, no people peered out of windows to catch the sun’s rays. The streets were littered, yet no dog strayed to find a meal. Slowly the broken cityscape faded and and they approached a vast emptiness in amongst the chaos and destruction. In the centre of this concrete field sat a building composed of a bright white alloy and reflective, black glass. It sat there, a single daisy in a meadow of grass; alone. The building was round and, in the centre, stood a white pinnacle, it's tall frame casting a shadow over them. Rosalie was taken from the cool grasp of the leather and into her mother's arms. The two of them moved down the walkway that led to the building, her father beside them. As they approached the building, glass doors hissed open. They stepped in. Rosalie thought it smelled like a hospital, the reek of disinfectant stinging her throat and making her gag. The only thing in the room was an elevator. It's glass doors parted, inviting the new arrivals in. The doors shut and the elevator began to move. When they stopped and the elevator opened it's doors, it became apparent that they were on a roof, with the pinnacle of white towering over them. A voice from an unknown source spoke to them, “Walk towards the entrance and await further instruction”. Two panels slid aside from the seemingly solid white surface and they stepped in. The authoritarian female voice addressed the family once more, “Please proceed down the hallway then turn left into room ten”. They walked slowly down the hall, carefully putting one foot after the other, not wanting to disturb the absolute perfection and silence. They turned left into room ten. There were doors to other numbers going down the hallway, slowly trailing out of sight around the curve of the structure. Once they would have been filled with people, now they were empty. The room was simple. It was a stark contrast to everything else. It had a brighter, more colourful theme, with three small beds: one blue, one red and one orange. The walls and floor remained crystal clean white. On the far wall was a solitary window, looking out. Three seats faced the window. “Your belongings have been placed in your room. Please be seated”. They sat and did as they were told. A low rumble could be heard. The rumble became an ear-piercing scream and the ship pushed itself from the grasps of Earth’s gravity. Rosalie shut her eyes tight and plugged her ears with her fingers, wanting to shut out the assault on her senses. Rosalie felt the ship shudder as a they pushed through the atmosphere. Then all was quiet. Rosalie felt weightless and free. She opened her eyes. She felt her mother's hand grasp her’s. Rosalie unbuckled herself and floated to the window. Peering out at Earth, a blue and green globe, now nothing but a memory. “Goodbye”, said Rosalie.

Hi, i'm moving my old pc into a new case; (the nzxt s340 white) and the psu cables are too short, will the cx430m fit into the case nicely?
-
I shorts out my PC by plugging and unplugging in my keyboard to many times.(I hate only having 3 usb ports) Still works fine. Is there any long term negative effects?
-
Hi, Today I was trying out some cheap chinese led strips. I connected them to a molex connector on my psu, but I wasn't careful enough and the positive and the negative wires touched each other. The cables were sparkling and my computer shut itself down. After a couple minutes I turned it back on, and there wasn't any problem what so ever. Should I be worried? Thank you! Marci P.S.: Sorry for my bad english....

Hi, i will keep this short. MG279Q on Amazon WarehouseDeals for 539,30 € (Germany) Description of the monitor on Amazon: Accessories slightly used, original package slightly damaged. LIKE NEW Package was already open when i received it - unfortunalty my girlfriend didn't checked it when the postman brought it... First look - just like new, exept that the DP Cable pack was already open nothing was missing or was ripped open - the manual is... yeah see for you self.... ok i come to the Screen: First Time seeing IPS and its outstanding - white is like real paper white and those colors though! I actually don't see a difference on the 144hz over 60hz... but i will try more games over the weekend before this baby goes back. (see at the end) Backlight Bleed is ok i guess... but for this price a rethink: (This shot is NOT quite accurate to what i see when the room is absolute dark, i only see the right corner highlighting a bit yellowisch and its only visible on dark backgrounds) The reason why i send it back: A quick Pixeltest was negative no visible dead ones to see. BUT the reason for the RMA is this... dang it!... (one huge scratch 1,5cm and a little one like 0,3cm) Well i spin the wheel once more for a MG279Q. Hope this helps someone. (yeah my english is bad, i try to be better)

Firstly, I've had enough internal grief to last a life time, so believe me, consider the lesson learned. Upon water hitting the top of the rig, the PC turned off within seconds. I quickly unplugged it and disconnected all external devices and plugs and leaned it on its side. I made the unwise decision of trying to turn it back on right after it shut itself down, and it seems as though that was the final nail in the coffin. Whenever I try to turn the computer on it turns on for a half second before promptly shutting back down. I tried the paperclip test on the PSU, and sure enough, the power supply is dead. I have a new one on hand, though it's still doing the same thing. I've tested the RAM and graphics card on another rig and they work fine. The only thing I can think of is the PSU shorting the MB, and possibly the processor. My question is, based on how my PC is acting, is my MB protecting itself from breaking by promptly shutting off, or is this a sign of a dead MB? Thanks in advance guys! Been an awful few days, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i bought a second hand motherboard, but the power switch header appears to be broken, whenever i turn on the PSU it boots up immediatly, and i can't turn it off using the switch. The only way to shut it down is by pressing shut down in the OS. If i wanna power it back on again, i have to turn off the PSU, remove the CMOS battery, put it back in, and turn on the PSU again, and it wil boot. So i had this idea to fix it, if i put the power switch header in between the green wire on the 20pin power connector (Yes, this motherboard uses a 20 pin ATX connector) and a black wire on the on the connector, will that boot up the system, or is there anything else that the power switch does when hooked up to the motherboard? Also, wich black wire does the green wire connect to when the system is powered on? The motherboard i'm using is a Asrock 1333 4core Viiv. I doubt this matters but i'll put it on here anyway, and yes, i did try a diffirent power supply that was confirmed working just fine. Thanks for your help, -Blauweke

Hi I am planning the build of a Pc in a Toaster. BC of the size restriction I will not be able to fit a ATX PSU in there. Do you guys have any recommendations for a super small (really small) PSU. Spec list: Amd x4-860k GTX 750ti (recommend me anything better for 100-120€ used pls:D) 8 GB of ddr3 ram Note: This PC should be capable of playing every modern game at low- medium Settings at around 30 fps . So if you have any suggestions for better parts, go ahead and post them The Budget is around 200€ since I will use it only as a secondary device:D Thx Tom:)

I plugged a fan into my Asus Sabertooth Z97 motherboard fan header while the PC was running. I'm pretty I shorted the motherboard because it no longer boots, and yes I did a strip down test with no luck. The only LED that is lit up on the mobo is the green LED at the bottom right of the mobo. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello Guys! I am buying a pc right now, but i am still stuck on a psu. I need a psu with a length of 140mm-150mm and 550w-650w. Stupid, I know. The shorter the better, and I would also like it to be available in Australia, but just chuck ideas at me and I will check for myself. Preferably 80+ bronze or more, and somewhat modular. Thanks, Liam

So I built a new PC a couple of months ago and this has been an on and off problem, but lately it has seemed to get worse. The problem is that the computer would lose power without warning and tries to reboot. This has been usually fixed by switching to PSU to the '0' position indicating off and then turning it back on after tightening some cables and the usual. But now even this fails to fix the problem. It occurs usually under slight load - playing games, small CAD work but can occur under 0 load as well. The reboot process goes like this - 1. Loses Power 2. Tries to turn on 3. LEDs turn on for 1 seconds and fans spin, including PSU fan. 4. Loses power again. 5. Repeat from number 2. I have searched online but no luck. People have suggested turning off some audio drivers, resetting overclocks and so on. Specs Below: CPU - i7-5820K (Used to be at [email protected]<script cf-hash='f9e31' type="text/javascript"> /* */</script> volts, was fully stable in my opinion. Reset CMOS a couple of days ago but still the problem exists) Motherboard - MSI X99A SLI PLUS RAM - Kingston HyperX Predator, 16GB @ 2133 The RAM is seated in the 2,4,6,8 slots on the board PSU - Corsair ax860i Case - Corsair 450D GPU - 970 G1 Thanks for any help!

Intro and Software Ill make this review short and simple. Its a great printer which can produce very detailed results in only PLA with some fine tuning and work. The printer does not natively accept STL files. you need to convert it using Dremel's software which is a bit like corsair's line of RGB mice and keyboards. It just plain sucks. It defaults at 220c and 80mm/s which is too fast and hot for good prints. I use 45mm/s and 200c. It won't let you compile things that it deems will fail in printing like a cup or bowl. To bypass, you need to add supports to objects using other 3d software or their meshmixer from Autodesk. Hardware The design of the printer is very nice in an enclose space with a magnetic door and removable top cover. It does get slightly hot in the printer and I leave the door and top of for my prints to cool faster. I usually stand a fan facing in if I am printing things like this. It came out just fine and was surprisingly detailed. I scaled it down and it came out just fine. I am now printing a larger version. The head is capable of many great prints. Unboxing and Support It was packaged extremely well. No chance of damage during shipping and had foam everywhere in the printer. They did not tell me you need to lift the base up to get the bottom foam out. I was able to print a few tests like a pencil holder in 10 minutes of unboxing. The foam will shed everywhere when you take it out. You are able to have two spools in the printer at a time, but you need to buy an extra mount for it. I tried to print one but once I was done I did not have the screws and was too lazy to find the correct screws at home depot. The support line is fantastic. If you call ask for Adrian and he will help you out. I got filament stuck in it and they helped me get it out 2 hours after he was supposed to go home. They are very nice people and will work after hours to help. When I was fixing it I needed to keep the fan on the print head on and got my wrench in it and broke the blades. He sent one out the next day for me. Conclusion Being my first print I cant compare it to others but I can say it is a great printer for the price and I would recommend it. I know people who have 400$ China printers and they cant get anything decent off of them. I would say that this printer beats the DaVinci that my buddy owns. Its an all in one printer capable of great results with some knowledge of how pla works and what temps are good as well as knowing a bit of 3d modeling. Even free online stuff works too.

Hey, so today when I went to turn my PC on, the power button on the top didn't kick it into life as it so reliably does. Opened case, checked the header and bridged it with a screwdriver as per usual, and still wouldnt turn on. As I put the Power switch cable back into the header, I accidentally got my finger caught on the wire which pulled the motherboard out a little bit, and the system sparked into life. The only thing I can think of, is there is a motherboard mounting screw that is loose in that area (wrong screw size... no idea how it was the last screw and it was wrong #welldonecorsair), that loose screw may not have been making contact with the motherboard, does it even matter? and may it have been shorting it out? Just checked again and the pc only seems to jump into life if I slightly pull on the corner of the motherboard (as to bridge a connection)... Any ideas what is causing it, or was i right?

Hi! I just got a new motherboard. It is the Gygabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev 1.1). I replaced the old motherboard with the new one but when I turn on the power, fans start running and LEDs turn on but 2-4 seconds later, they turn off again. Like 5 seconds later, it tries to boot again but the same thing happens. This cycle is repeated until I power off the PSU. All through this process, the motherboard light remains on. Also, the LED that's supposed to show error codes doesn't show anything. I made sure everything was connected properly twice and I had also taken all precautions against ESD. I tried powering it with only the minimal stuff (CPU, heatsink, CPU fan and one stick of RAM) to no avail. Next, I figured maybe there was something shorting somewhere but upon checking, I found nothing unusual. I even removed the board from the case and ran it atop a non-conductive surface but the same thing happened. I also reseated the CPU, thermal paste and heatsink and made sure that the CPU socket pins were alright. I even flipped the switch to run on backup BIOS instead of the main BIOS (I figured maybe the BIOS version could be incompatible to my CPU or something like that). The PSU is good. It works perfect on another system. The RAM is also good, to my knowledge. Does that mean i have a faulty motherboard? Or did I short something when installing the board? Or is it a much simpler issue that's preventing the system from booting? Please help! This is my build: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.1) CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4 GHz Quad core processor Case: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Snow Edition RAM: 12GB DDR3 RAM (2x4GB; 2x2GB) running at 1600MHz HDD: 2TB hitachi hard drive GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660ti 2GB PSU: Corsair CX750M OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

What is the best PSU in terms of reliability, silence and efficiency that is maximum 150mm long and is preferably between 550W and 800W? Price doesn't really matter. Thanks

Hey there guys, I'm looking to make a short film, but I myself am not a good writer, and was wondering if anyone on here would be willing to write a script / already has a script written that would be willing to allow me to produce it, or does anyone know of a good place to find such things? Or am I better off just sitting down and thinking up my own idea? Thanks guys!
-
Hey there everybody! I'm seriously thinking about creating a short film, and I've been thinking. If I get a good enough idea, and good enough story, would it be smart to create something like an IndieGoGo campaign to help fund the project, and if so, what would be a good starting budget for something of this magnitude? I would assume something like a camera rental/purchase, maybe filming/audio equipment, and lots of other things would be involved. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks!

Hi, I recently got a new rig and I've been experiencing difficulties when I turn PSU on. If I use the normal sockets in my room (10A), no other device can be on when I turn the PSU on or it'll result in a short circuit. I have been able to turn the rig on and then turn the other devices on. Today I tried to use the sockets in the kitchen which are 16A and there was no issue. So the question becomes: this can't really be about the fuse? My Nexus RX-8500 850W PSU can't really be that power hungry that 10A isn't enough? At the moment only CPU(i7 3770) and memories were attached. The PSU is brand new and it's the second one as I already had another brand new one (same model). The PSUs were ordered from different shops. And a bonus question which I'll ask from my landlord's technical maintenance: is is possible that there's something wrong with the whole electrical system? That seems unlikely as well because the building is 10 years old. All comments and help is welcome. Cheers
