I’m thinking of buying an A71 and switch over from my Galaxy S8. I want to transfer all apps, photos and videos, and settings. Can I use Smart Switch to achieve this? It’s unclear if Smart Switch will work from a Galaxy device to a A-series device.

Howdy My S8 is coming to the end of it's contract and I'm looking for something shiny and brand new, with all the latest features. So, besides an S10, what phones would you recommend? Whilst ive been pretty set on an S10, the Pixels are looking tempting and I'm wondering whether there's something i'm missing. Cheers in advance for your thoughts.

I tried connecting my S8 Active to my USB-C hub, with a HDMI to DVI-D cable, but it kept saying "Make sure that HDMI is plugged in properly". Can anyone help me plz?

I have a s8 and it is a pretty good phone , but it shows it's age e.g. I need to do a factory reset on it from 6 months to 6 months because it starts to run slow. I want to buy a iphone because it is the most powerful phone and it should still be for 1 year. But I am not sure if I should buy it. I heard rumors that the iphone 12 will have finally a new design e.g. smaller notch , 120hz , 5g , touch id , but we talk about apple so we might not get anything. I want to know if the wait is worth it or I should get the phone and fell good about it. What do you think? Btw I am going to Jailbreak it for sure , ios isn't really what I need.

So just recently I broke my Galaxy s8+'s display after two full years of no scratches, and it was in its case too! So yeah the screen is completely spiderwebbed and its bugging me to the point where I feel as though I need a new phone. However my predicament is that my phone is on a 30 month plan (its been 24 months already) so there is still a payout of about $250 if I want to upgrade. So this initial fee limits my options quite a bit because originally I just wanted to finance a Galaxy s10 for 24 or 30 months. But then I saw the massive price of $1000 USD, and as a college student I really don't have the financial leeway to actually buy a galaxy s10 ontop of the $250 upgrade fee. So my options are limited. I was looking at OnePlus 6T, fantastic phone, for only about $579, or I could buy an unlocked Google Pixel 3 XL (Certified Refurbished) off amazon for about $659. I am already leaning towards to the 6T because of its great software and flagship grade features, and I have heard problems about the Pixel 3's software, but I am also sure that most of them are resolved by now anyway. So basically, should I get the Pixel 3 XL with its great camera's and also the fact that everything from Google Drive, Google Photos, Docs, Sheets, (I use all of these frequently) and all that jazz work beautifully with it, or get the 6T for about $100 less. Anyone who has had either phone, feel free to pitch in your 2 cents.

It doesn't seem like there's much of a fix so I'm just wondering if anybody else has the problem of the messenger app pinging you with notifications when you don't have any notifications. Every time I open a conversation it does between 1-5 notification sounds. Every time I open messenger after stopping the app it does anywhere between 5-10 notification sounds. I used to think this was because of unread messages in the past, but I went through and opened every conversation that had an unread message and it still does it. edit: THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Alright, so I've been having a few issues with my Galaxy S8 that I've owned for about 9-10 months now, and I want to talk about (possible) planned obsolescence. Samsung Galaxy S8 After having this phone for around 9-10 months it's not looking bright for this phone. After about 6 months I noticed a significant change in battery life. It wasn't by a substantial amount only about an hour to an hour and a half decrease, but it was a sudden change. This may have been caused by me, but I normally don't change my daily usage very much or often. The next thing that popped up was that over the past 2 months or so the phone has been having worse and worse lag spikes (MKBHD recently talked about how he was having a similar issue with his Pixel 2). This is my first time owning an Android device, so I lack experience in this issue. Then most recently I've noticed that when playing videos the audio will often dim as if a notification popped up yet none have. Apple The last iPhone that I had was the 7+ which I had for just over a year I believe. It had great battery life up until it's birthday when the overall battery health started dropping faster than what was normal in the first year. It started to lag a bit, but nothing too bad. that's honestly about it at least for this phone. Closing Statements I love Android, and I never want to go back to IOS. I think that S8 and the S9 look fantastic, but if this is a commonplace thing for Samsung then I NEVER want to go back to Samsung ever again. Between the awful Android skin (not the worse but still stock android is FAR better) and the bloatware (not to mention the rebranded stock Android apps that are preloaded with Samsung) it makes it hard for me to recommend to someone to get a Samsung device. I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on this and your experiences.

Hi, so I've been having a weird issue with my phone recently regarding its Wi-Fi connectivity. I will very often get this exclamation mark beside my Wi-Fi icon, indicating I do not have internet connectivity. This usually happens in a few situations: 1) I have turned on my phone from sleep and go straight into using internet e.g Twitter, YouTube, Discord 2) When I turn off my PC and hop onto my phone 3) When it's past 10PM 4) When I'm watching YouTube videos at 720p+ I tested my Wi-Fi connection by using Speedtest, and it's the usual connection. I don't understand why this happens, so any help as to how it happens and what I can do to eliminate the mark will be super helpful in my endeavour to get stable mobile Wi-Fi again. Things I have already done: • Reset the router • Removed & re-added the Wi-Fi again • Enabled 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep'

In the market for a new charger but not sure if there's any benefit to using a usbc-to-usbc vs a usba-to-usbc, if both are rated for quick charge 3.0 (does the s8 accept other quick charge features like poweriq??) - Ideally looking for a dual port (or more) charger, 1 port to quick charge my s8 and the other to charge my switch (that port has to be usbc with pd 2 or 3), any recommendations?

Hello Everyone, So recently I came across a really annoying issue. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 with Boost Mobile. I wanted to purchase extra Samsung Cloud Storage (The free 15 GB is full). I couldn't see any option to buy more storage anywhere, not even online in my Samsung Account. I contacted Samsung and Boost Mobile, and after about 1 hour of calling around, I found out it's not possible to get more storage because of my carrier. Boost Mobile doesn't support it, and according to a couple of Samsung reps I talked to, they said that you can buy Cloud Storage only if you are on T-Mobile or Sprint. This is so frustrating. I have tried to find something like this around the web, but couldn't find anything. Has anyone come across the same problem? Anyone got any suggested work around? Any ideas to any app/cloud that will back up all of my data constantly (much like iCloud or Samsung Cloud). Please. I'm open to all suggestions and ideas. Thank you

I just started using s8 and i already have faced that s8 with a back cover and a screen protector does obstruct the touches. Then i order a Spigen Rugged Armor Extra Case with no screen protector. Does it need a screen protector?

I've had my S8 for about a month now, and I've always had a habit of taking my phones into the bathroom while I shower so I can have it play music. As of recently, I've been skeptical as to if this can harm my S8's water-resistance in any way. Having watched a teardown video of the S8, it seems easy for steam to make its way and moisturise the hardware. I shower with relatively hot water and I can even see the bathroom mirrors fog up, so I'm wondering if my phone's internals suffer the same fate. My showers last 10-20 minutes so it can't be that drastic, right? When I go to pick up my phone, the back of the phone is slightly damp every time, so that's probably also an indication of something. I use my S8 completely unprotected too, so it's all glass and metal exposed to the air. Would you guys recommend bringing in my S8 and counting on its water-resistance or invest in a completely seperate speaker for my shower musical entertainment?

As suggested by the thread title, I'm undecided whether to purchase a samsung S8 or a oneplus 6. From my research I've found they're both great phones in different ways; the samsung appears to be more feature packed and premium: whereas the oneplus has better raw performance due to it's newer CPU and a cleaner OS. Price isn't really a factor as they can both be found very similarly at this point in time. I'd like some opinions from users of either of the phones to aid me in my choice. Thanks for any responses

Had my phone for two months now and I got this problem now. Sometimes but not always the camera open out of focus. Like it's trying to focus on something close to the lense. Waving my hand in front of the lense doesn't seem to refocus the camera. It stays stuck. Even closing the camera app, and shutting down the process and restarting it doesn't always help. Is this a known issue? Anything I could do about it?

So I just ordered a Galaxy S8 at a discounted price and realised that LG has released their new G7 thinQ today. Do you think the G7 would be much of an upgrade to the S8, or should I just settle with the S8?

Hi guys, I was wondering about my galaxy S8, it has burnt oled display, highly visible marks + it has really terrible battery life ( I charge it 2x a day with quick charger soooo), but there is a small crack on the screen just in the corner, on the telephone they told me that it voids ANY warranty claims, what is your experience? should I fight with them or spend half of my salary on new screen ?

I am getting rid on my OnePlus 3 and I'm not sure what to replace it with. I have a budget of between £400 - £550. The main things that I'm looking for is a good camera since I use my phone camera foe everything. A good display since I use my phone for everything on the go. As for audio as long as it meets the OP3 then it would be fine. I looking at either the: Blackberry KEYone LG V30 Samsung S8 Google Pixel 2 Though I'm open to somthing else.

So i recently upgraded my phone from a Nexus 5x to a Elephone S8, which happens to be my first smartphone which i havent bought locally. And I'm glad to say it is really good so far. I got it for 220 Euros from Gearbest, took about 2 months to arrive, but well worth the wait. Pros: Really impressive to see a 2K resolution screen on such a cheap phone Very good Battery life, the 4000mAh battery can withstand a day and a half of usage without any problems Aluminium build with a very nice shiny back, which somehow isn't a total fingerprint magnet The bezels are also really small except from the bottom one, which reminds me of the first SHARP Aquos device Very clean and near stock Android experience with some added functionality for example Night light, which I've been using ever since i got the device Basically no bloatware whatsoever Front camera is surprisingly good, with bad lighting conditions Overall great performance and very snappy thanks to the deka core Helio X25 Very nice of them to include a free screenprotector and silicon case aswell Dual SIM Cons: Slow focusing on the rear camera, but the pictures are okay Takes a bit of time to get used to the bottom mounted selfie camera Didn't connect to Internet at first, but fixing the problem was just to add the right Access Point Lack of a SD-card slot, but not very neccessary in my opinion with the 64GB of storage So, conclusion time, If you are looking for a really cheap, but overall great smartphone then i truly do recommend it.

I currently have An LG Stylo 2 Plus, which is an older phone and with every update it gets slower. I got some money for Christmas and was thinking of putting some of it towards a new phone. I saw some reviews of the 5T and I liked the performance for the price of $500 USD. Although recently I have found some Samsung S8s and S8 Pluses for around $400-$450 USD. I asked my friend and he recommended waiting for the S9 which he said will most likely come out 1st quarter of 2018. I'm really not willing to pay over $500 for a phone at this point, so I can get the 5T, S8, S8+ used, or wait for the S9 to come out and hopefully prices for the S8 will drop. What would you recommend?
