I am trying to root my Blu studio g hd LTE and so far haven't had much success. I have tried kingroot, kingoroot, framaroot and onetouchroot all of which have failed. I have also tried kingoroot on my pc which failed and wondershare mobilego which keeps rebooting my phone and doing nothing. I have tried Cydia impactor which got stuck. I do have trust unknown sources enabled as well as usb debugging and OEM unlocking. Any suggestions?

Some basic info before i begin: Phone: Moto X Style/Pure on android 5.1.1 It is rooted, but no custom roms are installed. So basically what happened was I dropped by phone, then all of a sudden the on screen (Hoime, Back and App History) buttons started to become unresponsive. I have restarted so many time just to exit an app. Firstly my basic and short term solution was to install a 3rd party on screen button app from the play store, this would put a second set of on screen buttons above the stock on screen buttons. But before this I noticed that the on screen buttons actually worked when rotated so that instead of being on the bottom of the screen they would be on top. The on screen buttons also work when i boot into recovery mode, my custom recovery is TWRP. I also wiped dalvik cache and reinstalled my apps through the recovery setup. I dont know whats going on, I even made it so that when my on screen buttons moved to the top of the screen, i would click on apps from the bottom of the screen and it would work. It doesnt seem to be a hardware issue as i have confirmed it to be working through TWRP and tapping on apps from the bottom of the screen, confirming that my touch screen is working perfectly Help me plez.

So I'm finally gonna buy a new phone, I've decided to buy the new Asus Zenfone 3 Max. Fits all my needs and has decent computing power. The thing is, I'm not sure about rooting it because... I don't really know how much could I benefit from doing so. I know some of the advantages (eliminating preinstalled bloatware, bypassing the play store, all the google ecosystem...), but I fail to see other benefits. Could you highlight the most important ones? I'm a computer science student so customization and OS programming are strong bonuses. As always, thanks in advance.

CM 14.1 install on One Plus 3 causing havoc
Garlando Calrissian posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
Hi all, i recently installed the one plus 3 build of Cyanogen mod 14.1 on my one plus 3 through flashing the rom in twerp along with the GAPS zip containing all google apps, as soon as i did however problems started to arise, for a start google phone refuses to open no matter what I tried and even after installing a 3rd party app phone calls are tinny and the person on the other side can hear themselves twice/three times when they talk, apps like Snapchat, Facebook, chrome and even file manager randomly give "app has stopped" messages even if the apps haven't been opened. This, understandably is annoying as hell and i tried to boot into twerp to re flash the latest build of Oxygen OS downloaded straight from One plus' website but as I turned off the phone and rebooted it holding the power and volume down buttons and choosing the recovery option from the boot menu and watching the 1+ logo then nothing, the phone black screens and i have to force a reboot by holding down the power button. Due to this I can't boot into twerp and re-flash Oxygen Os and I'm stuck with a broken OS on my phone.i really need your help guys because my phone is basically broken, any replies are greatly appreciated Thanks.- 5 replies

Hello, I recently rooted my Nexus 6P and installed Nitrogen OS on it. While I was installing it, I dropped the phone onto the ground, and the USB cable fell out. I formatted it and began to reinstall the OS. I used TWERP. Currently the auto rotation is not working. I downloaded an app which has a ball which moves when you tilt the phone. It works. I also tried google cardboard, it works. I also tried CPUz, the sensors don't seem to be working well. I tried another app, the graph works, but for some reason the compass didn't (compass worked in other apps). I'm confused, hope its not hardware. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks. EDIT: I have tried to hit it and drop it in order to fix it (that's what other threads said), didn't work. Also, I dropped the phone many times from different heights, so the drop while installing the OS was quite small. The phone always worked perfectly fine. I believe its either the small drop or the software that's causing the problem. I'm confused why some apps work whilst others don't. My guess is it's maybe because the sensors work, but they aren't strong, so some games see that it's changing slightly, but the OS sees it as too small, and isn't as sensitive as certain apps may be? I really don't know, and I'm a bit stressed.

Hi. I've been struggling to get a working version of Cyanogen mod or lineage os on my galaxy tab 2 GT-P5113. I've gone through the works and have gotten both os's on the device but always struggle with getting gapps installed. I used the arm 6.0 nano file and installed it with twrp and still can't get it to work. Usually getting errors and messages like google play has stopped, clock has stopped, etc. If you have any trouble shooting tips or need more info please let me know.

What happens if one accidentally or deliberately selects all the files and folder from any android phones root directory (Internal memory only) (not SD card) and deletes ? 1. Will it successfully be able to delete everything or will keep the critical files and delete user data only ? 2. If it does manage to delete all, will it result in a hard brick ? or can be recovered by flashing the recovery again ? 3. It it soft bricks, does one need to still flash the recovery or a simple hard reboot shoud bring all back ? ("all" System files only) I have a oneplus 2 stock 64gb, if we talk in reference to that,it can help me a little more. Thanks guys, CHEERS!

So today I installed kingroot apk on my android phone in order to root it from the phone. The phone got rooted and everything was fine. But since rooting the phone, I downloaded and captured around 10-20 images on my phone. All of which were being shown on the sd card after downloading/capturing. But as soon as I got out from file manager, I couldn't find the photos anymore. All of the photos were simply gone. Along with the folder I created. Basically every action I took since rooting the phone were reverted. And android play store was showing a warning to uninstall kingroot. Now even after uninstall, and looking for the photos using pc and unhiding all system files, and hidden files, I still cannot find a thing. Can anyone tell me what could've happened here? And is there any probability that the kingroot apk was uploading and removing my photos from my card on the background ?

so i am an android power user i root all my phones regardless of their warranty but i never really bought a high-end phone. The thing is i just saved enough money to buy note 8 exynos version in USA cause apparently it's almost impossible to root the snapdragon version so my questions are 1. if i buy a note 8 exynos in us do i even get a warranty? 2. if it covers the warranty will i get the hardware malfunction warranty if i root it? 3. someone said to me buy an additional warranty to cover the phone when you root it. is this true? 4.should i buy it from Amazon or www.bhphotovideo.com? or another website ?

I'm facing a sort of infinite loop here. I'm considering rooting and/or flashing custom ROMs into my android phone for a number of reasons. So far, nothing is working well (ADB works randomly, programs that require ADB also work randomly, etc), but when dealing with prehistoric 1980s-style computers Android this isn't at all unexpected. I'm willing to invest some time and end up worse that I currently am in the process, so long as I can revert to defaults. And that's where the real problem comes: every guide on the matter suggests backing up the stock software in case things go wrong, which given other users's experiences seems very reasonable. The problem is, all suggested backup methods involve a rooted phone. And all rooting guides suggest backing up first, because rooting can also lead to infinite reboot loops. However, at that point they link to backup guides... which require phone rooting. So my question: is there any way I can cover myself against terminal failure before rooting the phone (i.e., in case the rooting attempt bricks it)?

I just turned one of my old laptops into some of a VPS with Ubuntu Server; just to mess around on. But im having an issue... I'd like to trasnfer some files over using FileZilla (SFTP), but using my normal login with wont work as it wont let me upload files without root access. I've tried using passwd -u root, and it comes back with it has been successfuly unlocked and i changed the password to just "test" for now. But its still not working... I can login with root on the laptop itself, but using SSH or SFTP it still says "access denied" or "Authentication failed.". Any help? Im fairly new to all this linux-based server stuff, so sorry if this is a given and im just dumb...

An exploit has been discovered that affects A LOT of linux distro's. luckily there is an easy fix available that you can implement yourself quite easily. How to exploit this vulnerability? Give cryptosetup any password 93 times and a shell with root privileges pops up. So hold enter for about 70 seconds and you're in like flynn. What does this actually allow the attacker to do? The attacker can read or write anything to desire from or to the disk. the attacker can implement a script for later local user privilege escalation. Mitigrating against this attack is pretty easy, you just have to edit the boot configuration and add this: sed -i 's/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="panic=5 /' /etc/default/grub grub-install sources: http://thehackernews.com/2016/11/hacking-linux-system.html http://hmarco.org/bugs/CVE-2016-4484/CVE-2016-4484_cryptsetup_initrd_shell.html

Have a Galaxy S6 G920T, TMobile version, that needs serious help at this point. I've tried searching through the XDA website but my version of the phone doesn't seem to be that popular and supported. Do you guys have any roms that would help breathe new life to this dying phone of mine?

Hi all, this is my first post in a while, with asking help, questions for my wondering topic. I saw LTT do a Android vs Iphone video with a rooted/ rommed G3 and a new battery as the Android test subject. I too had a G3, a AT&T USA model. When i saw how the guys put new life into such an old phone, i was perplexed. I have rooted that phone with a custom rom before, but never to that degree of, well, how good it looked and ran. I always thought the LG G4 rom was cool and what i wanted(this was back in 2015 i tried all this). But sadly, many apps didnt work well with the rom, some, such as Snapchat, outright seeing the root code and blocking me from using it or my Chase Bank app said it was too old of a software version. My question is, is there a workaround for this kind of thing? Is rooting and Custom romming a G3 any easier than it once was? And, with me having a few back up phones(work supplied) that have newer updates waiting should my current s7 active fail, is it EVEN WORTH me going through the hassle to bring the g3 back? I'm up for getting my monies worth out of th phone, as i paid for that one myself, but if its a hassle, or many features wont work, i cant be bothered to do any of it. Yknow? Thanks for being a cool community and id appreciate any help.
