Im having issues connecting to my network to find the backup location of my system images. I have tried the default windows method: Advanced Startup > Restore System Image I also have UrBackup (restore USB 2.4.2 x64) But both methods fail to connect to my network. I assume this is because the network drivers are missing from these OS's My windows OS is an LTSC version, I wonder can I install drivers into this USB iso? And same question for the UrBackup USB? If not I would be looking for a different restore solution that is compatible with modern windows systems My network controllers are: Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I226-V Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz MOBO: MSI MAG Z790 Tomohawk wifi (MS-7D91) Urbackup restore: Windows restore: I get to the point I can enter the server IP/share, then the credentials window pop up. Once correct credentials are entered, the window refreshes back to the same, as if I had entered the wrong credentials. I assume this means it cannot find the network location. And network search bar continues searching.

Hi everyone In short... i was stupid. I resetted my wifes phone because it had problems. We saved all data beforehand, made sure all syncing accounts did sync and copied all folders from SD-Card and internal storage (everything that was accessible without root) and then resetted the phone. After restoring we found out, that all notes in the Samsung Notes app didnt sync and seem to be lost. Luckily I have a nice wife, so i still have my head, but she is still quite sad, is there any way to restore the notes? did it save it in one of the folders i copied? i copied all folders, icluding the Android folder. The Phone is a Samsung s20 FE I know chances look very bad, but if there should be some magic i dont know about, i would be very happy... Thanks in Advance...

Alright, this stuff is one of my weak spots because it's a whole different beast to me from "computer no worky" This sounds weird, but I'll try to make this short and to the point. I have a desktop, laptop, and phone. I play Cookie Clicker, on my desktop, on Brave browser, since a VERY early release of Brave. I used Firefox as my main browser until 2 days ago, when I decided to move to Brave full-time. Brave would not auto-update because I had such an old build, so I downloaded the latest Brave on Desktop. Install new Brave, it opens, everything is great. Decide to sync data with laptop and phone using a Brave Sync Chain. Sync desktop. Open bookmark for CookieClicker, which says my current cookie total of a couple hundred duovigintillion cookies. CookieClicker now opens like a new page. "Welcome! 0 cookies in bank! Please accept cookies!" Panic. (This is a 7+ year file with thousands of hours in it.) Use system restore to go back to Windows restore point from 2 days ago. Brave shortcut is blank. No file. Install Brave again. No Cookies in game. Go back to restore point again. Check programs list. Brave is there. Can't locate old cookies. Can't locate Brave exe. Is there any way to find the cookies that were in my browser 2 days ago, from before I updated Brave? Should I undo the restore point and look for it? Can I use a file recovery software to get my cookies back? I've never needed to mess with website info like this before, so I'm totally blind and REALLY don't want to lose a save file I've been using to content with my son's file since 2015. I have all of today off, so I have plenty of time to mess with this doing whatever I need to. Edit: I NEVER clicked anything that said to wipe cookies, delete cache, delete data, or overwrite anything. I didn't even delete the old version of Brave when I installed the new one. They were somehow both installed for the few minutes before I went to the system restore. Recycle bin has nothing in it, either. I just want my (literal) cookies back, please...

I'm about to restore/erase my old gaming PC, first time for me on a Windows system, and I'd like to know if I'm following "best practice" here. Apart from the obvious such as backing up files that I want to keep around, is this this plan the best one I could follow to really have a peace of mind selling or recycling the system? I've got 2 SSDs by different manufactures, 2nd one has only had games on it. Run Windows restore tool with "Clean data" ticked Use the drive manufactures secure erase tools(or is this overkill?) Sell/recycle PC (without drives?) Is there anything else you usually do when you're about to get rid of an old system? Also, do you usually log out of everything before erasing or do you just skip that?

Having an issue right now in which randomly I was using my laptop and I realised Spotify wasn't opening. I had other applications open at this point and they were working fine. I did a restart and then once I did I am unable to open most applications (Steam, Discord, Spotify), they do not even appear in task manager. While troubleshooting I realised my GeForce experience wont open and gives the error code 0x0003. I tried reinstalling Geforce experience but the uninstaller crashes, I have tried restarting the NVIDIA services to no avail. This issue started around when I either downloaded the new version of unity or downloading Surfshark. I did a system restore and it said that it failed and could be due to my antivirus (Which in this case would be Malwarebytes). I have done a system file check for corrupted files and nothing, I have done a virus scan on both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender. I have disabled all start up apps and also reinstalled Armory Crate. Another weird not is that when the problem started initially Discord uninstalled itself, and I am unable to download it again as the installer won't even run (even in administrator). I believed this could have been an issue with app permissions after the error code from GeForce Experience but I tried methods for that and nothing has changed. Hope someone can help thanks. Hi dear forum, my name is Narek. Recently I reinstalled the Windows and after discovered that I lost all my family photos(almost 600gb). I tried to install it using my flash drive and went into Bios then I did reinstallation process. Pc has only one HDD(2 partitions) and both OS and images/videos were on that. Now I'm trying to use different apps, but not sure that they can help me. What do I need to do to get all those data back? I know that you can help me that's why I'm begging you for help.

Hey Guys, Thank you for reading - I need some help in identifying the best way to connect a older 6GB HDD. Context: This is a HDD from an old iRiver recorder that has stopped turning on. I've taken the HDD out and looking to connect to windows, and fingers crossed, it pops up like a removable HDD. It currently uses a flat flex ribbon cable, ATA-33 connector, however I'm struggling to find an adapter that would allow me to plug this into either a USB port, SATA, or even simply copy the data to flash storage. I've found something similar (Converter) for Toshiba drives, but am struggling for this drive. I've contacted seagate's tech support who suggested I many need to daisy chain adapters, but did not give any further details on the type of adapters required. I've added some pictures, any advice or guidance here? Model: ST650211FX Connector: ATA-33 More information: https://testhdd.com/Seagate-ST1-Series-ST650211FX-hard-drive-5-GB-ATA-33-17.html

I just bought an x570 board and a Ryzen 9. I'm upgrading from x99. I want to be able to move my data and hopefully software as seamlessly as possible as I have about 300-400 pieces of software installed and it would take forever to reinstall everything. What would be the best course of action for me to upgrade this with as little headache as possible? Is there a way to back up my instance of windows with software and restore to it after the upgrade? All of data and software live on C:// My games and media live on D://, E://, and my NAS

I recently installed Windows 10 off of a USB drive, having previously used the media creation software tool. However, upon booting up, it did not allow me to install the OS on the Samsung EVO M.2 and instead installed Windows 10 on another SSD. Even though the M.2 is showing up in the BIOS, I am not able to find it within windows (even within the disk partitioning app). I would like very much to try again and reset my storage devices to their state before I booted through windows. Is there a way to reinstall/format/restore the storage devices and BIOS settings in order to reinstall the OS? I am using an Asus ROG z390-e gaming motherboard, a seagate 3tb HDD (which has inexplicably been partitioned in ⅔ and ⅓), a Samsung 960 pro NVMe 1tb (where it installed windows 10), and a Samsung EVO 870 NVMe 2tb (which is where I originally wanted to install windows 10). Any assistance and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, kindly!

So Game Pass for PC is broken. I had 200gb of games downloaded, canceled my subscription, and uninstalled all the games, but Game Pass only gave me 123gb of my space back. I found that all the games installation files are stored in the hidden folder 'WindowApps'. I tried several times to delete the folders inside WindowsApps, as the WindowsApps folder took up 77gb of my precious M.2 space. I accidentally found a solution/new problem by deleting the entirety of the 'WindowsApps' folder. It didn't delete EVERY folder in there, it said some of them were being used at the time, and I only wanted rid of the games that Windows wouldn't let me access, for example my PC still boots up, but apps don't. I can't open any Microsoft apps, or the the Microsoft store. I tried going back to a restore point, but that didn't work. I looked into the 'Reset this PC' option, but it wanted to delete every video game I have installed, and seeing as I have 5.5tb of video games downloaded, and my max internet speed in 2MB/s, that's is NOT an option. I want my PC to function properly. I don't use any apps really, but I don't want Windows to be broken, and I don't want to delete 5.5tb of my steam games. Is there a way to restore the apps? Is there somewhere I could download the default WindowsApps folder? I have a CD with a Windows 10 ISO, is there a way to reset windows, without deleting ANY of my files, or my video games? I worry if there is a Windows Update, and I don't have the contents of WindowsApps folder, that I won't be able to boot.

Hello everyone I installed W10 and stupidly chose the wrong disk for MBR to GPT. I did it during installation via diskpart - clean - convert gpt. I already tried Remo Recover and EaseUS Data Recovery. Both did an OK job, but both left A LOT of "lost" files. Files that lost folder structure or got renamed. Is there any other program you recommend I try? It's a one terabyte disk, single partition, almost completely full. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I accidentally deleted my Chrome User Data file without backing it up and lost all my history, open tabs and extension settings. Is there a way to restore it? I already tried the restore previous versions settings but I don't have file recovery set up so it didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After an update Windows won't boot, repair or reset. It won't roll back to an older version or restore point. chkdsk returns no errors and sfc scannow returns 'recourse protection could not perform the requested operation'. I'm running Windows 10

Hi guys, I’m about to sell off my old gaming computer and I intend to securely erase my data off. I don’t have the Windows 7 installation disc with me (might have accidentally thrown it away). After some research, I found that there are two ways to write zeros on my SSD and HDD: one through diskpart and another also through command prompt but utility command like “format g: /fs:NTFS /p:2”. My question is that is it possible to use either of these two methods to write zeros on my SSD where Windows 7 is installed whereby the new user can then install either Windows 7/8/10 on the PC? Looking forward to your replies. Cheers.

Hey everyone, I am facing this issue where when I boot my system and after filling the password I am welcomed by a black screen with command prompt on it(System 32). someone told me to type in "explorer.exe" to retrieve the desktop back; and it sure did.But that was a temporary fix,now every time i boot my system i am greeted by this black screen and every time i have to type in the command to get the desktop. I have tried sfc/scannow command on cmd but did not help....there were no error. I was planning to restore my system to a safe point...but since i did not enable that feature i could not do so. I did not want to reinstall windows as it said i can keep the personal files but the apps that i installed would be deleted. I got lots of apps and games and i dont want to waste time reinstalling them, although they were installed on separate HDDs whereas the OS(WINDOWS 10) is on my SSD. Anyone who faced the same problem? can anyone fix it? Please do help me out.

Problem is , I can't remember which files , they've been in the recycle bin since ages , so , just knowing the original location doesn't help at all. Hi all, I have a corrupted hard drive, but i know that it still has data on it, because I used recuva to get some stuff off of it (mainly pictures). I know there's more stuff on it, because I used m3 data recovery tool, and it showed me what was in it, but you have to pay $70 after the first 1gb of data recovered... so i was wondering what the best FREE alternative to m3datarecovery tool would be, as i want to get everything off of the drive. Thanks in advance!
