It's my dream to one day own my own computer shop... And not some small town job, I mean something big. A franchise even, of just like, little 1000 sq-ft computer shops all over the US and Canada offering true repairs and installations and new computers to everyone, but... The issue is? Trying to start it in a small town like mine. Does anyone have any tips? Maybe offer me some business? I'm good at what I do, and I'll only be hiring people that know what they're doing. Also, if anyone has a name better than Ctrl-Alt-Delete Task Managers, let me know :D

So, I love my laptop for all it has been. Until 3 weeks ago, when it started shutting off at random. I was in Google Docs, and it shut off. So, I thought, "Hey, the battery is dead", but no. The battery was at 24% charge. If it was dead, it would hibernate and resume once plugged in. But it had crashed Windows, and shut all the way down without my permission just using 2 tabs in Chrome. It is not overheating, and I ran antivirus and antimalware software on it. Nothing came up, except a few root files from a game and a bitcoin miner. So, what can be going wrong? To fix it, I have to plug the computer in. That's not right. What is happening? Asus X54C Pentium B960 4GB 1333 MHz RAM Windows 7 Home Premium Running off battery

So here's the deal, I recently finished building my first computer. I installed Windows 8. Feeling good . Anyways, I recently noticed that whenever I turn on my computer for the first time after normally shutting down, it will turn off by itself on the first boot up of the day. After it turns off I might get lucky for it to only freeze on me. After the 3rd time of turning it back on it works fine and I no longer have any problems. What should I do? I'll list the parts that I have in case it helps: 1. Corsair Hydro Series High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H602. AMD Radeon Memory Performance Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) CL9 1.5V Unbuffered Internal Memory Module 3. Corsair Carbide Series 200R Windowed Compact ATX Case 4. AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition 5. Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1800 AMD Motherboard GA-970A-UD3P 6. Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V 552 Power Supply CX600M 7. Toshiba 3.5-Inch 1TB 7200 RPM SATA3/SATA 6.0 GB/s 32MB Hard Drive DT01ACA100 If there is any other info that I can post in order to help me with this issue that I may have missed, please let me know. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hello everyone. I have an annoying problem - from the moment I installed Windows 8.1 (after 3 years of using Windows 7) I started getting random (sometimes not so random) sounds when you connect and then disconnect a device. It's never only connect or only disconnect sound - it's always disconnected and then connected device sound. I didn't have that problem on Windows 7. It happens almost 8 out of 10 times when I'm - Starting up my system - Starting a game (Battlefield 4 or League of Legends, what's funny - it doesn't happen when I'm starting/playing Diablo 3: RoS) - Turning off/on router switch (Livebox 3.0) What I tried: - Using different ports for my mouse and headset (tested all of them) - Disconnecting headset and using different USB mouse - Installed newest drivers from Nvidia, Roccat, Logitech and Asus sites (all for Windows 8 or 8.1 x64) - Tingling with power saving in device manager I don't wan't to believe that any of my motherboard/case ports could start acting up because I'm not using them at all. I'm not even connecting any flash sticks and PC is standing in one place all the time. PC Spec: DXDIAG: If I can provide any logs you might need just tell me. I'd like to solve that problem because it's driving me crazy! Thank you in advance.

Hey forum, I'm currently in safe mode (my eyes hurt) and that is because my mouse, or I should say something on the software level related to the mouse, just went completely haywire and is about to make me do the same. I get this random clicking about 3-5 times a second, very fast, and the left- and rightclick seem to be taking turns with it. It started about an hour ago when my mouse started holding the leftclick even after I had let the physical button go. From there it rapidly got worse until I am now at the point where I can only use the PC in safe mode, because I can't even enter my windows password because of the clicking. It's not a hardware problem, I've already tested a different mouse and everything works fine in safe mode. I personally suspect it may be a virus, even though I can't remember downloading anything from any sketchy websites, lately. But the way it started slowly and became so bad it rendered the whole computer pretty much useless, it just smells like virus to me. I have Avast! and its on auto-update, so I'm not sure how that got past, but anyways... Now I'm stuck in safe mode and don't know what to do. I'm currently letting Avast run a complete scan and hope it finds something. Has anybody had this problem before, any ideas on what it could be and what I can do to get rid of it ASAP? I hate safe mode...

So I was wondering how much the people of LTT protect their accounts. Personally I use different passwords on all of my sites, each at least 100 characters long, and gets stored in LastPass. I use 2 step verification where possible. The weakest link in my security is my LastPass password, which is only roughly 50 characters long. I am starting to change all of my accounts to a separate email that is just for accounts, and I don't send emails from it.

EDIT: FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO DL THE 7Z FILE USE THIS LINK: http://yourlisten.com/Picker/0-intro-listen-to-the-intro-pweaz I posted this in the audio section but don't know if it would qualify more for this section, so i will post it here too, that way I do not need to wait for replies and it will still be posted in the right section eventually. Thee calls themselves "audiophiles" But are thee really? Solving what instrument is being played in these "audio files" Will determine the truth, I feel-y. So indulge thee's ears Along with your audiophile wannabee peers To take the test of qualification. If you succeed, that will indeed, Serve as your audiophile certification. HINT: THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS. ps: For track 11, just identify the percussion instrument in the beginning, which is played a few other times throughout the track *insert mystical medieval old man stuff here* LINK TO FILES: https://www.mediafire.com/?s7gy9854zn0m03s First one to get them all correct receives the prize of me using that voice to say whatever they want, max time limit of audio file I use the voice in being 10 minutes. What's that? Don't like the voice? Then I can get Sawako Chan to get you a special present, the likes of which will be discussed later, for obvious reasons.

Hello all, I assembled my computer last August, and everything's been working splendidly up until from earlier this month. I even managed to install Mac OS X on it, and it worked lovelily with a Windows 8.1 & os x dual boot. PROBLEM: My computer, since last month, keeps randomly restarting. I have tried to pin it down to faulty software or a faulty hard drive, but it happens on both OS X and 8.1, and the software I have open at that time, obviously, do not matter. There is no pattern to the restarts. Sometimes, it will restart right after I boot up, and sometimes, the system will be rock solid, running for 3-4 days straight. My PC parts are here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3vAQ6 The only reason I have a 1000W PSU is because I want to get another graphics card in the near future, and the 850W version was out of supply when I purchased this. Any help with this will be helpful. If, as I fear, it is a PSU problem, how do I troubleshoot a faulty PSU?

So today is my birthday. Here's a poll. As it says, after 10 votes, something will happen based upon the number. Just figured this would be the best way to do it.

I am looking to get a new pair of headphones, my budget is probably around up to $200 usd. I like to listen to music alot, I like bass and overall nice sound. I also do a lot of gaming, BF3 and other shooters. I have heard that Sennheiser hd 5xx headphones are good, but I don't know. I would prefer to get over-ear headphones too as that is what I have right now. Also, I will be using onboard sound on a Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H.

So you know that thing from a while back where "15-YEAR-OLD INVENTS FLASHLIGHT POWERED BY BODY HEAT". It got me thinking, if the heat from your body can power a couple of LEDs in a torch, how much heat can the combination of a GPU, CPU etc produce to power maybe a PSU. Of course the CPU and GPU would burn out from having no cooling but what if they could sustain themselves without cooling of any kind. Imagine what we could do. Recycled heat from CPU and GPU powering PSU in a continuous loop; therefore no need to plug into the wall; therefore less energy used; therefore less on the electricity bill; therefore more environmentally friendly? I know there are probably a million things that are wrong with this but in the future, who knows? I just had to get it out there...

Hey guys, this is really special, have a look at this situation. I have, in a separate sheet, a list that goes from A1 to A80 with names of people. In another sheet I have something that looks a bit like this: RND PICKER? FIRST LETTER OF NAME HOW MANY? PICKED: I want this to happen: If I put YES in "RND PICKER?" nothing will happen until I put a number in "HOW MANY DO YOU WANT". This number can be from 1 to 80, meaning it will return between 1 and 80 names from the list, any random name. Now, if I wanted only names with a letter in the beggining, say L, I want the list in PICKED to contain names only with the letter L (the amount specified). And that letter can be anything from A-Z. How can I go about this? If you need any other info. just ask away

For the last few days whenever any device has been used for browsing the internet would be working fine for a very short period of time and then all of a sudden just timeouts. Both cabled and wireless devices have been experiencing the timeouts. Programs such as steam continue to receive packets even when the browsers are timing out and game connections remain up and connected as well. I've turned the router, modem, computer and every possible off and on again.

So, what happened it just started like 2-3 days ago when the mouse keeps randomly disconnecting/unplugging(the windows unplugging/plugging sound comes too). If I lift it and reverse it (the backside, up) it disconnects, and it comes back again in like 1 to 10 seconds(randomly), this can happen on mouse movement too, not only when lifting. Moved it fast on the table, forced it, didn`t got unplugged/disconnected. But when suddenly lifting it, gets disconnected and then it comes back.. Conclusion: The problem happens randomly when moving it; happens very often when lifting it. Noticed that sometimes when it gets disconnected, "USB not recognized" it pops up for a tiny second(but not always). Tried: Updating the firmware; moving it to other USB(the usbs can`t be the problem due using the keyboard arctosa and working perfectly fine).
