Hi all, I recently got a bonus and decided to treat my daughter who been using a 11 year old PC to something better, I got it from Cyberpower from a presale at $1450 or so total, it was cheaper than what I could build my self, and given the GPU shortage of the 3070 it was a no brainer. but I noticed that the power supply being listed as "standard" and remembering my own system being fried by an "standard" power supply from a old prebuild vendor before. I would love it if any of you guys can help me find a proper replacement PSU for my daughter's pc. I'm not confidence in finding these new parts as I'm not very familiar with the newer stuff, some being single rails, multi rails and what not and old me can't really tell what would connect to the parts I have. Thank you so much in advance; Here's are the PC : CASE: Eclipse P418R DRGB ATX Mid-Tower High Air Flow Gaming Case + 3x 120mm ARGB Fans CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i9-10900KF 10/20 3.70GHz [Turbo 5.2GHz] 20MB Cache LGA1200 [w/o Integrated Graphic] (Comet Lake-S) FAN: MasterLiquid Lite 120mm ARGB CPU Liquid Cooler with Dual Chamber Pump & Copper Cold Plate HDD: 1TB Intel® 665P SERIES PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD - Seq R/W: Up to 2000/1925 MB/s, Rnd R/W up to 160/250k (Single Drive) HDD2: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 256MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive) MEMORY: 32GB (8GBx4) DDR4/3000MHz Dual Channel Memory (Crucial Ballistix Sport) MOTHERBOARD: ASUS PRIME Z490-V ATX, ARGB, 1GbE LAN, 2 PCIe x16, 4 PCIe x1, 4 SATA3, 2x M.2 SATA/PCIe + WiFi 6 Intel 201AX NETWORK: Onboard Gigabit LAN Network OS: Windows 10 Home (64-bit Edition) POWERSUPPLY: 600 Watts - Standard 600Watts 80 Plus Gold high-efficient Power Supply VIDEO: GeForce RTX™ 3070 8GB GDDR6

So my friend has an HP prebuilt as his PC, exact model is the HP 570 P024D specs: i5-7400 8GB DDR4 GT 730 product page He wants to be able to play games on it, it would be easy to say to just slap in a GPU and call it a day but this is where I hit my PC knowledge limit, he has a 180W psu in there. We were planning to have a GTX 1050 ti or a 1650 super in there but due to low wattage, it didn't really happen. The question is if I can just slap in a regular ATX PSU in there with no problems. The PSU in there is a "180 W uATX aPFC internal power supply" I have never heard of a uATX psu, only of ATX, and mATX, etc., plus I dont really know much about them. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, last year I got a prebuilt (don’t scream at me lmao) and it came with a wifi adapter installed. I have an ethernet cable plugged in so there isn’t really a use for it. However I have no idea how to uninstall it. Thank you! (Don’t mind the dust)

Hey guys, I'm planning to upgrade to the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs and the new Nvidia RTX 3000 GPUs in what's going to be my first PC build. I'm planning on selling my old desktop to pay for some of the parts. I'll list the specs at the bottom of the post. I can't really find any reliable sources online and wondered if you guys can help me out. Thanks, and merry Christmas everyone! Specs: Alienware Arura R7 Intel Core i7-8700 (3.20 GHz) 16 GB Ram MSI Gaming X GeForce 1660 Super (No hard drive, I'm using that in my new build but the desktop originally had a 2 TB Hard Drive) PC originally shipped with a 1050 ti and is well kept.

Looking to buy a prebuilt computer. I'd like to run two monitors from it. Run games like Outer Worlds and WoW. I also need it to be able to run solidworks, inventor, fusion 3d, etc.. a 512gb ssd and a 1tb secondary drive would be ideal. I've looked at few places such as IBuyPower, Cyberpower pc, new egg, etc.. Part of the problem I'm having is I don't know which pC parts I necessarily want- I just know what i'd like out of them. Maybe $1500 is unrealistic, but it's what i've got for this. Is this an appropriate place to ask for help in choosing a FULL Prebuilt gaming desktop?

Hi all, I've recently purchased a system for my daughter to be shipped by end of February from Cyberpower, While I would've been more comfortable building the PC my self, the shortage of 3000's series card make it extremely hard to do so. The PC was part of a very..short sale that I managed to land, so I believe this is a good deal for the money considering the spec. the only thing I'm really skeptical about is their build quality or customer service, I looked them up on forum and they are littered with complaints. my last pre-built was made by iBuyPower and it has been a solid PC for 9 years now, I don't know much about Cyberpower though. as Initially I intended to get my PC done by NZXT BLD, but their pricing is far higher, though I believe they have a bit better reputation in quality. After watching Linus Prebuilt series, at least it seems IBP is more competence in handling your PC/CS. I wonder if the reviews as bad as they are for Cyberpower, I could wait for the system to ship and if push come shove if it get bad, I can try NZXT BLD instead. Has anyone here ever had an experience with Cyberpower? The PC CASE: Eclipse P418R DRGB ATX Mid-Tower High Air Flow Gaming Case + 3x 120mm ARGB Fans VIDEO: GeForce RTX™ 3070 8GB GDDR6 CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i9-10900KF 10/20 3.70GHz [Turbo 5.2GHz] 20MB Cache LGA1200 [w/o Integrated Graphic] (Comet Lake-S) FAN: MasterLiquid Lite 120mm ARGB CPU Liquid Cooler with Dual Chamber Pump & Copper Cold Plate HDD: 1TB Intel® 665P SERIES PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD - Seq R/W: Up to 2000/1925 MB/s, Rnd R/W up to 160/250k(Single Drive) HDD2: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 256MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive) MEMORY: 32GB (8GBx4) DDR4/3000MHz Dual Channel Memory (Crucial Ballistix Sport) MOTHERBOARD: ASUS PRIME Z490-V ATX, ARGB, 1GbE LAN, 2 PCIe x16, 4 PCIe x1, 4 SATA3, 2x M.2 SATA/PCIe + WiFi 6 Intel 201AX POWERSUPPLY: 600 Watts - Standard 600Watts 80 Plus Gold high-efficient Power Supply Total : $1570 aside the notorious standard PSU that I will need swap out for the safety of the PC, I think this isn't bad.

I'm out of ideas. His pc specs are great, the monitor he uses is just a simple 4k 32" thing from samsung, he doesn't run much but discord and a video game, yet nothing will run on his pc. Path of exile, crash on title screen, PUBG, crashing on loading screen, Apex legends, after an hour of troubleshooting with me at home directing him through so many things would load, would let us get into games, but would crash just randomly, one game we made it through everything and he never crashed once until it ended. Another game he could load in but as soon as he fired the thing crashed, he has graphic artifacts that I just can't figure out, sometimes with V-sync enabled things run without them for the most part. even WOW will crash if vysnc isn't on. the computer was returned once before because the radiator straight up wasn't working. but I cant seem to figure it out. computer has no issues artifacts on home screen, he has never ounce messed with the overclocking past what it defaulted to. he has to downgrade everything to below low setting to just make it into a lobby of anything. If anyone wants more info let me know. Wen have yet to open up or mess with the bios, I'll probably head over there tomorrow to look at that, if anyone has thoughts or suggestions let me know. most of my searches for similar problems are fixed with GeForce updates, but his is completely up to date. One of the things I did was swap him monitor from native 3840 x 2160 to 1920X1080, which just now seems to have fixed POE, oh god I hate this pc. https://imgur.com/egaKNiX The below video shows off the common graphical artefact he runs into, ignore the error code given. https://imgur.com/WPQcHrI

While this is not fully accurate use of such an idea, but just wanted to make a thread and if people just throw a few cents around? Stickers for "competitive use" laptops, with a date like year and version number 1 - 4 by update numbers per year (2021 01) which can be searched up to what games it would support for that rating (bad about things can always change). With that and an setting rating + FPS count rating. So that with this machine, you will get (60-120-240) fps average on all these titles and with this setting = low, medium, high. so if you have an 4K screen you have to run it in 4K, although how it accounts for DLSS and raytracing or anything else? It might not be updated a lot, and it uses more of the top rated games in this period (which would be a lot of problems for updating) or the top competitive games in that time like laptop is from 2020 but using competitive games from 2018. were it would be a lot harder to know how good it might perform in recent or upcoming titles. or just an APP with a scan product name and can get tech people's info about it's performance and giving an overall rating for games, OC etc.

Hello everyone. Me and my grandfather are looking for some help. He has been using an old Win XP era pc for the past about 15 years now and he desperately wants an upgrade. The problem is, he doesn’t want to build a pc. He is looking for a computer that he can do modern web browsing on and that my grandmother can play Fishdom on. He would like a DVD-ROM drive so he can use his old media. The best thing I’ve found is this, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-desktop-intel-core-i5-12gb-memory-256gb-solid-state-drive-black-with-silver-trim/6334301.p?skuId=6334301, but I am looking for more suggestions. We would also need a new monitor, keyboard, and mouse, as they all use outdated and incompatible inputs like PS/2 Connectors and VGA. An AiO (All in One) desktop might work for him, but I am worried about those as in my past experience they have had unreliable cooling, were slow, and the included accessories were a waste of money and SUCKED. He probably doesn’t need a graphics card, and Intel would be preferable. All in all, something that can last him another 15 years.

Case swapped Acer Nitro N50-620 (Orion 3000 in different case) Yep! It looks way better in Cooleraster NR400 - case that fits custom mobo :). Managed to case swap it with stock mobo and psu, which btw have short cables and they are tightly resisting on mobo. Especially two 4 pin connectors on top of motherboard signed as ATX 2 and ATX 3. Also don't worry if your power supply makes weird noise when turned off... It is common issue for these, mine also have this issue sadly... I have mounted two led strips at top and front near the edge of glass side panel. It is some kind of RGB kit that you place on the back of your TV or screen... In case you are wondering it's controller is with USB controller that i dragged through case PCIE hole and hooked it up to power bank. Now time for fans. I mounted 120mm argb fans from Polish brand called Krux. Work pretty good for me. At the top i mounted stock Cooler Master fans that came with case. They are different since one is high airflow and second is static pressure. At the back I placed stock Acer 92mm Frostblade fan that came with my Nitro. This case don't officially support that side of fans but i managed to match fan's screw holes with honeycomb fan grille in case. I also mounted 3tb Toshiba HDD without any problems (notice that sata ports are under GPU so u have to remove it.) Now most important... TEMPS! Before case swap it went up to 88 celcius on CPU ( i5 11400f) and to 85 celcius on GPU (Acer OEM 3060 blower edition that really is Zotac GPU) After case swap temps on CPU changed to around 68 celcius and GPU up to 75. Temps measured in Valorant with afterburner. I'm also planning to mount one noctua fan outside case behind GPU ports, since it is blower card i will mount fan to blow heat from GPU exhaust holes. Things i was afraid of while building it: ------------------------------------------------------------ -Power button and reset button connections. This mobo don't have power pinouts signed in any way so I had to look it up on Google and found diagram for connections (diagram : https://linustechtips.com/uploads/monthly_2022_07/2tl49c1x70nr.webp.12197de1cbd149e2b00508022a7deb6c.webp ) Sadly my power button and reset led's didn't work. Besides that reset and power button works perfectly. Second thing i was afraid of is m.2 wifi card and it's antennas. If you are trying to remove antennas here is how to do it: 1. Unscrew the transparent cover at the top of m.2 wifi card. 2. Pull gently these small antenna cables from wifi card, BUT PULL THEM ONLY VERTICALLY!!! 3. Remove any tapes holding front and rear antenna cables and remove them from any clips. 4. For rear antenna you can see this kind of black plastic cover holding on 4 pins. Just press two left pins and then press two right fans and it will pop out. 5. Now most important! Notice that antennas are mounted with some kind of two side tape, so you have to get some kind of screwdriver and just undermine it so it will just unglue. Same with front antenna, but you have to just remove front panel (here is how to do it: https://us.v-cdn.net/6029997/uploads/editor/qb/nn1gsq1i7qco.jpg ) And after you unglued both antennas just pull the cable through hole. Please don't mount antennas on inside. Did that and signal was 10 times worse than before. Also do not mount front antenna behind front bezel, since this mesh isn't plastic. For front antenna just drag cable through this hole for taking off front panel on bottom and just leave it laying on your desk/floor. For back antenna just drag it through honey comb holes on rear top of case. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sadly Cooler Master made bottom front 120mm fans screw holes too small and i had to mount it with zipties... Should you case swap it? Definetly. Looking way better and temps also reduced. If you have any questions just write, i can help you Thanks.

I currently have a prebuilt I bought back in 2018 when I first wanted to get into pc gaming, I was trying to see if at this point am I better off upgrading parts or just built a new pc I Currently Have This Setup Cpu- i7-8700 Gpu- NVIDIA GTX 1060 Motherboard- 875-0014 Z370 LGA1151 MATX EDORAS MOTHERBOARD L23867-001 Ps-500W Monitor- 60Hz 1080p When I first bought my prebuilt I didn’t know anything about pc’s so I just really bought the first prebuilt I pretty much seen Here a link to the prebuilt for more details- https://www.bestbuy.com/site/omen-by-hp-obelisk-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i7-8700-16gb-memory-nvidia-gtx-1060-3gb-1tb-hdd-256gb-ssd-hp-finish-in-shadow-black/6285800.p?skuId=6285800 i want to upgrade this pc because of course it would be the cheapest option but at the same time it being a prebuilt I know upgrades are limited, I want to also future proof this but I see that a lot of these parts limit each other for example I want to throw in a 3080ti for the to future proof the GPU but it will bottle neck my current CPU and upgrading the cpu is only available to a i9-9700 but that will also bottle neck apparently according to the research I’ve done, so I would need a motherboard upgrade to even upgrade my cpu to even be compatible with the you that I want to run, Well the question is if I upgraded parts on my prebuilt what should I upgrade and is it worth it truly looking into the future or should I just make the jump to upgrade my whole setup, if I do upgrade my setup I think I’m set at gaming at 166Hz at 1440P for the upgrade, I just would need help picking other parts to stay in budget but still be able to run what I want comfortably, I think I’m set on running the 3080 ti so I would need a setup built around that GPU for under $2,000 USD i would gladly take any recommendations maybe I don’t need the 3080 and could make it even cheaper and it still run the setting I want comfortably, I’m still learning so sorry if I said anything dumb or that just doesn't make sense

I think it will work as long as the GPU fits in the PCIE slot, But it will look like shyte.

I have a HP Compaq 4000 Pro (SFF) PC that I wanted to buy a GPU for since it only has an integrated GPU. My cousin recommended me an Nvidia GT series GPU, A GT 610 one but he told me to make sure it fits into the PC, I know they aren't the best but I am trying to make this PC as cheap as possible to run some games, Can I fit a GT 610 into the PCI-e slot of the HP Compaq 4000 Pro (SFF) that I have? Pic: View: https://imgur.com/a/ogXJ4Vu Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz RAM: 4GB DDR3 (Dual Channel) GPU (integrated): Intel B43 Express Chipset Storage: 1x 80GB HDD, 1x 500GB HDD OS: Windows 10 (Home) Version: 21H1 build: 19043.1149 (normally you can only add 1 HDD, I added another by taking out the SATA cables from the DVD drive and using them with the second HDD, the DVD drive doesn't work anymore but I didn't use it anyway.) It has a PCI-e slot and I did some research and people say that a GT 610 can be added onto it, I hope it does!

Hello, I'm trying to upgrade a pre-built PC but I am not entirely sure about the compatibility of the components. Looking to upgrade just CPU and GPU - on a budget. I am unsure if the motherboard is compatible with either, nor if settings/configuration is ok to just swap them out. Current: Motherboard: Intel DQ67SW (Canada Ices-003 Class-B). CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500S CPU @ 2.70GHz [4x of these listed in Device Manager] GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 Chipset: Intel(R) 6Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 1C02 (only lists this one so I'm assuming it's the South Bridge & that North bridge operations done within CPU) System is from 2016(time windows was activated) My wants: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X GPU: GTX 1660 SUPER I'm happy with those two items as a combo(have not ordered anything yet), but if needs be I'll swap motherboard/whatever else(if this is the case then please list a good suggestion ) PS: I'm not tech-savvy so be easy on me & use simple language Feel free to ask for more information if needed.

Hi there! I'm looking to get my brother a pc for gaming and some very light video editing, and was wondering if there's a go-to for the somewhere between $900CAD (About $600USD) and $1200CAD (About $900USD). Prefererably, with an SSD in lieu of a hard-drive, as though the thing he probably hates the most about his current setup is the load times. Flashy rgb lights, a cool looking case, and other aesthetic things are not necessary (but if they happen to come with a great PC, I don't mind). Additionally, there's no preference between Win10 and Win11. Lastly, please don't reccomend Canada Computers -- I've had terrible experiences there, and all the reviews online I see are pretty bad as well. Thank you for the help!

Howdy gamers and tech friends! I have a topic I wanna hear your thoughts on! So recently, I got a credit card to start building my credit for my future. I'm young, a gamer and don't have many true expenses outside of a phone bill, rent and some odds and ends here and there. I was curious about your thoughts on financing a gaming PC and paying for it using the credit card? I can afford to pay the bill monthly but wonder if it's more responsible to use the credit card to pay for it to build credit. If you think it's an idea that is worth pursuing, what are some PC companies that you would recommend for financing? and are there any that will work with you for a billing plan? Looking to get a new computer soon and individual components are expensive so I figured a prebuilt would save money and time! Let me know thanks! :)

Hi there, I had an old prebuilt lying around so i decided to take it apart and do a case swap and some upgrades. But the problem i've come across is that there are no fan headers on the motherboard from what i can see. This is my first time doing this so i am a bit lost. Am i wrong about no fan headers being on the motherboard or not? If im correct what could i do to get the fans working with that motherboard? Here are the specs: Name : Acer Extensa M2610 CPU : i3 4th gen (cant remember exactly which model of the i3 it is but i know for sure its a 4th gen) RAM : 4GB at 1600mhz MOBO : Acer H81H3 AM V1 New Case : Corsair 220T comes with 3 SP120 RGB fans (planning on getting 3 more of the same ones) download.jfif download (1).jfif

Hey there! I've run into an issue I've run into an issue with a project I'm working on and have hit a wall. Components in question: HP omen 30l minus CPU/GPU Ryzen 5 3600 EVGA Gtx 980 (I know) EVGA 650 watt PSU All components are known good before install. My problem is that the computer posts an turns on, but does not display video. What I've done to remedy the situation: reseated CPU Reseated GPU Reseated ram, and used all four slots took out CMOS battery and let caps drain overnight and tried again Held win + V and pressed power button to reset BIOS. Used another known good working PSU My thoughts are, that the prebuilt came with a 3080 and there's a communication issue with the CPU and GPU as my 980 is PCI gen 3 But I have no idea how to remedy that or if there even is a remedy. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. I might buy a Dell Inspiron 3910 (I think?) with a 12400: https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-desktops-workstations/inspiron-desktop/spd/inspiron-3910-desktop/di3910_s6015m2f?gacd=9683780-3004-5761040-266662033-0&dgc=st&gclid=CjwKCAiAyfybBhBKEiwAgtB7fhJl9qlLD18W7LfkvCujpRtp0kp6p3f6JuO4A6VeBBpE0hDMxCHldRoC_48QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&nclid=X-oODAwECjyjumWS-Ewwzl1Q0AFoDSDm8p20QLPdXeZ7ig2OptYEw9UsFUOqCiJw The 12400's base clock speed is slower than a 12100's. In fact, its *base* speed is also slower than my current 3770 cpu. But 2 benchmark sites says 12400 is better than 12100. And 12400 has more cores! So it shouldn't matter, right? Is the 12400 clearly better for 3d animation, video editing? (and I might game. Might not, tho). Or could a smaller psu or inadequate cooling make the 12400 worse? i.e. Would I have to spend more money on extra fans or something? Blender's Benchmarks: https://opendata.blender.org/benchmarks/query/?compute_type=CPU&group_by=device_name&blender_version=3.3.0 (Type in 12100 or 12400. Higher score is better). CPU Benchmark: 12100: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i3-12100&id=4687 12400: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-12400&id=4677 My old 3770 cpu: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-3770+%40+3.40GHz&id=896 Also, any idea how its build quality would compare to a pc built for $750 Cad (free shipping)? Budget (including currency): Up to $300; <$200 Ideal Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: League of Legends, Left For Dead 2, GBA/DS ROMS & Fan Made Pokemon Games, Video Streaming & Watching DVDs Other details: Low End Gaming/Media PC @ 1080p low/medium for non AAA titles. *CURRENTLY IN PC: Processor: i5-7500 RAM: 1x8GB DDR4 @2400Mhz Graphics: Integrated Graphics PSU: 180W (Proprietary) Storage: 3.5" 500GB HDD WiFi: None (Should've came with it, but there is none installed at the moment) DVD Drive: Slim RW *IDEAL BUILD: Processor: i5-7500 (i7-7700 if I can fit in budget, but should be fine as is) RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 @2400Mhz Graphics: GTX 1650 Low Profile PSU: 180W (Proprietary) (Can't find suitable replacements) Storage: 500GB-1TB M.2 SSD WiFi: AX210 WiFi 6E Card DVD Drive: Slim RW *CONCERNS: -WIth the power supply rated for 180W, I'm concerned that I will exceed its power limit. My calculations have me at about 190W, I won't be able to run it. I've that a similar HP product (the 800 G3 SFF) could come w/ a 1050Ti which uses similar power draw @ 75W worked AND also used a 180W PSU. I want to keep the DVD Drive operable if possible as I use one in my main PC and personally like that flexibility. I have thought about installing a GT 1030 instead since it only uses 30W, but isn't my preferred as it won't be an adequate gamer. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I got this from a friend who was just looking to get rid of it and I wanna have a backup PC that I can have in my living room that's an "adequate" gaming PC for the price.
