Just finished a Ryzen build using the Apevia Destiny Mid-Tower Case: https://www.apevia.com/products-cases/destiny-flow-bk There is a problem with the Front Panel connectors, which I have never seen before. Here are the Front Panel Connectors coming from the case: HDD LED Power LED (One Positive, One Negative) LED SW There is no Reset cable (which is fine, because there is no Reset Button on the Front Panel). Main Problem: There is no Power Switch cable for the Front Panel. PC Behavior: I plugged in the HDD LED and POWER LED cables in their normal positions, and left the LED SW cable disconnected. When pressing the Power Button on the Front Panel, nothing happens. I used a screwdriver to jump the Power Switch pins on the motherboard, and the system turns on normally. When the system is powered-on, the Power Button on the Apevia Destiny actually changes the color of the Fan Lights. Very strange, and I have never seen this before. I just want to be able to plug everything in, and run the system normally. My plan: I was going to plug-in the Power LED cables into the POWER SWITCH pins on the motherboard, and then plug-in the LED SW cable (from the case) into the POWER LED pins on the motherboard. Are there any obvious mistakes here? Would this damage the motherboard (if so, why)?

Hello wise tech wizards. I need some help by people way smarter than me. So I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX which seemed to not start up. I tried to short the power switch pins and eventually it turned on. So I just bought another power supply to use this board in the future. Now I can't get it to start at all by shorting pins. After inspecting it looks like there is a scratch right above the pins. (pic is hard to see, but that is not a hair or something) I tried pressing the flash bios button which doesn't start up the system, but flashes an LED which tells me that the mainboard is getting power it just needs the signal to start up. Are there any other ways to start the machine up? Any other pins or jumpers I can highjack? I know some PCs start up as soon as they have power. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if there's a 3d print file somewhere of a bracket to surface-mount a typical atx power button? Or if something like this already exists for purchase? Horrible paint mock-up included below!

I've got a new motherboard the Intel DQ77MK and it uses standard connectors & headers and I've connected all front i/O to it and works well, but the power button for my Dell Vostro 270 is more or less proprietary with it having 11 pins instead of 9. This wouldn't be an issue with the Dell Vostro 270 Motherboard, but as I am now using a DQ77MK, it's hard to adapt the Dell Vostro 270's power connector. Right now as a makeshift solution, I've got a generic power switch that's hanging off the side and used that, but how could I use my original front panel power button instead & make it still maintain all it's capabilities. I've searched for adaptors but I can't find the right tags for it, plus the 11 pin looks like a HD Audio connector. I've attached a layout of an 9 pin connector versus an 11 pin connector for reference.

Hi Guys, A month ago, all of a sudden, I started facing power button issue with the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus. Note: Physically power button looks and pressing feels normal. Issue 1: When I choose to power off from power menu. First it turns off, but just after 3-4 seconds. It's turns back on automatically. So it's never getting turned off unless battery runs out. Issue 2: • Normally pressing the power button recognised as press & hold which opens power menu or the bixby voice. • Which is even showed up in Safe mode. • Even as shown in video, side menu actions works automatically without pressing the power button (as if power button is getting pressed automatically) Link to video uploaded on reddit Side Menu actions working automatically Recently, In issue 2, last one is mostly stopped happening i.e side menu actions working automatically. (Still need to confirm. Previously it was happening like it will never stop till the battery runs out.) I got One UI 4.1.1 update. After that, It looks like sometimes normal pressing power button turns off the screen (which was not happening when this issue started) but sometimes normally pressing the power button recognised as press & hold which opens power menu or the bixby voice and sometimes pressing power button does nothing But Issue 1 is still happening. Note: I have done factory reset before this update. Let me know what I can do to fix this Is there anyone who is facing the same issue? Is it a hardware issue as Issue 1 points at or software issue as we can see some improvements?

So I recently just got a Phanteks P300A case from my friend, but he's used some of the parts from it to mod.. So the power button is missing (including the whole panel for USB, aduio etc.) But would I be able to just jump my PC every time i wanna start it? I know it's kinda unreliable, but would I be able to do so without fucking anything up?

Hey, so my friend just recently gave me his old case, but the power switch/button is missing.. Is there anywhere to buy a new one? I've seen there's a lot of different sites (including the offifical Phateks site) that sells replacement parts, but they don't seem to sell power buttons? Please let me know if you know where to get a new button or an alternative. Link for the case, just in case: https://phanteks.com/Eclipse-P300A.html

I built a pc two days ago and as soon as I plug the computer to the AC outlet, the PC powers on my guess is that the power button is shorted (even though I was very careful when soldering the PWR_BTN and GND wires to the button, indeed I used insulating tape between the solder joints) But perhaps there's a function in the OS that does that? Specs: generic case + PWR button that is also generic and seems to pertain to a different case (color scheme is different) i3 4160 1x8GB DDR3 1600 MHz H81M VG4 500 GB WD caviar blue 7200 RPM Cheap generic garbage PSU Windows 10 Pro 64-bit I barely changed windows settings, only to prevent discord from launching along with windows

Hi! I just received my new Lian Li o11 mini White and I finished building my PC. When I turn it on, the power button flashed from purple to blue. (Blue is the normal color) Any idea why? Note that I do not have my USB front panel plugged in, nor the USB C front panel. Thanks for all the help!

Hi guys I am building a desk for my computer and I'm wondering if this button will fit for my computer ? Also I would like to know the required voltage for the button because this one is for 3v and down and requires a resistor if the circuit is more than 3v

I’m rebuilding pc in a new case and uhhhh forgot how to plug in the reset and power connectors (the tiny two pin ones that attach to the pins on the mobo) if I screw them up, can either damage the pc? Or it just won’t boot and I’ll have to redo it?

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 15" 5558 (2015) The power button on this laptop became stuck for seemingly no reason. I tore down the laptop according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RV-N2sxVbg I made it to the power button assembly and unscrewed the screw holding the board down but can't really figure out what is preventing the button from being pressed. I unscrewed and screwed it back in multiple times with varying tightness, the button still wouldn't press. So then I had the thought that a small washer that fell out of the board when I was disassembling it might go on top of the actual button on the circuit. So I tried putting the washer underneath the button when I screwed the board back in, and the button did press a little bit this time, but not as much travel as normal and it stopped pressing after only one press. So then I rubbed the washer with a glue stick and tried again. This time the button seems to have slightly more travel when it clicks, though still not as much as there should be, but it is still pressing after several presses. I don't want to risk putting the whole laptop back together again in case the washer will easily come loose. I considered ordering a new power button assembly from eBay but I don't think the button on the circuit is broken, just whatever is supposed to press it is. Right now I'm not really sure what to do. If anyone has any advice or suggestions on this it would be greatly appreciated. Power button assembly Underside of assembly, gold thing is the button that interacts with the plastic power button. Back of power button Washer that might be for the button Front of power button

I hope I'm posting this in the right subforum, if not, I apologize. So basically, two days ago I shut down my PC as usual, and it went through the "Shutting down" screen, and the screen turned black afterwards. However, I noticed that the power light on my PC case/tower was still on, and thar the fans were still spinning. This never happened before, so I got worried. I tried to press the power button once shortly to see if it would shut down - it didn't, so I pressed the restart button on my case and it restarted and booted up normally. When I shut down the PC again, it shut down normally. I tried looking around on the internet to find what could've been the cause of this, but I couldn't find anything. Could it be that my HDD is failing? Some other part? Windows issue?

Just a quick question and need help in figuring out the problem. My motherboard is a AORUS x470 gaming WiFi 7 and the casing is a Lian-li PC011 and the front power button does not work. It lights up but when you press it, the system won't power up and instead I have to use the back power button. The first time I assembled it, it won't power up. The second time I assembled it (because I didn't like the wiring of the system) it powered up nicely via the front power button. The third and final time I assembled the system (because I was happy with the system) the front power button didn't work. Totally at a lost. Any idea on what's wrong and what can I do to fix this problem.

I am trying to connect my case's front panel power button and other front panel I/O to my motherboard. See this page for a picture of what I/O exists on my case: http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/mastercase-h500m/ See page 22 of the manual for all information about the front I/O connectors that exists in the case manual. See page 1-21 of my motherboard manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/ROG_MAXIMUS_X_FORMULA/E13427_ROG_MAXIMUS_X_FORMULA_UM_WEB.pdf?_ga=2.146811831.1486131050.1533935187-553127753.1531639343 for where the front panel I/O is supposed to go. I have hooked up the power switch, power led, and activity led as shown below, and attached that connector to the bottom right header of my motherboard. This results in a non-functional power switch. I suspected that I also needed to attach the reset button, so I went hunting for that cable, and it turns out it is attached to a separate pcb on the back left of my case. see next pic: Since my motherboard seems to want the "RESET SW" plugged directly into my motherboard, but the case and the manual have the reset switch plugged into this pcb, where should the reset switch actually be plugged in and how do I get my power button working?

Possible stupid question here, but I am trying to connect my ASUS Maximus X Formula MB to my Cooler Master H500M case's power button. I can't find how to do this in my MB manual http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/ROG_MAXIMUS_X_FORMULA/E13427_ROG_MAXIMUS_X_FORMULA_UM_WEB.pdf?_ga=2.146811831.1486131050.1533935187-553127753.1531639343 or my case's manual http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/mastercase-h500m/ Can someone give me a page number in either of them to reference?

Part list: PSU: Unsure, friend took it out of a workstation (He claims it's over 700 watts) Processor: i5-6500 3.2GHz Motherboard: Asus H110M-C D3 (Chipset: LGA 1151) Ram: Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 SSD: G.Skill - Phoenix Pro Series 120GB 2.5" GPU: Sapphire - Radeon HD 5970 2GB Video Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Computer was working fine for about 2 months. I opened it up to inspect my GPU, but when I put it back in, the PC wouldn't turn on when I press the power button on the case. No lights, no fan, nothing. I've tried pretty much everything. -Switching the reset button cables with the power cables. -Resetting CMOS and battery -Reinserting practically every cable -Removing and swapping ram -Removing GPU On the back of my PSU, there is a reset button. So long as I'm pressing it down, the RGB lights light up, and fans start spinning. Once I let go of the reset button, everything shuts off. Nothing shows up on the monitor even if I press it down long enough. Just because the fans start spinning, can my MOBO be dead? Or is it the case power button?

I'm rather new to building computers so please bare with me on this. Any help will be very much appreciatedI have recently built a new PC. I got it up and running Saturday night on 6/16/18. PC was running fine with no issues all night. The following day on 6/17/18 I continued to use the computer as usual with no issues. Doing my normal typical work, gaming and web browsing. Computers CPU temperatures ranging from 35-40 Celsius. Video Card Temps at about 35-48 Celsius. Towards the end of the night I installed the Asus Utilities download from the Support Page of the Motherboard which has AI Suite 3 and Dual Intelligent Processors 5. The next day on 6/19/18 I began using the computer after work to do some web browsing with some YouTube. After a while the computer monitor went blank and showed no signal. Everything in the computer is still running, fans, video card heat sink fan. I tried powering restarting via reset button in the front and nothing. I then tried holding down the Power Button and no luck with that either. I also noticed the HDD Lights weren't lighting up anymore either. So I had to manually shut it down via the back with PSU. I let sit for a bit and tried the computer again. I did the same, web browsing and YouTube. Left computer idle playing a video with no issues. Once I began activity web browsing. The same issue occurred. At that point at I didn't fire it up as I didn't want something to happen to the computer as I wasn't sure what is causing the problem. I then proceeded to look up threads for any similar cases but was unable to find anything, at least that I noticed. So I asked a friend of mine who has some building experience suggested I check Video Card for overclock. My Card was is overclocked by default. I can see this in the Asus GPU Tweak II Software. It has 3 default Profiles. Overclock Mode, Game Mode, and Silent Mode. I set it to default setting which is Silent Mode on the last try as it was set to Game Mode. When I fired up the AMD Ryzen Software I did notice the CPU was running Overclocked at a speed of 4.2GHz. As Far as I understand, the chip I have runs at 3.7GHz. I never messed with any settings to Overclock or any of that as I'm not to familiar with such steps. Now my questions is, what could be the possible reason this issue is occurring with the computer? Could it be the chip is overclocked? Hardware issues? Software Issues possibly? I'm afraid I could have overlooked something during the building process. Below is my list of all hardware of my new build. If anyone could provide any information or give me something to point me in the right direction. I would very much appreciate it and would mean a lot. I'm still new to all this and willing to hear and learn from others. Best regards and have a wonderful day. I will also provide pictures of my rig. If their is any additional information you may need of my computer please let me know.
