So my iPhone took a dump on me a while ago and I just didn't want to replace it with another smartphone so I went with a cheap flip phone for 15 bucks off of amazon. But now I've got the itch for a smartphone again so I need your guys and gals help. What should I get...should I get one of those or something entirely different. Budget: $450 (american) Uses: Use my phone for YouTube and movie watching more than my computer. Gaming: I use my computer for that...duh Choices: Axon 7, Oneplus 3, or something similar to them. (also never getting another iPhone again...I don't know why i went swapped from android to apple in the first place.)

Been shopping around for a new Android as my current one(lg phoenix 3) is starting to really let me down (not ready to buy anything yet tho.). I need something with good preformance, a good camera(something that can do ok in lowlight), and a screen bigger than 5in. The camera is the most important thing followed by preformance. Preferably I'd like to stay around $150-170 but I'd grudgingly go up to around 200 (or slightly higher) if need be. Also a headphone jack is mandatory for me. Idk if it's possible to find what I'm looking for but any help is appreciated!

Hello all, Just wanting some opinions. Currently have a honor 10 and honestly enjoyed the darn thing due to its cameras, performance alright and scree ok albeit small. Im looking to upgrade to the Samsung s10 plus, one plus 7 Pro or p30 Pro. I have seriously enjoyed the honor 10s cameras which is why I want good cameras on the phone. This is what drags the one plus 7 Pro down a bit, because it is the same price as an s10 plus here in the UK. Im unsure if the 90 hz screen makes up for the cameras. Although I've found a snapdragon variant of the s10 plus to ship over here for the same price which does lower the blow towards the exynos version the eu uses. The p30 Pro is really nice but seems to be lacking good video quality, albeit an insane camera quality, as well as costing significantly more than the other two, at near £800 vs the other two at £699. Im curious if others have opinions on this im willing to listen to anything presented. Heck if there's any alternatives I haven't considered I'm happy enough to consider things.

I want to be able to charge all my devices with a single usb-c cable. If i were to buy the: Samsung galaxy note 10+ (45w) Galaxy book s (45w) Galaxy tab s6 (25w) Galaxy buds (idk) Sony wh-1000xm3 (7.5w?) Could i then charge the laptop, phone, tablet, headset and earbuds using the same 45w charger (that samsung will be selling for the phone and laptop) to charge every device. I guess it would work just fine and i know that you can most of the time charge high speed supported devices with slower chargers at slow speeds, but can i SAFELY charge my low speed supported devices with a high speed cable. Will the devices regulate the input so that it only draw as much power as needed and not more which wont damage the battery over time or maybe even overheat or start a fire

Hello guys, hope you are having a good day/night So recently I have cracked my phone screen and now it has a little bubble of dead-pixel at the corner of the phone. It doesn't affect the usability much but I have decided to go and replace it the LCD panel and glass panel at a repair shop. the problem is I'm worried that if the odds are against me and my repairer is using a cheap or bad quality LCD panel, could it in/directly affect my phone's screen? Say the maximum resolution the screen could output or the accuracy of colors and such...etc. Thanks for your time guys

If you haven't heard about Motorola killing the Pie update for all Z2 Force phones except Verizon models, basically they're doing just that. Instead of justifying why they're doing so, they've only justified why they're still bringing Pie to the Verizon model - the 5G Moto Mod that requires at least Pie. So in typical consumer fashion, I've given up on Motorola as a whole, which is frankly a damn shame, because I really loved Motorola devices. So while the Z2 Force is by no means an out of date device for any reason other than having a lame camera and Lenovorola forgetting how to keep promises, I'm going to start searching for my replacement. Some other context - I've never owned any smartphone other than a Motorola device, having drank the Droid coolaid all those years ago. All of my complaints about their devices thus far have been about increasingly worse update support and maybe some gripes about their camera just not holding up. But that's mostly it. The Z2 Force is by far my favorite Motorola device as a whole. So here are my reasons for loving it which may give some clue as to what I'm looking for in my next device: Battery life - I've always loved the battery life in the Motorola devices I've owned (for example, the RAZR MAXX that was basically just that, a bigger battery phone). While the base Z2 Force doesn't have much in that area, the battery Moto Mods have offered unprecedented versatility. If I want to slim down my pocket, I can just go without a Mod attached. If I want to go my whole day (and then some), throw a Mod on, or throw it on later. Somehow manage to drain even further? Swap the Mod out for another battery Mod and carry on like nothing changed. All this while being able to use the speaker mod or camera mod whenever I want, simply by swapping it out. I haven't had to sacrifice battery for anything. In many ways, I've been able to gain independence from portable battery packs. Even though I throw one in my bag out of habit, especially when outdoors, I just simply carry the Mods I need and can swap out battery mods. No cables needed to stay charged. No charging speed issues. It's like it's just part of the device. Extremely clean interface - Motorola has always had a clean skin of Android that feels super vanilla to me. That may simply be because I've never owned a Pixel device or anything else, but for all intensive purposes, it's felt near perfect. Just the other day I gave Nova Launcher another shot and found myself missing things like Google Discovery (the feed) and a few other quirks. Sure, I know of the 3rd party integration for Google Discovery but in my mere hours of testing, it would simply stop working for no apparent reason, with only restarting the launcher entirely as a fix. Decent specs - Snapdragon 835 with 6Gigs RAM. The screen is fine. The camera needs help, but meh. The black & white camera is neat I guess. That's about it. Pretty reliable - Has rarely crashed the whole device. Restarts aren't often required. My biggest gripes: Camera app has been buggy lately and seems to crash when saving. Super intermittent and is just a software thing it seems. Motorola has gone from the best updates to the absolute worst, going so far as to break their promises as mentioned above. My big hands prefer a bumper and Mod for it to feel like a tangible object that I'm not going to break. Hand meat likes to wrap around the edges when holding without bumper Shatterproof screen is super prone to scratches and required a tempered glass screenprotector. While I love how durable the screen is (my prior phone took a ratchet and socket to the screen), being so prone to scratches just seems kinda dumb. The addition of the glass screen protector AND the apparent factory screen protectors that's under it means the front fingerprint sensor/home button wasn't comfortable to use for one-button navigation (gestures across the button instead of on-screen buttons for home, back, and open apps). It was like running a finger over a sharp edge and had super tactile depth that made it kinda meh and unusable. When rocking it modless, the camera bump just feels like I'm gonna break it super easily so I feel like I have to baby it. Extra thoughts: With no real flagship contender from Motorola in the Z3/Z4 era, it just feels like Lenovo just said "nah" to the phone business in addition to the other issues. So with all that in mind, what's my next non-Motorola device?

I am looking for a hardware device designed to stop charging your phone at a certain percentage level. There are countless apps on the play store to tell you to unplug your phone when its fully charged but I like to charge my phone over night and to wake up just to unplug my phone is stupid. I know its possible by rooting android but I have a Galaxy S10+ Snapdragon version and there are currently no ways to root it.

Custom roms like lineage os (previously Cyanogen) or Resurrection or dirty unicorns. Switching to one can genuinely revive an old phone if its slow or if the manufacturer stopped supporting it with updates, for example Samsung is terrible at supporting older phones because once the new one is out it's basically a death sentence for the old one. But with custom roms you can have Android pi running on a s5 which I have right now and it's entirely functional apart from some hardware quirks like having a home button so I don't have to swipe up to exit an app but that's usually fixed in hardware. I also have an s8 and the custom rom for that pretty much puts it on par with newer flagship phones but obviously it's not that old. I know one argument is that its simply too hard but it's not harder than building a pc for the first time and there are plenty of guides and forums dedicated it like xda developers. I've been modding my phone's for about 2 years now and they've been helpful. Sorry if I got anything wrong but I want to know your responses.

So I know that some can say that paying the highest amount of money for your phone is a way to go, however i want to hit the minimum of what i want in my phone then hitting that maximum power every other person wanted who is addicted to their phones. I am a gamer, but I never really gotten into certain games that require lots of power from my phone that i hope i can with the next phone (that you guys reccomend) without asking me how money i can provide to buy, I merely wanted to ask what kind of Core Processor, Ram, and Storage do i need to compute with what i wanted on my phone. I know that 16 GB of storage isnt enough, and in most cases I am sure that the processor on my Alcatel phone isnt that good either (bearly can run CSR). My phone is an "Alcatel 5041C" by the way. I don't have much of a big deal when it comes to battery life (since i always have a portable charger on me at all times) and I want this phone to still have the based ideal on how it should input (meaning same button input like my previous phones) so if you can help me out that will be grateful. Ideal Andriod below: Storage: 32GB Processor:? Ram: 4gb+? Screen size:? This post will be edit to fit my ideal as we discuss it in the comment section

Cheaper, but good alternatives for dbrand skins?

Hey guys, I recently broke my Samsung S8+ screen and am looking to replace it. However, where I am, this will cost me around $600 NZD. I also have the option of buying the Huawei Nova 3i which would get me a brand new phone for less than replacing my old screen ($450ish). I have been using the S8+ for a couple of years and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I would rather keep it, have a better resolution screen and IP68 resistance, but what do you think? Thanks in advance.

Okay so I really have no use for this LG V30 that I own and I just feel like doing some random stuff with it so I wanna have it be able to flash it or whatever using ADB so that it runs stock android instead of the stupid LG mask of android. The mask they have for the OS and all the dumbass bloatware, if anyone can help me with this I'd really appreciate this.

Ok so I've been looking at some fairly budget orientated phones for a little while now, and I have more or less settled on the Honor View 10. After I had done that though, I read somewhere that it wasn't compatible with Verizon, and that's my carrier, while as some other places said you can take it in and they'll set it up? I really don't have a clue as to what the answer to this is, I would really like to be able to go for that phone, but I want to know for sure that I wont have wasted money on something I can't fully utilize. Hey LTT community! I’ve missed you guys! (Don’t mind the first post, lost the email to my old account). (TLDR; Will Linux work on blackberry after 2020???) Call me old school, but I love the look and feel of blackberry phones with the physical keys and layout. However with blackberry going away, these once magnificent devices are quietly going into the dark, soon to be lost forever. Before that however, I still want one of these phones wether or not I get to even use the thing, they just feel that nice. Upon looking into getting one of these before they are all gone, I was trying to find a way to see if they will still be operating after the 2020 year (when support ends), and I found a nice little post talking about booting a Linux OS onto a blackberry, which supposedly will run into 2021+ (this is to get updates and be secure as this is a business and banking only phone). I wanted to see if there are any blackberry wizards out there that might know a thing or two as to what’s going to happen after 2020 for blackberry (if it will still work or nah), and if this Linux distro on a blackberry really works as a way around the blackberry support shutting off, (maybe this will then hopefully operate more secure in the end???) THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ALL YOUR KNOWLEDGE!
