Hey guys, I need to build a pc for 600usd, I have okay-ish knowledge of hardware, just enough to connect the whole thing together. But I have no idea whats the best hardware for dollar. (I live in Europe, just using usd so its easier for everyone) PC will be used to manage exel spread sheets, watching youtube videos and occasional movie (not that demanding) Main attribute I am considering is longevity as this PC will not be replaced for atleast 3-4years. Any builds, tips or links to look at are greatly appreciated Thank you guys!

I am a reasonably inexperienced first-time pc builder. Recently, I have come up with a build that I think is decent. Here is the link to the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bzmDyX The only reason that I wanted to go with a Vega 56 is that I've noticed that with NVIDIA graphics cards, installing a GPU disables onboard graphics. I have multiple monitors. This would use some of the GPU's power too. Is it worth the extra money to get a Vega 64 opposed to the RTX 2070? Also, is there any bottlenecking? If there are any other problems with this build, please tell. Thank you!

I live in Philadelphia and for the first time I've been asked to build computers for a school e-paper club, the club teacher came to my uncle's hardware shop to see me. I feel so proud that someone recognized my work was good, I want to do a good job, do you think is there a way that it's possible to build them 4 computers with a budget of $2870, Should I go ryzen or 8gen Intel any suggestions appreciated

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on my first PC build, before I go ahead with purchasing all my components. The aim of this build is to be a great video editing and animation machine. I hope to do gaming with it, but nothing AAA. Notes: I'm aware there is plenty of features on my motherboard that I won't be using (M.2, 4x PCIe), I would gladly take any suggestions on cheaper alternatives. The main dilemma I'm faced with at the moment is whether or not to purchase a RTX 2070 instead of a GTX 1080. Hopefully you guys can help! 1. Budget and Location - preferably $4000 but am willing to go as high as $5000 for better performance (as long as its substantial enough to justify the extra grand) - Australia (so please use AUD or at least put USD after a price if you cannot be bothered converting it and I will) 2. Aim - Main focus of gaming. Specifically aimed at getting highest refresh rates possible. - I care more about fps than superior graphics but am willing to pay for a build that can do both if it fits into the budget - I usually play games (or try on my current junk) like arma 3, fortnite, pubg, elder scrolls, tomb raider etc. Basically, I want it to handle whatever games are thrown at it, and well! again, more focus on highest FPS rather than graphics 3. Monitor - current monitor is 1080p 144hz with gsync (but don't base suggestions around this, am really just looking for the most performance within the given price range and I will upgrade to a higher hertz monitor if my current 144hz one is a bottleneck) - Will upgrade to a 244hz 1440p or 1080p monitor if the build can support it - dual monitor setup would be the most i would ever do (if i upgraded to the 244hz 1440p/1080p monitor, i would use it and my current one) 4. No peripherals required (have keyboard, mouse, headphones etc) but will need a copy of windows 5. Why am i upgrading? - current 5 year old pre-built pc is dying and cannot run anything, also have a fair amount of extra cash from work and have always wanted an absolute beast of a gaming PC The main reason I am posting this is because there just seems to be a ton of conflicting posts and videos about what really is the most performant etc. and i was just getting totally lost with the amount of information there is out there. From what i gathered, a 1080Ti and i7 8700k is pretty high up there in terms of GPU's and CPU's (most people saying the 2070/2080/2080Ti and i9 9900k are just not worth it for the small increase), but from there I am pretty stumped in terms of RAM, mobo's, coolers etc and could do with some help on that. I found this video which seemed like a good base point for me to start with, could this build be altered to suite my needs? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks all

Hi all, So its that time of they year again where Christmas is near and the school holidays are coming up meaning us school students get more work hours during the holidays. With already having ~$1000 already in my back account i want to definitely, eventually upgrade my PC over the holiday with the overall cost of it being give or take ~$3000-$3500. What i need to have: Run a triple monitor setup Ability to run 3D Cad/Cam software Ability to run 3D rendering software able to run most AAA & FPS games at 60-90 FPS can support overclocking (not too much though)] at least 32GB's of ram (if possible with price range) 2TB HardDrive NVME M.2 240GB 2-3 PCI Slots Liquid AIO Cooler A case to support it all and... Fans Is that possible within the price range?? if not I can hit the max at $4000

Hi peeps, I want to make my first pc build around $1000. I don’t want to include a monitor and keyboard, etc. in the price, but I would like cheap recommendations. This pc will be used for vr (Vive) and beginner/medium video editing. I want it to last for a while (I will upgrade), but I don’t want to spend too much. Thanks

Hey guys, I haven't built any PC before and I am willing to get any suggestion possible to maximize the use of my first build. I have people to help me build the PC but I need help with the components. This build is for leisure only. I'm happy with medium graphics settings, but I want high frame-rates(>= 60) and no stutter. Here are the two builds I've come up with from PC Part picker. AMD: https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/VQ92fH AMD - Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor MSI - B450M GAMING PLUS Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Samsung - 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3 GB GAMING Video Card Cooler Master - K380 ATX Mid Tower Case Cooler Master - Elite Power 400 W ATX Power Supply Intel: https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/P4ZmxG Intel - Core i5-7600K 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Processor Zalman - CNPS80F CPU Cooler MSI - B250M PRO-VD Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Crucial - 16 GB (1 x 16 GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Transcend - 256 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Zotac - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB Mini Video Card Deepcool - SMARTER MicroATX Mini Tower Case Cooler Master - Elite Power 400 W ATX Power Supply 1. Budget and Place Budget is INR 90,000 (excluding peripherals, have them planned for later) and location is India. Would love it if one or two peripherals fit in. 2. Aim Mostly gaming, occasional casual video editing and gameplay recording. I don't need high detailed beautiful graphics with everything at Ultra settings. I need smooth performance with good frame rates (>= 60) and no stutters at 1080p minimum, happy with medium settings. I mostly play fast-paced games like racing and shooter, mostly racing. Sometimes I would like to record my gameplays and edit them to share with friends, nothing professional. 3. Monitors ONE! I'm happy with 1080p but need refresh rates greater than 60 Hz. Would go for a FreeSync if I go for the AMD build as it's cheaper. Not planning to buy a monitor right now, it can wait. 4. Peripherals The usual peripherals, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard and Headset. However, I'm not planning to buy them with the PC yet, they can wait. Mouse: Any mouse with >1000 DPI, scroll wheel and forward and backward buttons. Keyboard: A full-size backlit mechanical keyboard, no lighting effects needed. I type in the dark, just need to see the keys and I use numpad often. Headset: A simple headset to communicate with my squad. I don't want any rubber coating to come off the foam and get in my ears, I had the experience. Monitor: 1080p, >= 60Hz refresh rate, FreeSync for the AMD build. Everything listed above are the minimum requirements and I'm happy with them. The cheaper the better. 5. Upgrade This is my first PC build. I'll be saving up for upgrades as I keep using my first build, but I'm very tight on money. Thanks y'all!

Hello. Sorry if this isn’t the right forum but I’m planning a build and don’t have much money. I saved up around £800 over around 4 years to get a laptop. It is the msi ge62 6qf Apache pro. Specs 16gb ram gtx 970m i7 6700k should I sell it to build a pc?

Hello Guys! I'm planning my first PC build, which is intended mainly for gaming and some serviceable streaming/video capture editing to maybe start up a YouTube/Twitch channel. Might also dabble in music production/DJ mixing as well. I would optimally be going for a performance of 1440p/60fps. The budget I'm going for is $1000 to $1500 for the base build, and up to $2000 including peripherals (monitors, keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.). I'll be starting with one monitor and possibly an HDMI connection to a TV, but am willing to expand to more monitors if the opportunity allows. The kinds of games I love to play the most include sports games, racing games, fighting games, strategy and management games as well as open world games and games with engaging stories and worlds to immerse myself in. Will be open to sending a list of games I play/am interested in playing if it helps you come up with suggestions or just gives you ideas for games to try out. Here is my build broken down below: PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gq6CV6 Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gq6CV6/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($259.79 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-L9i 33.84 CFM CPU Cooler ($39.95 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI - Z370 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($119.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung - 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($71.00 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($498.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Corsair - SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case ($34.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($42.98 @ Newegg) Keyboard: Corsair - K55 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($46.99 @ Amazon) Mouse: Corsair - Harpoon RGB Wired Optical Mouse ($28.31 @ Amazon) Headphones: SteelSeries - Arctis 7 Headset ($109.99 @ Amazon) Total: $1432.86 I have still not decided on a monitor, but I am open to suggestions. I am also open to adjusting my above expectations if needed. I would greatly appreciate your help and advice. Thank you very much!

I am fairly new to PC building, I have made one before but just followed somebody else's list of parts. My previous build was gaming oriented but now I need a PC strictly for 3D modelling and rendering. From some research I believe that rendering is heavily CPU based especially with the Corona Renderer and on the other hand, real time rendering is GPU based and modelling large dense scenes with materials requires a lot of RAM. I mostly need fast "non-realtime" renders so I want most (75%) of my budget of $1000 to go towards my CPU and RAM. Also should I get an extra SSD to put my OS and main files or is not worth it in terms of performance speed once in the software (3Ds Max)? I genuinely appreciate you taking your time to read this, and helping me with superior knowledge :P If you have any NewEgg affiliate codes I will gladly use them - its the least I can do :) Again thank you so much and I am looking forward to your response! PS. I don’t need any peripherals or OS, and it would be ideal if any of your suggestions where on NewEgg.

UPDATE: They now included a build recommendation as part of a news article/post still related to this post but it isn't found in the same ribbon tab. Illustration below. So it seems like Ubisofts own game launcher now has a "How to build a PC" ribbon tab and it's been there since the 3rd of November 2018... Source: UPLAY itself I for one did not notice it, maybe because I rarely use UPLAY to launch my games. So yay! Ubisoft. The video itself wasn't made by Ubisoft (thank God), it was uploaded by a channel on Youtube called NGON. I think the aim of this was to educate dudes new to PC building or want to try it out (duh). Better yet I think it aims to educate people about buying pre-built and/or trash PCs that are total rip-offs - basically, so people can avoid this - I'm not sure if the "How to build a PC" in the ribbon deserves to be there though... I'm just saying no one would really come back to check it out. Maybe it should be within the 'Games' section like a green button there or something. Comments: Good - It was pretty nice. The dude tried to explain carefully each essential component in a PC and what you need to consider. Slightly meh - He didn't take into account one of the most important things like "set a budget first" - this is gonna bite your ass if you neglect it totally. Technically speaking price doesn't really come into "how to build" but the video itself explains how to pick parts sooo... Low-key stuff - If you watch the video closely, the guy chose a Ryzen CPU and some Sapphire Nitro GPU. Hmm... Too bad there isn't a ribbon tab on the launcher called "How to fix buggy/broken games" EDIT: I don't know why Ubisoft didn't link to their own forums though - https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1444233-Building-a-gaming-PC-–-Part-1-Getting-Started EDIT 2: You can watch the video here - UPDATE CONTINUED: Below are UBISOFT's and NGON's PC build recommendation split into categories - ENTRY, MID-RANGE, ULTRA, and ENTHUSIAST - Needless to say there is obviously a huge pricing difference between AMD and intel CPUs as both of intel's motherboard and processors are very expensive compared to AMD's own offerings. Other nitpicks - SSDs are still expensive and only offers performance boost to loading times. Generally, I'd say just put all essential programs in the SSD (500GB is more than enough) and other games in an HDD (2TB is pretty standard) to save up money and space. The 2280 form factor for M.2 drives listed here still depends on the motherboard, no point getting one if your motherboard doesn't even have the slot. Motherboard form factors (in this case mATX & ATX) are generally irrelevant to the performance and sometimes even pricing. Just say the chipset. RAM speed should be like 2800MHz and up or something. What if the guy found a cheaper 3866MHz+ kit. For "Enthusiast" I would still consider the GTX 1070 as a good base for 1440p... to some degree an RX 580 8GB would still do an adequate job. Mid-Range - there's nothing wrong with an RX 570 for 1080p gaming, so perhaps put RX 570 or GTX 1060 3/5/6GB instead? Also maybe put some pricing range, like you would get the "Entry" level system for say $400.

Hey guys. Im building my first pc and have picked out some parts. I am hoping some of you can review my build and tell me how i can make it better. I am planning to spend around $1500 for my build. And i was wondering if it would be best to wait for the holidays to buy the parts ( eg. blackfriday). I plan to play games like (Fallout 76, DragonBall Fightez, TombRaider) at 1440p, I would like to get above 100fps on some of these games. Hello, I am building a PC for my sister that is a professional wedding photographer and I am wondering if I could get some constructive criticism on it! She isn't going to be doing any gaming (unless I can convince her otherwise) most likely just simply doing a large amount of photo editing from photo sessions and weddings. I'm looking to see if parts that I have are the right choices and if I should make it a bit cheaper to get a more expensive monitor(currently looking around on the market for $300 monitor). https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wdKvmq if you take the time to look at this and respond I truly appreciate it!!!

So, this is a build that me and my friend did about two years ago, but he never really got any attention for it, so I thought you guys might be able to give it some love. Sneak peek, then the build. We started off by instead of taking a desk and converting it we simply built our own to our own specs. As we went we constantly checked sizing and fittings to make sure it was going to work. We cut holes in the back to fit our i/o's exactly as well as our drain ports. assuring the sizing and fitting for the rads and fans was one of the hardest parts. But in the end we glued magnets to the fans so they could easily be set on and taken off. assured the fan controller could actually handle all the fans we wanted to use. The Fans were also set up in such a way that every fan pulled from the right and pushed out the left so we had no problem with air flow. We spray painted the parts of the hardware that didn't match as this was going to be kind of a black and silver build with purple accents. Made sure the mount we made on the desk could handle the weight of our monitor setup. a lot of custom mounts needed to me made for reservoirs and mobo and such. next came the staining and lacquer job, and boy, this thing put off a strong scent for maybe 3 weeks after it was already dry... But it looked great. We got excited when it lit up for the first time. Next was cabling. We didn't want to order custom wires as it would have cost 200 - 300 dollars, so we got the bright idea, lets just cut them and solder them all ourselves with longer, purple wire. That process alone took maybe 4 hours. We did use a light dye to have a light purple colored fluid, but the rgb (Which could do any color as you can see) ended up just kind of overpowering it. Kind of nice though as you can make it pretty much your own. Ya, I think it ended up pretty good, but what do you guys think?
