Not holding my breath here but I wonder if the MS Servers will get an overload on free upgrade downloads the few days before the free upgrade option disappears. Though I know I will get comments like "why would it happen" or those that do will be dumb doing so" and the sort. But you know as well as I know that it just may happen. Food for thought.

Report: Microsoft will build ad blocking into a future version of Microsoft Edge Begun, the ad wars have. By; Source: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3049998/browsers/report-microsoft-will-build-ad-blocking-into-a-future-version-of-microsoft-edge.html Yay! This is good, and I am glad, now hopefully it will be decent and well made (hopefully). This along with the addition of extensions being added to the next Edge update, it looks as if Edge may be a worthy competitor after all. Thoughts?

*Update* Microsoft: No, Microsoft Edge will not natively block ads Microsoft rebuts a report that said Edge would get an integrated ad blocker By; Gregg Keizer ComputerWorld via PCWorld Source: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3050475/windows/microsoft-no-microsoft-edge-will-not-natively-block-ads.html Apparently the article I posted, somebody did not do their homework correctly and or did not follow up with their to confirm the information. For Shame.......... The original article I posted: Apparently according to Microsoft the add blocking that has been referred to in conversation is a slider for an ad filter of sorts. MS only has plans of supporting Ad Blockers through extensions so users can use their choice of what Ad Blocker they want. This makes a lot more sense to me honestly. I like the information that put out in the related article but it did seem a bit of a stretch for MS to bake in an AdBlocker since there is already solid extension available through either AdBlocker Plus and AdBlocker Pro. If MS was to bake one they would most likely work with or offer to buy either of the 2 I mentioned. Thoughts?

OK so for various reasons my uncle runs a self written "2GB Excel Macro Monster" as company software. (The main reason is that the unix based custom ERP, which was awesome for 20 years, disintegrated into thin air because it was still the original hard drive.... yeah backup your stuff accessible, 20 year old rotten tapes don't help you nowadays....) Honestly what he does is sheer amazing and I never though you would be able to archive this kind of complexity with just Excel, VBA and a few Word Templates for printing. (Even some certified MS Office experts bow before him) Now he starts to create UIs for employees and has one major concern: speed. He already managed to get most tasks (and those are mostly the "idiot prove, mega safety check" type of functions because Office is a bitch) under 8 sec. (which is faster than any ERP I have encountered so far) but he still complaints that they need to be under 3 sec. for a feasible workflow. So his next step is to build a "MS Office Mega Server" but he has no clue about hardware. He asked me for advice so I thought lets try beefier hardware which worked to some extend but still doesn't make a noticeable improvement because it isn't properly utilized. We also tried a RAM disk and a shitload of office settings but we are unable to find the bottleneck. It seems MS Office is really picky about hardware and you need compatible hardware to get any gains. (This includes graphic cards and printer interfaces too) So if anybody has experience with this topic please share it with me. P.S. I don't have the current system specs at hand right now. I will post those when they are available.

One year ago, I created my MS account. I also created my Skype & linked them together. However, on August 30, I unlinked my MS fused Skype. My Skype is not gone, but I need help regaining access by relinking it. How can I do this? Skype name won't help because it's "Skype name" has "live" next to it. How it's "structured": live:*************** . I used astericks to keep my Skype name private.

Hi guys, looking for new monitor. If you guys can help me, that would be great! I have EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB (GPU). I'm looking to upgrade my current monitor to something that is 1080p 24 inch LED monitor. I play a range of games, but I mostly play 'Dota 2' and 'CSGO' and on a time to time a bit of GTA V and Arma 3. Good FPS and MS Monitor, that has great colors, with the great performance. Preference, good looking monitor (Black). I know BENQ have great gaming monitors, but it's hard to find the right one for me. Saying this, I know other manufacturers have the same specifications but may be cheaper and more reliable. But, it's hard to find. My budget is around £100 - £150. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Dec. Also, here are some monitors I've had a look at. BenQ RL2455HM LED 24 -inch BenQ GL2450HM LED TN 24-inch BenQ EW2440L LED VA 24-inch

Not a whole lot more to add to this to be honest, the title and linked sources speak for themselves. Cutting the bandwidth required for streaming is only beneficial to every party involved, I'm surprised this sort of two pronged approach hasn't been tried before. Its pretty smart to offload things to the device itself as much as possible while involving your streaming for tasks that said device can't do, or doesn't make sense to do given hardware limitations. With more companies getting on this wagon of streaming, anything that reduces the overall load on the network is going to be appreciated especially by consumers who game on the go. Maybe this will challenge mobile games themselves. Why play some random app store 99 cent game when you can just stream something proper and do it without hindering your overall experience? http://today.duke.edu/2015/05/cloudgaming http://www.geek.com/games/microsoft-cuts-cloud-game-streaming-bandwidth-by-over-80-1623534/ This post has been promoted to an article

Hello everyone! I am currently in the market for a 21.9 1080p IPS monitor with DisplayPort, when I came across the LG 25UM55-P. I currently have an HP 2310m, which is a 3 ms monitor, and I'm wondering if I will be able to see the difference. I'm going to mainly be playing League of Legends, GTA V, and Witcher 3 when it comes out. not sure if relevent but I have a GTX 980

Looks like we needed a proper thread for all this information so I am making one, it helps being organized. A lot of new information being revealed that is pretty neat, I will add it here. Will update as I go along. Xbox One is getting early access Yea, it finally happened. But unlike the mess known as Early Access on Steam, you get demos on the Xbox One before you plunk down money. Neat, right? Source: http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-is-getting-early-access-1711427830 Xbox partnership with Valve VR I wish I had more to share on this end, but I don't. I'm trying to see if they flesh out the information on this and let us know what exactly this partnership involves. Gears of War Ultimate Edition is coming August 25th, it will have a playable beta starting today. Xbox One Elite Controller Source: http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/15/microsoft-new-xbox-elite-wireless-controller/ Halo 5 https://youtu.be/av-N5smXFpw Source: http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/15/halo-5-warzone-mode/ Backwards Compatibility This is a big deal, since PCs still don't have a proper PPC emulator for the Xbox 360 and now MS is making it work natively off the Xbox One. That is seriously awesome, AND ITS FREE. TAKE THAT SONY! Who wants to pay for your old games via a subscription service when MS is straight up letting old games work natively! Rejoice gamers on the PC, you need not worry about MS forcing you to have a Gold subscription to make use of all the Live features that will be included with Windows 10. Great news indeed. Now lets see what else they have planned to make PC gamers not worry that MS is going to go bend them over a barrel when it comes to PC gaming. http://www.pcgamer.com/xbox-live-gold-wont-be-required-for-windows-10-multiplayer/ https://twitter.com/majornelson/status/573285677149888514

MS really wants people to start using OneDrive and I do not disagree with their push to increasing the amount of storage you get, even if it is temporary. Its a shot across the bow to DropBox and co. specifically (the irony in this promotion didn't escape me). The shot is to offer higher storage amounts on their base levels. These 5, 10 and 15GB plans are ridiculous given how fast and easy you can fill those up, even with photos and video much less anything else. So I'll take my 100GB and make use of it, and by the time it comes to actually subscribe, we might have even cheaper storage pricing. This is my account right now, I can actually make use of OneDrive as a place to store event photos now without worrying about paring down my file sizes: http://hothardware.com/news/microsoft-offers-another-100gb-of-free-onedrive-storage-if-you-link-a-dropbox-account

Just today I started wondering, if Microsoft supplies additional screensavers for their operating systems? I did not manage to find official, additional screensavers on their end, and the few that are integrated on Windows 8.1 are quite rubbish. Can anyone redirect me to a legit, clean site with a good array of screensavers for Windows 8.1? Never really bothered to search before, and Google spews out all kinds of hog/adware sites filled with whatnots and doodads.

Im looking for a good monitor or tv for a console (xbox one, go console lesser race! jk i have pc too but thts irrelevant) The console has limited specifications so i dont want to bother spending extra money on monitor features my xbox one cant take advantage of anyway (refresh rate cap?) Like in nicer asus and benq monitors. Anyway, im wondering whether i should take a pretty damn good temporary deal for a tv: Here Normally $430, currently $269.6969 Specs: 1080p 120hz 42inch 6ms response time Seems pretty nice to me, the price being the most appealing part, only unappealing part being slightly high response time. there are other monitors i can buy for about the same price like the benqs and asus' people love, but im not sure those exceptional features matter so much for a console (maybe they do, not sure) I sort of see it as: faster response time (1-2ms vs 6ms) VS Tv functionality, Bigger screen (advantage or naw?), sexy af Knowing that this is for a console, there may be nice cheaper monitors that still maximize optimization of the xbone for a better low price Maybe: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009483 or something like that... Anyway just wondering if anyone has opinions or advice on what they would do. Suggestions for best monitors for Xbox one, or whether or not you wud buy the TV instead. I have about 10ish hours to decide tho so this post pretty much only relevant until then.

Hi forum, I have a question and I would appreciate if someone knows the answer and share it. Background: I got a Benq rl2460ht monitor that have 1ms just for console gaming, I also have a Samsung 4k UN55F9000 HDTV with an amazing input lag for gaming. The Benq rl2460ht have an output hdmi source, so I connected to my 4kTV to be the monitor clone. The question is: Is that mean I would have the same input lag in my 4kTV as my benq monitor? Is this the solution to world peace? Thanks

I did search and didn't find the two new videos on LTT. This is the first video that was shown from WinFuture on youtube of windows 9 and is on here. This next video shows multiple desktop where you can have multiple desktops with different apps loaded on each desktop environment. I didn't find this on here. Next is another video I didn't see on this forum. It shows how you can just disable the Live Tiles on the start menu. [EDIT] A new video has come. This is showing how the notification center works This is great news. I am very excited and do love the new and improved structure of windows 9. I like windows 8.1 to and it just needs some changes to make people actually want to use it.

Hey guys, I'm planning on building an mATX PC, and I'm afraid I've run into a small issue. When I originally planned this build, I had plotted out the airflow inside of the case. I was hoping to have the PSU's fan facing the front of the case, pulling in cool air, and export it out the exhaust through the bottom (the PC will be placed above a return air vent, so any hot air will not stay near the computer), as well as a 120mm fan right above the PSU pulling cool air into the case. To better explain how I wanted this set up, I used the super sophisticated MSPaint to at least give a visual, posted here. Now, it doesn't seem that I will be able to fit a 120mm fan right above the PSU. Can anyone confirm this? I'm planning on using the Corsair CX430M. If anyone has a PSU to suggest that would fit both, I'm all ears. I don't need more than 450 watts, and I prefer 80 Plus Bronze certification. Thanks!

Hey guys, I am looking into buying a 120hz monitor as I have recently purchased a GTX 680, although I will still want to game on PS3 with my friends, I've heard that console games look really bad on a 120hz monitor is this true? I would like to have a monitor that can do both as my monitor I have now is pretty old, I have been looking into getting the BenQ XL2720T. Any other suggestions on good monitors would be appreciated. Thanks.
