Hello guys! I have a idea: Installing a lcd on the side of my case, allways connected to my computer, to the motherboard. I have searched for quite some time and haven´t found a solution yet. (Well some bad ones..) - One is to install a USB-header USB GPU and let that connect via VGA and have external power source.. BUUH! So, how du i connect a lcd screen to my motherboard powered by my PSU, all internal in my system? - I understand that i need some kind of GPU to show anything, because i dont connect it to my R9 290.. but remember the issue with external power. Thanks in advance, this is realy a biggie for me. :-) - Picture explaining..

Hello, Greetings, I want to do the "secret LCD monitor".In which you remove the polarizing filter and view the screen through a pair of polarized glasses so the contents are only visible to you.The thing I want to know is,will these glasses work? http://www.ebay.in/itm/Sealed-pack-REALD-3D-Glass-for-Circular-Polarised-Passive-3D-LG-SONY-TV-Monitor-/121258513771?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item1c3b92156b Thank you.

SUHD -- the S doesn't stand for anything, according to Samsung, but the UHD is longhand for 4K -- is Samsung's branding for what it claims is its best LCD picture quality yet. More than one company representative told me that, despite being based on LCD, the JS9500 SUHD TV rivals the picture of OLED, the best TV technology ever. The models I saw in person did look very good for LCD, but I'll have to wait until I get them into the lab next to an OLED TV to know for sure. Samsung has announced three series of high-end SUHD LCD TVs for 2015, consisting of nine total models, and the JS9500 will be the most expensive (although pricing has yet to be revealed). Its main step-up over the other two series, JS9000 and JS8500, is a full-array local-dimming backlight with "hundreds" of zones (Samsung wouldn't specify exactly how many), which should deliver brighter highlights and deeper black levels than the edge-lit backlights found on the other two. The JS9500 comes in just two big sizes, 88 inches and 65 inches, and both have curved screens. The 88-inch SUHD TV revealed at CES 2015.Sarah Tew/CNETSo what makes them "S"? In two confusing words: quantum dots. The dots themselves are actually nanocrystals -- really, really small crystals -- applied to the blue LEDs that comprise the backlights of these LCD TVs. They emit specific wavelengths of red and green which, combined with the blue LEDs, can achieve brighter images and a wider color gamut than conventional LED backlight technology. Samsung says its SUHD sets achieve up to 1,000 nits in light output, compared with 300-500 for a typical LED LCD TV. It also says their color approaches, but doesn't quite achieve 100 percent coverage of, the DCI color space, which is significantly wider than the Rec 709 color space used for almost all in-home content today (in other words, the wider gamut isn't of much use today, despite Samsung mentioning one-off collaborations with Fox in its press materials). Beyond the dots, SUHD TVs also employ a new panel technology designed to further improve contrast in bright rooms. original artical by cnet: http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-un65js9500/

Ok so I have an old Toshiba 22" LCD screen (broken atm) which they don't make anymore!! The specs: Brightness (Typical): 300 cd/m2 Contrast Ratio: 800:1 Type: TFT active matrix SXGA LCD Response Time: 5 ms The rest does not matter...So I would like to buy a new Monitor but can't decide which one..So need a little help here....I want to use it mainly for GAMING ( League of Legends) and MOVIES ect... I Prefer a 24" with good quality and a sharp color like my old one.... I did some research on TN vs IPS and found that TN gaming monitors don't have a clear and sharp color view like IPS monitors. I don't mind to get a monitor with 1ms response and 144hz refresh rate but damn some of them( On youtube) just looks terrible and the colors is not sharp at all, even my old LCD looks beter.... So, the screens that I looked at was: BenQ XL2411Z, ASUS VG248QE, ASUS VX248H and some other Samsung and LG IPS screens.... Can you guys give me the BEST possible screen option(even when not on the list) which will give me excellent colors in both gaming and watching movies Is there really that big difference between 1ms vs 5ms, and is it really worth it to give up some color quality for performance??If not, I want a nice monitor that is excellent for both gaming and Movies that looks amazing ->>> Sharp colors ect...

The thing is simple i am here to ask you guys which do you think is the best way to clean a screen.I use a fiber cloth or any kind of clean cloth damped in hot water and wipe the screen then i wipe again with a dry cloth and that's it.It removes all the fingerprints and all kind of marks and dirt also doesn't leave marks after cleaning.

Hi. Since I started using personal computers back in the 1990' until today I have been using CRT monitors. Since my already very old monitor just can't cope with modern HD resolutions very well (actually it works at 30Hz but the picture is a mess) and since it is only 13" which is an issue when doing productive work I am looking for a decent replacement that will give a picture quality that is comparable to a CRT monitor. For ages friends have been joking about me not wanting to use cheap monitors, but when I look into TN or TFT panels my eyes start to suffer after a bit. I just don't like the picture they give! My budget is in the interval from 200$ to 400$, and as mentioned, I am looking something comparable to a CRT, which seem to be IPS panels. I've been looking some models at the local(Zagreb, Croatia, EU) stores but I discovered a weird phenomenon where the models found there are present only in eastern Europe / Russia, so no reviews in English . Of those that I found, I looked the reviews on youtube, but I keep noticing back-light bleed and corner glow on most of them, and I really don't like that. I looked in the LS24D390HL, but that seems to have back-light bleed issues. P.S. How do IPS panels behave with the moving text experiment (as Linus demonstrated on a recent video)?

I very recently built a new rig, and capped it off with shiny new monitor, but it seems I have got myself a dud. I've made a few (poor quality) videos to try and show the issue. In the video above, you can see a dark flickering trailing behind the window as I drag it accross the screen. In the video above, you can see how the test area turns green as I scroll it up to the top of the screen. You can also see this area changing colour as I drag a window accross it. In the video above, you can see some of the images along the top of the web page flickering, and you can also the the large main test area flickering between gery and green. In the video above, I am trying to show how dark the screen goes when I turn on ULMB. This is dificult to convay using my phones camera, as the banding you can see in the video cannot be seen with the naked eye, but the darker stripes are pretty much how dark the whole screen goes. As you can see, I only have the brightness set to 79 with ULMB turned off, and set to 100 with it turned on. Also with it turned on, I can't really see any flicker, but I can feel it, if that makes sense. Feels really strange. The site used in some of the videos is http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/clock_phase.php#clockcalib I would be very greatful if other owners of the PG278Q could confirm that I am the only one with this issue, and possibly even create a quick video for comparison. Thanks

Hello LTT World... I will soon be purchasing my first PC build in a very long time. After long drawn out decision making on the build, I've got it all but figured out with a few exceptions. I've borrowed Linus' "about $2000" build (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jDXbYuNf_s) with some small modifications due to personal preference. What I've come to ask you all today is, if you were buying this exact build (please do not critique the build like other forums have in my quest for answers, it's not in the build section after all! There are a few personal preferences in there that I'm not willing to change), which monitor would you buy? I do a fair bit of uncompetitive gaming, the odd photoshop/video editing for fun with a GoPro, and that's it. I just can't decide if I'm better off with a strong 1440p Monitor now and waiting for higher quality 4K displays, or if this is the right time to jump into 4K. Here is the build - http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/dBbqWZ So the question is simple - what would you buy?

So I have a Samsung LCD-TV (Model No: LNS-4041DX/XAA) it was working fine last night (I was watching Gundam 00 S2) this morning I try and turn it on and get a bootup sound, however I get no picture. Instead, I get a quick flash of the pannel light(s) and off it goes. (the screen, the teelvision itself is still powered on) After some research and phone conversations with Samsung customer support, I find out these TVs are infamously known for capacitor issues (on the powerboard). Seems like Samsung used cheap capacitors. sigh. I opened up the TV and checked the powerboard. to my surprise, all capacitors are fine. none are bulged up or lumpy. yet the board will not power on the LCD. That powerboard is expensive ($80+) and I'm not sure if this would fix my issue as none of the capacitors seem ruined, yet I think this is a power issue.. I don't know what to do anymore, it looks like I have a huge paperweight now a technician wants $60 for inspection (TV has no warrenty) and $90 for repair +parts cost & tax. $150+. I don't have this cash on me, sigh. this is so frustrating, I just want to throw it out the window!! :'( I was having so much fun watching anime/movies in my livingroom.. I was even playing emulators on it

Hi, I have just a quick question, currently I am using Samsung B2430 as my primary LCD, which is a TN, but now I have an opportunity to swap it for Philips 244E5 which is IPS. I cant really decide between the two, IPS is commonly better, but I like the quality of Samsung LCD, I have tested both of them with Eizo MonitorTest and the Philips seems to have problems with gradient from black to color, its not uniform, I can see some stripes. So.. what would you do? Thanks

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask a question. Which monitor under 130$ do you recommend for gaming? I've been looking into the Asus VS247H. What do you think, is there a better option? Thank you My budget just skyrocketed to 180$

Hello, I was wondering what monitor I should get. I have an r9 280x, (but I am climbing up the gpu latter and plan to have a gtx 980 in around 2 months, i am buying gpus low and selling them high), and I wanted to know what monitor I should get. I love a variety of games. I play rift, Wow, TF2, Sims 4, Battlefield 4, Titanfall. I want 1440p or 1600p and above 24 inches. The real trouble I am having is, do i want ips or high refresh rate. Along with the reccomendation please include why I should get the monitor and if somebody could help me know what these terms mean and how they affect the viewing experience. IPS LED LCD Refresh Rate (How will my experience benefit from 60hz to 144hz) G-Sync( I know what it is, will i notice it) Also, try and keep it budget friendly

OLED for cheap! LG, the biggest OLED maker in the tv industry, has given some insight into the state of production, that is not only good news, but very exiting to the future of our home entertainment. Due to the huge increase in yields, LG believes TV sales will be 50/50 OLED and LCD in just 3 years. Why should I care about OLED? Just a few quick bulletpoints for those who don't know about OLED: No backlight bleeding, as each OLED (sub)pixel creates its own light. Perfect blacks. A subpixel will shut off and emit no light, when displaying perfect black. This gives a theoretical contrast ratio that is unlimited. No black crush, as the darkest gray gradients can be perfect, so full detail in very dark scenes. Extremely low response time. Theoretically it can go under 0,01 ms. Enjoy your perfect 10.000 fps. Panels are only 1mm thick. A 55" OLED tv can be made just 4mm thick. Perfect viewing angles with no colour distortion. Personal take: This is amazing news. It is obvious, that LG's strategy of using white OLED's with passive colour filters, is cheaper, easier and more reliant (colours fade at same "half life"), than Samsungs RGB OLED's. This is probably also the reason why Samsung has chosen to leave the OLED tv marked for the time being. Another theory could be that Samsung is reconstructing their production to make white OLED's with passive colour filters, now that Samsung and LG has chosen to stop their OLED patent fights, and instead share their OLED patent. With the debut of a mass production 4k OLED tv from LG this year, we can hope, that the OLED tech is now starting to mature enough to support the high DPI, necessary for our pc monitors. Personally my dream monitor is a 3440x1440 OLED, Adaptive Sync supported monitor in this form: Sources: http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1411039923 LG: OLED can be cheaper than LCD http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/24/samsung-and-lg-settle-lcd-oled-patent-dispute-choose-to-focus/ Samsung and LG settle patent disputes

NCIX: http://bit.ly/1mhTNrJ Amazon: http://georiot.co/20BB The U28D590D or 590D for short from Samsung is the monitor that's bringing 4K into the realm of affordability for desktop users. It's 28", boasts 1ms GTG pixel response times, and support for 1B colors... But is it really as perfect as it seems??

Hey guys, Recently I've been been looking at the differences in displays/monitors. I've heard various differences between the different types but have never really seen supporting evidence from site to site on the various pros and cons. What I'm really wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where to figure out more about the display technology (retina, oled, led, lcd, tn?)? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I'm looking into buying a cheap IPS to replace my mother's horrible current monitor (LG E1951) that uses only VGA and flickers like mad. Do you think it's a good idea to buy an IPS panel for pure office work - e-amil, Word, and Excel, occasional Internet browsing... her computer only has integrated HD2000 (Sandy Bridge i3). It should be 21", 1080p, below 150 €.

Hi all, I'm looking for the cheapest 24" monitor possible. It doesn't matter to me if it's made for gaming, or IPS or whatever. (I don't really notice a difference) No 3D needed. Preferably 60 Hz to match my current monitor. It's also ok if the size is 23.6", but no other size. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! By the way, I'm in Canada so I would need something available to me here.

NCIX: http://bit.ly/WY5yya Amazon: http://georiot.co/3ken ASUS has knocked it out of the park with the PB287Q. This monitor is suitable for casual content creation, gaming, productivity, and pretty much anything else you can think of. If it's time to go 4K, then it's time to go find whichever retailer has the best price on the PB287Q. **IMPORTANT NOTE** Due to the product embargo for this monitor, I can't release the video until 6am pacific time The good news is that it's worth the wait!

NCIX; http://bit.ly/1uhvsaQ Amazon: http://georiot.co/iuc At about the same pixel density as a 24" 1920x1200 display, but much larger and higher res, the BL3200PT looks like it should be an obvious winner, right? Watch on to see our full review!
