Is it just me or is Corsair's K70 RGB (Cherry MX - Red) out of stock everywhere?! I'm in Canada so it usually sells for $220.00. I bought it on NCIX and it's been out of stock for weeks, and the only place I can find it is on Newegg (Canadian version) for $340.00!! Did Corsair's factory explode or a shipping boat sink? It's been a month and I just want to use my keyboard already.... Thanks guys

Ok so my K70s esc key broke when i took it to this LAN party(the LAN was pretty freaking great ) and it wasent the key just falling off, no it broke the stem of the key off i still have the key but what do i do about this? should i use super glue or get a new switch and solder it in or something? i could steal the End key i guess, never used it and im not sure what its suposed to be for anyway, but i dont know if i can do that, i could also emulate a new esc with software like sharpkeys i guess but that wouldent really solve anything. well thanks for any replies and any help here

Hi, Corsair had an update for their software for their peripherals some time ago, and in this update there was a new lighting mode. This new mode enable your keyboard to light up accordingly to the sound input or output, but in order to use it, you have to have one of their headsets. So my question is, can you use the mode, or something similar without one of their headsets?

So my Esc key on my K70 broke last thursday when i was bringing it to a LAN, the part that broke was the stem of the switch and it broke in such a way that gluing it back was a total no. So today i thought it was finally time to do something about it. My plan was this: De-solder the Esc key from the PCB and remove it, then de-solder another switch thats useless to me(End, Scroll lock, Pause/Break) and then re-solder that switch to were the Esc key was on the PCB. This proved to be a real chalange for reasons i did not expect but here is what hapaned, please enjoy or something First off, here is a closer look at how the stem is broken: And here is one of the pice stuck in the Esc key: So first thing i did was decide on what key to remove, and that landed on Scroll lock, it does nothing as far as i can tell: Then I removed the keycaps: It really took a while but here is what it looks like without them: Then i removed the screws, but this is were the problems began, first problem was that i missed a screw, there was dirt on it so i didnt see it at first but i found it eventually, and after wresteling with the keyboard for a while i noticed the volume wheel was resisting my removal attempts, so i basically smashed it until it let go with the back of a screwdriver, not the best thing to do as i later discovered and then the last thing resisting removal was something around the power cord, so i just ripped it apart and something broke, but this was inevitable as i later discovered. This is what broke: And when i noticed i panicked, i thought that this was never going back together but then i look at the PCB and metal plate side and noticed a screw coming from behind the Corsair logo, i was confused because if there was a screw there i surely would have noticed, and when i turned it around there wasent one, it was a threaded stud right of the metal plate so you cant open it without breaking it, not cool Corsair.(sadly dinent take a picture as proof ) well here is a picture of the PCB and metal plate before i started doing stuff to it: I started by locating the Esc key on the PCB, and then i grabed the soldering iron and started my first ever de-soldering, iv done a lot of soldering but i have never taken anything apart so this was my first time using a solder vacuum. I did a pretty freaking poor job at de-soldering the switch and i ended up breaking it because there was just a little bit of solder that i dindnt get with the vacuum and i couldent get to it with the soldering iron to heat it so in my rage i grabbed a pair of needle nose plyers and just riped it out, leaving one of the pins on the PCB, it was easy to remove but the switch is broken even more now . Anyway here is a picture of the empty slot from the Esc key: And from the other side: i compleatly forgot to take pictures of me removing the switch but somehow i got confused and removed the wrong one and then just rolled with it, i removed the Pause/Break key instead of Scroll lock so it didnt really matter but still i removed the wrong one. This time the de-soldering went perfect, the vacuum took all the solder with it and the switch just popped out of the board super easy. The re-soldering of the switch also went really good seeing as i have some experience with it but here is how it turned out in the end: one is a little dark and burned but thats because thats were the pin from the old switch was stuck and i accidetly burned the PCB slightly the ones for the LED(the pair at the top) are OK but the left one for the switch is perfect, not too much solder, not too litle solder, nothing burned and its super shiny. its really good well then came the re-assembly and that went pretty easy so i wont bother showing the pics i didnt even take lol but it went good, there were some problems when i first did it but that was because i dint put in the screws so there were some loose parts in therem that were messing with it, everything worked when i put the screws in but you can really see the marks of the violance that it took to get inside well here is a pic of the final result, this is how it looks right now as i am typing this on it, looks pretty good IMO: Hope you enjoyed this or learned something from it or something so i didnt totally waste your time but thanks for reading

Hi, As you can suppose, I have a Corsair Vengeance K70 (Cherry Red) running on Windows 10 x64 Pro. When I try yo use my media keys (Such as Play/Pause, Next, Stop...) they often work, and they often doesn't work, and this happened even in Windows 8.1 x64 Pro. I've tried to reinstall USB drivers, Keyboard Drivers, re-plugging into another USB, messing around with hidserv service in Windows, but nothing appears to work. If I plug my keyboard to another computer they do work. I use media keys a lot, preferably with iTunes in the background while I'm playing. Can be my GIGABYTE GA-DS3H-Z77 the one that is making this to happen?. You guys can see all the pieces of my rig in my profile. If you could just help me out It would be awesome. Thanks a lot

So last night i upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. Today i went to use one of my simple keybindings that i changed on my Corsair K70RGB however they no longer seem to work. (Q was changed to F1 - W was changed to Esc - E was changed to NUM2 - R was changed to NUM5) Now when i try to use the keys nothing happens with them. Not even their original function. Ive tried to create a new profile with new keystroke changes but i got the same issue. I then got a friend with the same keyboard (who is also on windows 10) to try and change his keystrokes to the same however his didn't work either, they continued to type the default key (however i cant be sure that he wasn't doing it wrong). If anyone else has experienced the same issue i would be massively grateful for your advice.

Hey guys, I purchased a Corsair K70 RGB and I adore everything but the corsair gaming logo on it. My friend wanted a k70 too and doesnt care about the logo. I was wondering if I bought another K70 with the sails logo, would I be able to swap the frames? Thanks, Spirit_Hunter

I have a Maximus VII Hero and a Corsair K70 motherboard.. I'm trying to access the BIOS but the keyboard doesn't turn on until a few seconds after the "enter bios" screen. It was working earlier but now it doesn't. The light on my Razer Deathadder however does always turns on in time for the Bios screen :P

I used to be able to pretty easily find a K70 RGB with Cherry MX Blues, but lately they seem to have been all sold out or not available, and I can't find the Corsair product page for the one with blues. Is it just me, or did something happen to them?

Hi, I just got myself a new K70 and was wondering why there are two USB Cables: (From the manual) -USB Connection cable -USB Pass-through cable What's the difference? Secondly, what's the USB Port on the back of the keyboard for? Because the manual labels it as "USB-Pass-through port", yet that cable is already plugged into the keyboard as well as the "USB Connection cable" Cheers

So I'm currently having a hard time deciding whether to go with the legendary and established Corsair K70 RGB or the new Strafe RGB. This is what I like about the K70 RGB: - Dedicated media keys (especially the volume-dial) - Full aluminum body - Industrial look - braided cable - Legendary status This is why I like the Strafe RGB: - The white key-base - the brighter LEDs - Easier to clean - USB-pass-through - the new Font on the key-caps (yes, a minor thing, but I like the sci-fi look of the new font - please don't judge me. ) But this is not the question really. My question is about the tech inside the keyboards. I read somewhere that people claim that the Strafe RGB have a new lighting-controller compared to the K70 resulting in less light-flickering and smoother "animations"/transitions during the lighting effects. Is this true? I can't find any info regarding this on Corsair's webpage. A side-thought; Is there any chance that newer K70s will be made with the improved LEDs and (if it's true) lighting-controllers or will they stick to the older models for that to create more of a difference between the keyboards? What do you think? Hopefully you can help me. And please share your thoughts of these two keyboards if you have any opinions.

So I'm in abit of a pickle for choosing a Keyboard. A few things first, I'm looking at the STRAFE, the "Red" K70, and their RGB Variants. I have a few questions about each Keyboard. How do the keys of the STRAFE compare to the Aluminum frame of the K70 when pressed? Whats the difference between a Red MX Cherry Switch and a Brown with feel? I've never used Mech and I want to get into a quality keyboard. Id like to have something that isnt loud and has a good feeling of being pressed to it. How does the quality compare between both boards? Do RGB Boards have backlighting color quality issues compared to the singular red coloring of the Normal K70 and STRAFE? Is a wrist rest benificial for gaming sessions or is it unneeded? And over all, what is best for the price?

Long story short, i went to play some serious sam 3 and mess around in the console like normal, except changing anything requires the use of the = key, and for some reason the key isn't working. at least thats what i thought. On a quick note, to get the = here, im using the ascii shortcut (alt + 61) because that's the only way i'm actually able to get it now. Anyway, after closing the game and opening notepad, i tried again and the = + key still doesnt want to type the equals sign. But it's not that the button itself is broken, because if i hold shift, it still types + just fine as if nothing is wrong. I've rebooted, tried all usb ports on my case (3.0 and 2.0), i've force re-installed my keyboards drivers, i've set macros using other keys to try and type the sign and even tried the on-screen keyboard which won't type it either. And what makes this even weirder, is that if i reboot my computer, quickly log in and open notepad again, for the first few seconds of starting up, the button actually works, and then all of a sudden it stops after a while, which leads me to think that something in the start-up process is disabling it maybe? Though nothing i can see in the auto start up menu should make a difference considering the key was working perfectly fine a week or so ago. For the record: Windows 10 x64 i7 4790k Corsair Gaming K70 RGB

So, I got this keyboard back in Mid-June, first day started off fine, with every key doing good. Then after a while the escape key just stuck to this problem where I'd have to put a lot of force for it to register. Like It would have to bottom out and a bit more force to even work, Keep in mind it's consistent to where it will always register if I want it to and I just didn't want to send it back and wait for a replacement for one key. However if I can get some sort of solution to get in the key and maybe fix it? That'd be great. Also they're Cherry MX reds and non RGB if you needed to know Leave some suggestions

I'm looking at a Blackwidow Chroma, and I'm getting more and more into Razer's ecosystem. I have a Firefly and a Razer bag, and planning on a Leviathan. Is it worth getting the Chroma over the K70 RGB though?

So I bought the k70 RGB a week ago for a special price so it costed me as much as a strafe non rgb costs. But I can't forget a black friday deal. The Logitech g710+ was priced at half the price of the strafe non rgb/k70 RGB(on offer). I don't need RGB but I decided to get it because it was cheaper than the k70 non rgb and costed about as much as a regular non rgb mechanical keyboard. Although I've read that the Logitech g710+ keycaps breaks easily so did I do the wrong decision? If you were in my position, would you bought the Logitech or payed twice as much for the K70 RGB?

Hi!, I just recieved my K70 RGB Mx Brown but I'm thinking of exchanging it for a K95 RGB because I came up with a lot of uses for macros, but please let me know if I'm dreaming, or if these are really useful. Uses: 1. Sleep mode button 2. Launching netflix in microsoft edge(so that I can watch in 1080p) 3. Emoticons 4. Cut/Copy/Paste/insert link(Google Docs) 5. Taskmanager 6. Soundswitch 7. Profile Switching Would you pay the extra cost for these macros? Btw, I've gotten offers on both the K70 RGB and K95 RGB for quite a lot less than they originally are. Reference: Corsair Strafe(non rgb): 1250kr K70rgb: 1290kr (usually 1750kr) K95rgb: 1635kr (Usually 2090kr) So is it worth it? Will I use them?

Hi, I heard the backlight was breaking easily on the Corsair K70. Is that true ? Because the taxes are very high here and this one isn't too expensive on Amazon, and is also QWERTY ...

So I'm upgrading my K&M set up. I've been pretty set on the Corsair K70 RGB with red switches, but I just saw that Corsair released a Strife model with RGB and now I'm torn. Halp. I'm already set that I want Corsair, I've tried to razer equivalent and I'm not that fond. Suggestions?

Hello, I have recently noticed that my Cosair K70 has not been showing colour correctly on the 'C' key. I have attached an image which shows the keyboard and the corsair software. As you can see, the entire keyboard is set to be white, however the 'C' key is not, it is pink. This also happens for other colours. For example when using light blue the 'c' key is dark blue. I was wondering if anybody else is having this issue and that it's a problem with the Corsair software and will be resolved with a firmware update or if it is a hardware issue. If it is a hardware issue, any ideas on how to fix it? Many Thanks Rhys Powell. SOLVED: Was a hardware issue that i couldn't solve without voiding the warranty. To fix i advise contacting corsair and as long as you have proof of purchase (amazon email or something) they will send you another.

Hi, I wanted to know if any non RGB k70's died on the owners of such keyboards, if so, did you find a fix or did you have to return it, and does anyone know why this happens? I am about to buy one in the next 2 days and wanted to know before my purchase. Thanks.
