Hey guys. So i'm having an issue with iTunes being a stubborn git at the moment. I have it installed to my storage hdd, but iTunes has placed it's music library on my SSD. I have attempted to change the folder location manually in the advanced settings, but it keeps reverting itself to the old location on restart. Anyone got any experience with this? I'm a little stuck. Thanks.

My friend has an ipad that has a password on it. he forgot the password and has no computer to sync it to so we're using mine. since it's never been synced before it asks for us to do something on the ipad before we can restore it. but we can't do that because we don't know the password, is there any way to restore the ipad without having to type in the password at all?

Does iTunes still wreck old computers? I remember that on my old Windows XP family computer in about 2006, opening iTunes would render the whole thing useless. Using it was slow and awful, and you couldn't do anything else while is was open. I also remember a few of my friend's computers acting the same way. I haven't used a non-gaming computer in a while (except at school, with no iTunes) so I wonder is this still true? Thanks for reading!

Logan from Tek Syndicate has made some great overview/tutorial videos on open source music player Foobar2000. Videos are made for starters so not much new info for long time users like myself. But very well made and informative. Focus is bit for finding alternative for iTunes. Part 1: Part 2: Part 3:
-
Ready to ditch iTunes? Logan will show you how: There is a playlist, but the videos are in reverse order for some reason. foobar2000 is a highly customizable and versitile music player. I've been looking for an alternative to iTunes for a long time that can also manage iPods, and this looks like the ticket. It gives you even more and better control of your iPod than iTunes ever did!

Hello friends! Just like linus, I left iOS for android once before, however I ended up grabbing an iPhone again. My only reason was iTunes integration. I was wondering, with all the members in this forum, any feedback with using the programs that phones now have that sync the phones. (ie. HTC Sync or Samsung Kies) Question is, is there a way for me to sync itunes to any of new android phones? I know it is always possible for me to just quit using itunes cold turkey, but I do have some purchases on iTunes and podcasts I am subscribed to. That is why I'd like to keep syncing my music to itunes, beyond that though I really love android and I would like as much feedback as I can get. Especially from people who have had experience with these apps(HTC Sync or Samsung Kies) already.

Some things are just never going to happen. Some things are just highly unlikely. With Steve Jobs around it was unthinkable for Apple to bring the iTunes Store to Google’s Android mobile platform, but in a post-Steve Jobs world, it’s looking increasingly possible that those packing non-Apple hardware could be able to buy songs from iTunes. According Billboard, that claim to be in the know about such things, Apple is considering making the iTunes Store available on Android devices in a similar way to how iTunes was brought to Windows. Apple knows that more iTunes users means more iTunes customers, and with digital music sales declining in the face of stiff competition from streaming services like Spotify, Apple may see Android as a way of halting that decline. Of course, Apple’s former CEO Steve Jobs famously said that he didn’t want to bring iTunes to Android because he didn’t want to ‘make Android users happy.’ "We thought about whether we should do a music client for Android. We put iTunes on Windows in order to sell more iPods. But I don’t see an advantage of putting our own music app on Android, except to make Android users happy. And I don’t want to make Android users happy." Current CEO Tim Cook has gone on record to say that his company has no ‘religious issue’ with bringing its iOS apps to Android if it was deemed to be in the company’s interest. It sounds increasingly likely that his words carried a little more weight than we first thought. On the subject of falling sales, reports also suggest that Apple is in talks with music labels about starting up its own on-demand streaming service. Spotify, Rdio and Beats Music currently have that market sewn up, but a company such as Apple has the ability to blow that wide open, even if Google’s own offering hasn’t managed it thus far. If Apple is serious about bringing iTunes to Android, then it may only be a matter of time before we see a Windows Phone version to go along with it. We wouldn't dare suggest that either are inevitable, but it sure would make sense for all concerned. I'm still not convinced. I think it would be disrespectful to against the founder of the company. But if it happens, that is one huge step for apple being un-appley Source: http://www.redmondpie.com/never-say-never-itunes-for-android-may-be-on-its-way/

Hi guys, since this morning, my PC doesn't boot up any more. I was away for a week, came back yesterday, turned it on, it worked fine. Problems began when I shut it down: After the Windows shutdown screen disppeared, the machine kept running, fans spinning, but no output of any kind (screen went to standby, USB devices not powered). I decided to keep my hands away and let it run through the night. When I checked this morning, it was in boot screen (with the logo moving, so not frozen), but not going anywhere. I pushed the reset button, and it went to recovery mode, but giving me an error 0x80070002. MS support lists this as a Windows update error. I can't remember my PC performing a Windows update, but I didn't pay close attention to it. In my absence, six updates marked "Important" were released (KB 971033, 2890788, 2901126, 2898869, 915597). I also did an iTunes update to version 11.1.5. I did not do any changes to my hardware. Right now, I have it back in boot screen again, waiting. USB devices are not powered yet. My OS is Windows 7 Pro 64, my hardware can be seen in my signature. I am completely mystified. What can I even do? Regards, Tataffe

after watching Linus' review of the Iphone 5s and hearing his opinion on Itunes I was wondering why people think it's a bad program. I've never had problems with it and it does the job, so why do you think Itunes is bad? what do you use instead and why? why should I change my music player? keep in mind I have an ipod I want to sync with my music player.

Ok in itunes when you start the visualizer it opens a new window in full-screen. I need to find the executable file if that is what it is and apply some anti aliasing to it. I can't find the process my self. You may be asking why does this guy use itunes when there is foobar 2000? Well, their visualizers are nothing compared to magnetosphere by the barbarian group.

Hey guys, i am searching for an alternative to organize my music on my PC and smartphone. I recently finished my gaming PC build, which is now my main Computer, after using my laptop for 2 years as my main driver. Back then i had an iPhone and i used iTunes to organize my music and sync it to my phone. I sorted my music in many many playlists as opposed to just import whole albums so i have put much work into my library. Later i switched to a Nexus 4 and kept syncing my music over iTunes via an app called iSyncr. The reason why i did this, is obviously the amount of organizing work I've put into my iTunes already and the fact that iTunes was a program to flawlessly sync my playlists to my phone without messing up the order of the songs or anything like that. Now with my new gaming PC i decided to finally cut off the last apple dependency and switch to a new media player. Honestly i don't know what to pick because there are just so many! Here are some points that i am looking for in a media player: - Easy creating and managing songs in playlists -sync the playlists flawlessly to a smartphone (!) -import my exisiting iTunes library (optional) -being overall appealing and nice to use If you have read all of this so far i really appreciate it and i would be glad if someone has similar issues and needs for a media player or maybe has experienced/used a media player the way i want to use it and give me some advice. ;)

Hey Guys hopefully someone will be able to help me quickly on this one, My iPad won't connect properly to my build PC. No matter if I plug it in to a 3.0 port or a 2.0 one, It dosn't help. On the iPad's side- When I plug the iPad, it says "Trust this computer?" and the box will minimize and maximize repetitively. As well as the battery icon will repetitively go from "Not Charging [==]" to "49% [==]" to charging very quickly. On the PC's side- You can look at the attached images.

Hello, one day I was importing my CD's on to my computer through iTunes and I noticed that when I import them and try to play them it won't play the song I select and will cycle through my songs trying to play them until it reaches a song that I bought off the iTunes store then it will play that song only. I noticed the songs say "Not Available" and I cannot play them off the CD's either I have to use Windows Media Player. BTW I have Windows 8.1 if it helps.

I've been searching for a long time for an app that can import my iTunes library properly into my android phone (Samsung Nexus S). I've found apps like doubletwist can import the playlists but not in the order found in my iTunes playlists. If anybody knows of an app that can do all of this properly it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ps It's android 4.1

I'm one of those people that runs every single program as admin, (even though I'm the PC's admin, programs still need the manual "Run as" sometimes). I use iTunes to sync to my iDevices (ofc) and Notepad to make notes and such. By force of habit I run iTunes as admin and drag and drop never works. Running "normally" lets me drag and drop and such, but my addiction to running as admin makes "normal" running seem naked (lol idk wtf). Notepad always starts as normal. That means I can drag and drop all day, everyday. That makes editing files in such directories as Program Files, however, a true hassle. Running as admin, I can save edited "protected" files all day, everyday--it's just that I have to use File>Open and find the file in whatever convoluted path it is in. TL;DR: Running some programs as admin means drag and drop is not possible. Is there a fix or is this just how Windows works? (W7 SP1 64bit)

First of all let me thank you for taking your time to read this. I updated my IPhone to IOS7 from IOS4, i followed the steps on itunes but after the update I was prompted to imput a password for the recovery (all my contacts, emails, messages, etc.) I did not in any step of this process created a password for the recovery. I have tried it all. My itunes password, my itunes ID, my unlock code on Iphone, 1234, 1235 (some sites sugested this) EVERYTHING. but nothing has worked. I have spent a lot of time on this. I really am completely desperate. I cannot continue my business without my phone the way I had it, so please please help me. Some sites suggested using the windows Admin password, but i dont have an admin password for this pc. I have figured the only way to obtain that password is either to brute force it (which is pointless with my pc) or something crazy like checking itune's code for how it came up with this password on its own. As I stated before I am really desperate and willing to pay anyone who comes up with a solution. Please any help is deeply appreciated. Thank you. (sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes, english is not my first language.)

Right, so I updated it to 11.2 and now it won't open. Tried to run as administrator, little box pops up, I click yes and still nothing happens. Anyone got any ideas?

Just some simple questions about your music What Music Software do you use? I used to use iTunes on Windows to play and organise my music. It was simple to use, free and worked well. I know its a system resource hog but it never mattered to me and my 2500k. I also used DoubleTwist to sync the music to my Android phone. Upon the release of Google Music I uploaded all the music from my Library and started streaming it to my phone. I currently subscribe to Google Music All Access and use the web client to listen to all my music and more. How do you acquire your music? When I used iTunes, I downloaded music in a way that didn't cost...if you get what I mean. After doing this for a couple of years and feeling guilty, I started listening to music on Spotify; the free version with adverts. However when they started putting monthly playtime limits restrictions on free users, I subscribed to Google Music Access (when it finally released in the UK) and have not looked back yet. Costs £7.99 a month and the first month was free. I will be dead before I purchase music off iTunes at £0.99 per song! How much music do you have? When I had my iTunes Library I had 13,737 songs which totalled 99.72GB (41.2 days). Now using Google Music All Access I obviously have access to their library of X,000,000,000 songs SO, WHAT ARE YOUR ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS?

Alright, so right now in my system, I have about 3TBs of data across three drives (and a 120GB SS boot drive). I am somehow running low on space. I don't know how. It doesn't really matter. I finally got around to purchasing an additional WD Black drive which has 3TBs of space, and when it gets here, I want to start moving stuff over to it, but only certain things. I don't want to move my iTunes library, for instance, because then relocating it leaves me with a bunch of duplicates and it is just such a pain to fix it all. I know, the easy solution is to not use iTunes, but I've used it for so long now that I just don't want to bother getting a better one. So, while I can take care of Steam games and non-registry dependent stuff like photos and videos, I was wondering how I should take care of all the other programs that aren't controlled by something on my boot drive (Steam, Origin, UPlay, etc.). Is there a way to do mass registry edits? Like, moving over everything from the 1TB WD Black drive I have, and then doing like, a find and replace on everything located under the E:/ drive to whatever the new drive ends up being named? Or could I move everything over to the new drive, and then just change the name to E:/? But then I'd have to worry about what to do about the stuff on the D:/ and G:/ drives that needs to be moved, so I guess I'm definitely looking for some kind of mass regedit thing. I've tried Googling and found some stuff, though mostly the results are looking for Mass Effect registry edits. The most relevant result was to some Windows systinternal download section or something. That was by searching for [mass regedit]. I also tried searching for [mass regedit -"mass effect"], and didn't really get anything, though my Google skills may be incorrect, there. I figure at least a few people here should probably have dealt with something similar and would know a good way of going about it.

I noticed a few months ago that using iTunes, drag and drop is disabled when I run the program as an administrator. (Side inquiry, why should we have to run things as admin even though we're the admin?) Running iTunes as a normal user lets me drag and drop. Similar is observed with Photoshop and Premiere Pro, along with VLC and Notepad, basically everything. Why should admin status disable the convenient drag-and-drop feature? Security? Bug? Sweg?
