Hi, I would like to know if anyone knows of a way to set a windows to accept input even if it's not in focus. AKA, in the background. So say I have Firefox open. I'm typing in Firefox. But I also have Text Editor open and it's also getting the same input. So if I type www.linustechtips.com in Firefox's URL bar, it will also type www.linustechtips.com in Text Editor. I was wondering if Unity or some other Windows Manager could do that. Thanks, Vitalius.

So I recently moved my PC from an old HAF case to a new NZXT case (with the addition of new storage space) and since the move I haven't had analog audio through the Realtek HD audio controller. All PC parts in current build found here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Dv86FT -not actually using 6 monitors, just haven't gotten rid of the last 3 There are topics upon topics with the same issue: http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/177807-realtek-audio-not-detecting-speakers-headphones.html http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f23/realtek-hd-audio-not-detecting-plugs-in-the-front-or-back-panels-881433.html http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/realtek-high-definition-audio-onboard-not/a6f4cafa-ac84-49f3-8c08-fd5aa58296ed Here's what I've done since rebuilding my PC to try and fix this: 1- Un-plugged analog audio devices, plugged back in 2- Reset/Refresh PC (the one that keeps user files but resets windows files) ...(usually is used when it is suspected that a Windows file is corrupt) 3- Disconnected all audio devices, disabled all audio devices that aren't the Realtek devices. 4- Completely cleaned Realtek from PC, restarted PC, ran cleaner, 110% clear of Realtek, re-install Realtek 5- Updated motherboard BIOS to absolute latest version found. 6- Disconnected front panel cord, restart, insert audio device. 7- Turned off AZALIA audio in BIOS and used USB headset. (headset still works, because it's a separate system from the board) ...(Logitech G930) 8- ^Re-enabled AZALIA audio (so people don't think I just left it off) With the move to the new case I DID re-install windows because I set up a RAID system across my drives. (2 Intel drives are RAID 0 for OS, 2 HDDs are RAID 0 for storage, remaining SSDs are RAID 1 for games) The new RAID setup made me have to re-install my OS on the OS drives noted above, thus why I did step 2. I have no idea what to try next... the internet has failed me past the 8 steps above... only remaining thing that I have yet to try that I see is resolving other people's issues is to RMA their MOBO... I'd rather not do this unless I could 'persuade' ASUS to send me a replacement before I send them mine. (this is the 4th motherboard problem I've had in the past years time... first 2 DOA, third was the current motherboard model that had failed RAM slots, and now this audio issue) I will be opening a support ticket with ASUS and pleading my case for a covered replacement tomorrow when they open but if by any chance someone else has a better idea let me know. -Bill

Hello Everyone Recently I have just heard about this thing called "raw input" basically, it disables 'Windows Mouse sensitivity interference while you are in game.' I have found this really useful while playing a few games, (That allow you to enable raw input). But I was thinking, what if you could just disable windows sensitivity as a whole? and just use raw input from your mouse? Now this idea, I have tried searching on the net. But I don't seem to find any programs/software that will allow you to 'enable raw input' and disable windows mouse sensitivity. If anyone has found or even perhaps created a program to disable windows mouse sensitivity, and enable raw input straight from your mouse. Please let me know of any information, because since I do work with animation, that sometimes requires a finer touch then windows sensitivity. So yeah guys, I hope this made sense, if it doesn't and you have any suggestions. Just let me know. Cheers, Pepsomo.

Hello LTT Community! Today I come to you guys with a giant issue that appeared out of no where. I have been happily using my setup like this for a good month before I started to get this issue. Any audio that is output is being picked up by my microphone input. Its not my headset. I can mute my microphone and unplug it outright and still get the same issue. Example: Were in a Skype call together. I talk to you with no problem. You reply to me however when I hear you start to talk. My microphone picks it up and pushes it to you. Then you can hear yourself talk. My Specs: http://pastebin.com/rrpNDShd(DTS drivers) I have tried multiple headsets. I have tried multiple speakers I have tried updating to different version of the audio drivers I have tried through "Speakers/Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC)" and Razer's Surround Audio Controller Pro The "Play what you hear" feature is off. Stereo mix is disabled Plugged into front and back audio I cant find out why this is happening. It randomly one day occurred and now it wont go away. Any help would be much appreciated Regards

Assignment: For example take this user input and set it up into individual Integers/Doubles: Type 2 level 5 Attack 80 Defense 60 Base 20 STAB 1 Critical 2.0 Random 0.9 Damage is 14 I have researched the Scanner class with no luck. I know I have to use .nextInt(); and so on but don't know how to actually format it. I can't seem to find any examples either. It would be great if somebody can pint me in the right direction.

So my dad was going to get the LG 25UM57-P ultrawide monitor. It has a 25" IPS Display, with a resolution of 2560 X 1080. The problem is, the monitor has two HDMI inputs, and his laptop outputs only include a DisplayPort and Thunderbolt Port. I was looking at adapters, and most of them only seem to support up to 1920 X 1200. I found one on Monoprice which supports up to 2560 X 1600, but I was wondering how this is even possible. Are there different quality HDMI cables, which support different resolutions? Not to mention this adapter cost up to five times cheaper than some of the other ones ($7 compared to up to $35.) Any information regarding HDMI, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt cables, as well as their adapters, is much appreciated. Thanks.

I currently have this problem when I play BF4 my input seems to disconnect and reconnect every few minutes. At first i assumed it was my mouse because when I connect my G700S to my PC via the included cable my keyboard and mouse lag out for a second when the mouse changes from wireless to wired or vice versa. The weird thing is this problem doesn't occur when i play other games or even use the desktop it's only in BF4. I know the wireless connection is good since my wireless receiver is about 4 inches from where i use my mouse and there isn't anything in my house that would transmit enough noise to cause any problems. I have also played the game just fine in the past without any mouse lag or whatever so i'm pretty sure it's not my mouse. Just incase I didn't explain it well enough the problem is that every few min maybe (1-4min) my screen will lockup for a second and when it fixes my guy will be stuck walking in the same direction or my mouse will be stuck but it fixes after a second or two. I thought maybe this was a game bug but I can't seem to find much about it online so I thought I'd ask here. This video isn't mine but this is what happens to me except it doesn't last as long as it does in the video...

So I've had the Razer version of the Nostromo for over a year now. And just recently, when I plugged it in my PC recognized it as a "Razer Bootloader," and shows up in the safely eject device option of the desktop tray. Synapse no longer recognizes it, and as a result, no longer offers system input. I can't really afford a replacement, and I rely on this thing a lot due to comfort reasons during long work and play sessions. Please help. Is this a driver issue? Something with Synapse? Problem with the device itself? Did Windows update do something wrong?

Hi all, I have a bit of an unorthodox problem: I have a Logitech G500 and I lost the screw which attaches the scroll wheel toggle switch located below the wheel on the mouse. I disassembled the mouse a while back to clean it and the screw is lost. Does anyone have an idea of what size screw this is? I had to use an extremely small screwdriver to remove it.

Hey guys, I am used to building (or theory-buildling) high performance gaming rigs and can usually figure out best price-performance for someone's needs. However, my aunt has asked me to build her a PC for her work at home. She said, "I want it to be the best, but at the same time keep it cheap." As per the usual debauchery, the guy who she usually buys computers from said it would cost her $1,000. To prove a point, I said I could do it in under $500. Now, I can. However, I want to do the best and I would like others inputs in regards to this.

Hi guys. I'm relativley new to java. I'm writing an app for android that can calculate power costs depending on user input. Now I need to set a view variables via Dropdown menus/Spinners. I've got some code here: http://pastebin.com/mLV14MRk I know that //stunden and //tage are about as efficient as it gets. But is there any way I could make the first part (//kantone) more efficient? Thanks for your replies.

The video pretty much explains it. Everytime I plug my charger into my laptop, the speakers output a radio station when they are also plugged in. The laptop is muted when I recorded this, so the radio signal is probably being channeled through my charger and into my speakers via my laptop. I'm guessing the wall outlet is poorly grounded. There is a wall to the left of my laptop with outlets on each side. I tried both and get the same result. I even used a power strip. The audio is very faint because my phone doesn't pick up audio very well when recording, my apologies; so you would need to turn up your volume to hear it. It is fairly loud and annoying in person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vETLfRvaqtY edit: I have a usb "soundcard" that has an audio plug. Used that, and also get the same thing Can somebody please help me, please?

Can i use the HDMI port on my Asus N56VZ for input from my main rig. If not is there such thing as a USB to HDMI input adapter that i can use. The end goal in that i can take my rig and notebook somewhere and use the display on my notebook for my main rig rather than hauling my BenQ 2420T monitor around.

Input Lag, the evil of all evils. I've watched Linus and Slick say in one of the live streams that V-Sync adds a lot of input lag, and I can confirm that it really does. They also stated that anti-aliasing also affects input lag. But my question is, what other graphical settings cause input lag? Going down the BF3 settings as an example: Ambient Occlusion Anisotropic Filtering Anti-aliasing Deferred Anti-aliasing Post Another thing I read a little about was triple buffering in the nvidia console menu, but I've read mixed reviews on it. Some people claiming that it helps REDUCE input lag, while other people claim that it ADDS input lag. Do you guys have a concrete understanding on this subject? I'm a seasoned Street Fighter player, and even ONE FRAME of input lag completely throws my game off, as there are commands/inputs/combos that require the correct input to be done within exactly 1 frame of the game, that runs at a native 60fps. I know it may not be that big a deal for FPS and RTS games, but I'd still like to know THE BEST settings for THE LOWEST amount of input lag. Thanks in advance for your input, guys.

'sup people, I was wondering, if there is a way for shadowplay to record your voice. I tried to going into control panel and listening to the device and then doing it, but that gave others terrible echo on skype. I tried outputting my voice through the speakers in my monitor, while turning the sound to 0 on the monitor itself, that didn't work either. I know that currently shadowplay is in beta and there is no official way, but I was wondering if there is a workaround of some sort? p.s. I had no idea where to put this topic, so if it's in the wrong place, please move this topic.

I've seen Linus use a monitor latency tester device thing on a video before. Do you know where I could buy one? I'm not sure of the exact name of the product. Thank you, Blueprint EDIT -> I have found the device: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=89&products_id=212

Need input on a cheap gaming build for my nephew.
Vitalius posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I'm planning a build for my nephew that needs to be able to do 1080p medium-very high gaming (depending on the game) at 35-60+FPS. Considerations: Used is fine as long as it's not from some random guy who I can't trust. Ebay trusted sellers are acceptable for example. Max Budget is $375 including shipping (not tax). I already own peripherals, an OS, a case and a monitor. Future proofing is irrelevant imo as this is so cheap that I don't see it as worth the money/time/effort honestly. The two CPUs are because I'm conflicted about choosing between quad core or dual core. I'm not sure if the benefit would be worth it. Also, I have ECC RAM listed there because the motherboard & CPU support it and it's the cheapest set of 2x2GB RAM I can get. This means I can one day use this as a weak File Server if I wish.
