I built my first gaming pc (with help) and im really pleased with it but it has one issue, the headphone jack port is one of those old ones that has a audio port and a mic port but my headphones which also have a mic attached only use 1 port so i cant use a mic with my new pc. Ive looked for adapters on amazon but they all apparently degrade the mic and audio quality. What do I do? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I have some apple earbuds that I've had for a month or two now. Ever since I've been using my new laptop my earbuds will actually shock the inside of my ears when I am lying on the floor. Could this be caused by static electricity? It is really annoying and it only really happens with this laptop. Even if I put my finger on the side of the laptop sometimes I get a nasty shock too. Anyone know how to fix this or the reason for it?

Hello, I have bought the Sony Xperia T3 about a year ago, it was working fine and i was very satisfied with my purchase, but for some whatever reason almost exactly a year after buying the phone it`s speakers, headphone jack and mic aren`t working and above all that i am getting no signal on my phone. The mic and headphone jack don`t respond at all. The speakers make a static like sound when there needs to be sound outputted. I have tried factory resetting my phone, tried the sony reset key button, tried updating the software on my phone and tried the repair option in the software but without results, tried opening the phone to see if anything is disconnected or damaged, but nothing nothing of the sort was found. My phone isn`t under a warranty anymore so that wouldn`t be an option . However Wi-fi is working. Haven`t tried anything else and i think that my 3G and 4G aren`t working. What do I do? Thank you in advance!

Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10658/apple-announces-iphone-7-iphone-7-plus-a10-fusion-soc-new-camera-wide-color-gamut-preorders-start-sept-9th So today at their September 7th Apple Event, Apple has announces the newest, latest, and greatest iPhone, the iPhone 7. But first we have to start with the specs. The big changes here are with the CPU, GPU and display. We now get a new A10 chip, which remarkably is built on big.LITTLE. The new A10 Fusion packs 2 "Fast Cores," which are supposed to be a lot more powerful than the A9. As well, it packs 2 "Efficient Cores," the nature of which we do not know (it may be something like an A53, or a custom Apple CPU). It is possible that most of the 20% battery life improvement Apple is touting is because of big.LITTLE. As well, the GPU is a lot more powerful. The display this time no longer uses sRGB but rather DCI-P3, which is a larger gamut, allowing a wider spectrum of colors. The new iPhone also has gotten rid of the 16gb option and has added a 256 gb option. This is good to see as 16gb is just too little these days. Another one of the neat things is the home button-Apple has gotten rid of the physical part and made the home button much like a force-touch display. Now, theoretically the home button could have a regular tap and a "click," though as far as we know it doesn't behave like this yet. Most likely this is implemented to make the button last longer as well as to make the phone more water-resistant. Which brings us to this... The iPhone 7 is IP67 water resistant! Yes, you heard that right! It may not be like the s7 which is IP68 (the difference is the S7 is rated for 30 minutes in up to 1.5 meters of water, whereas the iPhone 7 is rated for 30 minutes in up to 1 meter of water), but this is still neat to see. Now you no longer have to freak out if you accidentally get water on your iPhone! There's also some other cool features like stereo speakers, a slightly new camera, dual cameras on the 7 plus, and a new jet black finish, but for the controversial part: The headphone jack. The rumors were true, and the iPhone 7 really does not have a headphone jack. Apple does include an adapter in the box, though, which is good to see, but this will present a hurdle for some people who don't want to have to carry an adapter with them or charge their phone while listening to music. Apple does have a solution to this: The AirPods. Unfortunately, these cool wireless earbuds will set you back $159, which is quite a considerable amount of money. Overall I think the iPhone 7 sounds like a really neat phone. There may be some drawbacks like the headphone jack, but there are also a lot of cool things like a new SoC and water resistant. What are your thoughts?

Hi Everyone. I just downloaded the Roku App on my Android smartphone to be able to control my Roku 3 (2015 model). I really love how how much better the voice search is on it overall and it feels way more intuitive to scroll/search for my content. However, there is one thing keeping me from fully switching over: Private Listening. I cannot listen to any movie/show dialog using just my Smartphone, even with Bluetooth enabled. And before you ask why not just use the Roku 3 remote, for some reason my Roku 3 remote's headphone jack for Private Listening audio skips periodically, thus preventing me from fully enjoying my show. This has never happened to me on my PS4 console via the controller, but that's beside the point. Am I missing something? Is there any way to enable Private Listening on the Smartphone itself? Please let me know if anyone can help. Thank you.

I don't know if this can be solved by installing a different Android Version or just by an App so any Mod may feel free to move this to the more appropriate section (not that ie ould need to give permission for that ) I have a OnePlus 3 and the Amp is pretty powerful which is good. I can drive my DT880s as my previous phone drove any normal 100+dB Spl headphones even though they are 96dB Spl. This also comes at a cost. My normal Apple earpods or Bose AE2s which are not around 105dB Spl (I supposed) reach normal listening volume at around 40-50%. That in conclusion lso means that I can with (with Hardware Buttons of course) only cycle that usable are with about 6-7 steps. Those steps are to large imo and any more than rougu adjustment has to be done by hand on the Touchscreen. Is there an App that could gix this like Lux can fix the brightness issues of some Phones or do I need a different Android Version altogether to do what my ear desires: change the size of the volume steps so I essentiallx have to click more to reach full volume but have more control on anything between.

Source: http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/21/wsj-iphone-7-report/ The Wall Street Journal is the latest to report on Apple’s expected plans for the iPhone 7, describing a situation where the iPhone 7 closely resembles the iPhone 6s minus the headphone jack. WSJ reports that this will result in a thinner design that’s more water-resistant than current models. But the report also believes the 2017 iPhone will be dramatically different, featuring an OLED display like the Apple Watch and embedding the Touch ID sensor in the display while losing the Home button… The iPhone 7 is also expected to have cleaner design with regards to the antenna bands and potentially a new colour option. Camera upgrades are said to be the biggest selling point for this year's iPhone with the 5.5" having a dual lens system. Also the new storage configuration is rumored to be 32GB,128GB & 256GB I guess I understand that they might actually have been focusing on 10th Anniversary iPhone for a this year. Regardless, even though most of the new smartphones don't have anything special in particular, only being usual spec bump Apple's surely going to get bad press when the iPhone 7 launches even if the camera turns out great Note: Apple isn't getting rid of the jack to make the device thinner. They themselves have products namely the iPod and iPad which are almost about a whole millimeter thinner despite having the headphone jack

My headphone jack hasn't been working for some time. I have tried different headphones - doesn't work. My computer recognizes whenever I put in my headphones but I never get any sound out of them. My drivers are up to date - basically I've done as much leg work trying to sort this issue out with no success. Any ideas to give me a hand?

Ok, so LTT audio community lend me your wisdom in this if you please because I feel way over my head in all this. A few months ago I accidentally broke my laptop's (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03394757) headphone jack by the headphones plugged in getting sucked up by the vacuum cleaner on accident and yanking the cord out. It was relatively functional until I took it to a repair shop whose poking and prodding has made it totally non-functional. They said it will be a $400 repair because the jack is soldered onto the motherboard some special way that you'd basically have to buy a whole new motherboard to fix it and I could buy a whole new (admittedly crappy) laptop for that kind of money, so I'm less inclined to have it fixed rather than use a workaround because the rest of the laptop works wonderful for my use. This leaves me with the decision of do I get a USB Bluetooth adapter (like $20 at Best Buy) and some Bluetooth headphones such as the Audio Technica ATH-S700BT (http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-S700BT-SonicFuel-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B015N52XDI) OR do I get what they're calling an "external sound card" such as these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1454463005&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=external+usb+sound+card&dpPl=1&dpID=51FLiQuh7EL&ref=plSrch http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000N35A0Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?qid=1454463024&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=external+usb+sound+card&dpPl=1&dpID=315YCtwvgfL&ref=plSrch And get a pair of ATH-M50x's (no link needed really, you all know these lol). I have 0 idea of sound quality these options offer and I hope you guys can help me make my decision. Of course if your solution isn't one of these and you have a better idea, that is welcome as well.

I got a pair of ATH-M50X for last Christmas. After using it for the first time, I was kinda let down by the disappointing results due to not sounding that great as it was in an audio store. Then, the audio jack kept slipping out of the port all the time, and I blamed both the jack and port. It was quite frustrating, also I felt I was listening to a 25$ headphone instead to a 150$ one, and I considered to almost return it. But just today, I was thinking about how much of a pain it would be to hook up external speakers, and then I came into conclusion I never pushed the damn headphone jack hard enough into the port! It is really a night and day difference hearing the full potential of the M50's after finally figuring it out. Did anyone also have this happened to you?

I recently bought a pair of Razer Kraken Pro's off of amazon for some movie watching and gaming. First off I noticed that the mic input won't work with my computer. The Krakens come with a splitter and a combined jack, my computer doesn't have a separate input and output jack just a combined jack. So I plugged it in and no one could hear me. I went on a skype echo/test call and heard that no mic input was going through. I plugged in other headphones and they still didn't work. Is my jack broken or can it just not take mic input? If its broken are there any tips on how to go about it? Also on a side not the krakens leak A LOT of noise. Is that just a flaw with the headphones or is something messed up? Because I still have time to get a RMA if they are.

My new iPhone sometimes acts weird. Sometimes the command center is not working properly but worse is actually that I you stop listening to music and keep the headphones in you will always hear this noise click 20-40secobds after. I sound exactly like and apm turning of with the speakers still connected. It is this clicky sound thing. Also on edge can me pushed in a small part of a millimeter. It's the opposite side of the headphone jack on the front and it makes this click/bending sound. Has anyone got similar problems? I am just really curious as to WAHT THE ACTUAL FUCK Apple did with the iPhone 6. My iPod 3 was so much smoother back in the day Hardware felt like high quality and software went smooth other than performance issues caused by the power my processor in some cases was lacking.

Summary Twitter user Mauri QHD, who is a reliable leaker, has said that Samsung is considering bringing back the headphone jack back to their next smartphones. It is not known if it will be coming to the S line or Note line, but it is likely to come sometime in 2021. This will be an experiment for Samsung and as such, it may only be back for one year. Quotes My thoughts I really hope it comes back. I wont be getting it, but if it does well, then hopefully Apple will bring it back to their phones and tablets. Lets hope this trend is almost over! Ah, the headphone jack, the slow death of which in consumer devices has generated a lot of discussion and debate. If you know me, you'd know that I am currently in the camp of "I don't like this" until a proper replacement standard has been certified and put into use (Bluetooth, while improved, still isn't there yet and while USB-C had potential, there's one thing which hampers it which I'll explain later). I've seen a lot of reasons why some people don't like having no headphone jack, ranging from being unable to change while plugging in headphones without a splitter to the risk of losing the included dongle amongst other things. While many of which are quite valid reasons, there's another problem. USB-C audio isn't quite universal. To quote myself on a YouTube video; The problem is that in its current state, USB-C audio has a dizzying array of different standards which utilize the same port. The U11's included earbuds won't work on most other USB-C devices that aren't HTC phones while the Motorola dongle along with some others don't work with other USB-C phones and even laptops. I'm not going to mention Apple because while they also use a proprietary standard (Lightning), at least if you buy Lightning accessories from a good named manufacturer, it is almost guaranteed to work. With USB-C, it's just a fragmented mess of different standards utilizing the same port. That's why I was very happy to hear that although Google killed the headphone jack on the Pixel 2s, they have used a proper universal standard that properly works on other USB-C phones and even laptops. This is what it should be. Not a crapton of proprietary standards on a universal connector that we have no idea whether it works on other devices until we plug it in. Just to clarify, I'm not "hating change". I just dislike change when there's no real reason to and when it is actually a downgrade in some ways. I recently purchased wireless headphones anyhow.
