Hi, I'm getting a new case with a front USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C port, but my motherboard only has Gen 1 headers. Does anyone know of any PCIe addon cards that provide Gen 2 (20 pin) headers? Alternatively, I found this Gen 1 header addon, that suggests it adheres to the Gen 2 spec. Could I use that with something like this adaptor? Would this still allow Gen 2 speeds (10 Gbps), or bottleneck it at Gen 1 speeds (5 Gbps)? Thanks

So im going to build a new pc Wednesday and the only thing i kindda can't figure out is if should put the "i think it's called a molex?" that is in my case which makes me able to have like 4-5 fans connected and it only takes up 1 fan header on the motherboard. So my question is that on my motherboard there is 2x normal fan connectors and there is 1x fan pump connector. So i found out that the "pump" one always give maximum volts, like 12 or something. but should i connect my "molex" to the fan pump or normal fan header? Thanks in advance

Which way do the RGB headers have to go? I'm connecting a coolermaster fan to my motherboard. It looks kinda as if it could go either way. Also, when I push it in, how will I be able to tell it's far enough? Thanks!

Hi all, I was moving my vpn server from a 3u case to a 2u case and when i wanted to plug in the front usb header: This header seems to be mirrored from a normal header? How do i plug it in now? Olaf

Can I still use an AIO if there isn't a designated pump or AIO header on the motherboard, what if there is only a CPU fan header on the motherboard?

hello freinds, im buildimg a new rig and found out my motherboards (power led ) pins is defective,so everything works except case power led lights so i was i wondering if it would be ok if i connect my power led(+,-) header into the (+5V and Ground ) header in the speaker header in my motherboard info-i have alredy tried and my oower led lits up,but i was just making sure if its ok.. 2-would connecting my power led header to the 5v rail in my molex connecter a better option(as my old case's power led light stopeed working after a year i plugged it in the speaker led header similarly)?

Doing my first liquid cooling loop. Wondering what the best place to plug in the pump and fans (the fans are all grouped together) is. I've got CPU, CPU optional, and a couple case fan headers to chose from. The Pump and fans are both PWM. There are a few questions like this elsewhere, but they seem to be dated, with no PWM, and have a lot of responses from people who have never actually done a custom loop. I'm looking for people who have done this themselves, and can give some guidance based on experience. Thanks.

Hello, I recently upgraded to the ASrock X99 Taichi, so far it's an amazing board. There is only one problem, It only has 2 Internal USB 2 Headers. I have a NZXT Hue+ plugged into one, and My H100i plugged into the other. I need 1 more for my front panel USB 2 ports. One solution that has been recommended to me is the "NZXT IU01 Internal USB 2.0 Expansion Hub" but sadly that is not available in my country. The other solution that i have received is to just connect the Hue+ or H100i with a standard Micro-USB Cable, out the case and into the back panel. Would this work? What would happen if i unplug it while it is running? I am using my only USB3 Header, so installing a splitter would not work. Regards

I have been running some benchmarks to see how my system holds against similar systems. My i7 6700k @ 4.01Ghz scored a 973 cb on Cinebench, so I want to overclock my CPU to 4.2Ghz and increase from there. While running this, I noticed my Z170-A MB also has a header named W_Pump, which I assume will allow the BIOS/UEFI to fine tune pump speeds. My pump and radiator fans are all plugged in to the CPU_Fan header, as Corsair recommended in the manual. I also have Corsair Link installed on my system. will any benefits be gained if i use that header? I have included pictures of the CPU_Fan header, which i am currently using, and the W_Pump header, which is light green/white in color. Also, is the CPU_OPT for configurations with a heat sink that has multiple fans without a joining wire? (to plug in the 2nd fan)

Hello, Does anyone know if PCIe Thunderbolt3 Expansion Cards are available yet or planned? Also does anyone know if Thunderbolt 3 expansion cards will require a motherboard with a Thunderbolt Header? Finally does anyone know why the Thunderbolt Header is really necessary, and why whatever data from the Header could not be sent over PCIe? The requirement for a Thunderbolt Header on the Motherboard must be choking the uptake of Thunderbolt on PC's. Background. I have an ASUS Deluxe/Dual Z87 Motherboard which has two Thunderbolt 1 ports on the motherboard. I bought this board at the time, because it supported Thunderbolt 1. Unfortunately, this board does not include an additional Thunderbolt header on the board. Therefore when ASUS released the Thunderbolt2 expansion card with the Z97 Deluxe, I was unable to use it on my Z87 board. Thanks. colesdav.

Hello the Internetz, greetings from the country with bratwurst and lederhosen. Two days ago, a bunch of hardware arrived at my door and I started putting together my new pc. I thought the Corsair H115i AIO was powered from a fan header on the MB as described in THIS manual on page 5. Actually is has the connectors, you can see in the following picture: - Sata for 12V Power - 1-pin fan-plug for pump speed monitoring - 2x 4-pin fan-socket for fans - Mini-USB-B socket for Corsair Link The Pump speed can only be controlled by the Corsair Link software and the USB-Cable must stay connected. (otherwise the Pump will go full-speed after power was turned off) My questions are: - Are there different versions of the H115i? - Is it possible to McGiver an adapter from the Sata plug to the MB-pump-header (asus rog maximus viii hero (z170)) or any fan-header and control the pump speed with the voltage? - Is it possible to make the pump remember the last settings when Corsair Link is disconnected? I just don't want a crapload of cables in my computer and 15 different software utils to control the system. Thank you for your help!

SOOOO, if you look at my current rig, you'll see an H97M-E on a BitFenix Phenom M. I'm planning to transfer into a Versa H15, AND add a DeepCool Rock Master v3 It looks like the Versa H15 has 1x USB2.0 and 1x USB3.0 on its front panel. Now, it looks like I don't have enough USB3.0 headers on my motherboard, and I'll be prioritizing the Rock Master since I also need the card-readers. Now what do I do with the 1x USB3.0 on my chassis? Is there some sort of 3.0-to-2.0 cable? Because them USB2.0 headers, I have alot

Hello, I am almost done with my build. I have a question about PWM splitters because my motherboard only has one case fan header and I have 3 case fans, 2, I've bought. The two fans each came with a PWM splitter. Would I be able to put the input on one of the adapters to one of the outputs of the other adapter and basically have 3 headers, would this be possible? Also, would there be power issues?

Hello, Today I was assebling a pc for a friend of mine and everything went well until I came to the point I had to insert the USB 3.0 header, at first it didn't fit so I investigated the issue and I saw that the pin next to the blocked off pin was bent, however, when bending it back, it broke completely. I already contacted the reseller and of course the issue is not covered since I broke it myself. My question is now, can it hurt when I insert the USB header anyway? I am not a technician so I have no idea what the Vbus pin does. Will my usb port work if I plug in the header? Thanks

Here is my build: Corsair 450D case Asus Maximus VIII formula I7 6700k Corsair AX1200i GeForce GTX 980ti Hybrid Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x8gb 3200 MHz My question: It looks like I'm going to end up configuring my system with the radiator for my 115i in the front of the case pulling air in but I have an extra set of fans and I'm thinking of using a push pull setup at the front of the case. The issue is, I believe, that I need those fans spinning at the same speeds then (ideally off the same headers for consistency?). I'm wondering if I can use the case fans in combination with the ones on the 115i (both 140mm and 0.7A and 0.3A respectively) by using a splitter on the 2 4 pin headers coming out of the pump? Obviously I don't want to burn them out but will corsair link go ahead and just treat it as one fan and spin them both at the same speed for each header then? Thanks for your help! The radiator and the fan for the 980ti will be rear exhaust, the bottom will have one AF120 quiet edition as an additional intake and the top will be two AF140 quiet edition as exhaust. (Pulling in from the front/bottom and exhausting through top/rear).I know this is a bit of overkill fan wise but if I can pull it off why not.

Hey. I have a pretty simple question: If I buy a NZXT S340 case, that has two usb headers, will I need one usb3 header or two on my mobo? Thanks in advance

I'm looking at purchasing a new motherboard and I've had my sights on the Asus Z97 Pro-Gamer for quite some time as it's not as overkill as the Rampage boards but it has some extra features compared to the Z97-A without breaking the bank. So my question is two fold: I'm going to be switching to liquid cooling and I've read/heard that it is highly recommended to plug the pump into a header (or directly to the psu) that would provide 100% power at all times as opposed to plugging the pump into the cpu fan header where it would be controlled depending on how stress is on the cpu. Rather than getting an adapter to plug the pump into the power supply, I was wondering if the Chassis fan headers (CHA_FAN) on the asus motherboard are PWM like the cpu header or if they supply 100% all the time. I've tried searching around but I was unable to find anything conclusive. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Wanted to write some scripts to automate some tasks on my PC, and also to sharpen my skills with python, but i've run into a strange error when using PyAutoGui https://pyautogui.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ , When I try to use pyautogui.click on a link in google chrome(haven't tried other browsers, but assuming it will do the same thing) my script runs into an error and stops, but it isn't telling me what the error is. pyautogui.click works just fine on other things, just not links. Thanks

Hi guys, I can't seem to find anyone else who has run into this problem since it seems most people are only using Corsair AIOs and nothing else in Link. The new Corsair H110i GTX only has a USB to USB 2.0 Header cable, unlike my old H100i which had a Corsair Link output cable that could be added to the Commander Mini for expansion. I love being able to monitor all of my Corsair products and temps and be able to set custom fan curves, LEDs adjustment, and even PSU settings and information with the AXi or HXi PSUs later down the line. But now with the new H110i GTX, it's hogging my only USB header and I can't connect all of these together! Did Corsair just give up on the Link system?! Anyone else using this or a similar setup? It's sort of frustrating and I would love to hear of any workarounds or different solutions to go with. I've heard of getting this NZXT IU01 USB Expansion but I can't seem to find it anywhere anymore: https://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/99-iu01-usb-expansion-case-accessory.html. Any availability or pricing is USD. Thanks for the help!

I have an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 motherboard and I recently added two Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition fans to my Hyper 212 Evo in push/pull. Whereas my temperatures are completely fine, and the fans spin, my UEFI my motherboard does not detect the fans. I have them plugged directly into the CPU1 and OPT headers above my CPU mount. Has anybody else had this problem and know how to fix it so I can adjust the fan settings through my UEFI? I've wondered that they are PWM fans and maybe my motherboard does not support PWM? Or is it just a Corsair thing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you,

So I have a fan controller that I want to put in my case that connects through a USB 2.0 header, but the case IO has a USB 2.0. The problem is that I don't have enough USB 2.0 headers. So I was wondering if something like this would work http://www.frozencpu.com/products/21255/cab-1910/10-Pin_USB_20_AC97_HD-Audio_Internal_Header_Y_Splitter_Cable_-_20.html?tl=g2c539s1558#blank I just wasn't quite sure if this or something similar will actually work or be reliable. So thanks for the help and if you have any suggestions for a different splitter or for solutions to this problem please leave them below. Thank you
