Hi everyone, I've owned my Asus Strix GTX 1070 OC Edition for a few months now, but still have yet to figure out this issue. I love overclocking graphics cards, and even pushed my previous GTX 750 Ti to >960 performance. However, for some reason I am unable to overclock my current 1070 past +60MHz on the clock speed and +60MHz on the memory speed in MSI Afterburner. I looked at some other people's overclocks, and they were all in the range of +200 +700 offset. Any suggesstions or help is appreciated! EDIT: To be more specific, anything higher than +75MHz crashes the GPU driver immediately whenever I start a game, benchmark, etc. Motherboard: Asus 970 Pro Gaming/Aura CPU: AMD FX-9370

My pc is not booting corectly because of my gtx 1070. When i put it out of the system it works perfectly, but if i want to boot with the gtx 1070 (not oc) i have to take it out, enter save mode of Windows, reinstall the graphics card, deactivate it, boot in normal mode, activate the card. This is the only way it is possible to boot with my graphics card. My mainboard is an Asus Gene Vii with an i5 4690k at 4.00GHz. If you know any solution to my problem or had simular experiences please let me know. My psu is an corsair vs 550w.

I want to upgrade my current cards which would be 2 Gtx 460's in sli. I wanted to know if I should grab a Gtx 1060 or a Gtx 1070. My Cpu and MB are also pretty old too, the Cpu is a core i7 950 in a rampage gene ii.

So as of right now my pc consists of a GTX 960, an fx8350, and 16gb of ram. Im looking to upgrade my graphics card to a gtx 1070 so that I can buy an HTC Vive, but the problem is the fx8350 would bottleneck the 1070 like crazy. So to upgrade I would need a new motherboard, a new processor, and of course the 1070. So I see my options like this 1.Build a completely new pc 2. Just deal with the bottleneck or 3. Upgrade what I need to upgrade but do no build another pc. Hopefully some people that know some more about these sort of things can help me out

hello all, I have been doing a bit of research and have my upgrade list all planed out. the only thing that i am not sure about is the graphics card. I know I want it to be a 1070 but I was wondering which one; aftermarket, ftw, superclocked etc. the ftw and superclocked are not white and there for will not go along with my planed build very well, but is the increase performance worth the extra cost and slight ugliness? If a standard/aftermarket 1070 is the best way to go, then what are some nice white 1070s. I have found a few but they don't really appeal to me. the case I want is the white nzxt s340 along with the z97s krait edition; so it is ok if the gpu has some black on it. I don't know how to paint a gpu but I am always willing to learn new things (as long as there isn't a big risk of breaking the brand new $400+ gpu).

g'day i'm trying to find a good gtx 1070 but unsure which one to get, i defined it down to 2 and wanted to see which is better for the money. What 1070 do you think is the best? thx

Hi, I was wondering which GPU i should get. They both look good and are close enough in performance. I have an msi Z170A Gaming M5 motherboard and Intel i5 6600k Skylake processor and I don't know if it would be better to get the msi card because of the mobo. Thanks

I come across this data http://www.chartist.co/charts/46186 and it is overclock for +251 MHz GPU clock +586 MHz Memory clock +20% Power gain I am wondering is it safe to overclock this much? Is it the risk worth taken for the 10% improvement? I can see the non-overclock is able to run Crysis III for 58 fps which is pretty much enough for me.

Hi, I´m a beginner here and just found that there are way to many model for each graphic card for example the gtx 1070. here in this page you find 23 models of it: http://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?N=4294966937+4294854051+4294852533&NTX=&NTT=&NTK=all&page=1&sortby=pricelow Are the quality of 1070 graphic cards of asus, gigabite, MSI etc... different? if yes, which are considered to be the best? I just don´t understand many of the infos there, so I asume the more/higher the better it is, but may be I´m wrong. can you correct me where the more/higher is not the better ? And the parts I really don´t get are in bold. What should I expect in those topics? hi guys, I was planning to get a gtx 1060 and i5 6600. I originally did not want to overclock. Now I'm not sure. So I need your advice. If I was to change the B150 mobo and i5 6600 cpu for a Z170 and i5 6600k, how much gaming benefit would I notice (not actually get but realistically notice) from the more expensive option including a fairly conservative overclock. Please note, no matter what I choose it will be air cooled only (currently going for Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO). Also, I do not want an i7 cpu, that will wait until next year when I'm planning a build with kaby lake, a top of the line gpu, plus whatever next gen ssd and memory is available then. To help answer, the PC will be connected to a 4K smart tv which I will set to 1080p when gaming. Current build list: i5 6600 Asus B150 Plus Crucial BX200 250gb SSD Palit 1060 Dual 6gb Corsair Vengeance 16gb (2x8) DDR4 2400 mhz Corsair CXM 500 watt Game Max Silent Gaming case Arctic case fans (1x140mm, 1x120mm) The cost of the build (not including OS or peripherals) is around €900. I don't mind the extra cost of the Z170 and unlocked cpu as long it is actually worth it, not just 2-3 fps in games and Windows starting up 2 seconds quicker. Thanks for any help.

I have officially locked in my computer build. Assuming I can sell my old build and laptop, I will have the funding. This is it. For those of you who don't trust PCpartpicker, it consists of: i5 6600k CPU Corsair H60i CPU Cooler Corsair Carbide Series 88R Case Asus H110M-K D3 Mobo 16gb Crucial Ballistix DDR3 @ 1600mhz RAM Asus GTX 1070 Turbo edition Western Digital Blue 1tb @ 7200 RPM HDD SanDisk SSD PLUS 120gb SSD EVGA 600w Bronze PSU Parts Rationale: I own some of the parts, those parts being - RAM - WD Blue HDD - SanDisk SSD - EVGA PSU So when I found out that asus makes H110 motherboards that support skylake CPUs with DDR3, I decided on one to save money. With that in mind, I decided on the i5 6600k because it is $20 more for an unlocked CPU with a slightly higher clock. I chose an i5 because I will mainly be doing gaming and a little bit of video editing for my youtube channel. I wanted a liquid cooler for a couple of reasons. It offers better cooling (duh) which will let the CPU turbo up to a higher frequency. Also (correct me if I'm wrong) it allows for more overclocking headroom as opposed to air. It will also be nice to save a bit of hot air in the case being blown around. I picked the Asus GTX 1070 Turbo because it is the cheapest 1070 (again, correct me if I'm wrong) on the market at the moment. It is basically the founders edition with a custom cooler. As for 1070 vs 1060, why not. 1070s are better. I currently have a budget GPU (GTX 750 Ti FTW) and even though the 1060 will beat it up and down, as will the 1070 (just by more), it would be nice to be future-proof (as well as bragging rights). The Corsair Carbide 88R seems like a nice (and cheap) case to buy. It also helps that it has support for water cooling radiators. BUT, as PCpartpicker says, I'm not sure if the 1070 will fit in the 88R. Theoretically it should because the 1070 turbo is about 10.5 inches long where the case is 14.8 (or 17.3, idk which is which) inches. That should allow for some breathing room, right? Well let me know what you think ald let me know if the 1070 will fit in the case. Thanks for your help. **EDIT** I'm pretty sure it is the Corsair H60, not H60i And I went pretty parentheses heavy.

Ok, so here's my problem. Had the MoBo in my current PC's GPU power delivery die, so in replacing the components / new rig build I snagged a Founders GTX 1070. My original intention was to get a 980Ti then upgrade to a TitanX later down the road. As I thought about it, I don't have the intentions to game heavily at 4k - I'm perfectly happy with 2k. From the little that I've read the 1070 will perform great on 2k and even decent on 4k if I ever get the itch. My question is if it's cost-effective to upgrade to a 1080 (or 1080Ti) from the 1070? Working with a 6700k, Asus Sabertooth Z170 Mk1 with 16Gbs (to start), and fed by a 850w Corsair Gold PSU. Also, does the market anticipate a drop in price for the TitanX anytime in the near future, or does it's performance guarantee it to be a high price point?

I'm planning a build for the end of this year, one of my doubts is the resolution I should aim for. My budget is around 1500$ (monitor included) and since I can’t afford spending money on constant upgrades, the idea is to have some longevity. Currently I’m aiming for a GTX 1070 with a 1080p 144hz monitor. Even though a 1070 seems overkill for that resolution, it should provide nice framerates for the next couple of years. I will use the computer also for programming and I think I would appreciate a 1440p IPS panel (color reproduction and large workspace), because even though I play some games like CS:GO I don´t do it in a competitive way. But I think I would have to spend more on a nice 1440p monitor and would be difficult to maintain +60fps on some games in the future. What do you guys thins about GTX1070 with 1080p 144hz monitor for that budget?

G'day everyone , I have recently got my self a gtx 1070 as my old graphics card was getting old and out dated . im not an expert but not complete useless when it comes to PC , ive built my own computers/upgrades but this one has in a bit of a snag. So i need friendly help from my fellow gamers / computer peps. Computer Specs are: intel i5-4590 3.3ghz watercooled GTX 1070 MSI Gaming X 2 ssd hards , and one standard hdd Thermaltake litepower 700 PSU 8gb Ram I have included below my Dxdiag. Now what i dont understand is some games i get over and a steady 60 fps , like League of legends not that graphical or cpu depended . But when i play Ark Survial or Divison on ultra , high or even med i get 70 fps average , then constantly drops to 14 fps or lower which makes the games unplayable . I believe this is a CPU Bottle neck .As while have games up going doing test cpu was 100% and gpu was around 60 to 70% . I dont want to go out and buy a new cpu just incase it isnt , because i do i will more than likey upgrade to the 1151 socket means , new mb , ram and cpu . any more information you guys need please ask , thanks for the help in advanced . Sincerely IdentityOCE DxDiag.txt

Hi, I currently own 2 monitors, 1080p@60Hz and 1080p@144Hz. I run both off my GTX 970. However, I'm planning on upgrading my graphics card. I'm not sure what will benefit me in the long run, a GTX 1070 and a 4K monitor or just a GTX 1080. I've never experienced '4K', only 2K (my phone display). I don't game much but when I do game (i.e. in my spare time when I'm bored), I want to run my games at max settings. If I get a 4K monitor, I know GTX 1070 isn't capable of doing 4K@60FPS so I'd lower the settings to low/medium to try and get close to 60, if not, run games at 1440p on it. This is my reason for being more inclined towards GTX 1070 + 4K monitor, however I'm not sure if it's worth it in the long run getting a GTX 1080 instead. Note 1: My GTX 970 is able to run games at high settings at 144FPS, but I get thermal throttling as it reaches 80C and stays there, causing random stuttering. Note 2: I mainly do programming and configuration stuff + work + internet browsing, so that's why 2 monitors benefits me greatly right now. I'm able to watch a video on one screen and do programming on my main monitor.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/6sZ74C How is this build? I'm aiming for 144 fps at 1080p. playing games such as LoL, Division, Wild lands, BF 1 and 4. Also curious, will the 6500 hold back the 1070 or nah? If so how much fps will it hold it back by? Thanks.

I decided to buy a Gtx 1070 for my next upgrade. I was just wondering what your opinion is on the best 1070. I would like it to match my build which is gold and black. Here are a couple ones I was thinking: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500409&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-500-409-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487248&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-487-248-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487265&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-487-265-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126111&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-126-111-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125870&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-125-870-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2F84964257&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-500-400-_-Product Out of those which will perform and look the best for my system (i5-4690k w/ 16gb ram)? Or what is your recommendation?

I dont know where to start.Everything was working fine.My second monitor just says no signal after the windows loading screens. This happened overnight i dont know what caused it and i cant fix it either. It just says no signal when the drivers are on also windows cant detect it either. It works fine in safe mode and bios. I installed older drivers I messed with the bios settings looking at the fixes i found online. I resetted windows 10. I scanned in device manager.etc. Yes its plugged to the gpu and not the motherboard. I cleaned my drivers with ddu and re-installed. I did that pci-e power management fix. I am considering installing windows 7 because i dont know what else to do.

Laptop GTX 1060 vs 1070 for after effects, premier pro, etc
hadlowj posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hi guys looking for a little advice, need a laptop for editing video and photos on the go, mainly use after effects, premier pro, photoshop, etc and am wondering will there be any benefit for me getting the GTX 1070 over the 1060 in terms of rendering speeds, timeline scrubbing, etc? Many thanks James -
so i am totally confused what to do lets start from the beginning, i am building my computer, it is a beast. it will have a gtx 1070 amp! extreme, an i7 6700k and 3200mhz ram. now i want to decide a monitor. i want a 1080p 144hz or 120hz IPS monitor and 1 to max 5 ms response time. but i am not able to find any monitor with a 1080p screen!! with these specs. so now you all would be thinking if i have a pc with capabilities to use a 1440p screen so why i am not taking a monitor with a 1440p screen? so here is the answer, i want to use this pc for a long time! in few years or even months my pc would not be able to play maxed out games at very high detail above 60FPS, so thats why i want a 1080p monitor and i want a good quality screen (IPS) because i watch many movies and dont want a TN panel. so can anyone recommend any monitor to me?? and i am not going with lower hz like 60 or 70hz becase people say if i have a 60hz monitor i cannot see more than 60fps and if my games are running high than the the refresh rate of my monitor than i will see TEARING!!! help me
